Politics / Re: El-Rufai Arrested By SSS Over "Inciting Claims" by Azikiwe86: 5:19pm On Jul 06, 2011
It seems pretty clear that El-Rufai expects this kind of thing, and that the breath of fresh air is anything but. He knows he rocked the boats of the wrong people and it will be coming back to bite him for a long while yet. Like he says:“The Nigerian elite don’t forget insults."
This has sullied Nigeria's standing in the eyes of other countries when it was just beginning to improve.

Any investment of this scale is a good investment just as long as it is implemented in the best possible way. my hope lies in this project actually coming to pass.

Politics / Re: Akume Is Senate Minority Leader by Azikiwe86: 3:08pm On Jun 30, 2011
I am not entirely certain that two people from Benue can maintain such sensitive positions in government. This is a msaterstroke by ACN to checkmate the influence of David Mark by pitting him up against his arch rival Akume,

The Yoruba have been left wanting once again with such meaningless positions,

Politics / Re: What Is Wrong With President Jonathan? by Azikiwe86: 12:47pm On Jun 22, 2011
My main concern lies with the assembling of his cabinet!! I await with baited breath, Things will begin to pick up. & When they do, lets hope it will benefit all of us. We just have to bare in mind that a country like Nigeria is not easy to run & all things that he does will take some time. so to answer your question.

JUST BE PATIENT.

Politics / Re: 2 Soldiers, 18 Others Killed In Tiv/fulani Renewed Clash by Azikiwe86: 11:40am On Jun 22, 2011
What I find hard to understand is that this issue of land usage and encroachment by fulani herders seem to be a common occurrence. They wait to pounce on the owners of the land that they are trespassing on! Something just is not right. what is the reaction of the government? why must a Tiv farmer run from his own land? has been going on for a long while?

Politics / Re: Emergence Of Tambuwal As Speaker, A Hausa/fulani Agenda – Fasehun by Azikiwe86: 3:42pm On Jun 13, 2011
Such talk will only lead to disunity in the country. let us not forget that the OPC are a sectional group which speak for only a certain people, therefore the feeling of marginalization is bound to be felt by them, hence they feel the need to shout. There is no agenda in this situation. just real democracy evolving(i hope)!

Politics / Re: Compensate Awo By Giving Fcta Ministerial Appointment To Segun Awolowo by Azikiwe86: 3:32pm On Jun 13, 2011
What is compensation vs merit? Yar'Adua was made junior minister after the demise of our former president. That was based on name and patronage. If Segun Awolowo has served in his role with distinction then it is deserved that he is called into higher office. Hard-work will and should be noticed, But he should not be called upon, just to placate the family on the whole. His work should be his legacy.

Politics / Re: Corruption Should Carry Death Sentence by Azikiwe86: 5:26pm On Jun 10, 2011
If corruption was to carry the death penalty then Nigeria would shrink to the size of Mauritania very quickly!! the solution should be mobile corruption courts and serious penalties so as to eliminate the serious bottle necks that are hampering the the cases and making them long winded and costly.

On a lighter note, Jonathan and Obama meet in New York!! Must read below!!!!
