First you must be patient!
It is very unlikely that you will sit in Nigeria and find accomodation that you like in Birmingham!
The city is too big and complicated.
Second the religion issue is to inform you of the difficulty of trying to find somewhere so far away.

I have told you that people do not live in the city centre! you will need to travel at lease some distance on public transport.
You should book a hotel to come to and then look round as your requirements are not simple.

If you are too scared or proud to use busses then stay back at home!
na wa o,why did you use the word proud? you need to take easy on people here because am just here asking for opinion about the closest place to city center where someone can get better accommodation

worry359: A VERY important thing for people to think about when renting a room or property from afar is Religion!
In the U.K. many areas in big towns like Birmingham and Manchester have large populations of people with different beliefs.
For example it might be difficult for a staunch Christian person to find that they are living in a Muslim house.
Or a Muslim might find problems in a Hindu house. (These are just examples!)
This is just one reason why it is best to inspect the property in person.

am beginning to get worried bout this Birmingham thing because all these religious issue and again pls kindly advise me on where to get a studio flat that will be a walking distance to my school

Your school is just outsite the main city centre (10 minutes walk)
Below are some bus maps to help you see where you can look for accomodation.
Aston area is good for students but many are at another university.
Lots of cheaper housing on bus routes but most will only advertise locally.
You may need to book hotel while you look for somwhere suitable.
Many, many shops selling african and indian supplies nearby.

http://www.networkwestmidlands.com/nmsruntime/saveasdialog.aspx?lID=1734&sID=97
On this one your school in in square D7, you need to be looking at places outside the centre for accomodation.

BOsses all am looking for is a studio flat because my wife will be coming to join me there in October,

British people tend NOT to live in the city centre.
Also Birmingham is huge.

The GOOD NEWS is that there is a very good bus service along all of the main roads.
(Not Ocadas! grin) Proper busses tht have fixed routs!
Some areas are white folk, many are Indian, Pakistan (as black you should avoid these)
Some Muslim areas. Some afro-caribean areas (lots of drugs and naughty ladies!)

Tell us which University and college (part of uni.) then we might advise.
Am going to Birmingham city university and my campus is at curzon street at city centre with post code B4

Where it will ask you about your region

I believe there wont be any problem because CAS is a virtual document between UKVI and your college/university. If you have notified your school about spelling mistake and they have corrected it then UKVI will just use CAS Number to access your information online and match it with your paper application that you have submitted. Unless you have done same spelling mistake on your visa application and it mismatch your passport there might be an issue.

Just a brotherly advice, be careful with your information and double check when you are ready to submit to avoid future hassle.

@spikeC, correct me if i am wrong regarding CAS information. Regards

@spikeC i did not make any mistake on my application and everything is intact, the only mistake they made is the s after my name n the CAS and if you take a look at the CAS,there is a place where they left for sponsor note so the school typed it there that the student first name is david not davids

hahaha, abeg don't kill me with laugh grin

Ok, i don't know much places in Lagos but when i came, i used google map to find my way around. Also, ikoyi was very close to VI so it was easy for me.

Yes, they would allow you in.
I would advise you come as early as possible to enable you finish your biometrics and submission of documents before the oyinbo interview starts at that your appointment time.

Please help me, i just checked my CAS that was reissue and they made a mistake on my name by writing davids instead of david, i noticed this after application has been submitted and appointment booked for Wednesday in abuja.
I called the school to notify them about this and they have sent me another CAS with same CAS number noted on it that the student first name is david not davids but am very worried that the ECO might not check sponsor note because all this ECO dont always have patient when checking stuffs like that and there is no way to include this in additional info because i have already submitted before seeing it

Please advise me on what i can do to make sure the ECO notice it
