MaxInDHouse: There are lots and lots of prophets who quotes the Bible out of context to authenticate themselves. So instead of allowing some Arabs to deceive you by cherry picking texts from the Bible why not ask for the BENEFIT of their religion? I see you don't have an answer, but it's alright. |

after4: All these fanatics always trying to find relevance with Christianity, read from verse
In Vs 1 it says "woe to Jerusalem, to Jerusalem the city where David dwelt" In Vs 11-12 "the whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men delivers to one who is literate, saying "Read this please, " And he says "I cannot, for it is sealed" Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, "Read this please, And he says, "I am not literate"
There is nothing like Mohammed in that place and it's not talking about a person but Jerusalem, please go and look for validation some where else stop desecrating the Bible, before we begin to talk about your Quran now oh Who made that statement? |

Arkmanbuddy: Mohammedans trying to establish relationship with the Bible. There's no mention of Mohammed in the Bible, and the only connection we Christians can make with the Quran is that it contains nothing but half-truths.
Any book which teaches against the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus is false. Who is the unlearned prophet that was given a book? |

Isiah 29:12 "And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying read this, I pray thee: and he said am I not learned" To the Christians, which unlearned prophet was a book delivered to? The Hebrew version of the Bible (in Isiah 29:12) mentioned cave Xira pronounced chira similarly pronounced as Hira. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) received his first revelation in cave Hira. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 5:33pm On Aug 10, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: The passage says God rested on the 7th day from His creation work. What it doesn't say is that God did absolutely no work on the 7th day. Another thing it doesn't say is that God continued with the creation job after the 7th day. So it is invalid to assume the seventh day in which God rested to subject to the same rules given by God in regards the Sabbath day which He decreed in the land or Israel. Do you work when you rest? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 5:21pm On Aug 10, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: how so? Saying no is like saying Gen 2:. 2-3 is wrong |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 4:58pm On Aug 10, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: NO. The Sabbath day is a day out of a week in which the people of Israel are commanded to do no work. However, in Genesis, we are told instead that God rested from all of His creation work, not that He only rested for only one day. So the Sabbath rest of God isn't a matter of a day. Or to put it another way, Genesis does not tell us that God only rested for one day. FYI That's contradictory to Bible. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 4:30pm On Aug 10, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: It was a day of Rest, a Holy day, rest from work of creation. Doesn't mean He did absolutely nothing. Instead, it means He didn't do creation-related work.
Consider here the Sabbath law of the Old Covenant, which basically was a day in which God commanded the people of Israel to do no work. Does this mean God demanded them to do literally nothing on that day? Absolutely not! Instead what God commanded them not to do any unholy work - labor that was for perishable food. On the Sabbath, a man was allowed to rescue his animal should it fall into a well or fell in harms way, people were allowed to help those in need on the sabbath day, heal those who are sick, cast out demons, etc. So, it wasn't totally a day to do Absolutely nothing in but instead a day to do only show love to one's neighbor in obedience to God's commandment and it is known as a day of rest. Did God rest on the Sabbath day? Yes or No |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 12:16am On Aug 10, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: The inclusion of the seventh day seemed like it was to make clear that the work took 6 days. And the mention of rest(Holy) seemed to indicate a beginning of that which is not a part of the creation job which was previously concluded. What exactly did God do on the seventh day? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 10:16pm On Aug 09, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: God is always working so it ain't a question of fatigue or tiredness. Instead, as the passage clearly informs you, God rested from all the work of creating He had done. God's creation project was completed in 6 days is what we are being told there. It could have been "God created everything in six day" but the secenth day was included for a reason. The word "rest" was mentioned twice |

Christianity Etc › Why Did The God Rest On The Seventh Day? by Balerion(op): 6:37pm On Aug 09, 2022 |
According to Genesis 2:2-3 "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating he had done" My question is why would an omnipotent and supreme being rest? Was he tired? Fatigued? Or he just needed to rest? |

Quran 17:4 "And we made known to the children of Isreal in the book: Certainly you will make mischief in the land twice, and behave insolently with mighty arrongance" Right before your eyes According to the Bible, Moses led the children of Isreal to the promise land, when they got to the promise land, was it bare? Didn't they meet people there? |
