Which latest anime dey on point this season asides newly dropped Demon Slayer episode??

Abeg, no Isekai.... That genre is the least I endure in anime and get put off knowing something is based on it. Tried to give Solo Leveling some love with all the hype late last year when it was announced. Na premium shite I see. Not sure where I stopped sef, episode 5/6. 😤

Now the show is getting cooked all over Reddit and Twitter for being "one of the worst falloffs of any anime".

There's a reason I checked out of the show after 3 episodes...

In real world operatives are the most unassuming ones. whats the point in training if it allows the other party to identify you with the traits you trained to cultivate eg body movements, gestures, reactions which inevitably make you stand out.

The 1st cardinal requirement of any operative worth its salt is not his/her fighting skills but their ability to blend into their environment and not raise suspicions while performing their assumed role, which itself is rare ie using own people inside target country, better to use discontent people or those for hire from target country itself.

only in movies a so called agent can fight his/her way out by engaging 10s and even 100s of enemies. In real life it means that their ass is cooked 200%

The Americans and Homeland are shows that really nailed the whole spy iish...

I've three episodes but I've seen two .. I can't go past the second one .. The series from its trailer looked promising but omoh, the movie na borefest oo .. worst part is, I couldn't grab the storyline of the show..

Now that you mentioned it, let me just delete the damn thing, seeing ep3 would be a waste of time..

Kill boksoon is a solid 8/10 for me
As a series addict, i decided to watch a movie for the first time this year and someone recommended kill boksoon for me and i must say that i am very impressed.
This isn't just an action thrilling movie, i like the lessons behind the movie.

Never trust anyone in life. The scene where Boksoon's friends suddenly wanted to kill her because the company offered them money and employment, that scene was a lesson of life.
Same persons she ate and dined with all turned against her in split seconds.

This is life for you, the people you call bloods haven't been tested to betray you because if an offer to take you down is presented to them, an offer too good to be true, they will eventually take you down.

Secondly what i leant about the movie is that as a man, you are not the first priority of your woman.
Her first priority is her children or child and her money.
The way the chairman protected and loved boksoon till the end, yet in his selfish and greedy nature, she still explored her weakness and killed him even without blinking.

Though not women but majority of women are selfish by nature.

Anyways it was a great watch, nice fighting scenes, i like that they didn't make her too good and she received lots of beatings during fights which make it more realistic to viewers.

Go and watch your first anime too

It's premium good if intelligent Spy series is your jam. But this one isn't action focused like 'em ”24”, "Strike Back". It has copious lengthy dialogue and back and forth and actual espionage not action.

It's an engrossing watch tho if you are into ISIS, Middle Eastern militia groups, Russian oligarch and secret services (FSB & KGB) etc.

I stopped at S2. Still plan to get back to it and complete it sometime in the future.

I think season 3 or 4 was the best season of the show...

I think I stopped around season 6

God I need X-Men 97 season 2 right now , though the latest episode had a little flaw

Couldn't even finish Episode 6, the plot was all over the place with the "twist" that "somebody" survived and was playing politics with an alliance marriage.

The whole thing with Storm and the demon too just tire me...

It felt like too many concepts were being introduced at once and they didn't fit in to the world...

Anyway, I'm waiting to binge it when the season ends

I'll mostly talk about the finale.
I will admit that I expected action but seeing as the last episode was titled "Crimson Sky", I suspected there might not be focus on a big battle here.

And this episode made me understand the last one better. I watched this on the road and I'll do a rewatch later...but this is my current understanding -

Toronaga knew that he stood no chance fighting in a 1v5 battle. So what an army could not do, he sent a woman.

Mariko's goal was to destroy the Allaince led by Ishido against Toronaga. Her goal was to reveal Ishido's nature to the council of regents and most importantly Ochiba.

It's been revealed in past Episodes that Ochiba hated Toronaga out of fear, she even suspected that he caused her father's death even when she had no proof. That fear was what led her to side with Ishido to protect her son, the heir.

Mariko's poem in Episode 9 was actually a message or offer to Ochiba that only Ochiba was able to dicipher. I'm yet to decipher it until a rewatch perhaps...
Ishido's actions regarding Mariko led the council of regents and Ochiba to know what Ishido would do to them immediately Toronaga was killed.

Ishido did not keep to his word to allow Mariko leave but rather assassinated her. Even though he denied it and blamed Toronaga, the regents doubted and Ishido lost the trust of the regents. To them, Toronaga was a man who had lost and had been pushed to a corner while Ishido became their biggest threat.

With Ochiba choosing to side with Toronaga and thus stay out of the war, Ishido has no banner go fight under and no army to aid him in his battle against Toronaga.

Toronaga understood this and knew he had won the coming war already with Ishido having no idea whatsoever.

But then it is revealed that Toronaga's true intentions have always been to become Shogun. He denied it all season but in his heart it was always his goal. It was in his blood. That's why he said at the end "why tell a dead man of the future" when he was asked if he wanted to be Shogun.

In other words, Toronaga basically won the war before lifting his sword.

But because of Toronaga's desire to be Shogun, he lost his closest allies including his closest friend and he ends up alone on the cliff.

I think it basically represents Toronaga being on top of the world without friends by his side. All alone. So he is basically the villain if you see it that way.

As for John Blackthorne's fate, it is revealed that the scenes of him returning to England and being old in England with his English children is merely a dream. In the dream he held on to Mariko's chain necklace. In reality he placed it in the river.

He will never leave Japan but rather be Toronaga's puppet. Toronaga will play him and sink his ship several times if need be to keep him there building a stronger army for Toronaga.

In all, I thought some of the character arcs were solidly completed. But I did not like the conclusion to Ochiba's character.
I wanted to know for sure if Toronaga actually killed her father...or it's merely a figment of imagination borne out of her fear. The show left this plotline unanswered.

Also the way Ochiba chose to side with Toronaga is unconvincing. It also doesn't give closure as there's still about a month before the battle...what if she changes her stance before then?

We also needed to see Ishido's death...and see Toronaga becoming the Shogun.

What is the Heir's fate? Does Toronaga kill him and Ochiba?

There are way too many unanswered questions that a few minutes of added screentime could have cut to.

It was like the show kept edging us but didn't let us nût.

Overall, a really solid show...but the finale could have been better...instead it leaves way too much open to interpretation

Personally I think Better Call Saul is as good or even better than Breaking Bad...

I certainly enjoyed it more than Breaking Bad...

Seasons 1 and 2 of Breaking Bad were a snorefest...
Had to take about 2 years break...from season 3, it became really good...

The only issue I had with Better Call Saul were some visual storytelling... specifically the black and white scenes...I hated them....

I understood the visual storytelling they represented but I still hated them...it got to a point that I began to fast forward every scene in Black and White...

There are better ways to pass the message about future Saul's bleak life than using those...
