Chapter 34

The Confrontation

John - AKA Joneral - was fast becoming the next notorious cultist in school, he was rash and quick to act, if only he knew he would literarily lose his hand maybe he would have kept them by his side. But he didn't. He had to listen to the stubborn demon whispering in his ears.
- C R A C K -
That was the sound Badoh heard, the others heard it too because Mezie's friend reacted both in surprise and anger. John had intended to dare Baroni, so he went ahead to wave his hand in Baroni's face and he had caught his hand and twisted it swiftly to his back. The crack sound was followed by a chilling scream. Joneral was in pain and could not help himselfas he cried freely like a baby, the pain of a broken arm is excruciating.
Baroni stood up, all the veins in his body looked like they were outside his skin. Fear gripped Mezie as he took a step back. One of the other two helped Joneral, while the other who looked more angry than fearless pulled out a cutlass (buried underneath his trouser) from his belt and charged at Baroni. As he lifted it up, the caretaker pulled a gun out of his waist and pointed it at him. The pointman froze. On seeing a gun, he raised both hands up. Baroni signalled with the gun as he slowly dropped the machete.
The carpenter picked up the cutlass while every other person there raised their hands, safe for Badoh and the carpenter. Baroni moved the gun closer to the pointman's head while he slowly moved back. He followed him till his back hit the uncemented fence. He put the gun on his forehead, then slowly moved it the side of his head, slightly above his ear.
"You get morale bring out cutlass for my yard?" Baroni asked the pointman. He knew he had him where he wanted his enemy. He would make him understand why the name BARONI brings fear to cultist.
"Bros abeg, I beg you, abeg," that was all the pointman could say as his head tilts away from the gun.
Baroni was pure old school. Spilling of blood was necessary to send a message. He used the head of the gun on the pointman's nose as blood ran out.
"Bros abeg, ah abeg, I still young." The pointman said.
"Sharrap! Come on put your hand for your mouth. Abi you dey craze?" Baroni asked him. He could not talk, he held his mouth with his bloodied palms shaking his head vigorously to the question.
"Your brain go fit chop my groundnut? Abi you no ask questions first?" Baroni continued. While this was going on, the carpenter who was with the cutlass rounded up the rest of the gang.
"First of all, go down low, Badoh, go inside, I no want make you dey here when e happen." Baroni told Badoh while holding the gun at the pointman and others.
Badoh took about 2 or more steps before realizing that his walking out of here is not synonymous to walking out of the trouble that will come after. He halt his movement and turned towards Baroni.
"Abeg let them go. Bros I de beg." Badoh said to Baroni. He did not know what to expect from the raging caretaker.
"My guy, this matter na personal matter, na about respect," Baroni replied Badoh. Letting these disrespectful children go was a sacrilege in his commandments.
"Boss, previous gbege dey ground wey need settle. So even if I absent myself I go still be suspect and target, I no want anymore target for my back. Naim make me dey beg you." Badoh pleaded with Baroni. But he wasn't buying what he was selling.
"They need learn respect. Even for your enemy, respect is important." Baroni roared kicking at Mezie. He was genuinely angry that Mezie disrespected him, he's dealed with worse students over the years, but Mezie's gang was nothing close to formidable. Occasionally one or two students in the lodge would decide to bend his laws, like staying out later than 9.00pm, he usually turned a blind eye to that, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when many would go out to watch the UEFA Champions League, or Big Brother Africa.
"I understand say you need teach them respect, bros, look them na, them don learn," he urged the caretaker.
"Yes sir. We don learn am," the captives chorused. They kept pleading with Baroni, and at intervals they would plead with Badoh. But Mezie did not plead with Badoh, he still had uncooked beef against him.
He pulled away his gun from them and inserted it in his belt.
"See wetin go happen," Baroni spoke to Mezie this time. He continued, "You break the rule of no fighting for my lodge. The penalty na N5,000. Two. You break the rules of no cult activity inside my lodge. This one too na N5,000 cash. If you no pay N10,000 fine, you no go enter your room. If you break the door, I go find you anywhere you hide then I go break you. If you get any problem with anybody for this lodge as from today, you get problem with me. If you wanto craze, craze am go far from here, you understand?" Baroni asked Mezie drawing his ear as he spoke.
"Yes sir," Mezie answered.
"Oya make una disappear," Baroni barked. They stood up and ran out of the compound, including Joneral who limped out with his broken hand. "You just safe somebody now now," Baroni said to Badoh as he took his sit alongside the carpenter who did not return the cutlass to Mezie's friend.
"Yes, that's because my beef still dey fire, e never done," Badoh responded.
"Nothing mega, them no reach handle na," the carpenter chipped in.
"I no want more problem so I'll go see them today or tomorrow," Badoh said.
"That's not a good idea my guy," Baroni warned as he lit another stick of MJ. But Badoh was adamant, he needed his life back fast, so he had to settle this problem before it escalates.

Can you please shed light to the benefit of weeds?
I want to learn.....joke apart
This is not meant to encourage smoking, but to Ansa ur question... Everything has it's disadvantage as well as advantage. Don't blame MaryJuana, blame it's abuserz..

Anti-drug activists think that a few puffs on a joint will turn you into a red-eyed, unemployed psychopath – probably for life.
But is marijuana actually that bad for you?
With several American states having decriminalised the herb for personal use, scientists have suddenly had the chance to see what cannabis actually does on a mass scale.
And guess what? Cannabis actually has some VERY surprising health benefits. Here’s a few.
MORE: It turns out weed might be a performance enhancing drug
1) Smoking weed makes you thinner – or at least less likely to be obese
You might not think it after you’ve watched a munchie-struck stoner devour an entire KFC family bucket in one go, but dope smokers are less likely to be obese.
A study in the journal Obesity found that regular weed smokers are less likely to be obese than non-smokers.
The researchers from Conference of Quebec University Health Centers looked at 700 adults aged 18-74 – and found that cannabis users tend to have low body mass index scores (often taken as a sign of good health).
People with low BMIs tend to have less body fats and tend to be at lower risk for diabetes.
2) Marijuana can actually improve lung function
Smoking weed isn’t actually that bad for your lungs, and smokers actually have improved lung function when compared to both cigarette smokers – and people who have never smoked either.
The researchers, writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, say that the big drags taken by weed smokers may actually ‘train’ lungs to be more efficient.
3) It can increase creativity
A 2012 study in Consciousness and Cognition found that marijuana made people more creative – at least in terms of how well they used language.
The researchers said, ‘We investigated the effects of cannabis smoked naturalistically on schizotypy and divergent thinking, a measure of creativity.
‘One hundred and sixty cannabis users were tested on 1 day when sober and another day when intoxicated with cannabis.
‘Cannabis increased verbal fluency in low creatives to the same level as that of high creatives.’
4) Weed can help athletes perform better
Gordy Megroz of Outside conducted his own study after noting the number of athletes who credit marijuana use for increased performance and recovery.
And however unscientific you deem his little self-experiment to be, he found that he performed better on the treadmill and was less sore after a heavy squat session.
‘I do a heavy squat session while high, which would normally leave me sore for two days, but I’m surprisingly fresh 24 hours later,’ he wrote.
‘Even when not stoned, other aches and pains seem to dissipate, too.
‘Studies have shown that the drug has an anti-inflammatory effect, which is one reason why medical marijuana is so prevalent.’
Because of marijuana’s illegality in most places, hard research is still hard to come by.
5) Cannabis can kill cancer cells
In what could be a key moment for advocates of legal cannabis, the U.S. government has admitted that the drug can shrink cancer cells.
In a page of official government advice, the U.S. government now says,, ‘Cannabis has been shown to kill cancer cells in the laboratory.’
The site says that the effect has so far been seen in rodent studies, and cautions, ‘At this time, there is not enough evidence to recommend that patients inhale or ingest Cannabis as a treatment for cancer-related symptoms or side effects of cancer therapy.’
Cancer Research UK warns patients that so far, there is no evidence that cannabis extracts can be used as a treatment.
6) It’s a far safer alternative to alcohol – in fact, it’s 114 times safer
Cannabis could actually be the safest drug available, after a study found it is actually 114 times less deadly than alcohol, according to the journal, Scientific Reports.
The reports ‘ authors studied the effects of alcohol, heroin, cocaine, tobacco, ecstasy, crystal meth and cannabis.
7) Smoking weed can help you give up heroin
Smoking weed helps patients give up opiates such as heroin, a new study has found.
Researchers at Columbia University monitored patients undergoing treatment for opiate addiction – and found that patients who smoked weed were more able to sleep, less anxious, and more likely to complete their course.
The researchers also found that dosing patients with dronabinol – a drug consisting of the ‘active’ ingredient in cannabis, THC – helped with withdrawal symptoms.
High Times also points out that opiate-related deaths have dropped in American states which have legalised the recreational use of marijuana.

Chapter 33

The Retaliation II

Screams could be heard from the lodge as few students paid in full for sins that weren't even that of their fathers.

"E remain that one," one of the assailant said pointing towards Efe.

"Ah," Efe cried as the force of each machete whip fell on his back.

A loud sound that sounded like a gunshot could be heard startling Aspira and his group of thugs. It was followed by a voice which yelled, "Baroni don return o,". This led to the gang running towards the door as they left the building in a hurry. Without waisting any time, they boarded the bikes they came with and zoomed off.

Efe stopped crying because he knew his punishment was fun when being compared to that of Akin and the other students who rushed towards their rooms and locked the door behind them. He knew that the voice that shouted that Baroni was back belonged to Ken, and wondered if the prior sound was a gunshot.

Ken stepped out of his hiding place and rushed towards Akin who was visibly shaken by the unexpected torture he received. He held him and helped him up as Mouth cried uncontrollably. Gradually other students began to step out of their rooms. They could tell that the assailants had left. Those who came downstairs suggested that they took them to the chemist close to the lodge for medication although there was no injury on them, but the pain and experience still hurt like hell.

* * *

Later that afternoon, when Badoh returned from school, he had come through the back small gate. He already received a call detailing the events that took place in his absent that morning. He knew that the danger he faced had just doubled. "If they had the gods to give machete drill to innocent people one could only imagine what they would do to me!" He thought. He was so much aware of his environment that he would suspect everyone who walked by him, even the over speeding bike wasn't exempted from suspicion. It was his concern for his safety that made him pass the back gate where he was surprised to meet the caretaker.

"Bros, good afternoon." He greeted.

Baroni sat on a wooden bench along with the carpenter smoking MaryJuana. His anger was visible to even the blind man. He signalled Badoh asking him to sit down. The caretaker stretched his hand offering him the half smoked MJ but Badoh politely turned it down claiming he has had nothing to eat since morning.

"That yesterday Jew don march water water shit." Baroni said finally after a short moment of silence. He continued, "the one wey pain me be say he carry the shit enter my house."

"No vex boss. I no say na me cause am." Badoh said.

"Wetin you cause? Una fight, you beat am. Na shame suppose dey catch am. But he no get shame, obviously," the carpenter chipped in.

"When I put law say no fighting or confra things for here I know why. But pikin wey they bam yesterday come they break my rules. Make he no worry, I go clear he doubt." Baroni fumed.

"Bros, the truth be say that boy no reach who you go dey get mattaz with. No let am drag your leg out." Badoh tried to convince the caretaker.

Baroni knew that he was right. He already had all he needed to know about Mezie. He was a 200 level student who was barely a year into the game. He's never been in a war before, he was still like a bleeping Jew in the game yet he was crossing the line on a war veteran who survived World War Z. Even if he did not hurt him, he was going to make sure he showed him strong thing.

As the caretaker sat thinking about how best to hurt Mezie without actually hurting him, out of nowhere Mezie burst into his presence along with three other boys obviously paranoid.
"Oga caretaker, I hear say na you padlock my room door?" Mezie asked in a tone that said "do wetin you want do."

The quiet caretaker totally ignored him, something that took almost all his strength. He took a drag from his claro and blew the smoke away. Its believed that the claro is the sweetest part of the weed and it was always precious to MJ smokers, Baroni was no exception.

The caretaker's attitude infuriated Mezie's friend as he stepped forward waving his hand in front of his face, "No be you my guy dey talk to?" He asked Baroni.

"If you no wan lose your hand you better park am well." Baroni said without looking up. Badoh knew that this was exactly what Fela Kuti foresaw when he sang "trouble sleep nyanga dey wake am".

But I have a problem, so far it's like everyone can remember someone who's had a deal with her (Edua). Now it's beginning to look like she's slept with almost the whole of Lagos State. If she was an expensive prostitute, then few people should know her. My opinion ma'am.

Chapter 32

The Retaliation I

Crickets chirped, while the sound of the croaking frog could be heard from all over Anwai campus. The rainy season had stepped up it's game so the night was windy too.
Badoh found it difficult to sleep, not because of the beautiful she-male by his side, but because of the truckload of trouble he was yet to offload. He clearly heard the sound of Mezie's gang earlier that night and knew they were out for blood. He wasn't sure if handling the situation himself was the right choice. He wondered when Baroni would return, he was one he could count on.
He brought out his public opinion textbook and revised, he read from the first chapter and tried to digest everything written in it including the dedication, and reference. Pastor Ojo was the kind of lecturer whose greatest strength wasn't teaching, he would stand in front of the class and bore every student to sleep. Even when you sleep he still wouldn't let you be as he took pleasure in walking students out as well as taking impromptu test and attendance. Pastor Ojo was in the process of finishing up his doctorate degree in Awka (Nnamdi Azikiwe University) and would set test or classes anytime that suits him, including early morning and even on Sundays.
Badoh knew he had to study since he has failed to do that since resumption. He studied till 5am before Lydia joined him. Before 6.30am they had taken their bath and left the house since the rest starts by 7.oo a.m.
At about 7.05am, Ken who was outside with a few other lodgemates - including Efe and Mouth - told his friends that he was coming.
"Where you dey go?" Efe had asked him, but he brushed it off and said he would be back soon.
Mouth (Akin) alongside Efe and 4 other students stood by the corridor talking about the attack which had occurred the previous night with Efe reiterating his desire to leave the lodge that day till further notice. Akin in his usual superior self lambasted him as well as making fun of him. He did not fail to mention how it was important to Norse up to avoid any such harassment.
It was barely three minutes since Ken left when sound of bikes were heard outside. It was obvious that the bikes were up to 4 or more and people could be heard running, with girls screaming like it was the end of the world. It soon dawned on the little gathering of friends and neighbors that it was the return of unwanted visitors and in a twinkle of an eye they dispersed with different people running to different directions.
Akin ran towards the stairs in lightening speed as he aimed to take off through the back door. A confused Efe followed him as fast as he could. Unfortunately for Mouth he ran into the waiting arm of one of Mezie's senior friends, Aspira. His arm struck him perfectly on the neck which sent him straight to the ground as he struggled to breath.
Efe slowed down immediately he saw his friend spiraling on the floor. He tried to run but froze when he saw about 3 boys obstructing his way.
"If you move, your father!" Aspira shouted.
"Damn" Efe caused his luck. He concluded that"I don die well,".
"Oya move it," another said. Efe and Akin were dragged back inside and made to lie on the ground. Two other boys went straight to Badoh's room but found it locked. The lodge had suddenly turned into a graveyard as every other student around had run inside and locked their doors.
"Where that idiot wey call himself Badoh?" One of them asked sending a thumping slap to Efe's face.
"I no know o, I never see am this morning," he said crying like a baby denied of breast milk.
"Shut up, bascard. Una go suffer until una produce that Jew wey de form Van Dam," he said.
Aspira knew they could not stay in the lodge for too long, so he ordered that the three students caught be given machete drill (machete drill is when a Cutlass is used in place of a Cain, that is the flat end of the Cutlass will be used to flog them, it's an extremely painful process that will not cut them). At this point, Akin began to cry.

Chapter 31

The Great Escape III

Lydia told Badoh everything he needed to know about Mezie. She narrated how they met during their first year in school - the previous year, and how they had become close due to the fact that he was also from Imo state. She hailed from Mbaise while he was from Nekede, their Igbo dialect differ but the joy of seeing a fellow Imolite literally drew them close, but it became too close for Lydia when he asked her out.
Mezie did not take being rejected well. He persisted in asking her out but the more he tried the more space he created. He also hated seeing her with other guys, just then when he was almost making a headway, Badoh entered the picture. She was not dating either of them so she wondered why they would become aggressive towards themselves.
When she finished telling Badoh about the grumpy guy, He sighed knowing that from her narrative the guy was a wannabe, he wants to be a bad guy. He was impulsive, his best play was to let it play out. He was in deep thought when Lydia's voice stole his attention.
"Are you a cultist?" She asked. She never believed Mezie would go on to become a cultist. If someone had told her previously she would have defended him, especially since his father was a pastor. She had cut off ties with him when he woed her. She knew about his smoking cigarettes and worked with him to stop it. It worked actually, Mezie stopped smoking, the only problem was that he went ahead to spin her. Mezie knew her secret, why wouldn't he stick to being her friend? "Mtchew," the most annoying thing was that when she turned him down he resumed his smoking of cigarettes like he was trying to hurt her. "Well good riddance," she thought. Now she's with another friend, who knows he might be a cultist as well. She was certainly done with guys. Her family must not hear of this.
"Are you a cultist?" She asked him again almost in tears.
"Ah, no. Am a Jew." He said convincingly. But she was a bit lost.
"Jew! Meaning?" She asked him.
"Meaning I am not a cultist. I'm not a doffman. Am a Jew like you, meaning a non cultist," he emphasized.
"It's okay, I understand. But why did you hit him?" She lamented still near tears.
"He hit me first for no reason. I was only defending myself," he replied.
"I'm finished. I don't want any trouble." She cried.
Badoh held her close. He pet her gently.
"You have to trust me when I say I will handle this. I will." He said urging her to stop crying while looking deep into her eyes.
She stared back at him quietly. Somehow she just knew she could trust him. He was unusually calm for a Jew who have court case. She was swept away from her feet as Badoh kissed her deeply. She knew she wasn't supposed to kiss him back, she wanted to resist too but she was too weak to try, especially since it felt really good.
Badoh moved really slowly, as he kissed her, he pushed her gently towards the bed as her back hit the bed. He pulled out of her mouth and restarted from her forehead kissing her slowly. He moved to her ears kissing her softly. She moaned. He was brief with her ears as he took his kissing to the neck.
"Hmm ah!" She moaned softly.
He kissed her lips again. She swallowed a larger portion of his lips. Just when she was increasing the speed, he pulled away again. He moved to her orange sized boobs and tickled them from her cloth. She seemed to jerk a couple of times as he squeezed gently.
But as Badoh moved for her zip, she suddenly realized what was about happening. She pulled away.
"Stop, let's stop before it gets out of hand." She said stopping him. She sat up.
"Okay." He replied.
"I'll spend the night with you, but we can't have sex. I'm scared that's all." She said again.
"No problem. I can sleep on the rug if you want." He said. Standing up. Sex was the least of his worries. "I might have to miss class tomorrow so I can deal with the issue," he said to her.
"Not tommorow, we have early morning test, Pastor Ojo." She reminded him. This made him rethink his plan.
They had their bath that night, separately, after which they slept off. At about 10.00pm, some of Mezie's clique stormed the lodge but could not gain entrance because the gate gets locked up by 9.00pm. They made noise, threatened and barked but the carpenter who was in charge in Baroni's absence wouldn't bulge.
They shattered lots of bottles in front of the house and left. Unfortunately for Mezie's gang, when they returned in the morning, they met Badoh's absence because he had already left for Pastor Ojo's test. THIS DID NOT SAVE OTHERS FROM BEING DRILLED, EFE INCLUSIVE.

"Open up, it's Ken." His friend said.
"And Efe, plus mouth," Efe said referring to Akin.
"You dey craze, stupid boy," Akin said.
Badoh almost smiled, his friends were always so free, free from all the drama he's seen. He opened the door and let them in. They chopped knuckle - even though e no dey belle-full - and took their various positions on the bed and chair. Efe went into the kitchen and back, "you no go cook?" He asked.
"Mtchew!" Ken hissed. "Wetin happen?" He spoke to Badoh this time. He was worried for his friend. Badoh had never been the type to court trouble. That was why they became friends. They've always agreed that they came to school to study, chasing girls - which they are all guilty of - or partying and getting high are simply secondary. But his friend has somehow managed to mix himself with the one they could all agree was a "no go area", crossing the line with a confra boys.
Badoh sighed as he thought of what led to the fracas. "A very small something, a very nothing," he thought. He tried to tell his friends how Mezie had slapped him after first verbally attacking him, but he just sighed again.
"That guy f*ck up, I come mess up too." He finally said.
"Na true say he slap you?" Akin asked to which Badoh nodded.
"I overreact, maybe." He said.
"Omo na to gbeis be that. Me dey remove from this lodge this night, straight one week break naim I go take, I fit even extend am depending on whether those wey I leave behind still dey alive the next time I call. My advice be say make una remove too till..." Efe was obviously scared as his mouth went on rampage, he only kept quiet because of the way Ken looked at him.
"Guy lock up, scared boy. I keep telling you guys to Norse up. For me I think this is a good time to belong," Akin said to others. His superiority complex had taken over him countless times and today was no exception.
"Guy park well," Ken shushed Akin.
"Chill, shit happens. When shit happen, na to pack am remain." Badoh said to Ken.
"What do we do? How do we handle this?" Ken said to his friend. He knew they would be fall out from the "gbege".
"We do nothing, I want it to play out I'll take what I see," he said.
"It's settled then," Efe said in support of Badoh. His personal safety was his only concern at that moment. He would support any decision that did not include him doing anything.
"It's not settled," Ken said to counter not just Efe but Badoh too.
"That's not wise at all, it's a suicidal decision." Akin said, his countenance shouted at Badoh - "you want to kill yourself?"
"Seriously guys, I don't want you involved at all, please," he urged them.
Just then there was a knock on his door.
"Come in," Badoh said.
Lydia stepped into his room, she exchanged pleasantries with Badoh and his friends. Instinctively, Ken stood up, and told him they will finish their discussion later. Akin and Efe followed Ken out of the room but not without shaking hands with Badoh.
"Is it true?" Lydia asked him? She had settled on the plastic chair in the room and watched his friends leave one after the other. She was sure their discussion was related to what she heard. "Of course it's true. What have I gotten myself into?" She asked nobody. She rapped her head in her hands as she mourned her bad luck.
"You have nothing to worry about, I will handle it. Trust me," Badoh said while placing a hand on her shoulder. He tried reassuring her but he had more pressing need. He needed information. Information on Mezie. "I need you to tell me everything you know about that Mezie guy." Badoh subtly asked her.
"Well, he is a guy I've known since,..." Just as Lydia began talking, Baroni called Badoh from outside, his thick baritone voice hushed her as he made way into the room.
"I hear wetin happen, I want travel this afternoon, so lock your room door, you go crash for my room," Baroni ordered. Badoh spent no time thinking about it, he knew that if Baroni was absent, then the no fighting law wouldn't stand. He quietly followed Baroni who left him alone with Lydia once they were in the other room.
Trust, Mezie's men came that night but that's a story for another day.

Chapter 29

The Great Escape I

"Na wah o, but Badoh is not the troublesome type, how come?" Ken asked Efe and Akin as the news of the just concluded Mortal Kombat spread like wild fire.
"Omo eh, like this like this, Our guy go collect wella. I tell you. Na dat Igbo guy wey dey always smoke for frontage naim him go de whooze for tap, from now till the foreseeable future I no be he friend. ¶I love my life¶," Efe sang.
"Are you sure it's even true? Badoh maybe big but he's more of a weakling. No girlfriend, no connection that I know of except maybe Ken, and even the Ken sef is also a Jew like him. I pity una," Akin opined referring to Ken who was standing there with him. Efe burst into laughter with recent memory flashing to his mind.
"Wait o, no be you wey almost send your babe go 21 years imprisonment get mouth to de rake so? I talk am, I for tell Badoh make he let you die that day. Chai! I ef up bad!" Efe said in regret.
"You always have a big mouth, always," Ken said to Akin.
"Yes, big mouth with plenty action to back it up," Akin chipped in.
"Really?" Ken asked amazed.
"Really. How many times have I told you guys to Norse up? But no.
" Akin said.
"Abeg abeg, let's go check Badoh, stop dreaming of what you are not," Ken dismissed him.
***
After the storm, comes the rain. Sitting on his bed, the rage starts to evaporate. Badoh's cloth was still wet, he had somehow opened up his skin as sweat pumped out. He never wanted it to get to that. He pored over event of the last hour. He was in deep shit. He briefly entertained the idea of calling brother Samson, but he remembered what Viv had told him, so he shelved that idea.
“Violence, even well intentioned, always rebounds upon oneself.” That one’s Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher. In my experience, it’s true. It has been proven that one can always talk their way out of trouble in almost any given moment, or even walk away. Badoh knew clearly the truth about violence, "violence brings more violence". He's seen it first hand, he lived in it for a long time, he watched people he knew well get hacked to death with machetes, stones and more recently guns, he hated it but sometimes violence must take it by force.
Right from when he was a boy, back then his family suffered untold hardship. Those days when he would cry into the house, his elder brother would ask him about his aggressor. After that Samson would give him a stick, wood or stone to go break their head, he always did. In most cases, his elder brother takes over the fight whenever the aggressor bring in extra hands.
Samson also taught Badoh the right places to hit an opponent during a fight to help neutralize them quickly and with few hits, those titbits came in handy occasionally like today again.
'The nose is an excellent spot to hit someone if you don’t necessarily want to knock them out. Scientifically speaking, a light punch to the nose goes a long way. First, it only takes a few pounds of pressure to break a person’s nose, anywhere from 7-9 pounds, which you’re more than capable of delivering. A punch square to the nose is disorienting, thanks to the excruciating pain of the broken cartilage and all the blood that goes with it. The nose is also connected to your eyes via tear ducts, meaning damage to the nose often results in tears—and, thus, temporary loss of vision—which is the best advantage to have during a one-on-one confrontation.' (coolmaterial.com).
Others include chin, jaw, throat, solar plexus, kidney and back of the head. He had not fought in 4 years, he always wrung his way out of potential fight but today was different, he was high on weed, he had very little control of his aggressive side, "shit happens" he thought.
A knock on his room door broke into his thoughts, "who is it?" Badoh asked, he could hear his heart beat, gbim, gbim, gbim!
