aragonbaba: Kindly answer the following questions; 1. Who did you use as your sponsor? 2. Did you submit only account statement and sponsorship letter?> 3. What study are you going for, Diploma or masters? 4. Did the case officer contact you? remain blessed.Congratulations Response: 1. My employer 2. Employer did not provide account statement. I was given just a letter. 3. I'm going for a conference 4. I contacted them severally via email. Like a reminder on my application and they responded saying that they have taken into consideration the date of the conference in their processing timelines. She also said that they were conducting external verification. I hope this helps. |

They didn't request for any additional document. I tried to cover the field from evidence of registration for the conference to letter of sponsorship from employer. I even included my own financial statement. iykedpetes: congratulations ...so they didn't ask for additional document ? |

debby516: I dont think there is anything like 'fast track' for Australian visa, with my own on-going experience and what i have read on this thread.
Yes, i submitted my details to the agency but i doubt that has any impact on the visa process.
I observed you just applied this month. I wish you all the best o. I think Davody also submitted an online biz visa application and got a response after 4 weeks, like few days to the conference, soo be hopeful.
I got another email this morning from pretoria immigration addressed to one "Mrs. Chikwendu" and wrongly sent to me and the email was simply telling her to write a letter to withdraw her application for visitor's visa and resubmit an application for biz visa within 7 days before they make a decision, as she stated she was attending the IBA, which is not tourism but business. I have responded that the email was wrongly sent to me and also included my own details to follow-up with my application since it had passed the standard processing time for biz visa.
Still awaiting their response. Hi Debby516, When I inquired they responded that all applications (for IBA) received before Sept 30 will be treated. All the best. Cheers. |

debby516: Hello, yes its the IBA.
I just got a response from them this morning based on my follow-up email to them last week enquiring about the status of my visa applications. That is almost 6 weeks since i submitted a paper application at TLS ikeja office. No visa grant yet, just asked for my details to check through their records. Thanks Debby516. I applied using the online channel and I have not received any feedback. I'm getting worried. You know that IBA will not refund after Sept 25. Fingers crossed. Also did you submit your details with the events coordination agency to fast track. |

debby516: Hello house, I apologise cos mine isn't a student visa application but can't find any related thread.
I submitted my application for business visa on Thursday, going for a conference, along with my hubby who applied for a tourist visa, to also ve a vacation after my 1 week conference. We were told to get the yellow card, but we still met up with d submission b4 2pm at the Ikeja centre. Never saw yellow card on the checklist of document to submit.
My question is that on the printout we were given, I saw Kenya. I had read here dat decisions are made in SA, could it be diff for biz and tourist visa applicants?
Thanks Hello debby516, i just read thru the thread and saw ur posts. Was it the IBA conference you applied for? Did you do the paper application at TLS or online? How long did it take between submission and response. Thanks |

Cognito79: Is this why you asked about business visa?
You only need a visitor's visa to attend the conference and you should start your application now.
Go to department for immigration and border protection website for detailed information. The information there is self explanatory and straightforward. The link is below.
http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visi/Visi
And yes, 6 months validity is a standard for all countries if applying for a visa. Yes. Thank you so much. I replied on the other thread. I am trying to get all the documents. Will put in my application before the end of the week. Thanks for taking time to respond. |

Cognito79: Your term of business visa is ambiguous. What kind of business and how long do you intend to stay? You probably will only require a visitor's visa. The link below is one of the business visas available. You can browse the website for other options.
http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/188-#
Six months validity is standard for all countries and visas. Thanks for the response. Visa is for a conference, one week stay only. Following my research, I believe Visitor visa- business steam will apply. I stand corrected, but i understand that New Zealand requires only 3 months validity. Any idea of process of timelines? |

Sorry to derail the thread, I know it's for skilled migration. But I can't find a thread for business visa applicants. Please can anyone assist with information on an Australian business visa, I want to know how long it takes to be processed and if I require six months validity on my passport cos I can't see that requirement anywhere following my research, I know it's usually a requirement for other visas. |

Partnerbiz3: So you would spend close to 5k dollars to attend conference that has no direct bearing on your career.
Just tell yourself that you are going on vacation. Uncle, im a lawyer. Do you think any organisation would sponsor a conference that will not make any impact on your career? |

Itsachair: Plz i jux got my L.L.B nd proceedin to lawskul by october. Plz wot is d requirement to join IBA nd wot are the benefits of being a member. Tanx @itsachair joining the IBA fosters continuous legal education. You have access to wide range of legal materials, papers, presentations, books, conferences etc. There is also a mentorship programme. The benefits of attending the IBA conference are immeasurable. For me, it exposes me to the world, networking, it makes me a global lawyer, i make loads of contacts whom our parts would never cross ordinarily. Socialization. Attending the seminars are always a gift. And of course, i love travelling, so it's an opportunity to travel to the other end of the earth. As for requirements, the only requirement is that you must be qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the world. And of course, payment of membership fee - £81. Cheers |

Please let me know if you have started or you are still planning or even undecided.

Hello everyone, I understand that there is a scarcity of laminate at the passport office in Ikoyi, Ikeja and Abuja. Does anyone know anything about this or if there is laminate in any State. Which is the fastest state to get a passport.
Please it's kinda urgent. Thanks in advance |
