I filled the passport application for change of name online and paid via my debit card.. the page load and freeze while my money was deducted, I didn't receive a confirmation, please anyone can help on how to get a confirmation page to take along to immigration office next month.
Kindly please help on what to do sir.

New applications have been suspended until the 1st of June. Be patient!

I see you didn't grasp what I implied & taking things personal. Most nigerians only apply for a passport when the need arises. Most of those I interact with have a passport & they are not even thinking of travelling out yet, even some of their siblings in sec school. If job/scholarship opportunities comes, They've reduced the risk of things going south by having it ready. Look at the case of nigerians abroad being unable to renew their expired passports at embassies last year? How many 10years passport holders do you think would be among them? Very few. Anything nigeria needs you to think & prepare long term.

By the way, Don't get depressed on naija matter, I have family members that were made to miss their paid flight because of related issues like this. They certainly won't make such mistakes next time.

But please, would you suggest someone that applied for passport in february but need it around June or July is not serious enough or did not apply earlier enough? Please, we need to be conscious with our statement so we don't add more to the problem, personally I am getting more depressed because of this.

My experience today at Lagos passport office .
I did my capturing first week in March.

It was DIY route.

This morning I decided to visit the immigration office and hoping my passport would be ready (because in my dream I saw that it was ready)

On getting there this morning, I went straight to the collection room, there I met some people who also came for pick up.

We were asked to drop our collection slips.

When it was mine turn, the collection officer checked the system and wrote DU on my collection slips (meaning Data Uploaded) and advised me to contact my facilitator. He said, my passport can be printed today or tomorrow and that my file is okay and I do not have any problem whatsoever, that I only need to talk to my facilitator about the current status of my passport and that my facilitator will know what to do at this stage.

And remember, I said it was a DIY route, and no facilitator .
At this stage, I am a bit stuck .

Nigeria system is really frustrating.

we have to blame them... if everyone refuses to pay these outrageous sums and leave these corruption reeked officers for sometime they will change... instead any amount they call, no one wants to do due diligence and handle their issues themselves.
Platform has been put online.
Pay online and get all your documentation right and go and face these ppl. This is becoming too appalling especially in the south!!!

Send a mail to NIMC customer care they will respond, They also respond on IG so you can also DM them there. The two options was how I resolved mine

Could it be that the Name/DOB on the NIN does not match EXACTLY as it is on the passport information? You may want to make sure.

Na wa o, Be like say you offend person. I also did DIY at ikoyi, Servicom outlined all the signatures I needed on my file for me & directed me to the offices, I just asked any senior officer politely whenever I got confused on the next step. Did everything & submitted back to servicom & they checked everything. Reason why I'm suprised at how yours turned out.

DIY? And servicom collected your file without checking for complete signatures from the long room & One particular office? Totaling at least 6-8. Even more suprising is the fact that they didnt reject your file at the point of capture. You probably missed some steps. Reason they called you back.

They're insisting they won't capture me unless I get the officer that did it for me ���

I was at their Ikoyi Office on Friday. They gave me a brown file to process my passport application. However, i noticed a lot of people with white files. I then asked one of the officers the reason why? He said the people that go through officers are the ones with white files, while people that process their application are given brown file. This is to differentiate and allow them to know who to focus on.

To make matters interesting, after capturing, they collect files and tell people with brown files to submit theirs at Servicom.

With all those same officers still working there, the 6 weeks passport project is more of an illusion.


No wonder the stupid officers keep asking me who is my processor anytime i visit their office in ikoyi for my passport update...Why are people so wicked in Nigeria? Must we have a processor before we can be attended to?
