The Pacing of Demon Slayer season 4 is awful...

You can clearly see that there is a large amount of fillers being added.

Worse, I heard the entire season was adapted from just 8 manga chapters wtf...

A typical anime episode usually contains 3 - 4 manga chapters...
But this season is adapting 8 chapters into 8 episodes I believe

Blood of Zeus season 1......8.2/10


Sometimes it's good to give a show a second try. I dropped this show on my first watch some years back and I decided to try again after season 2 was released and yeah the show did impress me in some areas.
I won't go into the plot because i assume most people here watched it.

The show highlights humans are merely pawns in the schemes of the gods. The show doesn't show the gods as noble, in fact they are worse than the humans they claim to guide...even Zeus.

It also addresses Free will vs Fate.
The gods claimed that humans have free will but are merely guided by the gods and used the "symbolism of a child crawling towards the edge of a table".
And the gods take the role of the adults saving the child from his mistakes and guiding the child.

This raises many ideas for instance the gods themselves been imperfect, whimsical and acting out their desires, wants, emotions, revenge etc. How then can they who are worse than humans guide the humans?

The real victims in the show are the humans themselves. Heron and his brother Seraphim for instance...and even the innocent villagers caught in the schemes of the gods.

Seraphim has the right idea of being free from the whims of the gods but he goes about it the wrong way. The more he tries to fight his way out of their control, the more his fate becomes further determined by the whims and actions of these gods.
Even in death he cannot escape it.

Perhaps the only way for Seraphim to escape it is to do away with his own desires for revenge and power and his fear. Otherwise he is condemned to remain their plaything.

Will watch season 2 soon...

I didn't like it when I tried it years ago...but surprisingly I'm enjoying it so far...

If someone from that Madrid team must win the Ballon D'or...it has to be Vinicius and not that Bellingham...

Vinicius has worked hard... remember his first season where he was poor at finishing and could only dribble but miss empty net...

Yet he has improved consistently every season unlike our Fati we compared him to back then...

I don't like Vinicius but he certainly deserves it over that goal poaching ghost Bellingham

From just the title card and screenshots, I can tell that this manhwa is very likely to end up being trash. This is probably just another Korean male power fantasy Cultivation-lite where a guy learns how to fight so he can beat up his school bullies. Then it probably develops into some sort of gang warfare or something involving other schools where he takes out a series of minor bosses. Of course, some chicks in the MC's harem will, at some point, be kidnapped, drugged, and almost SA'd by the bad guys.

The characters will remain as flat as boards and the manhwa will keep on going and going until it becomes unrecognisable. Then it will end in a whimper, waaay after it's expiration date. All while somehow still managing to have a bunch of unresolved plot threads.

There is no Power fantasy here sha from what I've seen so far...

It doesn't look like a show that will develop into that...

You mostly spoke of random things without dissecting into the plot, themes or characters of the movie...

You had no reason to prevent spoilers anymore since everyone has seen it already...so you should at least dissect into the movie not deviating to random things...

What do you mean by actors in Nollywood sticking to one role? How many roles do Ryan Reynolds or Dwayne Johnson act? They literally play the same characters every movie. It's not a Nollywood exclusive thing...

I read this expecting to see you analyze the message of the movie, it's themes and your interpretation of the characters...
Yet you focused on random things like a kissing scene...

I shouldn't be surprised since it seems from your post, you rarely even watch movies...

By Nollywood standards that movie is nothing less than an 8/10 to be honest. It's far better than many of the overhyped mid movies Nollywood has been producing...

Watching this movie, I can see why some rated it very low and some others felt it was okay.

I think most of the people who gave this movie like 2/10 didn't get past the 40 minutes mark.

The first 40-50 minutes or so felt like the worst movie I'd seen in 2023...
I knew there had to be a twist, cos the movie couldn't be that bad...

I had several ideas for the twist including the Rourke being the bad guy or that Lev Dellrayne didn't exist...etc

I hoped the twist would somehow explain the bad writing decisions and make everything make sense

The twist came and everything did make sense


However this movie still suffers from an execution problem. The idea isn't bad, but the execution had problems. A lot of the plot points were set up earlier...a lot was foreshadowed but when it came to the execution, it wasn't done well

A major plot issue here is how hypnotics powers work. I believe it was said that they manipulate through the brain...i.e make people see a different version of reality.
For some weird reason this hypnosis seems to work on someone miles away even before they were in any close proximity. For example the division agents were under the hypnosis of Rourke's daughter right from miles away in Helicopters even without them being anywhere near contact.
It's even likely that she hadn't met many of them ever in her life, yet they were already under her hypnosis.
Things like this break the entire rules and power system set up previously


For the twist, while the twist could be said to be good, everything that came after was badly executed and mostly predictable. The plan of Rourke had many holes in it...same as that of the division
E.g Rourke being allowed by the Division to take his daughter away. For someone they were grooming that way with so much plans, there was no reason to let her out of their sights. Anything could happen, her parents could hide her, she could be involved in a random accident, a third party with spies in the division could take her etc

It makes no sense that an agency like that with their high tech didn't have a decryption AI to decrypt a code like Lev Dellrayne being very similar to the name of a street?
That they somehow had no info about his past that he lived with surrogate parents for many years?

Rourke's plan to lure every division agent out to kill them was laughable


He somehow bet that an entire agency would send every single agent out to get him? And they wouldn't have any more agents at their base?
If he killed the ones that came, shouldn't they have more to send after him?

He somehow bet that they wouldn't snipe him out of their helicopter or car? But instead all would come out in the open like idiôts against a hypnotic?

The after-credits scene didn't even make any sense. The division leader foôled Rourke, his wife and his daughter (the strongest hypnotic alive) easily.
Then why did they need the daughter in the first place

The division had hypnotics on their teams but couldn't use another two to breed and form another child as a backup plan?

Zendaya's character deserves to suffer for all she did. Such a manipulator and a disgusting person.

It was quite annoying watching the 2 guys sîmp for such a disgusting woman/mother all because they thought she was sèxy...

This movie was just a Zendaya wànk fest. She didn't even fit the role of a mother although that was likely done on purpose to show how terrible of a mother the character was...

However the parts that did catch my interest was the relationship between the two friends and I love the fact that it concluded with them enjoying playing tennis against each other...

Zendaya also got to relive her prime years before her injury by watching them play "high level tennis"
She deserved worse...
We needed to see them dûmp her àss...
It shouldn't have been open ended...

One big issue I had with the movie tho was the tennis...
I know the highlight of the movie were the character relationships told through the medium of a low level tennis game...but it felt to me like very little effort was put into the game...

I'm not going to pretend to be a tennis expert and I rarely watch the game...but the tennis I know is not just characters slamming the ball almost directly at each other...
No attempt at placing, etc...

Felt like watching complete amateurs play...

The final showdown made no sense from a game standpoint with 2 players hitting the ball at each other while they both stayed so close to the net so many times...

That's absolutely not possible in real tennis...and makes absolutely no sense

I thought we would see Zendaya getting gangbànged on TV but they didn't do that scene

The literal definition of "shut-off-your-brain-and-watch"

I didn't go in expecting some serious plot...but at least have the decency to make something suitable for anyone above 12.

Even for popcorn movies, there's a limit to which I can shut off my brain.
Nothing in this movie makes any sense...from the story to the characters acting like the biggest idîots...

The writing is extremely laughable even for an unserious movie...

Apparently you can now fake your death by crashing a boat and leaving behind only your cloth...
No body, no teeth, nothing, just a piece of clothing and everyone including the police somehow believe you're dead...ok...

I get it's supposed to be a comedy that makes no sense...but still at least show some signs that you take your audience seriously...
