MrsNwaAmaikpe:It’s a shame you could talk this way. Show us your own house that you built @30. Think with ur brain not ur azz!!! |
decatalyst:You should say that to your 'father' Idiot!! |

[quote author=decatalyst post=49049284]In as much as I do don't support extramarital affairs, cruelty in a barbaric way like this should be met with stiff punishment. Having someone like her has a mom could be a nightmare for a generation. #DangerousLove[/quote Did u pass English at all? Sentences like this makes me wonder how terrible youths of nowadays speaks English. |
Atlantian:I am 100% certain that you are a dead man walking!! Jesus said, they see me, but knows me not. Sin to Holy Spirit has no forgiveness, cos Jesus is Lord and HE is the spirit of the LIVING GOD. You will never see him when u die but u will see him if u genuinely repented of your sin. People like you are in hell blaming themselves for not accepting JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR LORD AND SAVIOR. ACCEPT HIM TODAY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!! HE DIED AND ROSE AGAIN SO THAT YOU MIGHT NOT DIE THE SECOND DEATH. Get a Bible and study why He died for you. |
sextail:That's not true. O Level certificate don't expire. This is a lifetime certificate you get after you have successfully completed an high school education. Or am I wrong? I obtained my O level in the '90s and it is valid up till tomorrow. I have it on my CV along with my Phd degree. My employer or any professional institutions has never said I have an expired O level. This is very funny o. Which way forward to those in Nigeria? |
I think it should be pronounced oku-da-aya domi do mi do. not okudaya.. or am i wrong? because i was so confused initially when i read the headings... Others might correct me if am wrong because I know I am a proud Yoruba man and I know all the phonetics of my language.. |
drylman:People that are crazy abt it are just teenagers. You will never see an adult saying these things. People should just make their comment, no one cares about who comments first or whatever! |
I was actually waiting all these days to see where this arguement ends. So its finally over! Wow!!! I do really enjoy all the arguement, intelligent contributions and educative informations that everyone that participated in this thread made. Thank you guys and goodnight! |
Nigeria may be eligible after 5yrs if the DV lottery wouldn't have been totally suspended by that time cos of the new immigration act that is still pending with the senate. If the bill is successful, then that's the end of lottery's stories. |
Emasel:Most Universities in SA offers bursaries to international applicants. What you need do is to make a lot of research about the type of scholarship/bursaries that you can meet the requirements. Once you satisfy the scholarship/bursary requirements, trust me, you'll shine. |
Great01:You're most welcome! |
yemisife:@Yemisi, I guess you'll find someone that'll answer you. |
@Great, I did my Masters many years ago. In my case, I had a full scholarship coupled with monthly stipend at that time. If I remembered correctly when I applied to study in my Engineering field, I applied for scholarship at the time of my Master's application. You can still apply for a bursary if you qualify for it and the expiry date is still valid. You need to have at least 2.1 or above 75% ratings. Once you have those, then you can be rest assured that you'll get the support from your school of choice. Normally, you'll be taken as a graduate assistant and will be reimbursed with your monthly stipend depending on your supervisor and department. Most of the bursaries are for South African citizens but there are bursaries for foreign nationals on merit as well. You'll be given a South African citizenship when however you completed a Phd cos you might have spent over 5yrs while studying. In my case, I became a South African citizens after I got my Phd. So you have an open source in getting this info by checking the website of the school you're enrolled with and the department where you'll study. Hope this helps abit. I would be more than willing to provide more details as you need them. Cheers! |
richyben38:Your $1k is enough for the month duration you'll spend here. However, this depends on whether you're lodging in an hotel or having a friend accommodating you. If the first case is ur situation, then I'll suggest you come with more money cos of hotel bills. If however, ur situation is the second scenario, then $1k is ok for you provided you have a return ticket. Many mistakes that Nigerians make while deciding to come here is that, they really do not know that South Africa is not home to Nigerians. What I mean is that, there's high hatred for Nigerians here and no jobs at all here except if you climb the ladder of success like me via studying for your masters and then you can hope of getting a good job and making a dream living that you always wanted. The truth is, many Nigerians are here suffering because they can't find jobs. Many of them do not have good education that can catapult them to get bursary by doing masters. So when they get here, they become stunned at what they see and they won't want to go back to Nigeria cos they've bragged to family n friends that they're traveling abroad. Meanwhile, most of them have good life in Nigeria, but on getting here, they become stucked(no way forward, and backward is impossible) so they become lay-about and often leaves via TC and that's why Nigerian embassy here usually questions them why they are here in the first place. I made that explanation exclusively so that you don't find yourself in such situation if you only want to come here to escape Nigeria via tourist visa, my brother, I will tell you to think twice, or otherwise, if you have money, you may come here and do business or simply further your education to help you get chances of being employed here otherwise, a lot of Nigerians have ended up becoming, barbers, CD sellers etc etc. Just my $1 advice. Take care and goodluck with your dreams!! |
Who is updating the scores? Its Nigeria 2-1 Sudan |
onatisi:You need to be in US to actually know how important and sweet to be a US citizen. I want to be a US citizen for the fun of it. I have lived in US and so I know wht am saying. Take it or leave it, I can become a US citizens by living in US for some years, but my job is paying me more than wht I can get there. Its people like you that needs the visa badly. I have a 10yr visa that I only use 7times with 8yrs validity still left. So now? |
adconline:Do what you have to do. I don't have a problem with lottery. One thing is, its good to be a US Citizen, and even though I have a 10yr multiple US visa, I still desire to be a citizen thru DV lottery. I mean, its a free gift and one have nothing to loose by playing. So wena, eat, sleep and think DV lottery. Me, I can enter and leave US anyday, anytime I wish to. Chikena!!! |
onatisi:Am not arguing oooooo. I agree with you in all ramifications. I've got nothing to loose though. |
Anyways, goodnight guys i've got to rest from work. Hope you continue with ur uneding arguement. Cheers!!! |
adconline:DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY CALL DATE OF BIRTH AND YEAR OF BIRTH? If you made a mistake in your date of birth, you can correct it when you're filling your DS 260. You cannot however change your year of birth. I hope you got it? For example, if you wanted to write 12/10/1974 and you wrote 10/12/1974, you can correct it at the time you're filling your immigrant DS260 form. You cannot however change your year of birth from say 12/10/1974 to 12/10/1983. Hope u got it? |
onatisi:There is no link, as individual's situation are different. You email KCC about your concerns and they tell you to proceed. And let me tell you, i live in South Africa and i work here and am also a naturalized South African citizen. I have lived in United States, France and Germany. So what are you trying to tell me about wher you live? What's my business with where you live? Just learn from people and stop being stubborn.. |
onatisi:YOU CAN CHANGE THE DATE OF BIRTH IF YOU MADE A MISTAKE. take it or leave it. All you need do is to explain during your interview. Habba!!! If you were to write 12/10/1974 and you wrote 10/12/1974, do you want to tell me that it cannot be corrected? Think man, think!!! |
adconline:What you know is very limited to wht u dont know. What they were saying is that, you cannot change anything or update anything once your case number is current and has been scheduled for an interview. I knw alot of people who has won this lottery and have to change something or update their data. Dont be too RIGID in accepting that what we are telling you is correct. |
@Onatisi, Mind you, it's not only Nigerians that reads on Nairaland. So many other nationals learns from this site. So please just listen when people with real life experiences tells you something they've gone thru and succeed. |
onatisi:Let me ask you.. HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED AND WON DV LOTTERY? HAVE YOU EVER WRITTEN AN EMAIL TO KCC STATING YOUR REASONS OF SOMETHING YOU NEED TO CORRECT? If you cant answer those questions< then please keep quite and allow people to hear word. Besides, Nigeria is no longer qualify to play. You can play only if you come from an eligible country of which i know you're not. So allow people who want to benefit to do so. |
@Justwise, Maybe i should explain more. If you won DV 2014, it means you actually entered for the lottery in OCT 2012. If you play DV 2015, you actually entered for it in OCT 2013. Do you understand my simple explanation? |
@Justwise, I did mentioned it that he was processing the DV 2015 that he won. Infact you quoted me with the bolded phrase. Didn't you read it well or what? And you're still asking me which year he played? Na wa for u oooo Justwise> |
justwise:He's processing DV 2015 that he played last year 2013. He's a white South African citizen. |
Another thing is, Nigerian mentality is too difficult. We seems difficult to accept and believe our own, but rather accept a white skin's stories be it true or false. The reality is, when you start living abroad, your orientation changes and the way you look at things changes with time to the way someone that lives in Nigeria thinks. I have been to several of the world's biggest cities and I've seen how different they handle things to the way Nigerians handles. So we have to change our orientations and learn to be assertive in our ways of dealing with issues. Pls guys, let's represent ourselves and to tell you, am going to have a dinner with a Nairalander in San Francisco in some coming weeks. So if we develop hatred for ourselves, how then can we meet or at least assist each other with some personal issues? Let's think guys. Enough of arguement my colleagues. |
You know sometimes I do relax and just read comments. it doesn't make sense arguing over nothing. We are here to benefit from each other's experiences. I need to worry more about being close to 40yrs old and I still haven't been listed on the world's most achieved individual. So I would rather ponder more on being successful and learn than to despise other people. By the way! Ya'll invited to my coming 40th bday in 3yrs time, lol. See you at the other side! |
And there's a new form now DS 260. The old form DS230 and DS122 had been abolished. And for the record, I was with someone that won DV 2015 some minutes ago (here in South Africa) and is correcting the DOB of his wife and that of his last son and will send the updated info to KCC via email cos everything is now being submitted online unlike before where winners have to send them thru postal mail. So guys guys, YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR BIOGRAPHICAL INFO WHILE FILLING THE DS260 FORM AND SENDING THE UPDATED INFO TO KCC BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW IS SCHEDULED. YOU CANNOT HOWEVER CHANGED YOUR INFO WHEN YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR IMMIGRANT FORM TO KCC AND YOUR CASE IS CURRENT. YOU MAY HOWEVER ADD NEW EVENT SUCH AS WHEN YOU HAVE A NEW CHILD OR GOT MARRIED!! Please let's not argue about this further or call each other names. Its not worth it guys. Its not. Let's embrace peace. Shalom! |
