VO: (LOOKS AT MY I-20) I see here advanced Legal research/studies, general.
me: it is just nomenclature. it is a higher degree in law, also called LL.M. Its the same thing.
VO: Where did u do ur undergrad?
me: mentioned
vo: when did u graduate?
me: mentioned, plus d yr
vo:what hav u been doing since then?
me: after uni, I went to law sch and then work
vo: so u are already working as a lawyer?
me: yes, as an associate in a leading law firm (showed her my ID Card also told her abt my employment letter)
vo:wats an associate?
me: first step in a law firm, after which onw can be promoted to partner which is the highest position
vo: so, who's sponsoring u?
me: my uncle
vo: why would ur uncle sponsor u?
me: he grew up with ma father who took absolute responsibility for him. saw him thru sch and now he has a sort of obligation to do same. I have no dopubt about his sponsorship
vo: how much does he earn monthly
me: he owns an integrated services firm and doesn't earn monthly as an epmployee
vo: gimme an estimate of his monthly earning
me: it may be difficult to say as he doesn't earn monthly salary, he gets his pay as he performs contracts
vo: ok, how much does he pay himself monthly
me: (at this tym I was forced to mention a figure since she insisted so much) about 15 to 20 million
vo: (she looked at a chat that has d exchange rates)do u hav financial docs to show his earnings?
me: yes (showed it to her)
vo: (looks thru it and looks back at me) the figures here don't add up
me: that's the statement I got from him
vo: do u have another statement?
me: no
vo (types in something in the computer) unfortunately, I cannot issue u visa at this tym, the reason is contained in this letter (issues me their usual letter)

Sorry for that !!! Two things need †̥o be amend on your interview next time.
First, please always state the course written on Ur i-20 †̥o the VO. What u mentioned was totally different from what is on Ur i-20 though †̥o u they are the same but they won't know that because they are looking for α gap †̥o nail applicant.
Secondly, I think u can't defend Ur sponsor statement of account very will. You should always give figures that are equivalent †̥o what u are holding or having in d statement u want †̥o present.
Reapply or defer †̥o next semester and correct that bro.

Olatomide: Visa was granted in lagos. Interview was slated for 7:30am, didn't get in till around past 10. The VO at window 1 was denying virtually everyone, prayed he shouldn't attend to me, alas my number popped up. He questioned me on everything possible and checked each document, in the end I was granted. Headed to UTD for my graduate studies in Geology. Sorry it aint explicit.

The first thing you do is to search for a school in u.s and their requirement, then write their required test and see if you can meet up with their requirement after all that, you can apply and wait for their decision.

GboyegaD: He should be able to tell the prospects his education has for him in Nigeria rather than lying over a job he isn't having. These people think as well.

Using α community college †̥o apply for visa, the rate of visa approval is very slim let mε say 1/100 percent. Just an advise

Your question is not well composed !!! But I know you are referring tie †̥o your country right? If yes, either you do α letter on α company letterhead showing they are ready †̥o hire you after your study or stating you have been working with them for some years but you will go on study leave for now and after your program you will be promoted.
Secondly, if you are married you can also use that as α tie †̥o your country or if you have α property here in Nigeria is also α tie.

I didn't see any specific warning barring Nigerians from registering online. They accept visa and mastercards. You can also register by phone too by calling them. The exam center in Lagos is First Logic and that of Abuja is British Canadian International Education Ltd. Registration fee $250 (N40,000).

what he is trying to clear to you is that the statement should be 6months transaction. Either from 1st of january to june 30th 2013 or from december to may 2013. just get the recent statement bro.

I've been a silent stalker follower of this thread on behalf of my younger sister and she just got her visa approved this morning at the Lagos consulate. . . . . . . . I referred her to this thread and made her go through it from Part 1 coupled with several mock interviews to ensure all goes well. . . .


I haven't gotten the full details yet and i will try to post it once i do. Basically, she was interviewed by an African American lady and she was asked what she's currently doing, her GRE scores and about her sponsor.
