Don't mind them. They don't understand that the bolded here is the point.

WE DIDN'T GROW. WE RATHER REGRESSED.

What we are after is growth. Positive evolution of the team. And it can come only under the right tactical head/mind. Not under some Wyscout-swinging/Portuguese-speaking worse version of Rohr.

We did not grow go and watch where SE was before he came and what he achieved during his time.. anyway, if things doesn’t change, I see SE reaching another 2016 height

After five years, we did not grow an inch under Rohr. We did not build a solid team. We were never a convincing side. If that is how you want us to play for the next 20 - 30 years, you are free to enjoy that.

Even under Keshi where I was still critical, we could meet France and give them a game. France resorted to injuring Ambrose and Onazi to have an edge. We played the Catalonia team and matched them. We lost to Spain but we gave them a match. We played Italy and left them by two goals in the first half. They had to bring in Pirlo to reclaim the midfield.

We ripped Mali by 4 goals at the AFCON. It was not all good but were were a good side. All of a sudden, you guys want us to park bus and grind football.

I wonder why I even bother. People want us to play Rohr way.
The same coach that flogged cameroun, Algeria, Zambia beat Argentina, Poland, draw Brazil.. when you play superior team and understand your deficiencies by playing defensive style, it’s smart… oya now, you have players like Aribo, Moses Simon and you want to go toe to toe with Bruno fernandes. It looks like Nigeria football is going back to dead

Now I see why Rohr usually played a defensive anti football against big teams. That’s what peseiro should had done instead he decided to go toe v toe vs a team that’s more technically gifted than us

Again, he is not disrespecting and has never disrespected the team. Victor showed up against small Sao Tome e principe while Okocha and martins back then were picking games vs Gabon. Lol

Victor always gives 110% for Nigeria. Always. He puts himself in harm's way even just to make Nigerians happy whenever in the GWG. One of such times got him seriously injured and affected his first season at Napoli.

And at bolded... You really have to stop bringing this stale line up. It makes you seem lazy and lame always referring to that to make your points valid. That you keep mentioning it almost everytime is testament to the hidden truth that "e dey pain you" and you really want yours. grin Proof that it really doesn't bother you is that you won't keep mentioning it again and again.

And finally, Victor is the verge of Greatness with Napoli. He is leading their Title Charge. Don't act like it won't matter to Nigerians to see Victor actually succeed in Italy before he leaves.

You complain about Nigerians not yet at the level we once where in the Golden Generation but here is Victor having the kind of season that would get Nigeria a Ballon D'or nomination by the end of the 22/23 season and you are telling me it won't matter to Nigerian football??

Guy, you need to relax and forget about that Land you lost in that Ghana game alright.

It's time to let go. grin
Your brain is so Corrupted by gifted Jersey and Money from super eagles player that you don’t understand that, it’s DISRESPECTFUL to his teammates, team and country by not honoring Friendlies. Can you imagine every big super eagles player doing similar thing. I never said that it won’t matter to Nigeria if he wins Golden boy or balon D’or. Please stop LYING on my name

And here we go again... @bolded

He is already downplaying Victor's Serie A goals count so far.

Something the lad did in 11 starts and despite missing 5 weeks of action due to injury.

Do you see your problem? You are quick to downplay the same lad you want to come and play every game.

Same lad who always give his all on the pitch compared to every other Super Eagle.

Rest abeg. You have started the subtle downplay.
Not downplaying it but calling a spade a spade. He hasn’t achieved half of what Mane has achieved and he is DISRESPECTING the team by not honoring Friendlies an attitude that MANE or SALAH rarely act. Tell me what will happen when he wins Seria or even 1 award… unlike you, i don’t care about receiving Jerseys or Money from players. I am as neutral as possible

While it makes sense to be disappointed at Victor's absence from the friendly, it also isn't out of place that most Nigerians have decided to cut him some slack.

No one can dispute that Victor is by far one of the most dedicated player the Super Eagles have. He's one person Nigerians know will give 110% anytime he puts on the green and white. Little wonder his "injury" haven been treated with same outrage as other might have.

Additionally, while we may not be privy to the inner workings of what obtains in Naples, it is clear to everyone that Napoli isn't one of the easiest place for a player to ply his trade. The President of Napoli have as much as confirmed that in the press. It only makes sense that Victor will try as much as possible to thread carefully, as this is also likely his last season.
The same Napoli will drop him like a Hot pocket if he loses Form but Nigeria wouldn’t I.e present super eagles captain. As a leader or the number 1 player on your team, you must ensure to voice the importance of team loyalty and unity. You’re setting a bad precedence to other players by disrespectfully ignoring friendly invitations. By next game, other SE big players might decide to stop honoring Friendlies. Anytime I wish a nigerian Striker break Yekini record mercilessly, they will decide to start a non Chalant attitude forgetting that one isn’t going to be Hot forever. Obafemi martins attitude is still fresh in my head

I wish super eagles players can emulate their passionate Senegalese counterparts. Those Senegalese are literally and figuratively prepared to Honor/die for their badge. To be fair, their Federation might have set a precedence for good management. A player like Mane that has an Epl, champions league, calling cup, Epl top scorer, 100 goals in Epl, 2nd and 3rd place balon d’or, 2 times African footballer of the year award rarely Ever Miss “Friendly matches” for his country because he understands that, he is a leader that’s setting a precedence to his teammates and someone wants to justify a player with 9 Seria A goals disregarding his national team invitations..

And remember, Okocha and Martins back then were actually picking competitive games. Not just friendlies.

But unlike them back then, Victor has hardly missed a competitive game for Nigeria be it home or away.

And if Napoli feels he is too important to be released for mere friendlies but won't hold him back from competitive games, then I don't think that's a bad idea.

Let's face it. He is Napoli's number 1 Talisman and he and that club are on the verge of history this season. It would mean the world to Osimhen to achieve such with Napoli.

On the other hand, he is also Nigeria's Biggest Player yet he is always available when it matters (Minus the Afcon incident which isn't his fault at all).

Osimhen is out for greatness in the Sport and there are sacrifices that must be made and if one of such sacrifices is not going head to head with ADL on being available for friendlies but only for competitive games then for now, so be it.

I reckon this might be Osimhen's last season at Napoli. So such may not continue elsewhere.

ADL is the issue here. Not Victor.
1) Okocha and Kanu were WRONG if they didn’t honor friendly invitations 2) I don’t care whether he is Napoli number 1 striker, when Messi or salah that has won multiple trophies for their country Rarely missed friendly games when Fit, WTF is osimehn that hasn’t won 1 trophy to be pulling such. Wrong is wrong and you know it but you’re blinded by “Jersey and Money” favortism…. He should continue disregarding friendly games

Remember when Victor Osimhen came out boldly and said this.... Don't play "forgetful"

This is a guy that was available for our 2 Afcon Qualifiers this year.

That he misses two inconsequential friendlies now makes him disloyal?? Come on!
First of all, friendly matches aren’t inconsequential because most coaches uses friendly match to assimilate their possible future 11. 2nd of all, if every big super eagles player like Ndidi, iwobi, Bassey collectively decide to not honor a friendly match invitation, what precedence are they setting? 3, how come Bigger world class African superstars like Mane, salah rarely ever turn down friendly match invitations?? I understand that you’re privy to knowing Osimehn personally and he regularly dish you his signed Jersey. But, let’s call a spade a spade because this precedent that he is setting is disloyal, Dangerous and setting a bad example.. Mane or salah will never try this nonsense with LIverpool or Bayern and Osimehn hasn’t even won a Trophy yet in his Senior Career

The match is inconsequential for us and Osimhen is on a title charge with Napoli. That is important.

If he has a knock no matter how very minor, then he can be excused. No need dragging him to an inconsequential game. Let Moffi and the others have more chances to play.

When Qualifiers come back on next year and he is fit, he will be available.
This is my issue with you is that you will always condone any disloyal or bad attitude from Osimehn because you’re probably an agent. Is osimehn a bigger player than Messi, Salah, Mane? Those guys rarely missed friendly games even when their club side were contesting for the most valuable trophies. Presently, Mane is injured but he was still included in Senegal 26 man squad and he is honoring that invitation. The so called Napoli that osimehn is aligning his loyalty will drop him like a hot pocket if he loses form. Let’s call a spade a spade osimehn attitude towards Friendly games is Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and he feels like he is undroppable and indispensable but he must remember History. I remember obafemi martins pulling similar stunts in the past and those stunt affected his SE records.. Sometimes, I wish SE players can emulate those Senegalese or even Egyptians

Academic guru.

I want to believe you understand comparison analysis.

That means by COMPARISON.

Look at level of unhinged euphoric praise singing that other players get in comparison to Ademola Lookman.

Ademola Lookman is a essentially a winger and is third in the goal scoring charts of Seria A ,that's absolutely astounding.

Your shameless in your double standard duplicity .

My assertion is very simple Ademola doesn't get anywhere near the same recognition and praise singing given to the favourites here.

If V.O. breaks wind you will sing a song of praise.
One thing I don’t comprehend here is that, why are some people upset that another member is adulating a super eagles player? If it upset you, counter it by hyping your own SE player rather than complain. No one is stopping any member here from hyping a SE player

Ajax's Coach, Alfred Schreuder has come out to say he will continue with the CB Pairing of Jurien Timber and Calvin Bassey.

So expect to see more of Bassey at CB in the Super Eagles going forward.

I know Bassey has his flaw at CB but time will tell as he matures in the role. LB remains his alternate role for now.

So yeah, right now, he remains our best CB in Europe based on a good catalogue of performances or specifically, he is our best LCB.

To avoid issues of position confusion, let him be allowed to develop in a main position. At Ajax, it is CB so, for now, so be it.
Agreed without argument. Although, it speaks volume of the quality of CB that our team currently has at its disposal

Because he is versatile makes many here insinuate that he isn’t worth been mentioned as a midfield option in the super eagles just to make room for their over hyped favorites cheesy

Only aribo’s versatility is a huge asset to any team he plays for. He can be play as a lb/wb,dm,cm,am and rw. Players with such gift are highly valued in today’s football because they can as well be called up to fit into positions where the team is losing a regular in those position due to injury or suspension

Etebo was the star man in our last qualifiers. He is going no where. Alhassan is average. Onyedika still finding his feet. We are good to go. Happy Ebeuhi is back. I was expecting either Success or Okereke to make the list. No wahala, we good.
The battle for the 2nd striking position is between Awoniyi, Iheanacho and Onachu. Oshimen and Moffi are safe.
