RomanceRe: Should I Quit My Relationship Because Of This? by Babanews(m): 11:12pm On Dec 10, 2018
samysmoothfresh:
From your write up, here are

A) Reasons why you should not quit the relationship

1) you love her.

2) you just recovered from a messy relationship and she somehow found a way to break through the barriers you must have set round your heart which means she's prolly special or has something in common with you.

B) Reasons why you should quit the realtionship

1) she doesnt accept her faults and sometimes you have to apologise even when she's wrong..........................she's proud!!

2) she keeps late night, go to concerts at 12am with friends who according to you aren't "presentable"....................she's a slay queen and prolly a wild rebellious one too!!.

3) she puts her friends first before you notwithstanding the fact that you guys who are supposedly in a relationship havent seen in a long while...........................she's insensitive and a member of the "hoes before niggas" gang!!

4) she keeps secrets and claim to "forget to tell you"......................she's not to be trusted!!.

5) she keeps and move with friend who arent "presentable" and by presentable i assume you mean they dress indecently.......................theres a 65% chance her friends are runz girls and an 85% chance she herself is a coded runz girl!!!.

OP, i'm asking you, should you quit the relationship?

yes or no?
Excellent reply. But your question...Hmmm... People in love do not think well o. A point-blank advice would have been more adequate in influencing his decision.

For me? YES. Quit

Are you interested in learning how to make money online without paying anything?
You are not alone…

One of my readers recently sent me a message asking if there are ways Nigerians can make money online without investment.

I provided answers to her via email and decided to share with my other readers who might be interested in building multiples streams of online income without having to spend a dime.

As a matter of fact, there are tons of online money making opportunities on the internet Nigerians can benefit from. However, some of them require investments.

This can pose a huge challenge for anyone who’s cash strapped or facing financial difficulties but still want to make money online.

Not anymore…

I will show you how to take advantage of several easy ways to earn on the internet for free.

But, like I’ve always said, before you think of venturing into any online business, you need to own a smartphone, computer and a good internet connection.

Without all that you can’t work online.

Data plans in Nigeria are not free; however, it’s safe to admit they’ve been quite cheap in recent times, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.

What I mean by you not having to spend anything is that you won’t need to pay anyone a dime to make money using the ideas I’ll share with you.

Here are the ways you can make money online without paying anything:

1. AdSense for hosted contents

Google AdSense is the world’s biggest and most popular contextual advertisement company, and is one of the many smart ways people make money online without paying anything.

To get an AdSense for hosted content account approved, you need to own a property in one of the three largest Google-owned platforms, which are:

1. YouTube

YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine after Google search. Virtually everyone in the world know YouTube. People who don’t are probably living in caves.

Before I understood a lot about YouTube, I always wondered why people would pass on their professional knowledge for free.

Imagine professional caterers uploading free videos to teach you how to make some of the best recipes from around the world.

Although you watch those videos for free, the owners of those videos monetize them with Google AdSense.

YouTube is a completely free to use platform. You too can upload videos to teach the world what you know and get paid for doing so.

2. Blogger

Blogger is owned by Google, which also happens to own AdSense. It is one of the oldest blogging software in the world.

You can create a blog for free using Blogger and monetize that blog using Google AdSense or any other means possible.

If you’ve been following Linda Ikeji, Nigeria’s most popular gossip blogger, then you’d know she also got her blogging career up and running for free using Blogger.

3. PlayStore

PlayStore is the official marketplace of all android phones and is also owned by Google. You can upload your app for free and through that app get Google AdSense (AdMob) approval.

If you know how to create mobile apps, then it is another huge opportunity to make money for free online.

Creation of mobile apps is not difficult. You can learn app development for free using several free YouTube videos.

You see, I told you…

…you can learn almost everything for free online.

2. Freelancing

A freelancer earning and making a living Freelancing is another option for anyone looking to make money online without paying anything.

A freelancer or freelance worker is someone who offers his services on freelance sites and is contracted to clients for short-term jobs.

I shared a list website where you can get home based jobs in Nigeria. All of the websites I shared require zero payments. You can begin selling the minute after you create a freelance account.

Popular among them are:
PeoplePerHour
Fiverr
Freelancer
Upwork

Services you can render on freelance sites can range from professional to non-professional services.

1. Freelance writing

If you’re a skilled writer, you can offer your services on those freelance platforms I listed above or other websites like iWriter created specifically for writers

On freelance writing platforms, you can become a ghostwriter, resume writer, creative writer, blog post writer, or offer any form of writing jobs you feel you’re capable of handling.

2. Freelance graphic design

This is another service you can render as a freelancer on freelance platforms. There are several freelance graphic design sites on the web you can sign up with for free and get graphic design jobs.

As a graphic designer, you can get jobs in design related categories like Logo design, Greeting card design, etc.

3. Freelance Typing

Offering typing services on freelance sites is another way to make money off freelancing without investing a dime.

The most popular typing services I know of is Transcription. You can easily offer that service in return for money.

There are several other services you can render on freelance platforms. I recommend you visit each of those websites to browse through the list of services available and know the ones you can render.

3. Taking Paid Surveys

A paid survey website allow you to take survey on the regular consumer products you use in exchange for paying you certain commissions.

Paid survey companies are quite new and there are only a handful of them in Nigeria. However, over the years, they’ve continued to experience massive growth.

Most survey sites are free to join. In other words, you don’t have to pay anything to begin to take surveys on those sites for money.

Popular survey sites available in Nigeria are:

Mobrog
Triaba
Opinion World

There are several international survey companies you can register with. However, most of them only payout with PayPal, which currently doesn’t support funds reception in Nigeria.

If you visit a survey site that asks you to pay to take surveys, then it’s very likely to be a scam survey site.

Whatever you do, just make sure you don’t join any survey site without carrying out proper research on it first.

Also, make sure you join as many survey sites as possible. This will increase your chances of making more from taking surveys online.

4. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry that keeps growing every single year.

An affiliate marketer is a person who promotes or markets affiliate products in exchange for receiving commission for sales made or leads generated.

Affiliate marketing can be started without investment. I’ve seen affiliate marketers who use the platform to promote their affiliate products.

After joining any affiliate program, it is left for you to decide how you wish to promote your products, provided it doesn’t go against the terms of the affiliate company.

CPA marketing is one of the most common ways affiliate marketers make money online.

You can perform CPA marketing using a Facebook page, YouTube or any other platform that can help you connect with an audience for free.

Affiliate marketing can also be done verbally. Just like the marketing department of a bank, where marketers get paid commissions for people who create bank accounts through them.

For instance, if you have a Payoneer account, you automatically become an affiliate if you decide to refer other users to register with Payoneer.

Payoneer pays both the referee and referrer a commission of $25 for every successful referral that receives payment to the tone of $1000.

Not just Payoneer, several other online companies have a referral or affiliate program.

I must admit, though. Affiliate marketing requires a lot of time to master.

Taking courses from reputable institutions and investing money increases your chances of earning quickly.

5. Teach online courses

For you to be able to teach online courses, then you must be skilled at something and be able to communicate your knowledge in the form of an eBook or video lesson, etc.

If you wanted to get this done on your personal website, then you have to spend money build that site.

Since you’re interested in making money online without spending anything, I recommend you start your online course tutorship on already established platforms.

Online course platforms allow you to list your course for free in exchange for getting small commissions from whatever sales your courses generate.

The most popular online course platforms are:
Udemy.com
coursera.org
lynda.com, etc.

There are tons of other websites you can offer and monetize your courses for free.

Final words

Whichever among the ideas you decide to build upon, just make sure you learn a lot and do a lot of readings to help you get started.

Making money online is not as easy as it sounds. Even if you’ll not need to invest money to get started with the businesses I shared above, you need to invest your time and effort.

Which of those methods do you wish to apply? I look forward to hearing your views

FamilyMan Discovers He Has A 40-year-old Daughter After Taking At-home DNA Test by Babanews(op): 8:51pm On Aug 22, 2018
INTERESTING STORY

When John Gonsalves took an at-home DNA test last year to learn about his European ancestors, he had no idea it would lead to a meeting 40 years in the making. His daughter, Robin, gifted him an AncestryDNA kit for his birthday, which led to the discovery she wasn't his only daughter.

"It's just as exciting to me to have a daughter who's 40 years old as one that's only one-month old," Gonsalves told CBS News' Elaine Quijano, who was there for their emotional meeting.

Jeanie Siciliano was born in 1977 – the product of John's high school relationship – and was adopted two months later. When she was 19, she looked for her biological parents and found her birth mother but not her father.

"I did some searching … but I didn't come up with any solid information. So I kind of put that all to the side," Siciliano said. "When I first opened my AncestryDNA.com results and John's name came up and underneath it, it said 'father,' and I was, like, 'Holy cannoli this guy is my biological father. Oh my gosh.'"

Soon after, she wrote him a letter. "I was stunned. I literally felt the world stop and the second thought was, 'This is a scam. There's no way that I could have a child 40 years old,'" John Gonsalves said. "And then I started to cry. I felt joy. I was like, 'This is such a great gift.'"

"I get to chat with my daughters. It's no longer singular. It's plural!" John said.

It turns out that John and Siciliano lived only three miles apart for 11 years and even shopped at the same grocery store. They think they must have crossed paths countless times, but believe it was divine intervention that brought them all together now at a time when they needed it most.

In a way, Robin was responsible. She gave her dad the DNA kit as a birthday gift.

"I knew that he wanted it, and I never know what to get him and he had been talking about it … So I gave him the gift of another child basically for his birthday," Robin said.

Robins said that having someone like Jeanie to look up to feels like a blessing. Robin's mother died a few years ago.

"I think that when I lost my mom, the thing that I was most concerned about was, like, 'How am I going to navigate my dating life, like, without my mom?" Robin said. "I don't have too many women figures in my life but losing my mom was really hard. So it's important to have women to look up to. So having someone like Jeanie is really nice."

"Nobody can obviously replace your own mother but like maybe I can be there for her," said Siciliano. "I'm also, like, super immature, so she'll probably make better, more mature decisions than I will. I'll be calling her, like, 'Dude, there's this guy and I don't know what to do.'"

CrimeSt. Louis Teen Posts 'made It To See 17,' Gets Shot & Killed On Birthday by Babanews(op): 2:06pm On Aug 21, 2018
An hour after posting on Facebook that he “made it to see 17,” Armond Latimore was dead, shot in the head outside a St. Louis, Missouri restaurant on his birthday.

Latimore was shot outside a Chinese restaurant on North Grand Boulevard around 1 pm local time on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Just an hour earlier, Latimore had posted on his Facebook page, saying he was “glad I can say I made it to see 17.”

His mother, Chandra Payne, was at the grocery store picking up some ice cream for Armond's birthday when she got the call from the police.
“He told me that he wanted ice cream,” Payne, 38, told the Post-Dispatch.

Latimore never told her, or his father, or any other relatives of any problems he was having, Payne told the newspaper. She said she found a paper that he wrote for school, about a bully who would not stop harassing him.

Some people have reached out to her to point out photos on Latimore’s Facebook page, in which he poses with wads of cash. The Post-Dispatch article mentioned a photo where he is posting with a gun, though no such picture appeared in his public timeline. In many of the photographs, however, Latimore can be seen flashing gang signs.

Payne said her son never owned a gun, and the money in the photos belonged to someone else.
“He was always a helping-hand child,” she told the paper. “He would cut grass, wash your car or sell water. He loved music and loved money and always made it the right way.”

Crime statistics from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department show 115 homicides so far in 2018, of which 45 have been closed. Compared to 2017, when the police closed only 13 out of 205 homicide cases, that amounts to progress.

Even so, the statistics paint a harrowing picture of a community plagued by violent crime. Guns were used in 108 of the 115 cases. Both the perpetrators and the victims are mostly in the 20-29 age bracket. Both are overwhelmingly male and African-American, like Latimore.
Police are still investigating Latimore's death. No arrests have been made.

CelebritiesTop 10 Richest Musicians In Nigeria And Their Worth (2018) by Babanews(op): 3:14pm On Aug 20, 2018
The net worth of this music stars isn’t static, it’s wave-like, alternating up and down as the clock ticks, so this list is subject to annotations and editing.

The yardsticks employed in this rich list measurement includes but not limited to; Endorsement deals, royalties, performance fees, YouTube rewards, label imprint ownership and collaboration profits.

Their net worth are estimated and not really the actual value as most artists if not all, have reservations when it comes to divulging accurate financial details about their private lives.

The estimates are sourced from the yardsticks mentioned in number 2 of these things you’re to take note of.

And just in case you are confused about the idea of Net worth, see this; it really has little to do with any bank statement or account balance.

It’s how much an individual is worth, after a detailed compilation of that individual’s assets and sources of income over a particular period of time, which is why it’s never the same, because some might get hit by one ugly financial misfortune which will shortchange their worth, while some might get more serious with their investment plan an up their game.

Wizkid

The stories of grass to grace is never complete till this young talented artists name is listed.

From a traditional indigent polygamus family, Wizkid rose to become an international star by becoming hangers-on with Banky W, the boss of EME records who harnessed his potential and valorized his prodigy.

You see, whenever chickens become too big, the shell becomes a threat to their existence and so they hatch out and free themselves.

That could be said for “Star Boy Wizkid”.

For obvious reasons, he hatched out of EME records to lead an independent prodigious music career with international credibility.

His magnetic songs has earned him massive prominence, precipitating a very steep demand for his services across Africa.

His songs have topped music charts for umpteenth times, his albums sales are still raking in millions of Naira, endorsement deals have skyrocketed his figures in his bank statements and he’s not even done yet.

Star Boy’s net worth is valued at an estimated N2.9 Billion Naira.

Davido

Born into affluence and plenty, Davido A.k.a OBO is one of Nigeria’s richest and most talented young artist.

From the days of his newbie hit single in the industry “Dami Euro” he has continued to roll out jaw dropping singles contained in albums and shooting his popularity like fireworks up the sky.

He nevers fails to remind anyone who cares to listen that his Dad is strikingly rich and he’s a proud owner of N30billion Naira.

A claim which is yet to be verified and cannot be taken into account as his net worth because we presume a huge chunk of that megabucks is linked to his rich roots.

From the stand point of music popularity, endorsement deals, YouTube incomes and royalties, Davido’s net worth is valued at N3.2 Billion Naira

Peter and Paul Okoye (Formerly PSquare)

Yea right, they are splitted, Paul flew away and same did Peter too in another direction, but their individual net worth is yet to be ascertained and whichever opposite direction they happen to find themselves now, they’re still basking on the wealth the brand “PSQUARE” gave them.

It gave them the popularity and the wealth they shared and come to think of it, the duo is about the largest music sensational combo in Africa before the split, this list will loose it’s taste if their brand is missing here.

So from the low temperatures of the streets in Jos, rose the phenomenal duo in what seemed like a dance group. Musical instruments where honed and perfected, a church was involved and then voicing began.

“Bizzy Body” a hit track, served as the red carpet to their grand entry into the Nigerian music industry.

They never stopped at that, more electrifying singles were released by them, sending the nation into fits of wild ecstasy.

Then came the awards, the endorsements, the collaborations, the million youtube views and the billions.

The twins are valued at an estimated N25 Billion Naira.

Don Jazzy

Arguably, this belated bachelor is the richest and biggest producer in all of Africa’s share of the planet.

If owning a song to call yours was a perquisite to label someone a music artist, the Don would be found wanting here, he has however featured in a myriad of songs, most of which were recorded and produced by him under his label.

It’s a taboo to even forget that the likes of D’banj, wande coal, D’prince, Dr. Sid all rose to stardom and wealth through “Mohits record” a record label he co-founded with D’banj.

The label however, is now history and “Mavins” is his new imprint with music stars like Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and others signed unto it.

The kind of money he rakes up from the “The Mavins” alone is eye popping.

Don Jazzy’s net worth stands at N14 Billion Naira

D’Banj

The Koko master as he is popularly known, is one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports.

From the UK he allied with Don Jazzy, and on their return back to Nigeria, they floated the “Mohits Records” which will later emerge as the most prodigious label in the country.

The fame he got from mohits was enough to sustain him after the group was disbanded.

His solo career rose along with the sun and he became Nigeria’s music gem when he performed at the closing ceremony of the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

You’re not the only one who thinks the Koko master felt “On top of the world” when he performed at the soccer city stadium in South Africa.

His “Oliver Twist” hit single was well famous for having the highest number of views ever for a Nigerian song.

With crazy stage performances worth millions of Nigeria, coupled with lots of endorsement deals amongst others, D’banj’s net worth is valued at an estimated N11 Billion Naira

Tu Baba

Innocent idibia A.K.A Tu face and now Tu Baba is the father of hip hop music in Nigeria.

He’s a role model and mentor to many young arts rising up across the country.

He’s highly revered among other artists in the industry.

He’s the bosses boss when it comes to music in Nigeria.

Once upon a time, three friends formed a music group and called it “Plantashun Boys”.

They did a lot of great songs together, but there was a split, everyone went solo on the group, leading individual music careers. But one became phenomenal and colossal.

He was Tu Face, the “African Queen” crooner.

A song by him that sparked local and international critical acclaim.

For the while it trended, it was described as one of Africa’s best and was even featured in a Hollywood movie.

That was a stepping stone for Tu Face into the legendary status he enjoys now in the music scene.

With a compacted itinerary of events to grace, endorsement deals and investments, Nigeria’s living music legend is with a net worth of N4.5 Billion naira

Flavour

It’s sheer fantastic how sticking to your cultural precepts and style while infusing it into music can grant one access to stardom and of course wealth.

This is the case of Flavour who set his foot on the door from the backdrop of drumming and even playing anything that could ignite music pleasures.

And then things got awesome when he decided to venture into singing, singing for the most part, in his descent dialect which even gave him an identity before he went western recently.

He has done multiple collaborations with both local and international artists, won host of awards and his finances has seen an astronomical increase over the years.

His net worth stands at N2.5 Billion Naira.

Banky W

Olubankole Wellington with the stage name Banky W is a Nigerian singer who is well famous for the kind of romantic songs he dishes out.

He employs his foreign birth history (Born in the United States) into his music style and if you aren’t careful you could mistake him for a whitey.

After a family relocation from the states back to mother land, he went back again for studies and returned home for the love of green and white.

He floated the Empire Mates Entertainment record label while in school in the states and brought the brand home to sign up and breed great artists.

His love songs are epic and emotional, captivating hearts and endearing him to many.

His music videos involves some mild dance moves, suits and hats, think of Michael Jackson? Yea, something like that.

He has made plenty of the money everyone needs through his EME records, collaborations, deals and most recently, he ventured into acting.

He’s a billionaire, thanks to music and his net worth is valued at N2.3 Billion Naira.

Iyanya

Popularly known for the “Kukere” song and dance, Iyanya got his start from MTN PROJECT FAME, a music competition where he emerged winner of it’s maiden edition.

That was the vehicle he drove to success.

From humble Calabar roots, Project Fame took him to Lagos where we was well famed via his hardwork and incredible talent.

His singles are fabulous and steers up excitement in listeners which is not void of intense dancing.

Iyanya himself is a very fine dancer with his waist doing most of the dancing to the delight of his female fans.

His thrilling performance in numerous shows is a pointer to his aficionado in music.

He’s a recipient of numerous awards and ambassador for different brands.

Iyanya’s net worth is estimated at N1.9 Billion Naira.

Olamide

Olamide is a singer and rapper with most of his punchlines reeled out in his native Yoruba lingua.

He has made a name for himself in the Lagos entertainment industry as the champion of the street, giving a hope to those who were once like him that hard work pays.

Steadily he drops his singles in a radical style that reflects his street roots.

He raps majorly and collaborates with other artists in a spiced up mix.

He runs his own annual show tagged “OLAMIDE LIVE IN CONCERT”.

This show shuts down the city of Lagos and is goodnews for his pockets.

Lots of performances and deals directs traffic to his income including his record label.

He has created dancing steps that have gone viral and strengthened his credibility and popularity.

For his hard work and fame, his net worth is estimated at N1.9 Billion Naira.

BusinessForbes Billionaires 2018: Meet The Top 10 Richest People On The Planet by Babanews(op): 4:23am On Aug 13, 2018
The gap between the really rich and the merely rich continues to widen, as fortunes soar to new heights. A record 2,208 billionaires made Forbes’ 32 annual ranking of the world’s billionaires. Altogether they are worth a record $9.1 trillion, up 18% from a year ago. The 20 richest people on the planet are worth a staggering $1.2 trillion, a sum roughly equivalent to the annual economic output of Mexico. In aggregate, they may represent less than 1% of total billionaires but their riches amount to 13% of the total fortune of all billionaires worldwide.

Jeff Bezos is the richest person on the planet and the first centi-billionaire atop our annual ranking. Shares of his e-commerce giant Amazon rose 59% in 12 months, helping boost his fortune by $39.2 billion. It was the biggest one year gain since Forbes started tracking billionaires in 1987. He easily moved ahead of Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, who ceded the top spot for only the sixth time since 1995.

France’s Bernard Arnault had the second best year after Bezos. Record results at his luxury goods empire LVMH and a deal to buy out nearly all of Christian Dior helped boost Arnault’s fortune by $30.5 billion. He is the richest European for the first time since 2012 and number four richest in the world.

Two tech entrepreneurs from mainland China climbed into the top 20 for the first time. Ma Huateng (also known as Pony Ma) is Asia’s wealthiest person, ranked number 17 in the world, thanks in part to his firm Tencent’s WeChat, a ubiquitous social-messaging app with nearly 1 billion active users. Tencent also has stakes in Tesla, Snapchat parent Snap and music-streaming service Spotify. Jack Ma, the 20th richest person, is the chief of another e-commerce giant Alibaba, whose shares increased 76% in a year.

Forbes pinned down 259 newcomers who made their fortunes in everything from tech and aerospace to private aviation and wedding dresses. China has the most new faces with 89, while the U.S. is next with 18. That is helping close the gap between the two nations. Altogether the U.S. has more billionaires than any country in the world with 585, while greater China (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) has 476.

On this year's list, the billionaires hail from 72 countries and territories, including the first ever from Hungary and Zimbabwe. One country not represented: Saudi Arabia. Forbes chose to leave off all 10 Saudis given reports of asset seizures after the Saudi Crown Prince detained some 200 people, including some billionaires, some for as long as three months.

While the vast majority of the world’s billionaires added to their fortunes in the past 12 months, 16% had fortunes that slipped. One notable loser was President Donald Trump, whose fortune fell $400 million since March 2017 to a current $3.1 billion. He is now ranked 766 in the world, down from 544.

BusinessThe Richest Women In The World 2018 by Babanews(op): 11:07pm On Aug 12, 2018
Another record year for the three comma club has boosted the wealth of female billionaires around the world. An all-time high of 256 women made the 2018 Forbes World’s Billionaires rankings; their collective net worth topped $1 trillion, up 20% since last year, outpacing the total gains overall. Though most of the women at the top of the list inherited their fortunes, more than a quarter of the female moguls were self-starters who blazed their own trails. The number of self-made women reached 72 for the first time, up from 56 a year ago.

Alice Walton reclaims the crown as the richest woman in the world, as her fortune leapt from $33.8 billion to $46 billion over the past year. The only daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, Alice moves up one spot to number 16, thanks largely to a 43% uptick in the value of Walmart’s shares. The massive retailer has been making an aggressive push into e-commerce in a head-to-head contest against Amazon, and recently announced a new line of kitchen products in partnership with Buzzfeed’s online food network, Tasty. The Bentonville, Arkansas, firm also plans to roll out meal kits to 2,000 stores in 2018 and is creating four new private label brands for clothing.

Walton takes the title of richest woman from L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, who died in September 2017 at the age of 94. The only child of Bettencourt, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, is the runner up with a net worth of $42.2 billion. That’s higher than what her mother was worth a year ago but shy of Walton’s gain. Meyers derives her fortune from a 33% stake in the cosmetics giant. Her grandfather Eugene Schueller founded the predecessor to L’Oreal in 1909, two years after the young chemist started creating hair dyes under the name Oréal. Under him, the business grew from selling dyes to Parisian hairdressers to a household name, and Schueller passed on his stake to daughter Liliane, who joined the company as an apprentice when she was 15 years old.

Sitting at third is Susanne Klatten, who has a $25 billion fortune primarily thanks to her inherited stake in automaker BMW. In fact, of the top 10 wealthiest women, eight inherited all their riches while two -- Australia’s Gina Rinehart, who sources her fortune from iron ore, and U.S.’s Abigail Johnson, who heads Fidelity Investments -- received a family business but played a hand in substantially growing it.

For women who aspire to create 10-figure fortunes from scratch, the United States and China are the places to be. Two-thirds of self-made female billionaires hail from these two countries alone, including Wisconsin native Diane Hendricks, who built roofing giant ABC Supply with her late husband, Kenneth. The wealthiest woman entrepreneur in America, Hendricks traces her humble beginnings back to her parents’ dairy farm. She worked a series of odd jobs after high school, and she had her first child as a teenager. She met her roofer husband while selling custom-built houses, and the couple later started the nation’s largest roofing distributor. She has presided over their empire since his death in December 2007; annual sales have more than tripled in the past decade to over $8 billion.

Other rags-to-riches stories include that of the reigning richest self-made woman, Hong Kong’s Zhou Qunfei, who made her $7.8 billion fortune after reportedly losing her mother as a child and quitting school at age 16 to work. She founded her own watch lenses manufacturing business after years of experience in factories, and eventually got into making glass covers for cell phones; her Lens Technology now trades on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and counts Apple and Samsung as customers. Similarly, Chinese newcomer Zhou Xiaoguang reportedly left high school at 16 years old due to lack of funds and sold trinkets across the country, traveling by night trains to hop from city to city. She started Zhejiang-based jewelry maker Neoglory with her husband, Yu Yunxin, in 1995; the couple has since expanded into finance and property, including a publicly traded real estate arm. She debuts on the list at $1.9 billion.

In all, 42 women made the rankings for the first time, including two American immigrants, Jayshree Ullal and Eren Ozmen. Ullal, who lands on the list at $1.3 billion, was born in London and raised in India, then went on to study at San Francisco State University and Santa Clara University. She spent more than a decade at Cisco Systems before joining computer networking firm Arista Networks, where she took the helm as CEO in 2008. Turkey native Eren Ozmen also crossed the pond for an American education, getting her M.B.A. at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1985, then joining aerospace and defense firm Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) three years later. She and her husband, Fatih, bought SNC in 1994, and grew it from a team of 20 into a federal contractor with more than 3,000 employees in 33 locations. Ozmen, who has a net worth of $1.5 billion, remains the president and co-owner of the private business.

In-N-Out heiress Lynsi Snyder received a nice birthday gift in 2017, when she turned 35 years old and was given the final portion of her inheritance. She has been slowly receiving shares in the burger chain over the years and now owns an estimated 97% of the West Coast-based fast food company, giving her a fortune of $1.2 billion. Her grandparents Harry and Esther Snyder opened the first drive-thru burger stand in California in 1948, and Esther helmed the day-to-day operations at In-N-Out until her death in 2006. Lynsi, who reportedly began working at the firm’s human resources and merchandising department as a teenager, became president in 2010. She has since expanded its locations, venturing to new territories like Texas and Oregon.

The Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from February 9, 2018. Some people will become richer or poorer between then and the publication of the rankings, or within days of publication. For instance, Alice Walton was the richest woman in the world at $46 billion on February 9, but ceded that title to Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, at least temporarily.

10 Countries It’s Crazy Easy To Immigrate To

Do you fantasize about leaving your home country and making a life on the beach somewhere? Maybe you crave mountain adventures, or simply a friendlier community.

But when you wake up from these daydreams, you are likely reminded of how costly and labor intensive it is to immigrate, not to mention that giving up the citizenship of your birth is kind of a big deal.

All that’s true, but there are several countries that are totally open to having you come, live, and work for an extended period of time without necessarily becoming a full citizen.

It is possible to live the life of your dreams now, and decide about making it permanent later. Find 10 Countries It’s Crazy Easy To Immigrate To Below:

1. Mexico

The lifestyle in Mexico is more relaxed than other first-world countries, but it’s got all the amenities you are used to, including high-speed internet, current movies and television shows, and convenient shopping for food and necessities. Don’t forget the beach and the delicious local cuisine!

In Mexico you can immediately apply for a permanent resident visa, which has no expiration date and grants you the ability to work. To qualify, you need to show a monthly net income of around $1,826 as an individual – it’s understandably more for the whole family. There are also several temporary residence visas available, which are good for four years and require a monthly income of $1,096.

2. Panama

Panama is a welcoming country that wants its guests to feel like part of the family. It’s got all the nature you could ever want in the form of clean, soft beaches, rich farmland, thick rainforests, and green mountains. It also has cozy small towns plus the modern and exciting capital of Panama City. The U.S dollar is Panama’s official currency.

There are several flexible options for people who want to stay in Panama long term. If you are from one of 50 “Friendly Nations” you can come and work with no problem. If you would like to retire in Panama, you simply need to show a monthly pension of at least $1,000 to receive a Pensionado Visa. This route also offers a bunch of discounts for things like healthcare and restaurant meals.

3. Costa Rica

Costa Rica has been popular with expats for over 30 years due to its easy-going lifestyle and gorgeous ocean-side landscapes. Actually, water lovers of all kinds will thrive in Costa Rica, as it boasts the second largest number of rivers and water bodies anywhere in the world. As you can imagine, a wide range of native fauna comes along with that, including over 300 species of hummingbird!

Costa Rica is a wonderful place for retirees, offering a visa program that welcomes older folks with at least $1,000/month in income. For the working set, you will need a job to settle there. Luckily, Costa Rica has a lot of job opportunities, especially around tourism and teaching English.

4. Belize

There’s not much to worry about in Belize, a place where you can both dive a barrier reef and explore ancient Mayan ruins in one day. On the other hand, why not simply kick back in a beach side hammock? With a very low cost of living, Belize is truly your oyster.

You need only live in Belize for a year before becoming eligible for permanent residence. All you need to do is enter the country on a visitor visa and renew it every month until you hit 50 consecutive weeks in Belize.

If you are over 45 years old, you can speed up the process with a Qualified Retired Persons visa, which requires a monthly income of $2,000. You won’t be able to work for a company within Belize on a QRP, but you can freelance remotely for an overseas company.

5. Roatán

Roatán isn’t a country unto itself, but for those seeking remote island living, it may be just what the doctor ordered. Located 35 miles off the coast of Honduras, Roatán boasts sugar-sand beaches, peaceful bays, and a stunning mountainous interior perfect for hiking. The infrastructure is also strong, so you won’t need to sacrifice the creature comforts you’re used to.

If you only want to stay for 3-4 months at a time, a visitor visa will suffice. To retire on Roatán (or anywhere in Honduras), you’ll need to show an income of $1,500 per month.

If you are not of retirement age, the income requirement goes up to $2,500/month, but you can still get a permanent residence visa that does not require renouncing your citizenship elsewhere, even if you ultimately choose to become a citizen.

6. Svalbard

If it’s not comfort you’re after but an extreme adventure, Svalbard may be the place. A territory of Norway, Svalbard is an archipelago located between the mainland and the North Pole. As such, it gets so brutally cold that homelessness is both deadly and illegal.

Polar bears are also known to roam around, so you will be required to carry a gun for protection. In the summer, the sun doesn’t set there for four straight months, but in the winter, it’s dark all the time.

There are very few rules for gaining entry to Svalbard. No one from any country needs a visa, but the governor does reserve the right to deny entrance to people who are not prepared to hack the conditions. You must have a place to live, and usually homes are provided by employers to employees. So if you can snag a job, you’re in.

7. Seychelles

But moving again into a place that’s not just inviting, but warm and inviting, the Seychelles is a group of 115 gorgeous islands in the western Indian Ocean. Almost half of the available landmass in the country is protected in the form of national parks and reserves, but that still leaves plenty of room for expats craving the beach life and lots of cultural diversity.

All you will need upon arrival in the Seychelles is a passport. There are no visa requirements for moving there. If after five years of residence you want to make it official, you will be eligible to apply for citizenship – as long as you haven’t gotten into any legal trouble during that time. Cashed up expats can cut their wait time for citizenship to one year if they invest at least $1 million USD. This is one of my favourite 10 Countries It’s Crazy Easy To Immigrate To.

8. Nicaragua

Forget what you’ve heard on the news. Nicaragua is a beautiful tropical locale with people who will welcome you. Even though there is some rough stuff in its history, Nicaragua currently has the lowest crime rate of any Central American country. Throw in not one, but two, pristine coastlines, and Nicaragua may be hard to beat.

The bar for Nicaragua’s retirement program is surprisingly low, requiring only $600 per month in income. You don’t even technically need to be retired, as Nicaragua issues these visas to people of any age who are self-employed or own a small hotel or restaurant in the country.

9. Sweden

Sweden is a great choice if you are looking for a high quality of life and progressive political culture. It has been called one of the best countries to be a woman and has the most progressive views regarding gender equality. It also offers generous immigration policies, with a refugee and immigrant population of about 15%.

Sweden is not the easiest country on our list to simply drop into for a long term stay, because you will need a job offer in order to get a work visa.

However, the immigration process is well automated online, and most people can spend a few months in the country visa-free in order to network.

10. Cambodia

Though steeped in a bloody history, Cambodia is now one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia. It is a good choice for people who crave a change from their first-world ideals, as the customs will be very new to most.

For example, people in Cambodia don’t celebrate their birthdays, and lots of adults don’t even know how old they are. Fast food is not very popular, and the preferred method of travel is the moped.

To live in Cambodia, you can get a long-term business visa without needing to be sponsored by a local company. This visa can be renewed indefinitely, but doesn’t grant the right to work for a Cambodian company. You will need to apply for a work permit in order to get a job there, but you may find that employers are lax about enforcing that requirement.

TravelThe Top 10 Most Affordable Countries To Buy A Home by Babanews(op): 6:44pm On Jul 22, 2018
The cost of living in countries like the United States, Britain, Australia or France has skyrocketed in recent years. But, if you’re willing to leave your country and explore life in other areas, there are many countries boast an extremely cheap and low cost of living. So, if you have the flexibility of living wherever you please, and want to live in a country where the cost of living is the cheapest in the world, check out these 10 countries when planning your next move.

Starting with number the number 1 most affordable Countries To Buy a Home below:

1. Cambodia

Cambodia may not be the first country that comes to mind when you think of a tropical paradise, but it’s pretty close. The added bonus is that living here is insanely cheap, unlike some other tropical getaways. A luxury home with four bedrooms and a pool would only cost about $600 a month. A decent three bedroom vacation home can be purchased here for just $20,000. And, for only about $2,000 a year, you can also hire a gardener and housekeeper to take care of your property.

2. Ecuador

Ecuador is similar to the United States in many ways, and as a result has become a popular American getaway. They even use the US Dollar for their currency. In this country, it’s cheaper to eat out everyday than cook for yourself on a budget in the U.S. You can even buy a property for around $50,000 and hire someone to tend to it while you’re away.

3. Mexico

Although the country is known for its poverty ridden streets, there are many wealthier areas that provide every amenity you might need. You can live off a mere $700 a month in Mexico, and this includes rent for a nice place, amenities, food, and any sightseeing.

4. Argentina

Argentina has been a popular tourist destination for many years. It has great restaurants, a rich history, and many places to explore. Not to mention, it’s not very expensive to live here. A decent sized home can cost around $139,000, which is relatively cheap in relation to homes in the United States.

5. Vietnam

Vietnam has also become a popular tourist destination in recent years. Although foreigners used to be prohibited from purchasing land in the country, that policy has been revoked in recent years. There are many million dollar luxury homes by the beach, but you can find a modest condo or small home for around $25,000 to $50,000 if you search in the right areas.

6. Thailand

Another popular tourist destination, this country has many places to explore. You can buy a nice condo for around $30,000 and a more spacious home for about $60,000. You can also find many places to eat cheaply, stretching your dollar even further.

7. Bulgaria

Bulgaria is filled with ancient architecture and beautiful landscape. Not to mention, if you earned just $1,500 a month, you’d be considered upper class. Homes can also sell for less than $20,000.

8. Hungary

Hungary is also a popular tourist destination, and those who purchase a vacation home there tend to move there permanently because they love it so much. It’s also extremely inexpensive. A large home only sells for about $90,000, and this includes a decent amount of land.

9. Albania

Albania is sunny and warm all year around, making it a pleasant place to vacation or move to permanently. A large penthouse can be purchased here for just $150,000, which is not terribly expensive compared to prices in the United States.

10. Colombia

In Colombia, you can buy a full sized, decent meal for only $5. Not to mention, the cost of rent is very cheap at just $400 to $450 per month. One thing to be mindful of, though, is that the country tends to zone their neighborhoods based on class. So, if you’re classified in a higher zone, you may end up paying more for things.

Whether you’re looking for a vacation home or a place to move permanently, these countries offer unique landscape, amazing architecture, or beautiful weather at a price that is just right, so you’ll have no buyer’s remorse.

PoliticsMagu Vs Malami, Kachikwu Vs Baru And 9 Other Infighting In Buhari's Government by Babanews(op): 9:56pm On Oct 15, 2017
- One major characteristic in the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is the unending bickering among senior government officials

- The officials are caught in the web of power play as they battle to outwit one other

- These infighting have created the impression that President Muhammadu Buhari is not in charge of his government

Officials of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration have thrown caution to the wind in the last few months.

The media has been awash with stories of infighting and bickering among senior government officials, as President Buhari appears helpless to nip the crisis in the bud.

Some of the key players in the government are not left out in these show of shame, thereby hampering government business and creating unnecessary distractions.

Daily Trust lists the 11 major bickering within the federal government since the present administration came on board.

1. Magu Vs Malami

The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) and the acting boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu were involved in a pubic spat which raised doubts about the Buhari's government's sincerity in fighting corruption.

Malami had specifically blamed Magu for causing the suspension of Nigeria from the Egmont Group, an international anti-corruption body with over 135 member countries. The AGF had also accused the EFCC boss of breaching Section 10 (1) of the EFCC Act which states that the EFCC must send complex cases to the AGF for better cooperation and prosecution.

The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, however disclosed that President Buhari was investigating the feud between both men.

“The president is aware and is investigating it. He is the employer of both of them. There are divergent views between the AGF and the EFCC chairman and the appropriate authorities will look into it”, Mohammed told a popular TV station.

2. Aisha Buhari Vs Presidency

First Lady Aisha Buhari recently, publicly upbraided the Chief Medical Director of the State House Medical Centre, Dr. Husain Munir, for the poor state of the health facility established to take care of the president, vice-president, their families as well as members of staff of the presidential villa, Abuja.

Aisha also admitted that Nigeria was unstable in the last six months owing largely to the her husband’s ill-health that forced him to remain outside the country for months.

Maintaining that the budget allocated to the clinic must be accounted for, she said: “I am sure Dr. Munir will not like me saying this but I have to say it out. As the Chief Medical Director, there are a lot of constructions going on in this hospital but there is no single syringe there.

The first lady had last year, openly criticized her husband for certain decisions he took regarding his government.

3. Hameed Ali Vs Senate

Earlier in the year, the Senate asked the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Colonel Hameed Ali (rtd), to appear “in plenary in uniform unfailingly.” The senators had previously attacked Ali for honouring their invitation without wearing uniform.

The invitation came when members of the Senate were pushing for drastic action against the NCS and the CG over the refusal to suspend action on the proposed clampdown on vehicles without duty payment, as ordered by the legislature.

Part of the actions proposed by the senate was to summon Ali to appear before all the lawmakers in the chamber in Customs uniform, which the NSC boss had earlier refused to wear.

But Ali called the bluff of the Senate, saying he would not honour the invitation extended to him by the upper legislative chamber to appear before them in uniform.

He said his attendance at the Senate plenary as scheduled by the federal lawmakers would be subjudice.

4. Magu Vs DSS

EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, assumed office on November 9, 2015 as acting chairman of the agency following his appointed two days earlier by President Buhari to succeed Ibrahim Lamorde. But the Senate declined to confirm Magu as substantive chairman of the EFCC on December 15, 2015 based on an incriminating report by the DSS.

Though he was presented again to the upper chamber in January after an alleged executive inquest absolved him of wrongdoing, Magu was rejected for the second time by the Senate on March 15 during its confirmation hearing.

A second report by the DSS, portrayed Magu as tainted and unfit to head the anti-graft body. It referred to indictments of the EFCC boss by disciplinary authorities and his alleged illegal sharing of classified materials.

Responding to the query through the AGF, Abubakar Malami, on the DSS allegations, Magu said that it was not true that some documents relating to cases under investigation were found his house when his residence was searched on the orders of Mrs. Farida Waziri, shortly after she succeeded Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as EFCC chairman.

5. Hameed Ali Vs Kemi Adeosun

There was disagreement between the Customs boss and the minister of finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun who took different positions on the revenue accruing into the money spinning para-military government agency.

The rift between the duo came to public awareness when Ali promoted and demoted some men and officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) without recourse to the finance minister. Matters came to a head in the National Assembly when the duo appeared to defend their 2016 budget before the Senate committee on finance.

The rift was obvious when Ali and Adeosun gave divergent figures and positions on items and figures in their budgets.

6. Magu Vs Senate

Twice, the Nigerian Senate had rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the EFCC. The lawmakers said their decision was informed by a security report made available to them by the DSS.

The presidency had since July last year requested the Senate to confirm Magu as EFCC boss through a letter signed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in his capacity as acting president when President Buhari was away on medical vacation.

Although the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, read the vice-president’s letter on July 14, 2016 the red chamber failed to schedule a confirmation hearing fueling suspicions that some corrupt senators were bent on blocking Magu from the position.

Following widespread pressure from Nigerians, the lawmakers fixed December 8, 2016 for the session but that also failed to materialise. Consequently, the Senate went into a standoff with the presidency, vowing to stand down all requests for confirmation into executive positions in the federal government. The Senate’s stance was based on the challenge from Osinbajo (then acting president) to the Senate’s capacity to confirm certain nominees of the executive into federal bodies.

The lawmakers who were particularly miffed by the continued stay in office of Magu as chairman of the EFCC, despite his rejection by the Senate on two occasions, passed a resolution asking the acting president to apologise for his challenge to the Senate’s power to confirm persons into certain executive bodies.

7. NHIS boss Vs Health minister

Usman Yusuf, a professor of pediatrics, who came on board as the executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) last year, was given a marching order by minister of health; Professor Isaac Adewole, to proceed on suspension for three months, following mounting petitions against alleged fraudulent practices and nepotism by concerned groups.

The letter suspending Yusuf was given to him on July 6, directing him to go on three months suspension to pave the way for an independent probe of the mountains of petitions against him.

However, in a daring tone, Professor Yusuf fired back at the health minister on July 12, telling him to his face that he could not proceed on the suspension as the minister lacks the power to sanction him. Yusuf pointedly told Adewole that it was only the president who appointed him, that could remove him from office, which has tenure of five years in the first instance and another five, if renewed.

Although the House of Representatives, in a resolution against the suspension gave the minister seven days to reinstate him, the health ministry maintained that it had the right to suspend Yusuf and that he would remain suspended. The ministry later wrote to the Nigeria Police Force to secure the NHIS headquarters in Utako, Abuja, after vows by the suspended Executive Secretary to resume.

The ministry recently, issued another statement extending the suspension indefinitely.

8. ‘Mama Taraba’ Vs President Buhari

The minister of women affairs, Aisha Alhassan, announced her endorsement of a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, for the 2019 presidential election.

The minister, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’ made the endorsement when she led a private visit to the former vice president who is a chieftain of Nigeria’s ruling APC.

Mrs. Alhassan who was the APC governorship candidate in Taraba in the 2015 election restated her position during an interview with BBC Hausa. She added that even if President Muhammadu Buhari decides to contest in 2019, she would still support Abubakar.

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, criticized Alhassan for stance but said, he was not surprised that the minister openly endorsed former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. El-Rufai also revealed that the minister was not in Buhari’s camp during the presidential primary election of the APC and has never supported the president’s ideology. 11 major bickering rocking Nigeria's federal government

9. IGP Idris Vs Senator Misau

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, and the chairman, Senate committee on Navy, Senator Isah Misau.

Misau, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), on August 10, alleged that policemen pay as much as N500, 000 for “Special promotion.” The senator told newsmen that he was tired of complaints of bribe for promotions and transfer to “juicy” duty posts in the force as well as the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The senator also accused the IGP of collecting N120billion as payment for special security services rendered by the police to corporate bodies and oil firms, among others, annually.

The police through the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, in return, accused Misau of exiting the police unceremoniously, to escape punishment for misconducts and other inappropriate behaviours.

The police declared Misau a deserter, vowing to declare himwanted, but the senator swiftly denied the allegations.

Before the dust could settle down, the senator fired another salvo, accusing the IGP of sexual impropriety with female police officers and abuse of office. The senator alleged at the Senate’s plenary that the Idris had impregnated two female police officers and secretly married one in Kaduna.

Consequently, the Senate set-up an 8-member committee to probe IGP Idris on the allegations leveled against him by Senator Misau.

However, the IGP has approached an Abuja Federal High Court, praying it restrain the Senate from carrying out the probe, explaining that it was against his fundamental rights.

Earlier, the federal government through the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, filed charges against Misau, bordering on alleged falsehood against the IGP.

10. Sagay Vs APC

Earlier in July, a verbal warfare broke out between the leadership of the APC and Professor Itse Sagay, one of the key aides directing President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption fight. Sagay, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC), had in a national newspaper, described the APC leadership as lily-livered, weak and incompetent.

Sagay had said: “As for the leadership of the APC, I think they are the most unprincipled group of people. They are lily-livered, weak, and cannot run any organisation. The whole party is collapsing under them. They cannot control anybody. Because they cannot control anybody, they’re now, in fact, encouraging and accepting ‘rogues.’ ”

The National Working Committee of the APC promptly fired back, describing Sagay as a ‘rogue elephant’, while also warning all appointees of President Buhari to show respect and decorum to the party which won the victory that made them occupy the offices they hold.

Part of the statement issued by the APC had read: “Clearly, if we have today, anyone in our government or, by extension, the party who feels accountable only to his own ego; who does not feel the need to bridle his tongue for the sake of anything that is higher than himself; who feels independent of everyone and every institution; that person is Professor Sagay.”

11. Kachikwu Vs Baru

The minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, recently released a ‘bombshell’ letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru of flagrant violation of due process in the award of contracts and acts of insubordination.

In the letter to the president, which was leaked to the media, the minister accused the NNPC boss of labelling him as “corrupt”, “anti-north,” and also being “in collusion with militants”, in order to convince the president on the need to side-line him in the decision-making process in the state-run oil firm. Kachikwu also alleged that Baru awarded about $24 billion major contracts without his input or review by the NNPC board.

After maintaining initial silence, the NNPC described the allegations by Kachikwu as baseless, even as it accused the minister of exaggerating and concocting figures to give vent to his claims.

Kachikwu later met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa but declined to speak with reporters on the outcome of their meeting. Although the two aggrieved government officials (Kachikwu and Baru) eventually met at a public function in Abuja last week where they exchanged handshakes, not many were convinced that the dust raised between the two top players in the petroleum industry is settled.
