Senator Bukola Saraki has officially expressed his desire to be nominated Nigeria’s Senate President. Saraki, a former Kwara State Governor, revealed his interest in the position on Thursday, April 23, 2015. https://streetgist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bukola-saraki-tweet-streetgist.png The contest for leadership of the Senate is said to be between Saraki, former governor of Benue State and Senate Minority Leader, George Akume, and Barnabas Gemade, a former National Chairman of the PDP.
However, Saraki is being pegged as the strongest candidate due to the fact that both Akume and Gemade are from Benue State, which has occupied the position through current President, David Mark for the past eight years.
Mark is expected to vacate the position due to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) loss of majority in the upper house following the recently held general elections. source : http://streetgist.com/senator-bukola-saraki-hopes-to-become-senate-president-bukola-saraki/ |

A 32-year-old Lebanese man, Amin Khan, has been arrested and taken to court in the UAE, on charges of extortion after he threatened his girlfriend that he would publicize their sex tape if she refuses to marry him. https://streetgist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Sex-Tape-streetgist.jpg
The police also heard that Khan, a salesman, had also threatened to kill the lady and show her highly placed parents the video of them having sex if she did not marry him.
Prosecutors told the court that Khan was engaged to the 27-year-old woman for three years until she broke with him when she realised he was already married with children.
She informed the police shortly that after the break up, Khan began sending threatening text messages and made calls demanding her to marry him. Source : http://streetgist.com/marry-me-or-i-publicize-our-sex-tape-fiance-threatens-girlfriend/ |

Politics › Let No One Play God!” Kashamu Replies Tinubu by baseg25(op): 1:01pm On Apr 22, 2015 |
Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu has reacted to Bola Tinubu’s slam over his statement released a few days ago where he praised the achievements of the APC National Leader over his role in the recently-concluded general elections. https://streetgist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/tnubu-and-kashimu-streetgist.jpg In response to Kashamu’s adulation, Tinubu said he does not need praise-singing from someone who bought his election victory and is wanted in the United States for drug related offences.
An unhappy Kashamu released a statement to Tinubu’s response on Tuesday, April 21.
“My attention has been drawn to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reaction to the innocuous congratulatory messages that I sent to him and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“First, I must say that I doubt if the statement was approved by him. However, if it was, I must state that I am taken aback by the unwarranted attacks against me as if we were still campaigning. It is unbecoming of someone of his stature and calibre. It is high time politicians and leaders rose above petty issues and raise the bar in constitutional democracy. We should not just be democrats in words but also in deeds. We should play politics without bitterness.
It is on record that no Nigerian politician has taken former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the cleaners even as a sitting President like Asiwaju Tinubu did. Yet, Chief Obasanjo forgave him. As for me and Baba Obasanjo, he remains my father and leader, just as I am his son and follower. At no time did I abuse Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
As a true party man, I campaigned vigorously for my party and its candidates. Now, the elections are over, and as a true sportsman, I thought I should congratulate those who won. Short of any praise-singing, what I said in the congratulatory message that they chose to react to a week after it was published was that there was no way anyone can wish away the achievements of Asiwaju Tinubu in the nation’s political annals, particularly in Yoruba land.
Although I now belong to the opposition, your achievements transcend political divides and I am not ashamed to publicly acknowledge them. I salute your courage, commitment, doggedness, forthrightness and tenacity of purpose even in the face of daunting opposition and challenges. By your sheer wit and unwavering commitment to democratic ethos, true federalism and economic prosperity, you led the Alliance for Democracy (AD) from a one-party state to a regional party, and now a national party that is about to form the government at the centre.
How do these translate to praise-singing? Are they not facts of history that I merely adumbrated? He accused me of purchasing my election with money, the appropriate forum to prove that is the election petitions tribunal and not the pages of newspaper.
On the U.S case, I wish to state for the umpteenth time that the United States as the bastion of democracy and the Rule of Law would not lend itself to any form of abuse of the fundamental human rights of an innocent soul, especially one that has been arrested, tried and freed by its most trusted ally – the United Kingdom.
I am not running from any trial. All I have asked is for the relevant parties to follow due process – if they believe that I yet have a case to answer. I believe in the supremacy of the almighty Allah who frustrates the signs of liars and makes fools of diviners, who turns wise men back and makes their knowledge foolish. He is the ultimate decider of the fate of all mortals. When He says yes, no man can say no and when He says no, no man can say yes!
I stand with the almighty Allah Subhana Wa Tala. He is the protector of all humans. He is my refuge and shield. Let no one play God!” Source : http://streetgist.com/let-no-one-play-god-kashamu-replies-tinubu/ |

If this happen in Nigeria , i would have counted it as another thing entirely..A jealous man who could not come to terms that men stare at his wife decided to murder her. And he could spend the rest of his life in jail.
A 32-year-old Brazilian man, Milton Vieira Severiano, has been after surveillance cameras caught him bashing the head of his 29-year-old wife, Cicera Alves de Sena, into a concrete pavement more than 10 times before shooting her five times in the face, reports Daily Mail.
When he was nabbed by the police, Severiano confessed to the murder, claiming he was he was jealous of men looking at her.
The camera showed Severiano dragging his wife into the garden at their apartment in Rio de Janeiro, and then slammed her head onto the concrete 10 times and punched her 10 times in the face.
Afterwards, he left to go into the home, only to come back out with a gun and shoot his wife five times in the face.

A neighbour report:
“They had only been married four days when I heard a terrible argument coming from their apartment.
She belonged to a dance group called Jaula das Gostozuedas which I have been to see and am a big fan of.
He was yelling and accusing her of being a slut and a LovePeddler and screaming that she would be better off dead.
I knew something terrible was happening and then things went silent until I heard the gunshots.”
Severiano tried to escape in his neighbor’s car, but crashed the vehicle after police gave him a hot chase.
Severiano could now spend the rest of his life in jail for the brutal murder. source : http://streetgist.com/man-murders-wife-because-he-did-not-like-men-staring-at-her/ |

A man who has been parading himself a senior army officer in the Amaja community in Igbo-Eze North local government area, Enugu State, causing havoc and terrorising the people as well as raping young girls in the area, has been arrested by the state police command. https://streetgist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Fake-Army-Officer-streetgist.jpg Identified as Felix James, the fake army officer was said to be playing on the ignorance of the people and their fear of the military to intimidate them and walking about freely as a genuine army officer until he was nabbed by detectives from the Nsukka Command who had been trailing him for a long time.
The fake officer, in his confession to the police after his arrest, said he had tried several times to be enlisted in the Nigerian army without success, adding that he procured the uniform and camouflages through the help of one of his friends.
Hear him:
"My friend Reggan Igbonekwu whose father was a retired soldier gave me the army uniform to wear to convince my parents that I had successfully joined the Nigerian Army.
I came back in November 2014 with the army uniform and since then till now, I have never worn the uniform again.
I paid Reggan a total sum of N80, 000 for the army uniforms he supplied to me."
The suspect added that he was a cosmetics seller at Kogi State before he decided to join the army and failed, explaining that he left secondary school in 2012 and took the army recruitment exams for two consecutive times without success.
"Everybody in the community knew that I went for the army recruitment but they don’t know that I was not successful. I am a married man with one issue and my wife even thinks I am an army officer." source : http://streetgist.com/fake-army-officer-arrested-for-rape/ |

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/free-wifi-techcribng.jpg Wi-Fi (or WiFi) is a local area wireless technology that allows an electronic device to participate in computer networking using 2.4 GHz UHF and 5 GHz SHF ISM radio bands. https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Wi-Fi-network-techcribng.jpg Many devices can use Wi-Fi, e.g. personal computers, video-game consoles, smartphones, digital cameras, tablet computers and digital audio players. These can connect to a network resource such as the Internet via a wireless network access point. Such an access point (or hotspot) has a range of about 20 meters (66 feet) indoors and a greater range outdoors. Hotspot coverage can comprise an area as small as a single room with walls that block radio waves, or as large as many square kilometres achieved by using multiple overlapping access points. When you pay by the megabyte for data through your cell service provider, the free Wi-Fi offered at your local Starbucks or McDonalds provides a real value. Yet, there are inherent dangers in connecting to a public Wi-Fi network, particularly if you intend on taking care of personal banking, connecting to social media, or shopping online. Here’s what you need to know before you join a free, public Wi-Fi network.
Andrea Eldridge , a CEO of Nerds On Call, which offers onsite computer and laptop repair service for homeowners and small businesses said recently read an article written by a hacker who was able to plop himself down inside a cafe and within minutes, he had accessed the personal data of every person in the place who was connected to the public Wi-Fi. Yikes! How did he do it? By creating his own fake network and intercepting the connection the users had to the public Wi-Fi, and then spying on the data sent to and from their devices. He had some fancy equipment, which assured me that this practice isn’t very common, but the ease with which it was possible still gave me the shivers.
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/free-wifi-2-techcribng.jpg The only way you can be 100 percent sure you won’t be hacked on a public Wi-Fi is to never connect to one. But for most of us, that’s not realistic. There are some ways you can minimize your risk.
1. Make sure your device doesn’t automatically connect to any available Wi-Fi network. Check your device’s Wi-Fi settings to disable auto-connect, or enable the “Ask to Join” option on your iOS device. You want to choose the network you’re connecting to manually, and check with an employee to confirm the Wi-Fi network name and the password before connecting to it. One sneaky trick that hackers like to do is go to a popular public place – like Starbucks – and set up their own Wi-Fi network with a deceiving name, like “Starbucks_Free.” If they can get unsuspecting users to log on to their network instead of the legit one, they can capture every bit of data sent and received over their network.
This is particularly common in a popular public place where the Wi-Fi network requires a password or fee to join. Those that find they can’t easily connect to the legit network will hop onto the hacker’s network without even wondering why there are two options to choose from.
2. You’ll want to disable file sharing. When connecting a laptop or tablet, select “public network” if prompted to describe a new network. There’s a higher encryption associated with this setting. To manually disable file sharing, Windows users can go to “File and printer sharing” under Control Panel > Windows Firewall. If you’re using a Mac, open System Preferences and navigate to the Sharing icon to un-tick file sharing.
3. Enable your system’s internal firewall. Windows users should go to Control Panel and then System and Security. Select Windows Firewall and choose “Turn Windows Firewall on or off” from the list of options on the left. Mac users can turn on their firewall via System Preferences. Choose Security and then Firewall to activate. This won’t keep out a skilled hacker, but it can deter a casual snooper.
4. When you’re done using the network, prompt your system to “forget” it. It makes you safer from future fishing expeditions.
While I wouldn’t recommend that you log on to your personal bank account on public Wi-Fi, if you must make sure you connect through a website that contains the prefix https://. This denotes an encrypted connection, which makes it more difficult for someone who gets a hold of your data to decode it into usable material. Casually surfing websites without the “https” isn’t a big deal; just make sure to look for it before entering a password, like those for checking email or Facebook. If you have to enter a password, you’d be better off waiting for a time when you’re able to connect through a trusted network.
For frequent travelers or anyone who has to login to public Wi-Fi regularly, consider utilizing a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to encrypt your data on public Wi-Fi networks. Wi-Fi Protector has a relatively simple interface and will alert you if it detects someone trying to access your system over the network (they call it “hacking alerts”). There is a free version that limits your use to 1 hour per day, but if you travel frequently consider shelling out the $59/year for the full product.
For mobile devices, frequent users of public Wi-Fi should consider installing Hotspot Shield VPN, which costs $29.95/year for the “Elite” version. It encrypts data sent to and from your device, blocks your IP address, and foreign travellers rave that it lets you access sites that may otherwise be blocked or censored in the country you’re visiting.
5. protect yourself from future hacks. Set up two-factor authentication wherever possible. Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Apple and most financial institutions offer it, though you may have to activate it. Once enabled, any time an unrecognized computer is used to login to your account the site will text or email you a code that you’ll need to enter before your account can be accessed. If an unauthorized party tries to break into your account, you’ll have a heads up.
Make sure you’re using the latest version of browser and a fully updated Operating System. One thing that Internet cafe hacker I mentioned was able to see was the operating system of every person in the Internet cafe. Older operating systems can have security flaws that make them easier to crack. Just don’t install your software package updates over public Wi-Fi: do it at home over your more secure Internet connection. Source : http://techcribng.com/beware-of-public-wifi/ |

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/smartboy-feature-techcribng.jpg More than 600 million smartphone and tablet owners use their devices to play games. In the United States alone, an estimated 99 percent of boys and 94 percent of girls play video games with 97 percent playing at least one hour per day. The revenue from the video game industry topped $25 billion dollars in 2010 alone (compared to Hollywood’s box office sales of $10.8 billion for the U.S. and Canada) and video games have become an important part of popular culture. https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Romeo-Vitelli-techcribng.jpg According to what is published by Romeo Vitelli Ph.D on psychology today ,The Dutch researchers suggest that not only do the newer video games provide young people with compelling social, cognitive, and emotional experiences, they also can potentially boost mental health and well-being.
The Game Boy is an 8-bit handheld video game device developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was released in Japan on April 21, 1989, in North America on July 31, 1989, and in Europe on September 28, 1990. The Nintendo brand has been very popular since it first released the Game Boy in 1989. When the Game Boy Advance Micro (GBA Micro) was released in 2005, it was considered to be one of the world’s leading portable gaming consoles. Although there are other brands of portable consoles now available, the GBA Micro is still a highly respected gaming console for avid gamers
So developers in Los Angeles have designed a case that adds the iconic directional arrows, plus the A and B buttons, from the Nintendo Game Boy to an iPhone.
The case is called Smart Boy, the attachment also lets gamers play their existing Game Boy and Game Boy Color games cartridges on their Apple handset..
The Smart Boy was originally announced earlier this week as an apparent April Fools’ joke, but is now set to become a real thing due to the strong response to its reveal.
“A lot of you were speculating that the Smart Boy is an April Fools’ Joke. Well, it sort of was,” Hyperkin wrote on its Facebook page. “We ‘leaked’ it with the initial intent of testing the market, seeing whether or not it should be something we’d actually make, under the guise of an April Fools’ Joke. According to a press release, Hyperkin’s product developer Chris Gallizzi said: ‘We wanted to create a retro device that can be easily adapted into any modern gamer’s arsenal of devices.’ He continued that the Smart Boy will come in the classic ’80s grey’, with more colours to follow. https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/hyperkin-smartboy-techcribng.jpg https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/smart-boy-2-techcribng.jpg
How its works
At the moment the Smart Boy is ‘in early conceptual development stages’ and is only being designed to work with the iPhone 6 Plus, in the first instance. Plug your iPhone 6 Plus (and, in the future, other smartphones) into the Smart Boy and it’ll allow you to play Game Boy and Game Boy Colors cartridges. The Smart Boy is equipped with the standard Game Boy set of buttons, while the phone’s screen is used to display the game. The Smart Boy has a built-in battery that can be charged by the phone; with a 6 Plus, gameplay is said to last for five hours source : http://techcribng.com/turn-your-phone-into-a-game-boy/ |
