I battled for the non payment of aged elderly
military pensioners,
who were dying in their hundreds, I was beaten

the military, locked up for thirty days, just to

If you are an avid YouTube user, then chances
are, you take advantage of at least a few of the
platform's convenient keyboard shortcuts, like the
""J", "K" and "L" trio. But what about your power-

resort to touch scrolling on the often tiny and
fiddly timeline every time? Well, it appears
someone over at YouTube finally got fed up with it
as well and now users on both Android and iOS
have been noticing a new double tap shortcut.
It is really straight-forward - open a video in full-
screen mode, double tap on the left side of the
screen and you go back 10 seconds and
identically doing it on the right side takes you
forward, just like the aforementioned "J" and "L".
The feature is part of the YouTube app and it
appears Google decided to mostly slip it though
the cracks, as there is no official announcement
yet.
It appears it is a staged roll-out. You just have to
get the latest version of the app available for your
device and region and see if it is included. If you
are on iOS, updating should also bring along the
convenient new lockscreen controls for casting
playback. Some problems with the skip feature
have already been reported. Many users claim
that it slows down the interface and the full-
screen toggle. Hopefully, these kicks get ironed
out, as it is a nice little feature to have.

brought the Blade A2 Plus to India. The device -
which packs in a massive 5,000mAh battery -
carries a price tag of INR 11,999 (around $180),

Twelve people were killed today after a commuter
bus plunged into the Odo-Oba River from Oyo/
Ogbomoso Road.
Details about the accident are sketchy, but a
source said the passenger bus, which was
travelling to Ilorin plunged into the river while
trying to avoid an articulated vehicle that strayed
into the path of the bus.

A gunman on Saturday stormed a house party in
Brazil and killed at least 11 people, himself included.
It was a gathering of New Year celebrations in the
southeastern Brazilian city of Campinas late on
Saturday.
Police in the state of São Paulo said the shooter is
believed to have been angry over a separation from
his former wife, who was among those killed. The
couple’s 8-year-old son also died.
About 15 people were shot and some are in critical
condition.

A serious midnight fire outbreak has razed open
stalls as well as locked stores at the Odopetu
Market in Akure, the Ondo State capital. The fire
started close to 2 a.m. on Thursday, destroying
foodstuff and other goods worth millions of naira,
according to estimates by forlorn traders.
A correspondent of SaharaReporters visited the
scene of the fire and reported that most of the
victims were residents of Akure metropolis. Some
of the affected traders at the burnt market disclosed
that they dealt in various kinds of foodstuff and
locally made goods.

An auxiliary nurse, identified only as Oyekanmi, has
been arrested by the police for her role in the death
of a baby she took delivery of in the Odogunyan,
Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Punch reported that the victim’s mother, Adeola,
had been taken to Oyekanmi’s residence last
Saturday when she went into labour.
Oyekanmi, while attempting to force the delivery,
was said to have pulled off the baby’s hand.
She was said to have advised that the child be taken
to the Ikorodu General Hospital, where the dead
child was finally delivered.
Doctors at the hospital were reported to have
queried the baby’s parents on what truly transpired,
and they opened up.
The hospital management then alerted the police to
the incident.
A source told Punch that Oyekanmi was picked up
by the police.
The source said, “What happened was that the
auxiliary nurse tried to deliver the woman of the
baby, during which there was a complication. But
she continued and in the end, the hand of the baby
was pulled off while she tried to force the child out
from the mother’s womb.
“Afterwards, they quickly packed the woman
together and brought her to the general hospital. It
had become a critical case by then. The remains of
the dead child were brought out, while the matter
was reported to the police.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo
Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that
investigations were ongoing.

A gang of robbers recently met their waterloo at
their hideout in their attempt to treat their injured
colleague in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer
(PPRO), SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the robbers, who
had been terrorising Alafara area of Ibadan were
arrested on November 7, by the Special Anti-
Robbery Squad (SARS).
The two suspects who were arrested alive were
Ibrahim, 32 and Taiwo, 27 (surnames withheld),
confessed to the crime.
Ajisebutu informed that “the robbery suspects who
had been terrorising the area and other parts of the
state, however, met their waterloo when they were
shot by the local vigilante in the area.
“Though the hoodlums escaped the scene, two
members of the gang- Ibrahim and Taiwo, were
subsequently arrested at their hideout by the SARS
of the command when they were arranging for a
local doctor to treat an injured member, identified as
Mofoof aka Murphy, who later died as a result of the
injuries sustained during the encounter.
