David Silva masterclass control against barca midfield while his fellow co-midfielders were rubbish was still the best I've ever seen.
There's now way Iniesta can ever do that against worldclass midfield without Xavi and co..

DeGea was woeful today. First he was dispossessed when he received a back pass. Second, in my opinion, he could have done something about the equalizing goal. Third which is the worst, he left a wide space in his near post to concede a late goal. He appeared to have single handedly set up a big crash between Spain and Italy.

It's a shame that David Silva had to operate as a winger for either City due to Pellegrin obsession with 2 forwards tactic or for Spain due to that Snail, Fabregas.
For me, he's still the best Spanish midfielder after Xavi. I could still recall his worldclass performance against Barca in the CL where he was the best player on the pitch, outshining the likes of Messi, Iniesta and co in the process while his co City midfielders (Yaya & Fernandinho) were utter dross in that match. It was a pity that Dzeko missed the countless of chances he created. And yes, he played in the centre in that match.
People kept shouting Iniesta praise due to his performance against a woeful Czech team but what did he do today? No doubt he's a fantastic player but he's never a player that controls the midfield which brings me back to Barca's CL final against Juve. Pirlo at that age simply outclassed him in the midfield but the moment Xavi came on, there was major change seen in Barca midfield.
