Allow me prove to you that in your lifetime, you can be proud of this country.Let me make you this promise today:We will protect your children. We will protect your wealth. We will make this country work again.

The presidential candidate of the All
Progressives’ Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari (rtd), on Tuesday gained an unusual
support as the main agitating militant group in
the Niger Delta, the Movement for the
Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND),
pledged its total support for the former military
ruler.
MEND, in a lengthy press statement circulated
through email by its spokesperson, Jomo
Gbomo, anchored its decision on the need to
deliver Nigeria, especially the Niger Delta region,
from the crunching effects of corruption.
It also lamented the unconcerned attitude of the
President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration at
the unrelenting degradation of the Niger Delta
environment, taking a hard stance on the
increasing level of oil theft in the region.
President Jonathan, according to MEND, does
not deserve a second more in the Presidency.
The group also commended Buhari for
proposing to scrap the office of the First Lady,
which it considered to be a drain on the nation’s
resources and a conduit through which corrupt
government officials stole across all levels of
government.
It said, “The Movement for the Emancipation of
the Niger Delta (MEND) has, upon careful
consideration of the state of the nation,
endorses and fully supports the presidential
candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC),
Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.
“Our decision to throw our full support on Gen.
Mohammadu Buhari stems from the pathetic
state in which the country has been put by the
government of Goodluck Jonathan and our
strong believe in Buhari as the man and change
the country needs.
“President Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve
a second more in the Presidency as soon as his
tenure expires as he has continuously and
blatantly disregarded the very people who voted
him into office.
“A President that told Nigerian to their faces that
he does not ‘give a damn’ when asked to declare
his assets. A requirement that is constitutional
on assuming the office of the President.
“President Jonathan, since assuming his office,
has setup countless committees, whose reports
have never been implemented. From the Nuhu
Ribadu report to the KPMG and fuel subsidy
reports, just to mention a few.
“How can Nigerians expect a highly corrupt
person like Goodluck Jonathan to fight
corruption when he believes that stealing is not
corruption, as he shamelessly told the Nation?
“He has proven beyond all reasonable doubt, his
inability to tackle corruption or prosecute a
single government official in his six years in
office.
“MEND finds it laughable the recent statement
by Goodluck Jonathan on his government’s plan
to fight corruption. This statement not only
smacks of ignorance of the highest order, but
also shows just how stupid he thinks Nigerians
are. A president that had six years to tackle the
problem but chose to shield corrupt government
officials, joined in the looting of our resources
and now has the temerity to say his government
has a plan to fight corruption. This is a big slap in
the face of every single Nigerian!
“We re-state our disregard and lack of
confidence in President Goodluck Jonathan.
Rather than address the perennial issues in the
country responsible for his administrations
failures, he is concentrating government funds in
a campaign of misinformation intended to
hoodwink Nigerians who, unfortunately for him,
are now wiser and smarter than he is.
“Goodluck Jonathan’s actions, utterances and
arrogance prove that he is totally disconnected
with the situation facing the ordinary Nigerian
and completely out of touch with reality.”

Jonathan not fighting corruption – Justice Mustapha Akanbi, Fmr chairman ICPC

“I have said this long time ago, there is no drive against corruption by the current government and that is quite obvious because the President believes that there is no corruption in Nigeria. He believes that what is going on is petty stealing. So, if he doesn’t believe there is corruption, you can’t hold him for not driving any anti- corruption war. If somebody doesn’t believe there is a problem then he would not be obliged to look for solution.”

We must realize that this responsibility to change the status quo in Nigeria today is beyond the capacity and capability of any one man; the fight will require the collective will of the people for it to be successful. The same forces that have resisted this change before are still very much around and they are more powerful than ever before

“No one is ignorant of all that is happening to us in this country. No one likes hunger and poverty; but people are hungry. In 2015, only those who love to continue to be hungry would prefer that the government in power at the centre remains there. By God’s grace, we would remove them from the seat of power. The people there presently cannot do anything, because they don’t know how to.”

Second term for GEJ/PDP means more of:

Immigration Job Scam

Police Pension Scam

Fuel Subsidy scandal

NNPC missing funds

More strikes (ASUU,ASUP,Health etc)

Expanding recurrent budget over Capital.

Inflated Security Budgets

Illegal Arm/money smuggling outings

Protecting Boko Haram/ Militants Sponsors.

death of over 15,000 Nigerians

Nigerians as refugees in their own country

Insecurity and corruption everywhere.
And many more
The only people who fear the Buhari Presidency are those who do not want change; they are those who want to continue with business as usual; they are those who want to continue to profit from the level of corruption in the society. We will have no apologies for people like that. Change has come. It is time for change and Nigeria will change for the best. Vote APC for a better tomorrow

A People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative aspirant, Ms Aisha Osori, has dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after emerging winner on the PDP platform.

Osori made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the APC national secretariat.

NAN recalls that Osori emerged winner at the just concluded AMAC/Bwari federal constituency primary in the Federal Capital Territory.

Osori, who was presented with the membership card of the APC, told newsmen she decided to carpet-cross after watching the APC primary because she believed in Osibanjo, who was her lecturer at one time.

“I decided to denounce membership after watching the APC conduct its presidential primary in a fair and competitive manner and after seeing the combination of Osibanjo and Buhari, both men of integrity.

“Osibanjo used to teach me at the University of Lagos, faculty of law, I believe that is a great combination that would move the country forward and I want to be part of that team,” she said.

According to her, the APC slogan ‘Change’ is enough reason to support the party as she was sure of winning the on the platform of APC.

Osori noted that more than 70 per cent of Nigerians were youths who wanted the change that “APC represents”.

On what her contribution would be to ensure the success of the APC at the general elections, Osori, who is the CEO of the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund, cited experience.

“The years of experience I garnered in the private sector as a lawyer and also as writer, first with Thisday and later with Leadership newspapers will be of value to APC.

Reacting to the defection, the APC National Secretary, Mai-Mala Buni, who presented the membership card to Osori, expressed delight because his party was waxing stronger by the day.

“Such event will be a continuous thing. Our doors are open. Everybody, who is ready to join the party, is welcome anytime, any day,” he said.

A group of yam farmers cutting across some
northern states in the country have pledged to
support the All Progressives Congress (APC)
presidential candidate, Gen. Mohammadu
Buhari’s campaign in the 2015 general elections
with N5 billion.

The group disclosed this in a statement made
available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in
Jos on Tuesday.

Rev. Jacob Musa, Public Relations Officer (PRO)
of the farmers under the name “Buhari-Osinbajo
Presidential Appeal Campaign Fund (BOPCAF),
said that farmers from 10 states of the
federation were planning the fund raiser.
Musa said members drawn from Taraba,
Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Kogi,
Kwara, Niger and Kaduna states as well as the
Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, would
feature at the occasion.

He said that Prof. Emmanuel Garba, who lost the
governorship primary of the APC in Plateau, was
a founding father of the group.
“We have contributed five million tubers of yam
to be donated in support of the funding of
Buhari’s presidential campaign.

“The five million tubers of yam will be retailed at
a special price of N1,000 each towards raising
the sum of N5 billion in support of the APC
candidate,’’ it said.

The statement said that the public presentation
of the five million tubers of yam would hold at
the Mararaban Demshin village yam market in
Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau
on Jan. 4, 2015.

It stated that the ceremony would also witness
traditional wrestling involving 500 traditional
wrestlers from the 19 northern states and the
FCT.

“The aim is to mobilise the wrestlers in the
campaign against poverty, crime, killings,
kidnappings, armed robbery, cattle rustling,
rape, cultism, election rigging, looting of public
fund, smuggling, terrorism and other social vices
now prevalent in the society,’’ it said.

The statement also said that the event would be
heralded by a world press conference in Jos,
sponsored by Imo Gov. Rochas Okorocha.
It added that the event would be attended by
Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers in his capacity as
the Director-General of the Buhari-Osinbajo
Campaign Organisation on Jan. 2, 2014.
