sirlop:You're right. But many don't understand how this thing works, from deal hunters down to the resellers, especially the newbies. I'll like to share some personal tips, if some will open their minds enough to understand it. To start with, I don't know if to call myself a deal hunter or not, cuz what I basically do is buy my items, list them as a TLC deal, if it gets sold here, fine. If it doesn't, I sell them to interested resellers here when it gets to naija and if it still doesn't get sold to them, I sell to my direct end users. Selling items as a TLC deal means 'Sell fast + little profit', selling to reseller means 'Average sale time + average profit' while selling to direct end users means 'Sell slow + big profit'. You can see they all have their pros and cons. Now as a deal hunter, I only buy items that I want myself, if it doesn't make sense to me, I don't even buy it. When you buy items that you want yourself, if it doesn't get sold as a TLC deal, you'll either sell to resellers when it lands or sell to end users. But some deal hunters refuse to do proper check and question themselves on what they are buying because they are after their instant profit, strictly as a DEAL HUNTER! If you take this as more than deal hunting, you'll have lesser issues. As a reseller, you have 2 options of buying, a TLC deal which you haven't seen or a deal already in naija which you can examine properly, two things are involved, buying a TLC deal means higher risk and higher profits while already in naija deals means minimal risk with reduced profit. So it's up to you to decide which you want. Truth be said, most resellers here want NO RISK and HIGH PROFIT without even putting their money, that's when you see posts like... "Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (already in naija) needed at reseller price. Budget is 100k" or "iPhone X 256GB with box and accessories needed, not more than 100k". It doesn't work that way, if you want no risk and high profit, this business isn't for you. As a buyer, you need to do your background check before buying or paying a deal hunter or reseller, especially one you've not transacted with before, this will save you stress, worries and ensure your risk is reduced. The keyword is there, reduced risk. Every and any business has its own risk, might be very small or big, put that in mind. Some times, issues happens and it might not even be the pickers fault, deal hunters fault, resellers fault or your fault but when you already have that in mind, it'll be easier for the parties involved to sort things out. To wrap it up, no matter how small or big a market is, there will always be top-rated sellers and buyers, it also applies to this thread, I won't list them out so it's up to you to do your due diligence as a deal hunter, reseller or buyer to know who is who. All the best to everyone!!! |

harmbhrosz:Shove in our throat.? I've already accepted you as the winner of the argument already nah. So let's just move on! ![]() |
harmbhrosz:Not everyone uses devices for months or years, I use devices just for a few months highest. When the Note 10 comes out, I'm done with S10+ and so on like that. So I don't need to use a phone for years to know it inside out. Lol... I've used ALL of those devices. The only top or common android devices I never get to buy myself are mostly the Chinese ones and I was given a review copy directly by the manufacturers. I've been given devices like Huawei, Infinix, Innjoo, Tecno etc so I would use them thoroughly for days and weeks before writing a full review on my Tech Blog and YouTube channel then I decide whether to sell or dash them out. So I'm not just familiar with them, I've used them in and out. So if you don't take me serious, it's at your own risk. All in all, enjoy your UI in peace while I enjoy mine too. Cheers! |
spartacus11:He has even edited and added more stories than what I quoted. I can see he's just in for arguments. |
harmbhrosz:You said one UI is one of the best here, you earlier said it's the 4th on your list, at some point you said it's better than MIUI and also MIUI is even better than it and so on. Know the basis of an argument before jumping on it and make it constructive. The number one UI in Android that comes very close to go into a direct comparison with iOS' is still Samsung's. Thus, My first post you quoted is about UI as a whole, is customization the only thing considered in UIs.? I'm familiar with all those UI you listed up there, including HTC's Sense, LG UX etc and so on. It seems like you're a type of person who judge a better UI by the number of useless gimmicks on it. Samsung also has a ruler, surface level, tally counter, compass, live language translator, live texts and so many more which are not on most of the others, if that's what your'e judging with. When talking about the best UI, they put into consideration, the most efficient, easy and simple to use ones with the basic and essential tools not the one that has most junks. When you buy a pure android, it comes with nothing apart from the essentials. You're expected to install the apps and tools you need based on your preference. You can download a screen recorder, a currency converter on any device so having it on a rom doesn't make the rom better than one who doesn't have it preinstalled. Btw, there's no official award that goes directly to UIs ATM as far as I know. So uploading a Chinese backup which even you don't understand its yardstick is crap. When you watch reviews and ratings online, overall, One UI is rated than others. Before, I'll take you serious. Sell your Samsung note 9 and buy a Xiaomi phone so you can enjoy the MIUI in full. Installing a Xiaomi launcher on a Samsung device and typing all those epistles is called HYPOCRISY. I drop my pen here!!! |
pheranmie:Come to my WhatsApp... I have TLC and Already in 9ja. |
harmbhrosz:You're still confusing yourself and there's no consistency in what you're writing. Secure folder is a successor to the old Private mode so it has been in existence before One UI. Like I said earlier, the secure folder addresses the issue of dual app, app locking and dual space, it doesn't have to make sense to you, as long as it does what it's meant to do, efficiently and effectively. It's not the best to you cuz you are solely concerned about customization, even though there are many other aspects to be considered in UIs. What's the sense in using App lockers that any layman can bypass by using the right approach when there's a better and more secure option.? Well, it's your opinion and we have our own preferences. You think some other UIs are better than One UI. Noted! I've also met people who thinks Infinix is better than Samsung because of reasons known to them alone. All the best! |

spartacus11:Nice thread..! Well done bro.! Most people that says Samsung battery is poor are those that buys the 3rd/4th hand of Samsung phones since they are expensive. What do they expect of a battery heavily used by 3 or 4 users..? When you buy a new Samsung phone, you'll realize the battery is a beast. I use my S10+ for full two days without charging, sometimes I even charge my other devices with it. Samsung is just awesome!!! |
harmbhrosz:NOTE::: I saw your mention yesterday, I was too tired to type so I just let it go. But when I saw that the discussion still continued today then I decided to drop this. Well, we are all entitled to our opinion and I respect yours. But don't forget that all the things you listed above (directly/ indirectly) has to do with customizations, none has to do with display, performance etc which shows the UI is satisfactory in all those aspects. That's enough to make it better than the others. Now back to customization, most of the things you listed above points to Samsung's old Touchwiz UI. Now, Samsung has a newer and far better One UI which has a fix for most of those cons, with a lot of pros included. * The secure folder functionality makes app locking a child's play. Just put your Apps in the secure folder and it's safer and more secure than any app locker you've heard of. I've personally bypassed App lockers on people's phone when I really needed to. But not even Samsung's CEO can bypass the secure folder on my phone, only if I give him my fingerprint or iris copy. ** This isnt on Samsung UI for real, but there are other 3rd party apps you could use for this purpose. As far as I know, a phone doesn't necessarily need to have a speed indicator. Even PCs rarely have. You know what to do if you want to know the speed you're browsing with, that's where service providers come in. *** Samsung has data monitoring and it's okay as far as I know. It tells you what you've used, what you're using and you can even set it to warn you or limit your access at some point. *** There are unlimited icons, fonts, AOD, themes etc on Samsung that fixes this. Only few comes installed but you have a lot of them curated on your phone for download and use depending on your type of person. In fact, there are a lot of crazy themes specially built and designed for the new S10+, S10, S10e just cuz of the pinhole cameras on those devices. I use a S10+ and I have many of them. I can share you if you like but it'll make no difference on your Note 9 since it doesn't have pinhole design. *** The secure folder comes into play again here. You can use it as a second space/dual app if you want to. In fact, I use my secure folder a lot since I have a lot of apps there, some are not even on my phone but they are in the SF. *** As a matter of fact, apart from the secure folder. Samsung has the dual app functionality. So with this two, it means you can have 3 Facebook, Ebay, Offerup, Messenger Apps etc without installing any 3rd party dual/parallel space App At this point, just go back to the one UI and verify all the things I've mentioned. You'll see yourself that Samsung is just too underrated despite having a lot of functionalities you can never find on an iPhone or some other smartphones. It takes a true geek to get the most out of your Sammy device. |

I mean buy them and use them for months/year then I'll take you seriously. But before then your conclusion of One UI being the best and not having any rival in customization
All in all, enjoy your UI in peace while I enjoy mine too. Cheers!
