PoliticsEkiti Commissioner Of Police Redeployed Over Fayose’s Impeachment Drama by bamidell(op):
Taiwo Lakanu, the commissioner of police in Ekiti state,
has been redeployed after he reportedly connived with
thugs affiliated with Governor Ayodele Fayose to attack 19
state legislators who were on their way to the legislative
assembly to begin impeachment proceedings against the
governor.
Our police source disclosed that Mr. Lakanu personally
selected some rogue policemen led by one divisional police
officer (DPO) on Mr. Fayose’s payroll to carry out the
assignment of escorting the lawmakers to the state
legislature to commence the process of impeachment.
However, the state commissioner of police also made
covert plans with a controversial army officer in the state,
Brigadier-General Aliyu Momoh, to ambush the lawmakers
at an army checkpoint in the town of Itawure. Our sources
said that, as soon as the 19 lawmakers arrived at the army
checkpoint, General Momoh had them arrested and
detained. General Momoh was the officer implicated in a
scandal captured on an audiotape in which several PDP
officials, including then Minister of State Musiliu Obanikoro
and Minister of police Affairs Jelili Adesiyan, ordered the
officer to unleash troops on supporters of then Governor
Kayode Fayemi who was squaring off with Mr. Fayose in a
governorship election.
Shortly after General Momoh’s detention of the Ekiti
legislators, a group of thugs reportedly hired by Governor
Fayose arrived at the scene and began assaulting the
lawmakers. Our sources said the legislators managed to
scamper into their vehicles and flee to Osun State,
escaping what could have been a brutal attack by Mr.
Fayose’s thugs.
SaharaReporters learnt that the Inspector General of Police,
Suleiman Abba, this evening ordered Mr. Lakanu relieved of
his job after he investigated a petition detailing the
connivance of the state commissioner of police with
Governor Fayose.

Politics(abami Eda), Fela Anikulapo Kuti Is 74 If Alive by bamidell(op): 3:32pm On Oct 15, 2014
Exactly 74yrs ago, on the 16th of october 1938, this great singer was born
If he were still alive, he would have been celebrating his 74th birthday today....the abami eda, human rights activist.,musician, mentor, brother, father, friend and the list goes on. But what were the accolades that made this incredible legend stand out is his selfless attitude towards the african state. He fought emphatically on the issue of neo colonialism by the west on african state, fought for civil rights in the african state, Declared war on governments who promoted corruption in their cabinet, fought those whom abused civil rights and the list goes on and on..Although during the time of these movements he went through hell incarcerated, humiliated, imprisoned, you can name the worst it happened to him. ignoring all this he stood his ground even till his last breathe for the justification of true governance and civil rights for the African state. A true legend in reality.
As we celebrate this icon all over the world, the Nigerian state shouldn't forget his prophecies and assertion even decades after is death the problems he long speculated still lingers, bad governance, corruption, neo colonialism, religious bigotry, human rights violation etc. All these are still problems battling the Nigerian state, problems that administration after administrations are yet to tackle. Society fails when words that are meant to be said lingers in the heart. Felas ideology shouldn't go to waste has our national anthem would say.
" The labor of our heroes past shall never
be in vain"
We should all rise as fela said ' AFRICA ARISE' it is our call our own devotion we owe it to ourselves for the betterment of our future has Africans. Has brothers and sisters, has one family bound by love of our rich culture and communal faith. It is your call my call our call.
Has we all celebrate in the spirit of felabration we shouldn't forget of that legendary legend FELA and what he stood for.

Wow... You are quiet a great thinker.... Its just the irony of life... They wouldn't realize what they have done until they actually see it to the end... I've been in this state for some years now and what I've notice is that ekiti people are never satisfy with things and covetous.... They want everything in state to be done by the government up to the very level of giving them daily meal... Stomach infrastructure.... I fear for the future of the state

Its unprecedented, outrageous and unconstitutional, the governor elect of ekiti state suspends the more than two weeks curfew without the knowledge, consent and authority of the incumbent governor, doc fayemi, ... I keep asking myself this rhetorical question.... Are we practising a democratic system of government or an autocratic democracy... If its a realistic political ideology ... Its actually a slap on the people of ekiti, a slap on the governor and on the integrity of Nigeria as a country....

PoliticsCHIBOK Girls Released by bamidell(op): 2:03pm On Sep 23, 2014
Four Chibok girls released

Four out of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted
from Government Girls’ Secondary School,
Chibok, Borno State, have been released by the
Boko Haram.
The Chairman, Chibok Local government Council,
Mr. Bana Lawan, said on Wednesday that the
girls fell ill and were released by their captors.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Lawan
gave the information in Abuja at a one-day
stakeholders’ meeting for validation of draft
humanitarian response plan for the abducted
girls.
The meeting was organised by the National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
He said the girls were released on Tuesday to
bring the number of those that had regained
their freedom to 57.
Lawan commended Nigerians for showing
concern and support for Chibok people, saying
the support had restored the hope and
aspiration of the people for the return of peace
to the community.
He also praised the Federal Government’s
prompt intervention through the provision of
relief items for the people.
He urged the government to resuscitate the
facilities destroyed by the insurgents and
improve security in the affected school to boost
the morale of the students.
Lawan explained that boys were encouraged to
attend GGSS in Chibok because of the lack of
education facilities in the area and appealed for
the construction of boys’ hostels in the school.
He said the construction of the hostels would
reduce the hardship faced by the students, who
attended school from afar.

EducationCat Mysteriously Turns To A Little Boy In Lagos by bamidell(op): 11:16pm On Sep 10, 2014
Although, this might sound like some Nollywood flicks, but some residents of Church Street, Makoko, Lagos, and its environs, maintain that a cat allegedly turned to a woman, before changing to a small boy on Thursday, September 4th, 2014.

According to residents of the area, two cats had been disturbing the neigbourhood for a while, and on that fateful day, some youths in the area attempted to kill the cats and end their disturbance once and for all.In the course of pursuing the cats, one of them ran away while the other escaped into a Celestial Church. Its pursuers promptly entered the church in hot chase, but were jolted when they saw that the cat had turned to an old woman, with her legs still having furs on it.

In shock and fear, the youths ran out to call more people, but before they got back, the old woman had again turned to a young boy.

Though some of the outraged youths attempted to lynch the child, he was later taken away from the church premises to the Baale’s residence, from where he was released to police officers from the Panti Police Station, Yaba, Lagos.

When E24-7 MAGAZINE visited Panti, an officer informed our correspondent that the boy had been handed over to the producers of a TV show that reports strange, and weird occurrences. However, some residents who spoke with E24-7 MAGAZINE questioned the decision of the police to hand over the boy to the show’s producers instead of thoroughly investigating the case.

It should be recalled that a bird had allegedly turned to an old woman and was stuck in a roadside drain in Lagos earlier in the year.

Do you actually believe stuff like this?
