Good morning,

Thank you, I like to help where I can, and I always try to find sources to the information I do share

I think it is such a long and stressful process just to be with the person you love so much, and if the love is real you will succeed as you will always find the strength to carry on and fight, I am just fortunate that my husband was granted 1st time.

I cant have wished for a better husband to share my life with, he works very hard and has been in a job since arriving in the UK after about 2 weeks, and now he also does Security, after completing his SIA training and obtaining his licence, so that he can earn that bit extra for when I go on Maternity leave ( this is our fist and is due just after my 30th birthday....eeeeek lol )

You have proved a great track record for your previous visas so I am sure you will have no issues being granted visit visas.

Stay focused smiley

Aww no I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and there's me saying about my own sad, but I honestly feel your pain as I lost our first baby at 7 weeks last April, when I should have been approx 12 weeks, so went through a lot of stress and sadness.

So good to see your positive news, now you will be able to relax and in time you will be blessed once more, as I have and this time he is sticking around, sending some baby dust to you my sister smiley

Bleep
Thanks dearie...its all good. Am so sorry about your loss too.. and am particularly happy that this time around this bundle of joy shall stay put and make it all worth it... I guess God has a reason why mine didnt stay... but am positive now that the next blessing that would come will stay and bring us joy.

Am very proud of you and your hardwork and your never-give-up spirit which was what endeared you to me.keep up the good work and extend my regards to your husband...

Hi babyisUS,

Been a while, glad to hear you have settled in, then deeply sorry for your loss. I am always at a loss in such situation as I am never certain if you'd want the consolation or would rather be left alone to grieve. I want to believe the grieving is over though. Hugs

Portsmouth86, well done, nice thread. I'd be checking in to see the updates

Hey girl... it's been a long while. I came looking for you as soon I got back here. It's been 8 months since my EEA family permit visa was granted... I have been through so much... got pregnant the very month I came to the UK but.lost it in Apr/May... it's been the most traumatic things I've ever had to go through.

Well.. recently I just got sent my BRP certificate at least with it I can work now. As my type of visa is different from that of your hubby's I had to wait for my BRP or the Certificate of Application to be able to work.

I'd be following up on your page ...

Congratulations on the news of your pregnancy... so happy for you... I wish you a healthy 9 months pregnancy... baby dust on me.. smiley
Can't wait to get that feeling of being pregnant back.

@Justwise @babyisUS, @Lexusgs430, @newbie715, @Faithadunni

Im not sure if this makes any difference but on Facebook one person asked me..." Did you get a VAF reference in the email subject line" intrigued i checked and indeed yes I do have a reference number starting VAF123456 (6 numbers but not these) and the guy said, this number was the same on his visa when he got the passport and said he has asked those with a refusal and the decision made email did not contain a VAF reference in the email subject line.

I thought that maybe it was just the application ref but this starts with GWF which is also in the message of the email

Can anyone check their emails, this could give us an indication before we receive the passports back
Nah, this is definitely not an indication of what a visa status is. I didn't get it but my visa was granted! The only way you can tell if your visa is granted is when you collect your passport!
I wish you best of luck hun.

I wasn't asked for my ID and I managed to record the conversation however this is what I got from my answers.

The guy was very polite and said we will get an email in a few days, NOT sure if hubby will get a call to clarify my answers, but I did answer them all and correctly smiley

So let's see a positive outcome smiley
Oh wow!!!!! This must have been hectic... over 50 questions.. I can't wait to read the good news! Am certain this shall end in praise! You are one brave lady and a go-getter! I admire your strength dear!
Congrats in advance!

Here Guys n Gals

Something for you to read grin

Immigration officials have been trying to expose couples they believe are entering sham marriages by asking bizarre questions about lingerie colour and bra sizes, it has been revealed.....

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2016/01/18/not-knowing-the-colour-of-your-wifes-underwear-could-get-you-deported_n_9015794.html

totally stupid...my response would be 'I don't wear any, cant afford them because you take all my money for your visa fees' grin cheesy
Hahahahha...
this used to be their thing...now they are back to using it? I have a friend who was caught this way, she and her brother entered into a sham marriage , how bizzare, and they were caught out on that by asking them this simple question question of what colour of underwear she had on, her brother's reply was totally off from what she answered, they never saw that one coming... this was many years ago...
now they are re-introducing it? lol

But the Op's point are ridiculous now. Having your result, having the host country's number on your phone, not having a return ticket, etc. . .bro please.
But they are not exactly his points... they are points culled from members experiences.. the OP only collated people's experiences..

I am a chic by the way.
TravelRe: 10 Reasons Why Travellers Are Turned Back Or Refused Entry At The Port Of Entry by babyisUS: 11:02pm On Jan 18, 2016
Bollinger:
Google can't give you all the answers you want. you have to live it to understand it. The OP's post was all about being turned back at the port of entry. I gave an example, where i tried to explain how you could have an infringement and officials would clear you because they know you have nothing to hide because you had an oversight. Want another one. My organization sent me to Germany to complete a project which took 3 years. I didn't know that the SOFA card for my kids had to be renewed yearly while staying in Germany. I completed the project and went back home with my family. A year after that i was sent back for quality inspections and was stopped at the Nuremberg Airport because My name popped up due to my kids. I paid the 200 Euro fine and proceeded on. No one will turn you back unless you are dubious.
So let's say someone else found themselves in your second situation, and didn't have the 200 Euro to pay the fine immediately...what would have been the next course of action? Turn him back right? Would you translate it to mean the person was dubious and stupid?

If you had really taken time to read the OP's intro before listing the points, you'd understand that he got all those points from people's experiences he came across on this page. Without mistakes, there wouldn't be corrections....there wouldn't be lessons learned...
You have stated two situations you have experienced, are you aware that someone has taken note of your case and included them in their list of "things to/not to do" list?.. no information is useless. ..
Yes there are dubious people, no doubt, but there are also, a good number of genuine people who have suffered for many oversights...
Even if u have travelled round the world without hassles, u can only speak about YOUR OWN experience, not about others... and you can't use ur own experience to generalise... I watch Borders Watch and have seen how silly things like people's indomie noodle's packets were ripped apart just to make sure the contents are what they should be...
With these IOs,you can never be too sure.. posts like this shouldn't be spat on like you are doing... thats my whole point..

Yes, it's definitely a waste of time and tax payers money to spend on education, all thanks to folks like you who claim to know it all,but actually knows NOTHING...

You were not turned back, but could have... u claimed it was impossible for anyone to meet any hassles at POE unless they are dubious...so should we take it u are dubious hence the IO deemed it appropriate to search through your lappy? The lock was even cut like you were carrying some indicting stuffs!

I have been to tons of countries and not once have i gone through one. Why? because i follow all the rules. The onus is on the traveler to follow the rules as laid out and if you do, you'll be fine. There was only one time i didn't; i left my laptop in my suitcase and powered on. TSA cut the lock, checked everything, found nothing and left a note explaining why they did what they did.

I thought u said u keep to ALL the rules and Never can any of these happen to you? How come ur laptop was checked? Why didnt u slap the officer for searching your lappy? Oh, so u have been met with such an incidence before? Smh!!

No information or knowledge is a waste. I don't get it with some Nigerians. Just for the mere fact that you haven't experienced an incident doesn't mean it can never happen to u or that it can never happen to anyone else.. you only know your story, do u know about other people's stories unless u are told? If u come across a post that u feel would add zilch value to your life, why not just move onto other posts of your interests, rather than spoil someone else's post claiming it's false/untrue?

You haven't experienced any of the things mentioned by the OP, so? Does that make it false? Even with some people stating their personal experiences and that of others of how these points raised are true, there sits someone calling this post rubbish and senseless... eish!

Reading through posts like these made me get myself ready and prepared for any eventuality... I made sure I got everything ready and on point to avoid any issues at d POE. I was very ready... But I didn't experience any of these things,it was a smooth sail for me, not even my TB certificate which I was advised by the TB testing centre to hold in my hand ans present at POE was asked of me by the IO in UK... but it would be stupid of me to come here and claim none of these things happen just because I didn't experience any of it. Wouldn't it be better that one is safe than sorry? It hasn't happened to you before, does it mean it would NEVER happened to you?? I too know,i too know, at the end of the day,dem no go sabi anything.

Some people would never post any useful thing but are forever ready to label a post "useless" at any chance they get.... all the ITKs,una well-done ooo!

to use the money and start small scale business name the business please? Dangote of our time my foot.the way you talk seems like your still spoon feed by parents, you ever ask yourself about the harsh government policies this days pertaining to business,do you know that most importers are now crying because of the way government is handling things.Do you know that the number of unemployed graduates in this country is alarming that do all sorts of that your small scale business.we all know that abroad is not easy, but its easier their to have acess to cash not by illegal means but by legal because you can engage in some kind of jobs to feed pay house rent and save,I once lived out side the country and experience is the best teacher.one thing you must understand is that not everyone will make it in nigeria, same thing abroad.so it all lies to your ability, endurance, information and risk to sucess and how lucky you are with your god.so mr too much hussle or small scale business may or may not make you suceed in life.
Why did you come back to Nigeria then, since according to you, it is easier to have "access to money" outside Nigeria? Why didnt you stay back to stack up the money so easily? What are you doing in a country filled with so much hardship, when you had the opportunity to have so much money so easily? SMH

All you have been spewing have been nothing but rants, garnished with insults. You think ranting senselesslessly with insults makes you appear smart? Calm down and put your points across sensibly, there is no war going on here... with the way you rant, I can only imagine how profusely you sweat whilst typing because of how emotional you sound..
Whether am spoon-fed by my parents or not, has nothing to do with d issue at hand. You cry about economic hardship in Nigeria as if there are no humans living in Nigeria anymore....as if there are no hardworking youths, hustling to make ends meet... people like you, without weighing the pros and cons, mislead people and push them to untold hardships which could be avoided.
You are talking about harsh policies made by a govt of just 6months, what have you been doing for many years before the inception of this new govt? Stop giving flimsy excuses to pat your lazy ass...looking for who to blame for your laziness....

God will surelly bless you for this comment, people are here talking all sorts of rubbish because they are not in nigeria to fill the harshness of the economy and the entire socail political sphere of the country.those against his travelling to europe do you know how much he must have spent to get the visa and flight ticket, and your hear advising him to go and come back to this useless and wicked country that does not know the value of human life,we are just living like in the state of nature in this country without basic fundamental human rights.bro if you travel to europe, find any possible means to legalise your stay(papers)over their.God in haven will surelly make a way for you in europe, believe and pray always.
If he spent so much money on visa procurement and flight ticket, why didn't he use such money to go into any small business in Nigeria, where he is already used to the environment, than paying such an amount of money to go to a land of uncertainties?
It's a pity that these days, people see honesty as hate or bad belle or "talking rubbish"... we talk of corrupt leaders and how to change Nigeria, what about we start from changing the way we are and the way we think??
Only a lazy Nigerian would use illegal means of survival as an excuse to justify the hardship he's facing in Nigeria. Infact, those who live outside Nigeria, are the ones in a better position to fully explain to the OP,the risks involved in this journey of uncertainty he's about to embark on.

Now to share my timeline with you guys. Note I started evidence collection and application in the UK before traveling to lagos with my sponsor/fiancée(now wifey). We paid a most brilliant lawyer(nasty and expensive but bloody good) who did a fantastic job. Anyway here's our timeline

Monday 16th November had TB test at the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC)
Lagos

Tuesday 17th November had pre marriage Counselling and meeting at the Ministry of Interior Marriage Registry
Ikoyi Lagos.

Wednesday the 18th of November
Got married at Ikoyi Marriage Registry.

Thursday 19 November 2015, 10:00am Appointment at
Teleperformance Ikeja Lagos (Got there half an hour late so paid for premium lounge)
Also Paid for PRIORITY SERVICE!

Monday 23rd November sent supporting documents from London to Sheffield via Royal Mail next day recorded delivery with tracking number
Supporting documents arrive at Sheffield on Tuesday 24th November at 7:23am.

Thursday 3rd December sponsor received email stating that decision has been made and that we will be notified sometime in the next 48 hours.

Tuesday 8th December received another email stating that decision has been made and Passport despatched.

Monday 14th December received email from Tlscontact that passport is ready for pick-up.

Picked up passport on Tuesday 15th December, lo and behold inside it was my shiny Spouse Visa!!!!

The decision making took just 8 days from when application was received which I believe is down to paying for priority service and also having a well prepared and indexed application. The wait and not knowing is ridiculously stressful but can look forward to honeymooning and planning the church wedding in quaint Cranleigh. Good luck to @Portsmouth86 and all others awaiting a decision, I will still be active on here so can answer questions. Cheers
Congratulations!

Once your in the UK and towards the end of your 6 months of fp you will need to apply for the UK residents card which will be valid for 5yrs after which you apply for the permanent residents permit.

It costs £65 for each person included in an application, plus you would be required to pay for your biometrics at a cost of £19.20 from certain post offices.

Here's the link for what you need, I hope it helps

Thank you for your reply, I will bulk it up a bit more to prove further. I mean any of the interviews both TLS and Sponsor, I have been to the UK numerous times and lived there for almost 8 years but the last time I applied for a visit visa they interviewed me funny enough.
It's good you bulk it up. In my case, the whatsapp chats I printed were just from Sept to October. We have both changed phones, so just two months whatsapp chats were all we could get...
But then, we had emails from way back as 2010, when we started dating. So emails from 2010 to present, I included in my documents.. then also call logs and also receipts of gift items hubby has sent me... so,just give them enough proof as possible... it pays to have more than less.

For me, I wasn't interviewed at TLScontact, but was called a day after my biometrics for a brief interview over the phone. My hubby was also called Nd interviewed shortly over the phone, a few minutes after I was called.
The questions asked were basically things couples should know about each other.. e.g
When did you meet?
How did you meet?
What is his DOB?
What is his phone number?
What is his email address?
How many people were at your wedding?
What are his parents names?
When last did you see him?
What is his address in Uk?
Where does he work?
When do he arrive Uk?
When did you get married?

Basically questions about your spouse.
I was granted my visa stamped on the 19th of November...

I hope this helps. All the best.

She wasnt doing anyfn special...the truth is she decided not to return initially but changed her mind and came...
Story:
'she lost her handbag that contains her passport but a good Samaritan fond it but unfortunate for her that good Samaritan couldnt return de passport early as expected bcoz that good Samaritan has some issues beyond her control, she didnt inform the police because she already knows where the passport and other documents was..Bcoz she cant travel without her passport she explained the situation to her employers and because she has serve the company for more than 10yrs the company granted her further leave without pay to solve the problem. and during all these period in the UK she was been supported by her auntie who invited her to the UK.
This kain story sha..am not an expert but I wouldn't believe this story one bit... if she misplaced her passport and the so called good samaritan had her passport, why didn't she go look for the good samaritan herself and collect her passport?
She wasn't on maternity leave, neither was she on study nor sick leave...what sort of bank gave her three months leave and still willing to lie to help her cover it up?
Issorait!
