Phones › Re: The B29 Story: My Experience At Ikeja Computer Village Today by babakess: 1:19pm On Sep 10, 2015 |
Heazy2015: I had been usiing my Blackberry Bold 5. I think. One of those camera phones and it was clear that The Lord wanted me to upgrade. A new year beckoned and I wanted to enter it with one of those phones that used stylus and were y’know big. So, ladies and gentlemen, I proceeded to proceed to Computer Village to make my dream a reality. I had with me my old phone and about N10, 000. The plan of course was to do a swap, add some cash and get the precious Q10. Gosh, I was so excited.
That’s how I got there with my own two legs and saw those guys that sell phones on the street. Asked one if he had the phone o, he said yes. Can’t remember his name sha, but he sha showed me the Q10. I played with it, even made a demo call and all to be sure it worked. Baba took me off the street saying, “We can’t do business here o, before these agberos will ask you to settle them”. So, he took me to a shed. All this while, he wrapped the Q10 in a white handkerchief saying he didn’t want it to scratch and that’s how he keeps his phones. Me that I wasn’t even paying attention. I was just excited ‘cos my level was about to change. Nigga just give me phone, abeg.
So, we’re chilling in this shed, negotiating. He says I’m going to have to give up my phone and cash. I’m like, “How much?” He says like N15, 000. I’m like, “Just look at this scam. I’ll give you N10, 000 last.” He mutters some shot and agrees. He takes my phone to check it. He then tells me he’s going to stop a bike for me so that no agberos will disturb me immediately we’re done. I’m like Okak. He takes the N10, 000, counts it and then gets a bike for me. He tells me not to stop o because these agberos. So he hands me the handkerchief.
Men and brethren, I got on this bike so excited and told the bike man, “Go go go, don’t stop!!!”
The bike man took me to Allen avenue before I came down. I held on to this handkerchief like my life depended on it. Fam, I was a big boy now. They were going to respect me now. I had officially arrived. Do they know those of us that have Q10? Shiiii.
So I said, let me check my phone jare. I unwrapped the hanky. Children of God, I unwrapped the hanky – and looking at me in all it’s glory was a bright white bar of B29 soap. I looked at the soap, the soap looked at me…I looked at the soap. I poked the soap. Maybe this was a case for the phone. I turned the soap over. No buttons, No screen. I was weak, guys. I was weak. I stood there for some minutes staring at this soap. Look. I took the quickest bike back to Computer Village. Of course, it was instinct. I didn’t see the seller. I still had the bloody soap. One idiot there now asked me, “Broda, why you dey para? Dem no give you the cream wey dey follow the soap?”
Ladies and gentlemen, I had sold my phone and paid extra N10, 000 for B29 soap (with no accompanying cream). That’s most likely the most expensive B29 soap in the history of Nigeria.
I Have to borrow my aunts phone for the main time
You can as well share Ur own experience too HAHAHAHAHAHA SORRY BRO |

vfactor: I had a similar experience in school, in 2008. Dropped my wallet in a bus, after paying for my fair. The wallet contained my school fees and pocket money for the week. 22k precisely. I was devastated. However I got a call 2 days later asking me if I was the owner of so and so( incidently I had written my name and phone number on a piece of paper some days earlier, and put it in my wallet). He returned everything and I couldn't thank him enough! Still have his number saved as "Good Nigerian". Thank you vfactor.............Lets hear ur experience People......GOD BLESS NIGERIA !!!!!! |

In Nigeria today, its hard to experience what hit me late last month.....In Benin City...........I took a bus from point A to B ...when i came down i discover i left my BlackBerry phone in the Bus....i knew it was the bus i left it, because when i came down i was using the WiFi connection from it to reply to a chat on my other phone....then i realized i was no longer connected when the bus zoomed off...i was gutted and started calling it, it rang and rang no one picked ....i was also worried because as you all know the battery for BB is rubbish.....and then it became unavailable...i was very sad ...its going to cost me about 35k to replace it and more over i was disconnected from the internet...couldn't do anything......then later in the Evening by 6pm i called and it was ringing and i was surprise ....when someone picked and spoke with me politely ..He asked where i am and that he was a passenger in the bus and was far off from that route....A glimpse of hope was on my face but i was still skeptical ...He asked me to call him later.....i called around 7pm and i went to where he asked me to meet him..........behold .....this Nigerian saint gave me my phone ...i was wowed with such gesture. ....In Nigeria...worse things have happened to me before but i couldn't comprehend how this turned out, i was overjoyed ....the young man charged the phone so he could return it to the owner ......whats your name i asked, he said Elvis ...what tribe are u He said Bini...i said wow!!!! where do u work ...He said ''A student''...........CAN YOU BEAT THAT These are the kind of Nigerians SAI BABA need to work with to rule this country.....i took his number and let him know i will not forget that Gesture .... There are still wonderful Nigerians out there worth Celebrating!!!! |

I thought TB are traded in specific units. How do one then utilise the interest earned for subsequent purchases? ****Firstly....you can buy any amount u want .....just beat the minimum u bank or discounting house accept.......then ******Secondly you can leave the interest in your savings account...until the 364days tenor ends.....and even if u use the money before the one year ends replace it back and add it to the principal returned to u and re invest at the next bid after maturity ....that way u keep getting a higher and higher interest each year and your wealth just keep snowballing....... |

if young can be age 25...lets say 28YRS.....if u stop saving and compound your 3m with a secure investment like ntb.... after 12years when u are 40years old.....twelve years of compounding.....assuming 15.5%
amount= PRINCIPAL *(1+R/100)^12=3,000,000*(1+0.155)^12=16,908,499
after 8 more years making the individual age 48.
AMOUNT=3000,000*(1+0.155)^20=53,550,180
THATS AFTER TWENTY YEARS ...THE ONLY ENEMY TO THAT PROCESS HERE IS INFLATION WHICH DESTROYS THE VALUE OF UR WEALTH..............BECAUSE 53MILLION TODAY WILL NOT HAVE THE SAME VALUE AS 53MILLION 20YEARS FRM NOW ......BUT HEY SOMEONE THAT HAVE THAT KINDA MONEY AINT BROKE ....IT EXPLODES EACH SUBSEQUENT YEAR FRM THEN ...PROVIDED ITS INVESTED WITH ITS INTEREST ALL THROUGH THE PERIOD. |

adaxxy: please if i want to invest 364 days with N2,260,000 and also same 3m, thank you. insist to move your money else where ....did u fill the form for this last auction.....entries will be passed today and if u did fill the forms before tuesday and went with the banks bid rate .....then u will be debited and ur interest left in your account. if u invest 2,260,000 for 364days and lets say as the bid for yesterday was 14.69% for the tenor and your bank won the bid @14% then your interest will be 2,260,000*0.14=N316,400 with some negligible deduction of custodian fee and commission. and if u use the 3m then u have 3,000,000*0.14=N420,000. LETS SAY U LEAVE IN THE SA ACCT ........YOUR 3M EARNS 3.6% PER ANNUM..... 3,000,000*0.036=108000........amounting to 295.89 per day .........N8,876 per month and 7,988 per month after deduction of 10%WHT BUT WITH TBN .........3,000,000*.14=420,000 AMOUNTING TO 1,150.68 PER DAY .......34520.54 PER MONTH NO WHT 295.89 PER DAY TO 1,150.68 PER DAY ..............Each day u waste....u reduce ur likelihood of getting Financially independent and free.................if You have 3m now and still young ...u can be very wealthy without saving again. |

Oga' oooooooooooo raayah: I personally don't mind dishing food for my husband but if I cannot do it because i'm busy. He should understand.
Men are not babies. They should be able to plate their own food. Its better because you will be able to access the amount of food you want instead of sending your wife up and down.
Since its marriage, communicate with your husband. Tell him you are not comfortable and suggest a better way of serving his food. I would suggest putting the food in a big dish while your husband serves himself from there.
It seems you already do this. You are doing all the housework and cooking meals for him and he is still asking for "complete service". I think you married a baby. If he is hungry, he will plate his food. I think there is a bigger issue in your marriage. |

THIS IMAGE SHOWS YOUR WEALTH COMPOUNDING AT 10%....FOR 20 YEARS
I.E (1+0.1)^20 X PRINCIPAL=6.73 X PRINCIPAL after 20years .....(1)
now.....15.82% compounding over the same period .....
(1+0.1582)^20 x PRINCIPAL =18.87 X PRINCIPAL...............(2)
THAT MEANS INCREASING THE INTEREST RATE BY HALF(1.5)......tripled the multiplication factor of our wealth.........each percetage count over the long run AND TBILLS IS safe....Thats Explosion folks .........no putting into consideration your contribution for the year in form of savings

motherlode: would a TB certificate be issued to me if i invest in TB with 100k/200k? Can i choose to invest both the interest and principal on my first day of bidding? If it is possible for me, will i be credited with the interest and principal before it is reinvested? you can reinvest the interest next auction day which is 2 weeks frm that day........and provided it meets the minimum required amount for bidding ........there by increasing your annual return yr/yr..........Example........Lets say i purchase N2,000,000 at 14% at today's auction ...my return or interest is 280,000 for the 364days....over the same period i can increase my interest for the year by using the 280k to repurchase the bills two weeks later.....assuming interest fell after two weeks to 13.5% per 364days.....280k *0.135=N37800......to adjust for the two weeks ....................it becomes 37800*(350/364)=36346. add that to your original 280k interest then you have N316,346,Meaning your ROI for the year is 15.82%......1 to 2% interest increase in ur annual return can increase your wealth by millions after a long time. |

Ephemmm: Any suggestion on the rate I can bid with 500k for 91 days? However, what does 10% interest for 91days represent? Does it mean 50,000 for the whole 3 months? i go with the banks bid rate most times to avoid missing out ..........and secondly the rate for 91days tenor should be around 10%.....its been around that......10% of 500k is 50,000 per annum....so 91 days is 1/4th the annual figure that is 50,000/4= 12,500naira. My Advice is if you dont have need for the money its better to buy 364days and enjoy a higher rate like 13 to 14% per annum........that 3 to 4% will cost you over a long period of you look at it critically. |
