OPEN HEAVENS
DEVOTIONAL - SATURDAY -
21/12/2013 - BE TRULY
ROOTED BY PASTOR E.A.
ADEBOYE
BE TRULY ROOTED
MEMORY VERSE
Rooted and built up in him, and
stablished in the faith, as ye have
been taught, abounding therein
with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:7
READ
Hebrews 6:1-2
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving
the principles of the doctrine of
Christ, let us go on unto
perfection; not laying again the
foundation of repentance from
dead works, and of faith toward
God,
Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of
baptisms, and of laying on of
hands, and of resurrection of the
dead, and of eternal judgment.
MESSAGE
You can overcome the attacks of
the devil if you can simply obey
God's Word. Before taking on the
devil, be sure of your salvation
because the salvation of many
today is questionable. Many are
pretenders and have really
never answered the altar call for
salvation at any time. At the time
they should be answering the
altar call of Calvary, they are
already ushers, Sunday school
teachers or even pastors. This is
one reason we must be very
careful before bringing an
individual into the work force
particularly in new parishes
where they need workers.
Ensure such an individual is
genuinely saved and not just that
he or she is zealous and
regularly attends church
programmes.
Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
How do you know that you are
truly saved? It is by assessing the
change your salvation has
brought to your life.
Nebuchadnezzar was negatively
born-again. How? When he went
to bed he was a king but the
following morning he had turned
into an animal ( Daniel 4:20-33 ).
If you say you are born-again
and you are still doing the evil
things that you used to do, it
shows you are not born-again.
When I was saved, we were
taught about salvation,
sanctification, baptism in the
Holy Spirit etc. We were rooted
in the Word. But today, there are
all kinds of teachers who play
down these doctrines and only
emphasize salvation and water
baptism. That is why you see
people who speak in tongues yet
they go and fornicate; people
who indulge in alcohol and yet
claim to be in God's service. Let
us get back to the basics!
In addition, to overcome Satan's
attacks, pray without ceasing.
Remember that Satan and his
demons are fallen angels who
never tire, rest or sleep. Ask that
the Lord Jesus who prayed for
Peter should also pray for you.
No matter how holy or careful
you are, if God does not keep
you, you will surely fall. We are
kept by the power of God.
PRAYER POINT
Father, grant me grace to be
rooted and grounded in the love
of Christ.

Culture / Today's Poll: Sagging by Badirukehinde(m): 1:11am On Dec 20, 2013
TODAY'S POLL: SAGGING

It is of no surprise to see guys sagging
because it had become a lifestyle,if I should
say and for those who don't know, prisoners in Europe were not given
belts to hold thier trouser so as to
avoid violence among inmates using
their belts as instruments of violence.

What baffles me the most is seeeing
LADIES sagging...It has far gone by the
tag; TREND as it has become a culture
that seem not to be getting eroded...

The question is this fams; Is SAGGING
a FASHION or a means of displaying
FOOLISHNESS & FRIVOLITY in a stylish
way or manner
?

What's your take on this people...Lets

And I pray he's not going to end up like that...His life will be a difference...He's already been enrolled in an art school
...These are part of his pratical works...There are many others which I'll be sharing soon if this appear on FP

Nairaland / General / 10 Questions Successful People Ask Every Single Day by Badirukehinde(m): 12:03am On Dec 14, 2013
I just thought I should share a few motivational tips with my esteemed fellow Nairalanders...

***10 QUESTIONS SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE ASK EVERY SINGLE DAY***

The best way to solve a problem is not to complain always, but to ask questions even if it's just once,as long as it provides answers...Badiru Kehinde.
Some people complain a lot but they fail to recognize the fact that ACTING/SOLVING & COMPLAINING takes the same nerve...You could use the energy which would rather have been lost due to complaining to take a bold step to finding a solution...These are the 10 questions successful people ask every single day;

1. How do I want the world to be different because I live in it?

2. How do I become different to the world because I live in it?

3. How do I get rid of junks.?

4. Where am I wrong?

5. What do I love to practice?

6. How can I improve?

7. Where should I break the rules?

8. Have I lived on purpose today?

9. How can I effect a change?

10. Do my actions define success?

I hope this is useful to you, what's your take on this...your comments are appreciated & well welcomed.
..You can as well share yours

Uyi Iredia: On Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela,
A great leader,
born of the struggle,
to free blacks shackled,

Nelson Mandela,
he didn't surrender,
when tides turned tough,
he never was rough,

Nelson Mandela,
the African father,
a symbol of hope,
bound us like rope,

Nelson Mandela,
bore great power,
though great stayed lowly
with lesser men haughty,

Nelson Mandela,
never one purer,
but did his bit,
and his light lit,

Nelson Mandela,
came out stronger,
for 27 years jailed,
his spirit never failed,

Nelson Mandela,
South Africa's Madiba,
while we bid you bye-bye,
your legacy shan't die.

- Uyi Iredia.

THE LEGENDARY MADIBA

A fruit that sprout out in 1918,
Grew up in the pool of the pathetic aparthied system.

He was a man,A man was he,
He suffered for others to enjoy the fruits of freedom.

Freedom was his desire,
Egalitarianism He struggled for.

A legend he was,A legend he is,
A legend he will continue to be,

Its painful there is no replacement of you,
A man who will forever remain in our hearts.

Heaven's sent, man of honour and valour
The madiba of our lifetime.

Icon of anti-aparthied movement,
Icon of peace and justice.

O ye death! be not proud over him,
Death could have taken you away but you forever remain in our hearts.
