Visa Alert!!

Priority (self service) - Business Visa.
Biometrics in TLS VI was for 12noon 11th of Jan,
My Passport moved to DMC same day biometrics.
Received collection mail on 16th Jan 2023 at around 3pm.
Picked up 17th January 2023. No queues, I was in and out in 4 mins.

Documents submitted!
Introduction letter from employer.
Letter of employment.
Invitation letter of sponsorship from my company in Uk with reason for the business trip.
Six months Payslips
Six months bank statements
Scanned old passports with travel history- including UK.
Accommodation booking.

I arrived TLS at 11.14am. Parking is allowed outside the premises at #500.
Signed into the building at 11.22am. Everything was swift, no queues, happy I didn't pay for the Premium Lounge, would have been a waste.
I finished and was out of TLS at 11.45am. I was given a Lebara Uk SIM card upon submission of passport.

I just got a refusal on my for UK business visa. Quite funny their flimsy reason though. I will share later. It is interesting how people who wants to Japa actually beats the system/ their so called scrutiny while those of us who are being honest get refused.

I struggled with this as well. When I spoke to my company's travel consultant, they said to upload the invitation letter and letter of introduction from my company. So that's what I plan to do.
What are your thoughts?

Hello, i also applied for business visa. One of the documents I got on my checklist is for my sponsor (company) to provide evidence that they won't be in breach of government law by sponsoring me. We are not sure what kind of evidence specifically is requested here. Any thoughts?

To be safe, I will advise you book different days. Booking the same day would mean that you could miss or be late for one of the appointments....unnecessary stress.

I stay very far to lagos. I don’t know if it’s possible to book appointment for TB test and book appointment for biometric a day after TB Test while opting for assisted service for documents upload.

Please kindly advise how feasible this is.

Since you have choose a date and time. Click on amend booking and see if you can add an additional service.

If it does not work....call Tls contact center/customer care.

Thanks. I finally got a date for 11th but I had to remove Flexi from my cart. I noticed it was the Flexi because I had same issues when I was trying to do mine on the 23rd too. I eventually got 6th for myself when I removed Flexi so I had to do same for my husband.
I have a question though. Can I walk in without booking Flexi online and go pay for it onsite? Will that be allowed?

I picked 11th Jan, that was the earliest date available.

I applied for a business visa, I am not going to the UK for school.

Hi, it's very likely flexi appointment could be the reason you are not getting dates. Flexi appointment means that you can come at anytime during opening hours and they are limited slots, perhaps all the slots are taken.

Firstly, check the website of the airline you are flying for prohibited items amd make sure the mdeicine is not listed as a prohibited substance.

Secondly, check that it is legal to use the medicine in the Uk.

Thirdly, make sure you have a prescription for the medicine from a verifable hospital and doctor...not native doctor oo. Lol.

Just thought to share my IW renewal timelines:

So, i submitted passport for renewal on Nov 18, 2022
Visa Issued: Dec 12, 2022

Documents summitted:
1. 2 international passports (old with last visa and new one).
2. DS 160 confirmation page.
3. Passport photo.

Also, go with your 1. Appointment confirmation printed out and 2. gtb receipt of payment (optional).

Yes I have and it was seamless. It was also not my final destination. LOS-LHR-Philly- houston. It was a BA ticket, but in collaboration with American Airlines.

There were two officers sitting leisurely in the middle of a hallway (no queue). I thought there were like security officers, so I walked up to them to ask for directions to my gate to catch my domestic flight to Houston and were to drop/re-check-in my luggage. It was after i asked them, they stated asked for my passport and started asking me 1.vacation or business 2. how long i was staying. etc. It was after they stamped my passport i realized that they were not just doing amebo...lol.

Note - this was in 2018, but I always remember this as my easiest POE experience. Maybe because, i didnot know they were the border control/POE officers, you know how the mind works, perhaps if I knew I would have been a lil nervous.

In summary, Philly is pretty chilled, I do not think many international flights land there.

He sure knows how to get the attention of his audience

Things required:
1. Return ticket.
2. Covid 19 negative test result taken at least 72hrs before your flight.
3. Yellow card... don't buy a fake one.
4. Complete the Kenya health form 24hrs before your flight.
5. Visa- they have stopped visa on arrival. Get an e-visa.
6. Address of your destination in Kenya.

I hope this helps.
Also, make sure you have at least 3 copies of the above listed documents

Been looking for this thread for some hours now to share my POE experience. Once a story is not on the first page of the travel section... to find it na wahala.

So I bought my ticket towards the end of last month. Bought it directly from the Emirates website using a combination of miles and card.

P.S. after flying an airline y'all need to go register your trip to earn miles... this is irrespective of whether you bought it from an agent or directly from the website. The miles earned from my last trips cut this ticket by almost 50k.

Just thought to put this out there.

Back to it, so I flew Emirates from LOS - DXB- IAH. Emirates is an amazing airline....super super amazing.

CBP: passport please.
Me: I gave him.
He now separated my two passport.
CbP: do you have any valid Visa on this. He raised my old passport.
Me: No.
CbP: Then you don't need this.
Me: *rolls eyes*
CBP: business or pleasure
ME: vacation
CbP: where are you going to be staying
ME: with family in ******. I started getting out my phone to give him the exact address.
CBP: place your four right fingers....took my picture
CbP: how long are u staying
Me: about 3 weeks I'm leaving on ........
Cbp: how much do you have.
Me: .......dollars
CbP: do you have fresh meat and food.
Me: NO! But I have dry fish and dry veg and ......
CBP: Hands me back my passport.

I went to collect my bag and off I went. No secondary check.

Lessons learnt
Even if your layover exceeds 8hrs, Emirates will not provide accommodation for you if there was the option of a flight with a shorter connection layover.

That's how I spent 10hrs inside DXB eating and shopping because I was toooo eager to get out of Lagos to start my vacation.

I left on the 12.05pm flight which had over 10hrs layover instead of waiting for the 6.10pm flight which had about 4hrs.

Anyways I don become DXB expert...I know every nick and cranny of the place.

Really, how difficult is it to say the truth?

I thought you stated in your post that your father is in the US? So why don't you just say so in the form? They have your fathers records anyways.

Note also that you and your father are separate and distinct individuals and will be treated as such.

It is not unlikely that the fact that your father abused his visa may raise reasonable doubt in the mind of the VO that you will do the same, but it is always always always better to say the truth, especially as these VOs are not joking around and possibly already know that your father has not existed the US or already filed for extension or something.

Trust me it's better to be denied with option to retry than to be ban for telling an obvious lie.

If I were you, I will want to go for the interview (if applicable) knowing that no question asked will throw me off, raise my heart rate or make me stutter.

Yes, traditional wear is cool. Just be simple and smart. They aren't really looking at your clothing. Funny enough, 90% of Nigerians I saw inside the interview hall were dressed in formal wears but all the Visa Officers were beautifully dressed in Nigeria traditional attire!

I have this question about domestic connection in U.S (for International Flight) will the domestic flight check the weight of your luggage will you be bill for extra luggage?

So for domestic connection in US for international flights they will not check weight nor will they bill you extra when you buy your ticket from one airline. In my instance, i bought LOS - IAH from BA, so if they want to collabo with AA its their business, my own is that i am a BA international customer and all the luggage allowance for international travel applies to me till my final destination.
There was no stress along the way. Everyone understood the rules. To be honest, i was worried about the domestic leg of the trip, as i know US domestic airlines have very limited baggage allowance.

Anyways lets see how the return leg plays out.

I didnt post my POE from last year (Houston), so i told my self i must post this year. Just arrived Houston some minutes ago. Here we go.

Bought BA ticket LOS-LHR-PA-IAH a few weeks ago. Bought directly from BA as it was cheaper than Wakanow and travelstart. I was a bit 'unhappy'/'worried' cos the LHR-PA-IAH part of the journey was American airlines and i didnt know what to expect.
I arrived Philly (POE), at about 5.55pm the airport was practically empty.
CBP: what are u here for
Me: for a vacation
CBP: how long are u staying
Me: about 2 week and a few days. Infact i leave on ...... day.
CBP scans pasport and stamps it. It was easy.

After i collected my bags at Philly and i declared heaven and earth, the other officer just collected my landing card and asked me to go. No checks nothing.

Things to note:
If you are connecting domestic ( i did Philly to Houston) even if your bags are checked in till final destination, you have to pick them up at your POE and do a drop off again before you board to final destination.

I feel Philly is a very easy POE. I remember last year in Houston the CBP officer asked me all sort, i even had to show my return ticket and i went to agriculture for another scan and round of questions.

BA flight on BA was not bad, they had new movies but the plane felt a bit tight. Emirates is more spacious. The American airlines....hmmm, it was ok. Food was bleh.

The Philly to Houston part of it was delayed so be prepared to arrive in the midnight.
