They pass the ball to a winger..the winger crosses the ball to the centre hoping for a miracle...50% of the time it is either a corner or a goal kick...the games are now boring..what ever happened to creativity? Dribbling 5 players and wiring the shot into the goal..what happened to sweet passes? What about the through balls? If you want to sleep peacefully and quickly just watch african teams playing....arrant nonsense |
achina boy: B.u.l.l.crap,slave or no slave,we got to work with what we have, sometimes ,we have no choice or control of certain situation due to whom we are or where we comne from or where we find ourselves so think before you write,am blackSo I am yellow abi? This is the problem right here...we tell ourselves that we have no control when we actually have all the power...change your mindset and from there we can change the world |
ayobase: You are not far from the truth if only the probability of you being black is 100%Come to think of it...look at the way we Nigerians accept and worship our leaders...the same leaders who steal the money meant for the development of our country..we accept that we are followers and we have no power over them...we accept that since they are in power it is their god-given right to loot...we accept everything our pastors tell us no matter how bizarre or ridiculous it sounds..when you think about it we are truly slaves |
The movie Django got me thinking about black people and slavery. It is a wonder that in all that period, black people could not stand together and fight against the white folks enslaving them. There are even stories about black chiefs selling their fellow black men for money. Even today the black men are thought to be inferior in terms of IQ and creativity. It is no surprise that many black people are in prisons and Africa as a whole is said to be the saddest continent. This is an excerpt from the movie Django. [Showing Django and Schultz a human skull] This is Ben. He's an old joe that lived around here for a long time, and I do mean a long damn time. Old Ben here took care of my daddy and my daddy's daddy. Till he up and keeled over one day, old Ben took care of me. Growin' up the son of a huge plantation owner in Mississippi puts a white man in contact with a whole lotta black faces. I spent my whole life here, right here in Candieland, surrounded by black faces. Now seein' 'em every day, day in and day out, I only had one question: why don't they kill us? Now right out there on that porch, three times a week for fifty years, old Ben here would shave my daddy with a straight razor. Now, if I was old Ben, I woulda cut my daddy's goddamn throat, an' it wouldn't-a taken me no fifty years of doin' neither. But he never did. Why not? See, the science of phrenology is crucial to understandin' the separation of our two species. [Picking up a hacksaw] And the skull of the African here? The area associated with submissiveness is larger than any human or any other sub-human species on planet Earth. [Saws a piece off the back of the skull, brushes it off, and holds it up] If you examine this piece of skull here you'll notice three distinct dimples. Here, here and here. Now, if I was holdin' the skull of an Issac Newton or a Gallileo, these three dimples would be found in the area of the skull most associated with creativity. But this is the skull of old Ben. And in the skull of old Ben, unburdened by genius, these three dimples exist in the area of the skull most associated with servility. [To Django] Now bright boy, I will admit you are pretty clever. But if I took this hammer here, and I bashed in your skull with it, you would have the same three dimples...in the same place...as old Ben'. What are your thoughts on this? |

BedLam: Every aspect of that movie should be earning an award, imagine a 2hour long piece with so much work. who would'v expected a soundtrack from Rickross and 2pac.....Best movie of the moment.Honestly...from the beginning to the end I was so hooked...my fave part was when the Dr refused to shake Di Caprio's hand then he shot him in the heart and said 'I am sorry...I couldn't resist'...that guy deserves an oscar. |
from the trailer i watched, the blacks looked rather modern , as in they seemed very clean, neat and yuppie-ish, not like the image generally associated with blacks from that era. the name of the heroine, was also unusual- was she supposed to be a slave? ![]() in addition, leonardo di caprio had a striking resemblance to the villain in wild wild west [was it the accent?], why was that. anyway, will watch the movie sometime.
That's because the main character was not a slave anymore |
What do you guys think about the movie? For me it is one of the best films I have watched this year. The whip marks on the back of the black slaves and the way the slaves were treated was an eye opener. I really felt angry and sad that human beings could do that to their fellow humans. Anyway what's your opinion?

Odunnu: I was in a meeting sometime last year and this speaker Praise Fowowe asked everybody who had been abused to raise their hands, i felt like i was the only one who wasnt. You dont have to keep it to yourself my dear, meet a councellor if you still get depressed and they should help you get back a whole life.I was not abused but I can imagine how it feels for them. It is a painful experience and some would never say it out. It was this audio clip that made me understand a little as to how they feel. Some even blame themselves for the act. audioboo.fm/boos/1150952-the-only-explanation-you-ll-need-of-how-child-abuse-can-go-unreported.mp3 |
People say that time heals all wounds but some wounds don't heal at all, we only get used to the pain. Some of us have been abused as children either by the house help or a trusted relative. It is an experience that scars a person forever because many paedophiles have reluctantly reported that they were abused when they were little hence the continuous circle of abuse. It is a secret many don't want to share but it feels good to talk about it. How can we prevent such evil act from occurring? What advice will you give to someone that has been abused? |
The gospel truth is that they all work...I used to think that you have to be patient or spend and spend or take her on numerous dates before I can get some..I did not know that all you need are simple lines like 1-10..Many girls here shouting fish brain and mumu girls have all fallen for one line or the other so guys use your head..Understand the girl well, read her moods, know her character and you will know the line that will be effective...A trial will convince you and confuse her. |
manny4life: Good transportation options, however, there's no way a train will travel at 320mph to get to your destination in a short while even if it was high speed trains. No matter what, airports play a significant role in the economy, most airlines are dirty cheep and get you quicker and faster than trains or even boat.Ofcourse Airports play an important role in the development of any country but we cannot say Airplanes are more important than railway transport |
^^^Could be the gov't has looked for and waited for more private investment in the aviation sector, but for different reasons such investments just are not coming in at the rate desired to make the much needed impact; hence the need for gov't intervention. Though the funds should be monitored from the time it leaves the bank, to the time the 'brand new' planes land in Nigeria; they shouldn't trust the operators or take their word that the funds would be invested as instructed......this is Nigeria!
That means this government has failed so they are resorting to outdated tactics to try and make things work for now then when 2015 comes around they will try to remain in government and loot again. The priority of the government Is to find ways to achieve rapid development. Imagine if the transportation sector grows at a rate that is generally acceptable...Fast and slow trains, Sophisticated seaports,Travel boats,Transport helicopters, Cargo ships e.t.c...The revenue from this would drive the economy to greater heights...It's all about suffering now then reaping the rewards later. |
