As per your complain, haven't used this inverter for anyOne long enough to play with it. Would suggest you first go through it's manual or settings to see if you could help yourself.

Yea i figured that may be it. I changed to Haisic 8Kwh and there’s sizable difference between inverter battery voltage reading and actual battery voltage reading. So when inverter says low battery at 24v, battery is still showing 72% or so and 26.5 degrees. I was told the battery connecting wires are not good enough so I’m changing that first.

I have been on just 2 590w monofacial jinko panels for long and I DONT CHARGE WITH GRID. More than 80% of my family cooking, refrigeration, ironing, 55w (6 bulbs) security lighting daily and MORE usage ARE ALL FROM SOLAR. And my battery has NEVER EVER gone less than 60% once.

If we dey insist on Lifepo4 for here, e get why. The key word is EFFECIENCY.

My roof is not the send down the rain type of roof you guys use for your buildings, and my panels are sw facing, more towards the west. Those 2 ginko panels dey fire steady.

I see lots of assumptions here, yet you didn’t suggest a possible cause/solution. It’s a LFP setup by the way and it’s run as efficiently as possible! I know the reason the battery goes off (one bad cell in the old battery setup) and I addressed that by changing to a new bigger 24V 8kw battery bank but as you read, why it doesn’t come back on till sunrise is the knot i’m trying to untie here.

We have a Welion 4.2Kw 24v inverter that doesn’t come backon when it goes off due to low battery at night till the sun comes out in the morning. Even if gen is turned on for example, it will not come back on till the sun comes back in the morning. I’m not sure if it’s a priority setting thing or something else in the setup.

Yes o. Running two in series for 24v and it’s holding up pretty good. Not a lot of information on the batteries for now but for the price point, I was willing to take a chance.

I’m happy to say my mum is now enjoying a 4.2kw solar inverter system with more than enough allowance for her daily needs. We went with the smaller 100A 12v LFP batteries for now due to budget constraints and it’s been working really well so far.

The 220AH of the tabular has 50% DoD which in real usage is 110AH or less.
The Lithium is still a better choice if the price as you said.

I might be wrong though. I am still saving cash to get Lithium battery.

Mmm!! True! I didn’t think of DoD! Dam5reey1 also reiterated this when I asked about using inverters to power water pumps on tubular batteries. Good callout.

Based on what I have seen about these batteries, it's a good choice, it can replace 1 unit of 220AH 12V Tubular batteries.
So, if you need a 24V you need 2 of it.

It is selling at similar price as 1 Tubular 220AH 12V, when compared you will get longer life span from the LFP batteries.

Thank you so much. Yes for price, it’s at 248k each. So it comes to almost same price as 2x tubular would have cost though downside is the capacity will remain 100AH rather than the 200AH+ tubular would have given…hence the delay i have… Taico said 3 years warranty on the battery too.

Looking at options for a reliable low maintenance solar solution for my mum’s place with a really limited budget.

Has anyone used these Taico 100AH LFP12-100 batteries as an alternative to the larger batteries if budget is an issue? They are just 1.28 KWh but being LifePo4, i’m thinking they may give better value for money comapred to Tubular for a 24v 4.2kva hybrid setup? Please advice…

u can get it repaired easily at alaba, idi-oro mushin or arena oshodi. as for recommendation of hybrid inverter, welion, sako,anern, growatts. for non hybrid go for TBB power

Your Solar Charge controller is a Cheap PWM type, they get so hot as they can barely handle what they are rated for. this 60A CC shouldn't handle more than 20 to 30A input as its elcheapo..
6, 180W Panel is pushing close to 60A to the Charge controller that's why it gets burnt.


Get an MPPT charge controller and change the Solar configuration to 3s2P. current will be reduced at input and you will be able to charge your batteries more efficiently.

In some controllers, you can exceed the maximum rated wattage with no damage to the controller, but the issue is that the excess panels are just there doing no job. Eg if the maximum rated by a 60A controller @ 12v is 720w and you have 1200w PV connected to it. At most what you'll get out of it is that 720w, the remaining 480w PV is just there outside doing no work.

Makes sense. So is your recommendation to trim down to 4x 180w panels? The main need is just to be able to run the small fridge and computers and fan during the day. Or the fridge to run on battery overnight while computers and fan runs during the day.

In his case with a 60A cc, the maximum PV wattage supported should be (12V * 60A) 720w. His installer fed the cc with (180 * 6) 1080w from the panels.

Is the cc a pwm or mppt?

It’s a pwm charge controller.

6×180 is 1080w which is beyond your charger controller. It shouldn't go beyond 700w or less.

please help. Someone installed this mppt charge controller for my mum and it has burnt twice at this same point (where wires from the solar panels connect to the charge controller).
Happened first time, he replaced it and it happened again. He was about collecting money from her to buy another one again but this time she reached out to me.

It’s a 12v 1kw inverter system with 6x 180w solar panels and 200ah battery. She uses it at her store for a small fridge, a desktop computer and fan.

Is this a problem with the power from the solar panels being too much? Or the charge controller is thrash?

Please help. Any insight appreciated.
