homesteady: I remember during Enrique 1st season, after our game against Real Sociedad, there was a serious civil war among Barcelona fans on the Internet, almost everyone wanted him to be gone! Then our next match was against Atletico Madrid, no one expected us to win, but we destroyed them to shreds! God bless that day! And our season ended as a fairytale!
Something similar is happening, but of a lesser magnitude and our next match is against Real Madrid! Should we expect another magic?
Well, I doubt so, because as someone rightly said Enrique has run out of ideas! If we can't win a Real Madrid without Bale and kroos, then Mannn, I dunno what to say! Good ! Why don't u guys think about this before always jumping to criticize d manager at every given opportunity? The end justifies the means by d way, we couldn't beat a real madrid without cr7 in 2014 |

Debroslink: You all should take a chill. The last time we won at the Anoeta, we ended trophyless.
Guardiola, Villanova and Martino NEVER won at the Anoeta, and no one called for their heads.
9 years at Anoeta, no win... YET, we've won 2 trebles including 3 UCL trophies in the same period. Winning trophies is the main the main.
No one has the right to call for the head of a coach who's won 7 major titles in 2 seasons just because of a match @ Anoeta as if we lost
The talking point now is how to get maximum points in the El Clasico this weekend. Debroslink: If Chelsea vs Barcelona of 2009 was played around November, I'm sure you will be here crying 'Guardiola out' because Chelsea outplayed us in every department.
Likewise when Chelsea beat us 4-2, and outplayed us in stats, you will be among those crying 'Rijkaard out'.
Even when Deportivo had a 19 year unbeaten against Real madrid, no one called for the head of any Madrid coach at that time.
A coach is judged by the trophies won at the end of the season. If Enrique wins the double or treble this season, no one will remember Anoeta nonsense.
I agree Enrique and the team are not playing well enough, but the results so far are not as bad as you people paint it. We lost to Sevilla and Sociedad away last season, but won the doubles. This season, we've got 4 points from a possible 6 in those locations.
The end of the season will judge. philfearon: Sometimes i come to this thread, and i don't recognize it anymore...especially anytime we lose! Some people actually think it's Barca's birthright to always be the better team all the time , as if the opposition is there to hail you! Johnpaul88: This thread and marca.com, I don't know which one sucks more every time Barcelona drops a point.
Bykebyke go and get empolyed with marca so you have perfect platform to troll Enrique. Dont mind d enrique out choir, as if we won @ d anoeta during d 2 seasons we won treble. Maybe its lucho who is actually playing d ball. Pep didn't win there too...hell, Pep couldn't beat Chelsea either home or away in his 4 meetings against dem as barca manager (couldn't even beat dem in normal tym @ bayern), yet he z still a legend. Enrique didn't get it right immediately in his first season, but got it right eventually. The end justifies d means, if @ d end of d season, we fail to win anything, den id understand, but i guess d likes of bykebyke nd trendlona expects a new manager to com in with a magic wand and do abracadabra. D hypocritical thing abt fans like dem is dat if we eventually hav a good season in d end, dey ll say its because of messi's genius or msn's brilliance nd not Enrique. In d event we dnt even win anything @ d end of d season, i don't think it will make Luis Enrique any less of a great manager, given what he has won already ; afterall La liga, which we've won 7 times out of 10, UCL which we've won thrice since 2009, and d copa del rey which we've won 4 times since 2009, aren't meant only for fc barcelona Good riddance |

Chelseafan1: See the useless players wey u dey mention, are these ones in the quality of Neymar, Bale, Suarez, Hazard, Cr7,..modric
Besides na only Wenger dey do mumu like that, with his mumuism sef, he can't sell Sanchez to City or Chelsea ryt now, ds are the kinda players I am talking about, not the Mikels, the Adebayors, the Nasri who are deemed surplus.
Rvp case is understandable, person wey don spend almost a decade for Arsenal, no league, u think if he had won it once or twice, he wud be pressured to move? he needs to win at least 1 league title b4 he hangs his boot, he knew he couldn't get that in Arsenal, Baba was even reluctant to sell, Mou deemed Mata surplus, that was why he sold the guy.... All ure giving is excuses So now mata is useless jst cos mou sold him to man u? Are oscar, willan and fabregas better dan him? All players i listed were quality and important players to their clubs before being sold to a direct title winning rival. Barca and rMaDrid are even bigger clubs who will find it even easier to poach d players if dey were in d epl, i even read of a recent victor moses interview where he stated dat his childhood dream was to play for barca ( thats how dey start ) Uve still not answered, In your own opinion, which teams can win d epl? |

Chelseafan1: Don't faint yet, Leicester was a championship team 3 seasons ago like these ones u listed, they won the EPL comfortably last season.
Maybe na English dey worry the both of us, but to me, challenger and contender are two different terms.
They are all into it to challenge for it, contenders are those who can actually win it. Atletico also won la liga 3 seasons ago i really want to knw d contenders, frm ur own POV, and ur criterias |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by BarcaBlood: 10:06pm On Nov 26, 2016 |
Chelseafan1: By my own understanding, coming into the new season, every team has a motive, they all try to win the league, the teams are not of the same quality, since Alaves cannot spend like Barca would, it will only take miracle for them to beat all odds and win the league, but trust me, all the 20 teams are ready to challenge for the title while I think Title contenders are those who have better chances and the wherewithal to win the league, they can fight, they can spend, they will try.....we have a lot of contenders in the EPL, they mostly have almost equal spending power and rich squad unlike in the LaLiga where you have just two strong teams with superb spending power and quality players.
Sevilla, ATM, Valencia that u think are contenders can never drag a quality player with Barca/Madrid except if they would lose their star players to these 2 teams (Isco and Rakitic) comes to mind
Chelsea on the other hand can drag Pogba with Man Utd, MAN city, Arsenal, MAN UTD can drag Hazard with Chelsea, Chelsea, City, MAN UTD can all pay to sign a star player like Neymar, Bale, can ATM do the same? Who are these challengers? D ones dat can actually win d epl |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by BarcaBlood: 11:53am On Nov 26, 2016 |
Chelseafan1: What you need to understand is that, Barca and Madrid are the two best teams with quality players (world stars) that no other team comes close, especially in the LaLiga, look at the number of games Barca has lost this season and they are still sitting second comfortably, Sevilla and these other teams don't have the quality and strength of these two powerhouse, they can only cause upsets once in a while and That's all, Barca or Madrid and at times, Atletico will definitely still win the league. Barca has a very rich squad Plus MSN, Madrid has a very rich squad Plus BBC, these other teams just have few quality players.
Let's talk about the EPL, the star players aren't concentrated in just City and Chelsea, there was a time when Chelsea players were regarded as average players, Hazard is our best player, better than any of our wingers but most of us would even argue Neymar is way better than him, thats just Neymar o, we haven't included Messi, Suarez, Pique, Iniesta, Mascherano, Busquets etc
Man Utd and City spent almost the same amount this last transfer window, yet city is doing well, MAN UTD is failing, do Sevilla, Sociedad, Atm, Valencia have the same spending power of Barca and Madrid?
All these EPL top teams have almost equal spending power, talk about Spurs, Pool, Arsenal, City, MAN UTD, Chelsea, these guys have star players scattered all over hence the competitive nature of the league, none of them is a stand out performer just like Barca/Madrid is to the LaLiga, Bayern is to the BLiga or Juventus is the Serie A abi u don forget the number of parties wey hold for our thread last season, see parties wey dey hold for Man Utd thread now, see parties for Arsenal thread.
I dunno if you understand me well enough, but trust me, there will always be upsets once in a while, eg Alaves beating Barca, Liezpig beating Bayern but its not always easy for Chelsea/City winning the league....the struggle is always real. You will find Spurs flogging City anyhow, Chelsea will disgrace the same Spurs but city will seriously deal with Chelsea, the same Arsenal that will flog Man city home and away will become toothless against a struggling Man utd/Chelsea, Chelsea will defeat Man Utd for example by a lone goal, but the same Everton that gets pummeled by Man Utd will get 3 unreplied goals against Chelsea, these are just examples of the crazy things that happen in the league, that's why we celebrate winning games and the league like we won the UCL and WC together
If you happen to be a punter, the odds these bookmakers give Barca, Madrid, Bayern is always very low just because these teams have a high probabilty of winning their games and they do it comfortably except for the once-in-a-while upsets.
I wont say there are 6 title contenders in the EPL but Barca/Madrid are the 'ogas at the top' in laliga, they are way above the others, there is no stand out 'oga at the top in the EPL', its a different ball game here. It was recently Man city became a top team when the Saudi guy took over, maybe when one of these arab guys take over Sevilla or atm and can match the spending power of Barca/Madrid....the story will change.
This is my submission sir. How would define a title challenging team in any league? Is it a team that just makes d top 4 at d end of d season? Or a team that occupies the top 4 position for most weeks, irrespective of d position dey finish @ d end of d season? Or is it a team that can buy expensive players, whether or not dey win d league with dem? Or would you define them as a team that can do all these (or some) and actually WIN THE LEAGUE @ least once in say maybe 2-4 years? Cos i honestly dont consider Arsenal (last league win 2003), Everton (last league win ____ ), Tottenham (last league win ____ ), Liverpool (last league win 1990) as title contenders just because they're in fine form at a certain stage of d season, wen we know dat there z a very good chance dey wont win it eventually, and den to make it worse, EPL fans dat considers dem title favourites dont apply d same logic to other teams dat do d same or are in fine forms @ certain stages in other top leagues. That is unfair and hypocritical |

The unknown La Liga rule that would have disqualified Malaga during their game against Barcelona
Malaga walked away from theCamp Nou with one point after drawing with Barcelona.
But Juande Ramous’ team was just five minutes away from forfeiting the game to Barcelona for fielding lesser ‘professional’ players.
According to Diario Sur,there’s a La Liga rule that states that a match-day squadmust contain at least seven professional players.A professional player is one named among the 25-man team submitted to the league, and has a professional contract with the club
Malaga started the game with 8 professional players and 2 non-professionals (reserve players)- Pablo Fornals and Javier Ontiveros. The series of events being with Malaga’s first red card of the game that was shown to Diego Llorente. After the red card, Ontiveros was taken off and replaced by another non-professional; Luis Munoz
At this time, Malaga had 2 nonprofessionals and 8 professional players on the field. Malaga boss decided to make a change and brought in Sandro (nonprofessional) toreplace Youssef En-Nesyri (professional) in the 81st minute. With the ratio of professional to non-professional at 7:3, if Juankar had been shown a red card now, it would have taken it to 6:3
But luckily for Juande Ramos, two minutes before Juankar was given his marching orders, Pablo Fornals had been taken off and replaced with Duda who is a professional player. |

He might just prove the doubters wrong and shut us up.
He's not 22 though, he'll soon be 25.
