Try to work on your intended program as advised by the gurus in the house. Regarding your application with your hubby and the kids, in my own opinion, I think it will be fine so far you have a reasonable amount that will all cover your tuition, your living expenses as well as proof of funds to cater for your dependant's living expenses too. But its a two way thing cos your hubby will also show his SOA as proof of funds to support his and the children's living expenses as this will help your application. They will only deny you if the responsibilities is shouldered on you as a student coz cic detest when dependant's responsibilities are completely shouldered on the main applicant. when you have more than enough money then you are good to go.
Have we all forgotten that a moniker got his trv approved along with his wife and kid on 9th of june? Despite the fact that this moniker @fembas316 is on funding, he still show a reasonable mind blowing SOA to cater for his dependants. If you want to go ahead with your application as planned, you should be prepared to present a mind blowing SOA lol if not I suggest you travel with your little baby then your hubby can join you tru sowp nd kids tru visiting. You can start the processing wen u land and after getting necessary documents from ur school for dia app. But dont forget to work on ur program 1st,other plans can now follow.

@markab has said it all, I suggest you chill till thur then mail vfs to know the status of your passport. I hope you don book your flight boss as said earlier, the closer the date, the higher the price.

This sounds funny though, study permit before visa approval? .this person get mouth oo lol. Study permit is usually issued at the Port of entry nd not by the school. I think the school is trying to show the applicant what a study permit document looks like, going by the water mark, its just a sample. The applicant should apply normally without including this study permit sample, it may be implicative.my opinion tho'

I think the option that is more easier to tackle is the 3rd option. You dont need to worry about anything, coz cic will not contact your bank to verify except the document u submitted isnt genuine or they smell somtyn fishy. all you need to do is to make sure some "keywords" are well stated in the written assurance from your bank. Those important statements is wht they want to here my dear bro, they just want your bank to assure them the money will be made available when needed. The following statement should be clearly stated on ur bank reference letter;
" living expenses for the upcoming academic year are on deposit and can be rexported abroad thru CBN forex control policy when the need arises" .you can as well back it up with a reference letter from your sponsor. My question is: I hope the amount you stated in your SOA for living expenses is still intact till now.
I also received same mail from cic wen my trv was still in dia custody lol, and that was how I tackled mine.
Other gurus in the house can also shed more light and I can still remember @canadian_nurse had same experience

3. A written assurance from the your bank that living expenses for the upcoming academic year* are on deposit as well as written assurance from the Central Bank of Nigeria that you will be permitted to export this amount.

If option 3 is picked, and the letter of assurance is written by the bank, does it mean that the money cannot be withdrawn from the account except for the purpose of the living expenses?

Just to clear things up a bit. We have been using biometrics for over a month now, in fact that is what replaced our manual sign out. The biometrics can be by passed for certain reasons, even with ease sef. This is because it doesn't work for everyone and all they do is take down their state code number. Biometrics or not oga op if you arrange well you will travel and someone will pick up your certificate. This is very wrong tho. To serve your country is not by force. Cheers!

Someone can collect it on your bhave. All you need to do is to write an addressed letter to the vfs, include the person's details,the relationship between you guyz and ur signature at the end, attach a photocopy of the person's ID card with the letter. This is all he/she needs to take along. That was what I did to collect mine.

The choice is yours my dear, it depends on your scale of preference,wht country do you prefer, is it malaysia or canada. this decision will guide you right. no one can advice you to choose one country over the other wht of if the house decides and at the end of the day it doesn't favour you, how will you feel? make the decision 1st and lets no how to tackle your question. i hope this will help.

I submitted via paper route nt online but in most cases it doesnt exceed 1week while in some cases, it does exceed a wk. If the tracking result is true, it means mine isn't up to a week I.e 8th-14th. You can try to track ur passport to know the status.

you dont need to worry boss, since you have submitted the important letters. but i will advice you keep the "Annual official fund breakdown" letter once it is out because cic can be so funny at times, despite the fact that i attached my funding letter the vo in charge of my application still went ahead to request for an evidence of having paid my tuition for the 1st year,Source of fund for my living xpenses and also bank reference letter. Incase cic later request for a similar document then you can present the "Annual official fund breakdown"letter as evidence. no worries boss, ur trv will be approved without any request for an additional doc by his grace. Actually the letter am expecting is an "Annual official fund breakdown" letter. My department gave me an initial offer letter stating the funding, then sent the same letter to grad school who den issue letter of acceptance. after i accepted my offer, then my department again sent me an offical letter of acceptance stating that i have accepted my offer and started my funding again. then said the break down letter will be issued mid summer. so its 3 letters i submitted all in all in my application.

do you mean you didnt submit the funding letter with your application? in my own case, the funding letter from the department was issued before the acceptance letter(but just few dayz interval) and on my funding letter same story was also stated and also that the details of the official annual funding breakdown will be released to me wen i resume. i submitted the two letters for my app of whc the funding letter will serve as an evidence of payment for ur tuition fees like wht @mazuide said earlier. but the only difference is they never stated "mid-summer" in the letter.you dont need to worry coz the funding letter is a clear evidence . i think the gurus in the house will tell us wht mid summer means

Could that not be supervisor's influence probably due to fund availability? Well, no need to argue much on supervisor's influence on admission, to clarify your doubt and uncertainties, the department had long issued her a new funding letter while the graduate school was not even aware of that. While she await a new letter of acceptance, she contacted the sgs and was told the department is solely responsible for admission/deferral request, once they hear from the department, she would be issued a new letter of acceptance. Schools are distinct and have different process or admission policies...as Ayoola03 stated earlier, so it was! She was practically specific and not theoretically generic.

Supervisor does not recommend one for admission. The academic department committee does. The supervisor can help and is often a part of the committee that makes admission decision and funding allocation. Once they have done so, it's up to the school of graduate studies to approve. They make the final decision to approve the academic department's recommendation. If you need to defer, you need to petition the academic department which may or may not approve it. Of of they approve it, they send it to the school of graduate studies for final approval. That is why it seems you had trouble finding someone to reply to you. The process is not static, but is a moving target from one office to another. Congrats getting your TRV approved. Please update the house on your stats and documents submitted.

I can still remember u applied to uwo, if datz tru, u are allowed to differ ur admission since itz not up to a year u got admitted. And losing ur funding or nt solemnly depends on ur supervisor, all you need is prayers coz he is keeping the slot for you just pray he will be patient with you nd wont change his mind you no dos supervisors operate based on the grants givn to them and I think this is affecting the rate at whc we nigerians get funding coz dey bliv it takes too long b4 we are able to get our trv so dey got no patient to wait for nija applicants. before you can defer ur admission you will first contact ur supervisor to inform him. I had a similar experience, I got a supervisor last year nov with the intention of applying for fall 2017. He gave me a go ah3ad to apply to my surprise I was givn admission for winter 2017 whc require me to resume in jan 2017(and I applied for fall 2017) den, I dont even av an international passport not to talk of applying for TRV and d processing time was 13weeks I had to contact him telln him I wont be able to meet up considerin the short time frame nd current processing time he agreed to defer my admission till may den I weny ahead to contact the graduate coordinator to process my new offer letter(ur dept will inform the school abt ur deferment on ur bhave so they can prepare ur new acceptance letter) this is wht I used to process my trv in jan. To cuy the long story short along the line wen I didnt hear from cic I kept on updating ny supervisor attaching the current processing time wit my mail (never keep mute wen ur app is still "processing" keep updating ur supervisor this shows ur seriousness and willingness). The school was to resume on may 8, I mailed my dept and supervisor on may 3 (coz I no cic will disappoint nd I wanted to make sure a new letter is on ground by d time cic will ask me to provid dem) telling my intention to defer my admission since am yet to hear from cic telling him my app is still within processing time. You wont bliv non of them replied my mails (I got more scared coz I was thinking it was too late to defer and also my supervisor had lost interest in me) I got more worried so I had to contact the school of graduate studies (my dept) d lady refused to pick up then I felt all hope was lost. Cic replied me on may 5th telling me my acceptance letter has expired dat I shld provide new letter for nxt semester and also proof of having paid my tuition fees for the 1st year and living expenses as well and also bank reference letter story (common letter by cic). Despite the fact that I was on funding I was shocked nd dnno hw to go abt it (I just felt this people are looking for a way to deny me) nd the school isnt ready to pay my tuition until I fulfil the condition on my acceptance letter whc is provision of TRV and I must be persent in school b4 the start date this means if cic didnt approve my TRV dey wont pay my tuition hmmmm. I mailed my dept+supervisor attaching cic response concerning d progress in my application still, non of them replied nd non also picked my calls den I summoned courage to call the school the guy was really helpful he immediately connected me with the naughty lady dat has refused to pick up my calls, she finally picked. She told me my supervisor has discussed my deferment with her and she will get bck to me once shez done infact she didnt allow me to alter a word, she also made mention of cic new policy of payin one year tuition and asked me nt to worry that everything will be taken care of in the new offer letter,(God is great,the news eased d fear of losing my funding). The letters(acceptance and funding)was sent to me within 3dayz carryin fall term (at last I got wat I wanted, itz destiny). I forwarded it to cic 3weeks to the deadline given. All you need to do is to hold on, u neva can tell cic can approve ur trv b4 resumption bt wen itz 5dayz to resumption nd u r yet to hear from cic please dnt hesitate to mail the graduate coordinator tellin her u wnt to differ nd givin her reasons y u wnt to mean while mail ur supervisor like few weeks to resumption telln him the present processing time dnt tell him directly dat u wnt deferment just try to seek his opinion on wht to do nxt (ur supervisor has the final say not the school of graduate studies coz he was the one who recommended u for admission). Am sure cic will reply few dayz to resumption requesting for a new acceptance letter.so sorry to share this long story of mine coz I bliv with this u will still retain the confidence in u nd never lose hope. expecially wen u mail ur supervisor and he doesny reply, itz nt as if he ignored ur mail or hez nt taking actions but he just felt itz nt necessary he reply,my supervisor didnt reply my mail (weda he agree to differ my admisson or he still av interest in me ) he didnt reply until the day I told him my trv has been approved! He was excited wen he heard the good news. Datz all they wnt to hear. (This experience is application to UWO I dnno abt other schools). Tho itz not easy but Just keep ur hope alive. All I will advice you to do is if the sponsor can still hold on till the end of ur service I will advice u finish your service nd get ur certificate bfor u leave. People that are advising u to come bck nd serve they dnt know wht it entails because coming bck to serve can be a little bit difficult unless you are ready to forfeit the opportunities that will come your way after ur master program. If you r going for a 2yrs masters, after ur program, u will be givn 3yrs post graduate work permit (PGWP)and a yr program is equivalent to 1yr pgwp. And d opportunity to apply for pgwp only last for 3months after graduation of whc ur study permit and ur TRV will expire 90dayz after ur program whc is equivalent to 3months.now the question is whr is dat time to come bck to serve. Nd dos that r advising you to go nd forget nysc will neva come bck after finding a beautifully paid job in canada.whc company in canada will even allow u to go for a month nt to talk of a whole year all for the sake of nysc. Once u leave canada after ur studies and ur TRV expire while u are away, u will not be allow to enter canada again unless u renew bfor leaving or start all over again in nigeria by applyin for a new studypermit. Once u av ur certificate bfor leaving ur mind will be at peace even if need wont arise for it in d future, no one knows tomrw nt all our politicians tender their nysc certificate bfor they assume duty we neva can tell you can be assigned for any high political post whr nobody will even remembr to ask for ur nysc discharged certificate because dey all want u for the post and the post is meant for u. In summary my sis, if the sponsor can hold on till d end of ur service I recommend u finish ur service den leave, if itz 2yrz masters bliv me u r goin their to spend nothing less dan 5yrz......... my own advice tho' the choice is urs we cant dictate for u. itz a 2way thing if u dont wish to remain in canada after ur studies I.e ur aim is to go there, study and come bck u can go nd come bck for service bt if ur wish is to still remain in canada for greener pastures after ur studies, my sister itz a good thing u get ur certi b4 leaving. Well, i'm not sure what your specs are but i'm sure you will get better deal in Canada. With the current exchange rate, 350k is over $1,000 and that will buy you a 'moderate spec' MacBook not to talk of Dell, HP, Acer etc. If your money no reach buy new lappy, you can get refurbished one/open box or they could even be on sale ('might' need to wait for some seasons like Boxing day sale, Black Friday etc). This is for people like us that take advantage of sales anyway.
