Politics / Propaganda, Lies Against Buhari Absurd – Osinbajo by Barondenigeria: 6:57am On Feb 21, 2019
Yemi Adeleye

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has described as absurd, the lies, propaganda and accusations against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo said on Wednesday night while responding to questions at an Interactive Session and Engagement held at Muson Centre, Lagos on Wednesday night.

The interactive session tagged: “Unveiling The Truth”, organised by young Christian group, had some Christian leaders in attendance.

Participants used the occasion to ask plenty of questions bothering on insecurity, economy, blaming of past administrations, social welfare for the unemployed, corruption, and timing of TraderMoni.

Other questions bothered on Next Level slogan, farmer/herders crisis, lopsided federal appointments, Islamisation, Buhari’s commitment to address critical issues in the country among others.

Responding, Osinbajo said that President Buhari was committed to addressing the problems facing the country such as security, economic and fixing critical infrastructure and fair treatment of all sections.

He said Buhari was addressing farmer/herders crises and had no intention at all to Islamise the country.

“President Muhammadu is possibly one of the most committed people I have ever met. He is committed to seeing that resources of this country are used for this country.

“In general term, we find that there is fairness in the distribution of appointments. Many of the accusations against Buhari are not true.

“Sometimes, people listen to propaganda and if we look at the facts, things are totally different. On Islamisation, first of all, it is untrue, it is propaganda.

“Anybody who complains that President Buhari is propagating islamic agenda, how is that possible?

“A lot of these are just propaganda, never listen to these. Many of these are absurd, they are deliberate propaganda. They come from the same source. Don’t believe them. Let’s be fair,” Osinbajo said.

The vice president, who urged Nigerians not to fear or doubt the good intention of the President, advised Nigerians to stop spreading rumours about things that never happened.

Osinbajo noted that the major cause of farmer/herder crisis remained pasture and water which the government had made concerted efforts to address.

On the lopsided federal appointments, Osinbajo said that the Southeast with five states had five had five ministers more than some regions with higher number of states.

On TraderMoni, he said that the national assembly approved the money for it and that it was meant to lift many Nigerians out of poverty.

On the timing of implementation, Osinbajo said that the government Social Investment Programme kicked off after the budgetary allocation was passed by the National Assembly.

According to him, the party never promised N5,000 monthly stipends for the unemployed but for the vulnerable which is ongoing.

He said the government had engaged so many youths in its N-Power programme and had to increase the number to 1.5 million young Nigerian in the Next Level out of 1.7 million people churn out of tertiary institutions every year.

On the standard of tertiary education, Osinbajo said that the major issue affecting education was not so much with the curriculum, advocating private sector thinking, ideas to enhance public education.

He added that the government would continue to create enabling environment and provide funding.

On criminality, the vice president said that the way forward was local policing and intelligence as well as immediate arrest and prosecution of criminals in the country.

On security, he said that the country had made significant progress and moved forward from what the situation was before the 2015 general elections.

The vice president said that the APC Next Level slogan centred on job creation, power, making credit more available to entrepreneurs, agriculture, infrastructure and others.

The vice president urged Christian leaders to jettison thinking about any Islamic agenda and Islamisation, saying many Christians were in the cabinet of President Buhari.

He said that the media should desist from spreading rumours, decrying fake news about Buhari being another person from Sudan.

Addressing the question accusation that the present administration often blamed previous administration, Osinbajo said that the country could not move forward without considering the past.

According to him, corruption remains the bane of national growth and development, saying that most of the woes confronting people are caused by wastefulness of past governments.

The highlight of the interaction were high praise led by choir and power-packed prayer for the country and general elections led by Bishop Wale Oke...

Politics / We Will Limit Our Output, Drive Up Oil Prices- Buhari Promises OPEC by Barondenigeria: 10:13pm On Feb 20, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday pledged the cooperation of Nigeria to the effort to reduce oil output in order to attract higher prices in the global market.

Buhari made the promise during a meeting with Mr Ahmad Qattan, Minister of State for African Affairs and Special Envoy of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of Saudi Arabia, at the State House, Abuja.

President Buhari said as a responsible member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Nigeria is willing to go along with the Saudi initiative in limiting output so that prices would go up.

The President said output cuts had always been difficult for Nigeria considering the country’s peculiar circumstances of large population, huge expanse of land and state of under-development, adding, “I wish we can produce more.”

However, he said: “I have listened carefully to the message. I will speak with the Minister of State for Petroleum. I will call for the latest production figures. I know that it is in our interest to listen. We will cooperate.”

President Buhari explained that higher oil prices will make both nations stronger and their citizens more prosperous.

He commended King Salman for his leadership in global oil matters, assuring that Nigeria will continue to accord respect to the Kingdom in that regard.

The Special Envoy said he had brought special greetings from King Salman and the Crown Prince, and expressed their best wishes for Nigeria as the country goes into general elections.

Mr Qattan said the important reason for which King Salman sent him was to make a request to President Buhari to ensure Nigeria’s compliance with quotas assigned in January by exiting previous exemption from output cuts.

He said his country had reduced its own output by 1.4 million barrels per day to ensure that prices went up, stressing however, that Saudi Arabia alone cannot bring stability to the oil market and shore up prices..

Politics / Just In- DSS Denies Tapping Phones , Slams CUPP For Fake News by Barondenigeria: 9:58pm On Feb 20, 2019
Joseph Edeh

The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied tapping the telephone lines of Nigerians and dismissed as fake news the allegation by Coalition of Political Parties, CUPP, a political group allied to the PDP.

In a statement Wednesday, Mr Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, denied that the organisation engages in wire-tapping.

Afunanya said the DSS is committed to its professional ideals and would not engage in unethical conduct.

He said the DSS has been criticised by unpatriotic citizens who fed the public with fake news and hate speeches against it.

The spokesman said that the social media had been awash with wrong information regarding the operations of the DSS that were misunderstood and misrepresented.

“It is obvious that some merchants of violence are determined to use their platforms to misinform the public for their selfish and political ends,” he said.

He warned mischief makers against misleading the public, adding that the law would catch up with them.

“The DSS is a responsible organisation and thus professionally adheres to the ideals of intelligence and security governance expected of it in a democracy,” he said

Afunanya urged the public to disregard the claims of the political group.

He said that the DSS should be left out of politics to maintain its usual transparency and neutrality in the discharge of its mandate.

The spokesman enjoined carriers of fake news and social media manipulators to always think of Nigeria.(NAN)

Politics / PDP Planning To Rig Saturday’s Poll- Oshiomole Insists by Barondenigeria: 11:52pm On Feb 19, 2019
Emmanuel Mogbede

Mr Adams Oshiomhole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not ready to win elections through legitimate votes, but through illegally procured votes and thuggery.

He stated this on Tuesday in Abuja at a news conference while reacting to a critical statement made by Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential Candidate on President Muhammadu Buhari’s riot act to thugs and ballot box snatchers.

President Buhari at the APC expanded National Caucus meeting on Monday, warned that any politician that sponsored thugs or ballot box snatchers, would be dealt with by security operatives.

The President said that security operatives have been instructed to deal with such persons.

Oshiomhole said no responsible candidate or individual should find fault in the President’s directive, adding that it is only candidates who rely on thuggery that would fault it.

“Atiku has called on the President to retract his instruction to security agencies regarding violence, ballot box thieves, and other electoral malpractices.

“The question is how such instruction disturbs anyone that is truly interested in free, fair and credible elections,” Oshiomhole said and described PDP and Atiku’s reactions as shameful.

Oshiomhole said the APC was not surprised because PDP has marshalled plans to get to power by all means possible.

The APC national chairman said that the option of one man one vote is not on PDP’s table.

He said Atiku by his statement has admitted that he is not popular by recently claiming that he had two geopolitical zones while the APC has four other geopolitical zones.

Oshiomhole stressed that Atiku and the PDP should prepare for the shock of their lives on the election day.

“The South South and South East are not oblivious of the unprecedented developmental achievements recorded in the zones under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration,”he said.

This contrasts with PDP’s wasted years in government.

He maintained that the good people of the South-South, South-East and all the geopolitical zones would speak through their legitimate votes, not the procured ballots planned by the PDP.

Oshiomhole noted that in the aftermath of the configured card readers recently recovered from PDP agents in some states, its presidential candidate, Atiku, had gone to town with face-saving conspiracies that the APC had imported slow-working card readers from China.

He said Atiku claimed that the card readers would be deployed to the South-South and South-East which Atiku considers his stronghold.

Oshiomhole wondered how Atiku got to know where the card readers were made, if he does not have informants in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He debunked allegations by Atiku that the APC planned to shut down communication network on election days.

Oshiomhole said it was illogical that a party that was in a contest with clear superior numerical support would shut down communication on election day, as this would not only affect the PDP.

He recalled that the APC had earlier reported the PDP’s plot before last Saturday’s postponed elections by the INEC national chairman.

“The recent arrest of several armed PDP political thugs and recovery of INEC card readers and arms from PDP agents in some states point directly to the PDP’s plan as revealed by the security reports,” Oshiomhole said.

PDP’s illegal plot requires improved surveillance by security agencies, particularly the Department of State Services (DSS), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and allied agencies, Oshiomhole suggested.

He urged the agencies to check illicit financial flows and movement in the PDP camp in the run-up to the general elections....

Politics / Gen. Abdusalami Is Working For PDP- The Nation Alleges by Barondenigeria: 8:06am On Feb 19, 2019
The Nation Newspaper has alleged that security agencies have discovered some plan by opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to deploy $3million (N1.8billion) to each state to induce voters.

In its report, the newspaper, owened by a senior APC chieftain claimed that the party has also co-opted former members of staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recruit loyal ad hoc staff for the elections.

Also, a member of the National Peace Committee, a body headed by former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, has also discovered to be in the work plan of PDP.

The Nation reported that the cash was remitted before last Saturday’s postponement elections.

It also claimed that most state chapters were finding it difficult to change the dollars to naira because of the surveillance on Bureau De Change operators by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS).

Also, the agencies have intercepted alleged compromise of some officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), policemen and other security agents in some states.

The intelligence report, including the alleged implication of a former top official of INEC, may be presented to the chairman of the electoral commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, by the security agencies.

Peter Okolie

The leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Worldwide, has urged Igbo youths not to be demoralised by the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly Election.

The National President of Ohaneze Ndigbo’s Youth Wing, Mr Arthur Obiorah, made the appeal while addressing newsmen in Awka, on Monday.

Obiorah urged them to rather view the development as one of God’s divine plans for a better future for the country.

“As Christians, let us believe God is preparing us for better things, a better level in the near future of our dear country.

“I know it is not easy, but I want them to know it is a sacrifice we must all make to get the country working again,” he said.

He charged the youths to remain resolute and prepare to cast their votes overwhelmingly on Feb. 23 and March 9.

Obiorah, however, said the body had not changed its position of voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr Peter Obi.

“The Ohaneze Ndigbo Ime-Obi has issued a statement to state where the Igbo belong; in restructuring we believe and in Atiku/Obi presidential ticket we believe because of their promise.

“The youth wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo is keeping to the rules of Ime-Obi Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, to support the joint ticket of Atiku/Obi presidential slot in the interest of the Igbos.’’ (NAN)

Politics / Elections: Please Pray For Ngeria, Osinbajo Urges Christians by Barondenigeria: 2:35pm On Feb 15, 2019
As Nigerians look forward to the 2019 general elections starting on Saturday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has called on Christians to remain steadfast telling them that, “their prayers will make the difference for Nigeria”.

The Vice President stated Thursday in Jos on Thursday at a one-day special prayer forum for a peaceful 2019 elections in Plateau and Nigeria in general.

It was organized by the Plateau State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

“The devil cannot interfere in the plans and purposes of God in our lives or in the life of our nation, it is impossible.

There is no way the gates of hell can ever prevail against the church because the church represents God’s plans and purposes on earth.”

Osinbajo added that the role of the church in the development of any society is for Christians to support their members in leadership positions through prayers and fasting.

“The role of the church in order to bring about the plans and purposes of God to pass in our nation is to fast and pray for those that are in government. God’s plans and purposes for this nation rest on the shoulders of the Children of God.

“It is your prayers that will make the difference for our nation. I want to say to you again that please continue to pray and to fast for those of us who are in government because we are there as the seeds that God has planted in this nation.

“We are the salt, we may not be plenty but salt does not have to be a lot to make a difference.”

The Vice President, who admonished Christians to look inward for solutions to the problems of the nation, said: “If we look elsewhere we will make a very big mistake.”

“We are the ones that can individually solve the problems of Nigeria and we must not look elsewhere. If we do the right thing, we will get the right result and if we do what is not right we will not get the right result,” the Vice President declared.

On his part, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State said the Vice President’s visit in the state, for prayers, a few days to the elections, was a sign of a peaceful outcome.

He thanked God for sparing the life of the Vice President from the helicopter crash in Kogi State recently.

Rev Fr Polycarp Lubo, Plateau CAN Secretary said that the desire of the body was to have peaceful, free, fair and credible.

He appreciated Osinbajo for honouring the invitation and prayed God to be with him during and after the elections.

The programme featured special prayers for the political leadership in Nigeria and for peaceful elections. There were also praise and worship sessions, amongst others at the well-attended prayer forum.(NAN)

Politics / Elections- No Matter Our Political Differences, We Are Of One Family- Tinubu by Barondenigeria: 9:03am On Feb 15, 2019
Lucy Osuizigbo/Lagos

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, said on Thursday in Lagos that the APC would send the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, into retirement on Saturday for the good of Nigeria.

”This election is more than a contest between two men, President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, for that one exalted chair”, Tinubu said in a statement by his Media Officer, Mr Tunde Rahman

”Look, I have made no attempts to hide my friendship with Atiku. We are friends before this election and hopefully we will be friends after Feb. 16 when he goes into retirement.

”For the good of Nigeria and even the good of Atiku himself, we will do well to send him into retirement on Saturday.

”Perhaps, we should also send Obi into retirement along with his boss come Feb. 16. Perhaps together they might manage to discover the place where they might learn compassion for the common man,” he said.

Tinubu said there was not much good that could be found in the policies and programmes announced by the PDP.

“Atiku’s answers to our economic challenges are to shrink and restrain government from being the active catalyst toward a diversified economy that assured broadly-shared prosperity through the just allocation of wealth and reward according to sweat and toil put forth by the Nigerian people.

“They seek an unfair, unjust and unequal Nigeria. Their definition of Nigeria is a nation run by the greedy, for the profit of the rich, at the command of the mighty,” he said.

Tinubu said that the objective of the APC was to remake Nigeria into a great nation.

“Our vision is the opposite of theirs, Unlike the PDP, we, the APC, are anchored to the proposition that every Nigerian is entitled to equal access and sufficient economic opportunity so that he may use his talents, skills and committed exertion to carve for himself and his loved ones the decent and good life every human being seeks.

“The ordinary person is not to be shortchanged of the fair dividends of his honest sweat and diligent labour simply because he may be poor or because the powerful and wealthy want more.

“Because of the APC’s concerns for the struggles of the average person, we launched beneficial social welfare programmes such as the school feeding programme, Trader-Moni and N-Power.

“As such, we have made progress caring for our most needy and vulnerable through these and other innovative and unprecedented policies. These programmes are of the type all great nations do for their citizens,” he said.

Tinubu said that the APC was not satisfied by what had been accomplished, saying that what had been done was but the opening phase of a more ambitious undertaking.

“We have just begun to fight poverty and reform this economy on the scale required. Though we have helped millions, several millions more are needed to end poverty’s stranglehold on their lives.

“We must expand the scope and reach of our social welfare programmes to encompass those other people who have been denied access to the productive economy through no fault of their own.

“Additionally, we must put idle hands to work to build a modern infrastructure that will energise agricultural output in rural areas and foster labour-intensive industrialisation in our growing cities, ” he said.

The former governor of Lagos State said that the second term of President Buhari would be dedicated to changing the structure of the economy for the better.

“We must amend our national economic architecture to unlock the full potentials of our people and our land. To me, this is the core mandate of government for and of the people.

“Throughout the campaign, we have talked about taking Nigeria to the Next Level. To me, this Next Level is informed by forging a new partnership between government and the governed to create a more just and prosperous economy for all.

“The beginning of this new partnership is already taking shape. As stated before, we have initiated a first phase of social welfare programmes,” he said.

Tinubu urged the people of South West to join APC in implementing the Next Level agenda.

“The South West has always been at the vanguard of progressive governance in Nigeria. Today should be no exception to this historic role we have played.

“I ask the people of the South West to join the APC so that we attain the Next Level by implementing this bold and good new partnership built on the following pillars: power, infrastructure, housing, industrialisation, agriculture and social security,” he said.

Tinubu said that the coming elections were a choice between progress and retreat.

“The future is uncertain until we enter it. Feb. 16 is Election Day and on that day Nigeria shall step into its future.

“How you vote on that day will determine whether we walk into the future in a manner that guides our subsequent steps toward the national greatness that calls to us or will we walk into it backwards as if feebly trying to reinvent the past.

“One road leads to a certain replay of the economic injustices of the past. It is a road well-worn with familiar pitfalls and setbacks built into the very nature of it.

“The other road provides the truest, brightest chance for us to enter into our hopeful future but only if we are brave enough to believe in our capacity to improve our nation,” he said.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to vote for President Buhari for a secured future.

“This is the future we must enter. This is the future the APC champions. This is future you must choose on Election Day. Vote for yourselves by voting for President Buhari,” he said.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the elections to ensure a violence-free exercise.

“In the exercise of our civic duty at this historic and important moment, I ask that you conduct yourselves with utmost tolerance and in equal peace towards both political ally and political opponent.

“Let us show the world that we know the true meaning of democracy. On Election Day let not an angry hand be raised against any Nigerian.

“No matter our political differences, let us remember we are of one land and of the same national family...

Politics / Run From Politicians, DG Warns Corps Members by Barondenigeria: 8:56am On Feb 14, 2019
Abbas Bamalli

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, has warned corps members to stay away from politicians and transparent and neutral, during and after the elections.

Kazaure who was represented by a Director in the scheme, Hajiya Fadima Mohammed, gave the warning at a sensitisation workshop organised for corps members on Wednesday in Kano.

He said the warning became necessary so that members of the corps would not be induced with money by the politicians.

The director-general charged them to be transparent and neutral before, during and after the elections.

He gave assurance that their welfare had been adequately factored into the welfare and security arrangement for administering the elections.

He further called on the corps members to take all the security tips they were taught seriously during the elections.

Kazaure said that the general elections would serve as an opportunity to consolidate and improve on the successes earlier recorded in our democracy.

“You are expected to handle this National assignment with a high sense of patriotism, responsibility and integrity as the INEC ad-hoc staff,“he said.

In his address, the NYSC Coordinator in Kano, Alhaji Ladan Baba, assured the corps members that the scheme , INEC and all the security agencies were doing everything possible to ensure their safety and welfare.

He enjoined them to shun any form of character that would go against the Electoral laws.

Also speaking, the INEC Resident Commissioner in Kano, Prof. Riskuwa Arab-Shehu, said the commission`s major priority was the safety of the corps members.

He was represented by the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Alhaji Garba Lawal.

He called on the ad-hoc staff, especially the Presiding officers, to take full charge of the polling units and should not allow anyone make a decision for them except the INEC officials.

Arab-Shehu said the commission had provided the corps members with accommodation very close to the collation centres across all the wards in the state.

“We have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU with the Kano Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to provide vehicles to convey election materials and officials to all wards,“he said.

He said the commission would ensure that the welfare of ad hoc staff and their allowances were paid immediately after the elections. (NAN)

Romance / Origins Of Valentine’s Day: A Satanic And Diabolic Festival In February by Barondenigeria: 3:19am On Feb 14, 2019
Tope Ajuwon

Every February 14, across the world, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint, and where did these traditions come from?

Origins of Valentine’s Day: A Satanic And Diabolic Festival in February:

While some believe that Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial–which probably occurred around A.D. 270–others claim that the Christian church may have decided to place St. Valentine’s feast day in the middle of February in an effort to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. Celebrated at the ides of February, or February 15, Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would gather at a sacred cave where the infants Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were believed to have been cared for by a she-wolf or lupa. The priests would sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification. They would then strip the goat’s hide into strips, dip them into the sacrificial blood and take to the streets, gently slapping both women and crop fields with the goat hide. Far from being fearful, Roman women welcomed the touch of the hides because it was believed to make them more fertile in the coming year. Later in the day, according to legend, all the young women in the city would place their names in a big urn. The city’s bachelors would each choose a name and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage.
Valentine’s Day: A Day of Romance

Lupercalia survived the initial rise of Christianity, but was outlawed—as it was deemed “un-Christian”–at the end of the 5th century, when Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St. Valentine’s Day. It was not until much later, however, that the day became definitively associated with love. During the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance.

Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages, though written Valentine’s didn’t begin to appear until after 1400. The oldest known valentine still in existence today was a poem written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt. (The greeting is now part of the manuscript collection of the British Library in London, England.) Several years later, it is believed that King Henry V hired a writer named John Lydgate to compose a valentine note to Catherine of Valois.

In Nigeria today, Valentine's day has not only become famous as a day of expressing affection, but the ancient Catholic holiday is now notorious for immoral activities and sexual escapades especially among youths and teenagers.

With iniquitous tales of sexual immorality, like rape, to even abortion; it is advisable that young people caution themselves on this infamous day.

Politics / JUST IN: Sacked SGF Babachir Lawal Gets N50m Bail by Barondenigeria: 11:57am On Feb 13, 2019
Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal bail.

Lawal’s bail comes 24 hours after he was remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Recall that just Yesterday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned Mr Lawal before a Federal High court in Abuja over his use of a company said to be owned by him to remove what he had described as ‘invasive grass” at the cost of over N272 million.(NAN)

Lawal had pleaded not guilty to the 10 count charges the EFCC pressed against him, bordering on alleged conspiracy and fraudulent acquisition of property.

But the court, on Wednesday, granted both Lawal and two other bails in the sums of N50m each with one surety each who must possess titles to lands within the jurisdiction of the court, show evidence of payment of tax for the past three years and must be residents within the jurisdiction of the court.

The court also held that the former SFG and the two others must deposit their international passport with the court pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.

The court adjourned the case till March 18, 2019 after adding that Both Mr. Lawal and the two others must remain in EFCC’s custody until they fulfill their bail conditions.

hmmm
Please stop this, that's not the right way to vote.
The best way to vote is to use the tip of the finger instead of the face, because there are now a lot more political parties hence the ballot paper is longer and the corresponding boxes smaller.

Please use the tip of the finger so as not to render your vote void, because using the face of the finger can spill the ink into 2 or even more boxes!
Politics / You Can Vote With Any Finger...but- INEC by Barondenigeria: 7:40am On Feb 13, 2019
On finger sensitivity of the ballpt paper ahead Saturday's presidential elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission has said that voters can make use of any of the 10 fingers in casting their votes.

In a tweet via its official handle, INEC said:

"A voter can use any finger to vote but should ensure that his or her mark is clear and placed inside the box of the political party of his or her choice and does not stray into another box".

The ballot paper is not finger sensitive, the commission reiterated.
