Crime / Chinese Man Accused Of Murder Attempt In Ogun Flees by babaagba1000: 9:05am On Mar 18
A Chinese national, identified simply as Yespon, is currently on the run after allegedly using an electric shocker on one of his father’s employees, known as Kelvin Godwin, at a timber factory in Ijebu-Ode.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred at a timber forest on the Ijebu-Ode-Owa Express Road last Tuesday at about 5.30pm.

Our correspondent learnt that trouble started when Godwin, a factory worker, was suspected of stealing flour believed to belong to Yespon’s father, known as Yenchingin.

While an argument ensued between the two over the stolen flour, the absconding suspect was said to have drawn out the electric shocker and used it on Godwin, causing the victim to lose consciousness. The victim, it was learnt, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment by other factory workers, including Yespon’s father.

A police source privy to the incident exclusively told PUNCH Metro that the suspect fled the scene after allegedly committing the crime. When contacted on Sunday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and told our correspondent that the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters had intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Odutola said, “There was an allegation that Godwin stole flour that belongs to the factory he works at. An investigation reveals the factory is owned by Yespon’s father. The suspect allegedly used an electric shocker on Godwin and fled the scene.

“Our men in the division have intensified efforts to arrest the suspect. However, the father, who is the owner of the factory, has been with the victim, who has been responding to treatment, in the hospital to offer him support. Meanwhile, the case will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”

An earlier incident reportedly occurred in Kano when another Chinese man, Frank Geng-Quangrong, allegedly stabbed his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummukulsum Sani, to death in Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso LGA of Kano, in September 2022.

The suspect was arrested and is currently standing trial for culpable homicide before a Kano High Court.

Health / Hazardous Food Preservation Methods by babaagba1000: 10:30am On Mar 15
Thisday

The food we consume and export should meet the required standards

At a recent event convened by the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) in Abuja, experts agreed on the urgent need to tackle the high rate of food poisoning in Nigeria. With about 200,000 fatalities annually, some of the harmful practices said to be the cause include the use of carbide to ripen fruits, tendering of meat with paracetamol by food vendors, using formaldehyde to preserve fish, injecting poultry with hormones to conceal disease, and harmful food colouring, among others. Yet, according to Eva Edwards, a director with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), food-borne diseases disproportionately affect the most vulnerable of the society – the infants, young children, pregnant women, the elderly and the immune-compromised people.

It is noteworthy that some of these problems are obvious and have been repeatedly pointed out on this page. Unfortunately, relevant authorities have done little or nothing about them. In 2015, for instance, the European Union (EU) banned the exportation of beans from Nigeria on grounds that the level of pesticide was dangerously high. The ban still subsists. Many of our produce shipped out of the country at great cost have also been rejected and shipped back because of their mode of preservation or shelf life. Indeed, only few days ago, the World Trade Organisation said many of the country’s agricultural exports are being rejected because they do not meet the sanitary and other health requirements.

Some of the meat and poultry sold in the open market are reportedly preserved with dangerous chemicals. “They inject chickens and make them look so nice and attractive. But people will rather go for them or even dig up buried ones by customs because they free meat,” a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh once said about the harmful chickens and related foods smuggled across the borders because of the manner in which they are preserved.

A few years ago, there was panic over beans, a popular staple food. The worry came as result of the public health implications of misapplied chemicals on food consumers. A video had gone viral on how some retailers were using Sniper, a powerful insecticide, to preserve beans before bagging it for sale. The practice was reportedly commonplace, often used to eliminate or protect beans from weevils’ infection. It has also been established that other food items like banana, plantain, corn, sorghum, apples, and vegetables are improperly preserved or hurriedly ripened with dangerous chemicals.

Sniper, a dichlorovinyl, available across the counter, is a dangerous chemical used for killing bugs and insects. The Coordinating Director of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, (NAQS) Vincent Isegbe said sniper is injurious to health, if applied as a pesticide. “Sniper in beans is a material equivalent of death in pot,” he said. “So, it may not be an exaggeration to say that sniper in beans is a weapon of mass destruction.” Calcium Carbide, another dangerous substance used by welders, is also often used by many retailers in the ripening of banana and plantain and other produce for quick money.

Over the years, hundreds of families had perished after the consumption of contaminated food items either at home or at parties. Since the causes of many of these deaths were never accurately determined, it is becoming increasingly clear that some of them could have been caused by wilful contamination of foods. Authorities in the agriculture sector, at all levels, must ensure that useful and relevant information – from planting to harvesting and preservation- is passed on to farmers and retailers, many of whom are unaware of the risks. There is therefore the crying need to ensure that the food we put on the table for our citizens or the ones we export meet required standards. It is in our collective interest as a nation.
Crime / Lawyers Berate Anambra CP Over Involvement In Investment Club by babaagba1000: 10:01am On Mar 15
Some legal practitioners, on Monday, criticised the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, for engaging in business activities that could bring disrepute to the Nigeria Police Force.

This is just as the force continues to keep mum over the allegations levelled against the CP by some aggrieved members of ATIC Enterprise.

PUNCH Metro learned that the club is fashioned in a cooperative society model and is said to be an online investment set up by Adeoye, whereby members invest money to create wealth for themselves.

PUNCH Metro had reported that some aggrieved members of the club said they made investments in the purchase of landed properties but were yet to receive allocations after five years of payment. In separate interviews with PUNCH Metro, they also accused the CP of premeditated fraud, a claim Adeoye denied in another telephone chat with our correspondent.

Adeoye had told PUNCH Metro, “We bought land as a cooperative. And we have one document for it in the name of the cooperative for each purchase. Am I supposed to tear the document into pieces and then begin to share them? We are an online investment platform. We published all the receipts and payments on our page, and every member sees them.”

The members had earlier petitioned the Inspector-General of Police on February 1, 2024, detailing their grievances. However, since the acknowledgement of the petition on February 5, 2024, which was sighted by our correspondent on Monday, the members claimed they had yet to receive any correspondence from the police force.
Phones / Undersea Cable Cuts Disrupt Data, Voice Services Along African West Coast by babaagba1000: 9:15am On Mar 15
A combination of cable cuts, resulting in equipment faults on the major undersea cables along the West African Coast, have negatively impacted data and telecom services in several countries of West Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cote de Ivoire, among others.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, said that it occurred somewhere in Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal, with an attendant disruption in Portugal.

The Commission said that the Cable companies – West African Cable System (WACS) and African Coast to Europe (ACE) in the West Coast route from Europe have experienced faults, while SAT3 and MainOne have downtime.“Similar undersea cables providing traffic from Europe to the East Coast of Africa, like Seacom, Europe India Gateway (EIG), Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE1), are said to have been cut at some point around the Red Sea, resulting in degradation of services across on these routes,” a statement signed by Reuben Muoka, the NCC Director of Press said.

“In Nigeria and other West African countries, Internet access and speed have experienced disruptions in the networks of service providers in the affected countries.

“Operators of these cables have commenced repairs already, and services are gradually being restored.

“They have promised to work round the clock to ensure that services are restored to the affected countries within the shortest possible time.

“It is important to bring this information to the knowledge of corporate and individual consumers on these services,” he added.
Politics / Unlawful Killing: Court Remands Adeleke’s Appointee by babaagba1000: 9:08am On Mar 15
A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointee, Oyeyemi Olalekan, over alleged acts of terrorism.

Olalekan, popularly called ‘Emir’, a member of Osun State Transport Management System, was docked for conspiracy, unlawful killing and malicious damage.

The police arraigned him on a 10-count charge of allegedly committing the offences between February and November 2022.

The defendant was alleged to have unlawfully shot one Oyewale Sharif to death in Ayetoro area, Osogbo, on November 28, 2022.

He was also said to have killed one Tope and Muraina Olayiwole at CMS junction on February 27, 2022, and shot Tajudeen Rabiu to death at Ayepe, Ilesa garage, Osogbo, on August 5, 2022.

The alleged crime, according to the charge, contravened the provision of section 26 (1)(a) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, and section 2(2)(h) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2013.

Olalekan, who was first arraigned on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty to the charges read to him in court.

Afterwards, his counsel, Edmund Biriomoni, presented the bail application to the court.

But, at the hearing of the bail application on Thursday, the prosecution led by Rabiu Usman, pleaded that the court grant him adjournment to file his objection to the bail of the defendant.

Justice Emmanuel Ayoola ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to March 19, to allow the prosecution to move the counter bail application and for its hearing

The 26-year-old has starred for Fenerbahce this season, playing a key role in their quest to win the league title.
Politics / FEC Allocates N759 Billion For Road Construction by babaagba1000: 9:52am On Mar 14

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has given the green light for the allocation of N759 billion for the construction of roads linking Obajana to Benin and Isheri to Ogun.

The FEC gave its approval yesterday for the allocation of N873.23 billion towards implementing three projects nationwide under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Works.

During a discussion with journalists at the State House in Abuja following the FEC meeting, Works Minister Dave Umahi mentioned several projects, including the Obajana-Benin Road, Isheri-Ogun Road, and the Outer Marina Shoreline protection.

The minister emphasized that the increase in cement prices is unrelated to the concrete road policy implemented by his ministry.

Umahi announced that funding has been allocated for various road projects, including additional funding for the Obajana-Benin dualisation project, the Isheri-Ogun Road, and the Outer Marina Shoreline protection.

He said: “Today we’ve got augmentation approved for Obajana in Lokoja to Benin Road, a total of 244 km and 489 km dualized. Recall that in 2012, this project was awarded to four contractors – CGC; Mothercat; Dantata & Sawoe and RCC at a total cost of N122 billion and that was for light rehabilitation.

“Around 2018, the past administration reviewed the project and dualised it and that’s why you have a total of 489 km and now got ‘No-Objection’ from the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPP).

“When I came on board in August, we were supposed to present the ‘no-objection’ to FEC in line with due process and we decided to review the project, one, to determine whether the dualisation was desirable given the economic challenges and two, to see the texture of the soil and what to do.

“We had to restore the project now, but we didn’t increase the cost. We got approval for argumentation from N122 billion to N897 billion. The contractors were off-site because they would not be working and they would not be paid based on the new basic rate. We got them back to the site and today (yesterday) we got approval.”

“The Council also gave its approval for the allocation of N2.23 billion to the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency. This funding will be utilized to repair and maintain the road infrastructure connecting Isheri North to Ogun State.

“Now, under FERMA, we got approval for constructing Isheri North, Lagos route, which is to connect Ogun State. This is an alternative route to Lagos – Shagamu Road, and we will take this Lagos-Shagamu when completed. But by law, you only toll a federal road when you have an alternative.

“This approval of about N2.23 billion to connect Isheri North to Ogun State is a breakthrough that has freed the Lagos-Shagamu for tolling.”

Celebrities / Idris Elba On Building A Wind-powered Eco-city. by babaagba1000: 9:18am On Mar 14
Abu Dhabi
CNN

British actor Idris Elba, best known for roles including Stringer Bell from “The Wire” and John Luther from the eponymous TV show, has ambitions beyond the screen. For his latest role, he wants to build a “smart eco-city” that runs off wind power on an island in the West African country of Sierra Leone.

Sherbro Island is known for its pristine beaches which are a nesting ground for green sea turtles. Sherbro Alliance Partners, co-founded by Elba in 2019, is collaborating with the government to develop a special economic zone on the island to attract people from around the world to live, work, invest and play.

The actor was brought up in London, but his mom is from Ghana and his dad is from Sierra Leone. He has acted as a brand ambassador for the latter country and is a strong advocate for building up the African creative arts economy.

Last week, during a talk at the Investopedia investment conference in Abu Dhabi, Elba championed the creative industries and called for more investment to support innovation and growth. There, he spoke with CNN’s Becky Anderson about his big ideas for the future and looked back at some big hits from his past.

The following interview has been edited for length and clarity. Elba: First of all, it’s a beautiful little island off the coast of Sierra Leone. It’s about the same size as Chicago, there are about 40,000 inhabitants on it in different regions across the island. And Sherbro Island used to historically be the point of no return in the slave trade. It was where England had their capital city of Sierra Leone [when it was a colony], in a city called Bonthe, which is still there. And the relics of the city are still there: the grid system, road system, the old houses, the churches. It’s an incredibly historically rich part of Sierra Leone. There are 19 miles of beachfront there.

Sherbro Island, off the coast of Sierra Leone.
Sherbro Island, off the coast of Sierra Leone. Sherbro Alliance Partners
At some junction, my business partner Siaka Stevens, who is the grandson of the former president [of the same name who served from 1971 to 1985], said: “Look, someone needs to cultivate Sherbro Island for tourism.” That was seven years ago. Where we are now is that we partnered with the government to figure out a plan for how we can bring in tourism. Well, it started as tourism – now we’re building a smart, eco-dynamic city.

This is Sierra Leone: it’s one of the poorest countries in the world, so investment isn’t rushing through the door. So what we needed to do is understand how to package an investment opportunity around this beautiful island without destroying it, being climate-conscious, and being conscious that there is a youth culture across Africa of the average age of about 20, that wants something.

I’ve suddenly found myself in the middle of trying to figure out how to pull this together, and what I did was get the best-in-class thinkers on how to build a robust investment framework for the international players to look at Africa differently. And that’s what Sherbro Island is. That’s a very long-winded way of saying it’s my retirement plan.

CNN: What’s the appetite been, as far as interest is concerned, from investors?

Elba: Huge amounts of curiosity, huge amounts of goodwill. There’s no doubt, that everyone understands that the opportunities of Africa are incredible. There’s a leapfrog opportunity with Africa when it considers the emerging economies, the emergence of tech, and the emergence of the populace: 1.4 billion people across a land span that big, has room and space to grow.

CNN: I know that you are massively eager to better promote the creative industry pillar across Africa. Explain where you see the gaps and where you see the opportunities.

Elba: The opportunity for Africa is to reframe how not only Africans see themselves via telling stories, but the opportunity is to have the world see Africa differently. And that’s where the creative industries can play a pivotal role.

The fulcrum of the creative arts is that every single type of industry falls within it. You and I are speaking from microphones that are manufactured somewhere and based on their use in this industry, the cameras we are being shot on, the makeup that we’re both wearing. This is such a massive intersection of industries that create jobs and create opportunities. If we look at the creative industries as just singing, dancing and telling stories, we’re limiting what it is. It is an incredible opportunity for engineering, creativity, storytelling heritage and propaganda.

We need support from governments saying the creative arts industry does need support and an incentive for it to grow. I’ve made nine films in Africa, nine or eight films. Each time I’m there, I see the opportunity growing, I see the quality of the work growing, and I just want to contribute more.

CNN: Take me back through your career to date. What are the standout moments?

Elba: I was on “Absolutely Fabulous” when I was a wee lad and that was a standout moment because it was my first bit of comedy, but it was with the legends.

CNN: How did you get the job in “The Wire”?

Elba: I auditioned extensively over four weeks. I auditioned in New York. It was a tough gig to do. Alexa Fogel is an amazing casting director. She always has an eye for an amazing talent and she allowed me to audition for it, but she told me: “Whatever you do, don’t walk in there with your English accent. This is about Baltimore, they’re not interested in East London.” And that was it, I auditioned amongst some amazing young actors, and on my last audition, I got the job.

CNN: Do you look back on “The Wire”? It’s one of the original box series, it’s going to go down in history for a whole load of reasons – first of all, it was epic.

Elba: No, I haven’t watched most of “The Wire.” It’s just because it’s an incredible time of my life. I can’t watch it through that lens.

I’ve racked up some box sets. I’ve got “The Wire” to get through. I’ve got “Luther” seasons one to five to get to.

CNN: What was your experience of living in the United States and is it somewhere you go back to?

Elba: My experience has been positive. I mean, moving to the States as a young actor was like, “You’re doing what? You’re going to Hollywood?” It’s more commonplace now. For the most part, when I got there, it was tough. That was a struggle. But it was positive. I grew in confidence. I went through a very tough time; at one point I was homeless. In my early years, “The Wire” changed my life completely, and my daughter was born at the same time. So that changed my life. I’m always in and out of America. I live in England now, closer to my mum. My dad’s passed and so I’m home in England now, but I’m always there.
Health / Paul Alexander: ‘man In The Iron Lung’ Dies After Living In Tank For 70 Years by babaagba1000: 8:57am On Mar 14
A man who lived inside an ‘iron lung’ for seven decades after contracting polio as a child has died.

Paul Alexander was paralysed from the neck down after contracting the virus in 1952. He died on Monday after being taken to hospital with Covid.

When he was six years old, Mr Alexander was rushed to hospital after falling ill with a fever and aching limbs.
His condition deteriorated and a doctor performed a tracheotomy on him to remove the congestion from his lungs following his polio infection.
He woke up inside a metal cylinder, known as an ‘iron lung’ which he lived in for most of the rest of his life, covering his entire body except his head.

The iron lung acted as a diaphragm to help Mr Alexander breathe after the polio infection destroyed his internal functions.

The device worked by air being sucked out of the cylinder by a set of leather bellows powered by a motor, and the negative pressure forced his lungs to expand. When the air was pumped back in, the change in pressure deflated his lungs, keeping him alive.

At first, he was unable to move or talk inside the metal casing, and would often go unwashed because he was unable to communicate with the nurses looking after him.

He was eventually moved from the hospital to his home in Dallas, Texas, and his father placed a clear plastic stick, flat and about a foot long with a pen attached, which he used to write and push buttons on devices such as mobile phones.

Later, he learned to breathe by himself and was able to spend short periods outside the iron lung and got into university, obtaining a law degree and even practising law.

He was one of many children placed inside iron lungs during an outbreak of polio in the US during the 1950s. Iron lungs were also used in the UK. The last person to use an iron lung in the UK died in December 2017, aged 75. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, frequent epidemics saw polio become one of the most feared diseases in the world.

A major outbreak in New York City in 1916 killed more than 2,000 people, and the worst recorded US outbreak in 1952 killed over 3,000.

“I knew if I was going to do anything with my life, it was going to have to be a mental thing,” he told The Guardian in 2020. Tributes flooded in for Mr Alexander following his death.

“Thanks for sharing your story with us.”

His brother Philip previously thanked all those who had donated to the fundraiser.

“I am so grateful to everybody who donated to my brother’s fundraiser,” he said.

Mr Alexander used a plastic stick to communicate (YouTube/SBSK)
“It allowed him to live his last few years stress-free. It will also pay for his funeral during this difficult time.

“It is incredible to read all the comments and know that so many people were inspired by Paul.”

Polio is a serious infection that is now very rare in both the US and UK because of a vaccination programme.

It is now only found in a few countries and the chance of getting it is very low.

Health officials declared a national incident after the polio virus was identified in sewage samples taken from London between February and May 2022. Still, no associated cases appeared to have been identified.

There have been no confirmed cases of paralysis due to polio caught in the UK since 1984.
Sports / Mbappé Scores As PSG Beats Nice 3-1 To Reach French Cup Semifinals by babaagba1000: 8:47am On Mar 14
Kylian Mbappé returned to the starting lineup and took just 14 minutes to score as Paris Saint-Germain beat Nice 3-1 to reach the French Cup semifinals on Wednesday.

He started the past two league games on the bench as part of coach Luis Enrique's rotation policy, which most observers accept involves leaving out Mbappé to prepare for next season without him.

Mbappé looked sharp, expertly swapping waist-high passes with midfielder Fabián Ruiz and putting the ball between goalkeeper Marcin Bułka's legs for his 35th goal of the season. Ten minutes later, Mbappé hit the post with a deflected shot.

PSG has won the trophy a record 14 times — but not since 2021 — and faced a Nice team that is the only one to beat PSG in the league this season.

Bułka made an awful blunder for the second goal, botching a clearance and spinning around unaware of where the ball was landing. Ruiz profited to roll it into an empty net in the 33rd.

But PSG's defence remains vulnerable, as it has been for several years.

Nice pulled a goal back four minutes later when striker Gaëtan Laborde — who scored in September when Nice won in Paris — was unmarked on the right of the penalty area and guided a low half-volley into the left corner.

Winger Jeremie Boga and right-back Jordan Lotomba missed chances for Nice early into the second half as PSG's midfield struggled. Nice was punished in the 60th when central defender Lucas Beraldo headed in a cross inadvertently flicked on by Nice defender Dante, who was trying to clear the ball.

The semifinals pit second-tier Valenciennes against Lyon on April 2. PSG will host Rennes the next day.

Sports / New Super Eagles Head Coach To Pick His Assistants by babaagba1000: 9:24am On Mar 13
The next Super Eagles head coach will be allowed to pick his assistants.

Many coaches (local and expatriates) have already applied for the position.

According to Complete Sports, the coach, who gets the job will be handed the responsibility of picking his two assistants and possibly goalkeepers’ trainer. The decision by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is to ensure that there are no rancour or philosophical differences between the head coach and his assistants.

The NFF is expected to name a new head coach for the Super Eagles next month.

Finidi George, who was one of the assistants to former head coach, Jose Peseiro, is expected to lead the team for the friendlies against Ghana and Mali later this month.

Sports / AFCON 2023: Douala Faces Suspension As Age Fraud Scandal Rocks Cameroon by babaagba1000: 8:50am On Mar 13
Wilfried Nathan Douala, the youngest member of Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations squad, finds himself embroiled in controversy as he is among 62 players suspended for age fraud.

Douala’s inclusion in Cameroon’s squad earlier this year raised eyebrows, given his lack of caps and his status as a player for Victoria United in Cameroon’s first division.Despite being uncapped, Douala’s registration for the AFCON listed his birthday as May 15, 2006, making him the tournament’s youngest player at 17 years old.

However, Douala now faces suspension after being named on a 62-man list of players accused of falsifying their ages by the Cameroonian Football Federation.

The scandal extends beyond Douala, with 15 clubs in Cameroon having at least one player suspended for age fraud.

Despite not making an appearance during AFCON, Douala was often seen dancing with his teammates on the way to the dressing room.

This isn’t the first time Cameroon has grappled with age fraud allegations.

Last year, 21 members of the country’s 30-player squad failed age tests ahead of the Under-17 AFCON tournament in Algeria.

In response to the recurring issue, Samuel Eto’o, president of Cameroon’s football governing body, mandated age tests for every player to “put an end to the tampering with civil status records which have, in the past, tarnished the image of Cameroon football.”

Age tests involve MRI scans of the wrist to assess bone fusion in the joint, aiming to ensure the accuracy of players’ ages and maintain the integrity of the sport.

Wilfried Nathan Douala, the youngest member of Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations squad, finds himself embroiled in controversy as he is among 62 players suspended for age fraud.

Douala’s inclusion in Cameroon’s squad earlier this year raised eyebrows, given his lack of caps and his status as a player for Victoria United in Cameroon’s first division.

Despite being uncapped, Douala’s registration for the AFCON listed his birthday as May 15, 2006, making him the tournament’s youngest player at 17 years old.

Stolen:
Buhari handed our slot in the House of Reps to the South west who now hold two position in one House of Reps. No problem!

Buhari handed the South East position in the military to the North East who also hold two position in Nigeria Military. No Problem!

This has continued and we just take note. Even the British recognise Nigeria as three major tribe with hausa, igbo and yoruba.

Where is the igbo representation in the house of reps?

Have numerous igbo officers not died fighting in Borno?

Where is the igbo representation in the administrative ranks of the military?

There where six provisions, why should any region take two while another region gets none? Is that justice and rule of law that Buhari talks about but knows nothing about? Buhari has no principle.

What a clumsy excuse from a failed governor from a failed party.

very clumsy fools....these idiots just sit back and wait for federal allocation, then they will remove their own thereby short changing the civil servants. Don't they generate revenue internally?...what do they do with all the funds they get from state taxes?can they account for that?.so annoying angry angry
