We have a fantastic number 9. The best in the world by a mile, and we need to make him as fruitful as possible, just as he is now. Not to make him less potent just to satisfy Messi's goal scoring tally. Hence, I prefer it the way it is now. My opinion though.

Yes Mascherano is a makeshift CB, but we have won 2 Champions League with him there, with one of them a treble. If Mascherano were to be averagely tall, do you think much would have been said about him not being a proper CB?

As for me I want the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Its very obvious that whoever wins the champions league is regarded as the most successful. Even if we win the league and madrid wins the champions league I would never be happy. Seriously without the champions league this season, I wont call it progress. I really subscribe to this. Messi winning wouldn't in any way make his detractors see in a better light than before, they would always wanna play the world cup card. Plus, Messi winning or not winning wouldn't add or subtract an iota of greatness in his already illustrious career.
