Fruits and vegetables are universally promoted as healthy. Certain fruits and vegetables are rich sources of vitamin C, but these rich sources (citrus fruits, strawberries, green peppers, white potatoes) are spread over many fruit and vegetable categories. Other fruits and vegetables, including avocado, corn, potatoes, and dried beans, are rich in starch, whereas sweet potatoes are mostly sucrose, not starch.
Meanwhile, A strange art installation in the Westfield shopping centre in west London, England by artist Caleb Charland was essentially a large-scale reproduction of an old classroom science experiment where a potato is used to charge a small digital clock. It is amazing that you can now charge your phone with apples and potatoes.
By stringing 800 pieces of fruit and vegetables together with galvanized nails and wire, artist Caleb Charland was able to scale-up the power output so much that it could charge a mobile phone – in this case a Nokia Lumia 930, charged via a wireless mat.
The hand-built circuit created an electrical current of an average 20mA and around six volts.

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/charge-your-phone-with-apple.jpg

The utter simplicity of this electrical phenomenon has endlessly fascinated me. Many people have had the experience of drawing power from fruit in the classroom, and it never ceases to inspire the imagination of all aged, said Charland
2014 has been a great year when it come to charging of cell phone without electricity , honestly speaking this is th most amazing off it all.
“I have never worked with anything on this scale before, and it was a challenge. By creating this large organic charger to power a Lumia 930 device, this work speaks to a common curiosity we all have for how the world works, as well as a global concern for the future of Earth’s energy sources.”

The project was a publicity stunt paid for by Microsoft, which has recently bought handset maker Nokia, and the Carphone Warehouse.

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/charge-phone-with-aplle-and-potato-techcribng.jpg
How does it work?

According to Matthew Sparkes, the head of dept of tech for telegraph, The energy actually originates from the metal connecting the apples and potatoes, rather than the fruits and vegetables themselves. The zinc from the galvanized nails and copper act as electrodes, and the apple or potato acts as an electrolyte.

Atoms from the zinc electrode dissolve into the apple or potato as a positively-charged ion (an atom where the number of electrons is not equal to the number of protons), leaving two negatively-charge electrons stranded behind.

These electrons pass via the wire connecting the two electrodes in order to join with hydrogen ions from the apple or potato to form hydrogen gas. This flow of electrons is electrical current.
what do you think?

HAPPY NEW YEAR POEMS

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/new-yr-poem-techcribng.jpg

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That’s not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our prides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that’s the burden of a year.”Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Happy New Year to you!
May every great new day
Bring you sweet surprises–
A happiness buffet.
Happy New Year to you,
And when the new year’s done,
May the next year be even better,
Full of pleasure, joy and fun. Joanna Fuchs

HE UNKNOWN FUTURE
Life is a book in volumes three–
The past, the present, and the yet-to-be.
The past is written and laid away,
The present we’re writing every day,
And the last and best of volumes three
Is locked from sight — God keeps the key.

NEW YEAR

At the sound of the tolling midnight bell
a brand new year will begin.
Let’s raise our hopes in a confidant toast,
to the promise it ushers in.

May your battles be few, your pleasure many,
your wishes and dreams fulfilled.
May your confidence stand in the face of loss
and give you the strength to rebuild.

May peace of heart fill all your days
may serenity grace your soul.
May tranquil moments bless your life
and keep your spirit whole.

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU
A new year is beginning to peak through
softly beautiful and different like new falling snow,
each day unique and shaped just for you.
Your life adding something as each day does grow.
My wish for your new year is beauty
and softness with surprises thrown in for delight.
Love for each day bringing happiness to you,
making your life a scene of sparkle and shining sunlight.

LET THE NEW YEAR BE…
Let the new year be a year of freedom from sin,
a year of service, a year of trust in God,
and it will be a happy year from first to last.
It may be the hardest year we have known,
but it will be the happiest….By J. M. Buckley ~

NEW YEAR
To leave the old with a burst of song;
To recall the right and forgive the wrong;
To forget the things that bind you fast
To the vain regrets of the year that’s past;
To have the strength to let go your hold
Of the not worth while of the days grown old;
To dare go forth with a purpose true,
To the unknown task of the year that’s new;
To help your brother along the road,
To do his work and lift his load;
To add your gift to the world’s good cheer,
Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.
Conclusion

New Year is best enjoyed with family and friends. Spread the New Year spirit and share the joy and happiness. Hope this New Year brings to you a magical touch of various treats and pampers you with several surprise presents. Enjoy and don’t miss this opportunity of sending warm wishes to your near and dear ones. Happy New Year 2015 to everyone out there and cheers!

PhonesCharge Your Phone Just By Walking. See How It Works! by baseg25(op):
Technology gives individual the ability to communicate instantly and respond quickly to business situations. Today’s technology scene seems overheated to some. Software apps are reaching tens of millions of users within weeks. Major technology names like Research in Motion and Nokia are being undone by rapid changes to their markets. Underlying these developments: the unprecedented speed at which mobile computers are spreading.

Meanwhile , Ex-students of Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, invented insole. The Insoles have a mechanical system inside them, which spins a generator.. The Generator allows power to be stored in a battery pack stored outside shoe.

Insoles provide two-and-a-half hours of phone charge from a one hour walk.. I strongly belief its gonna be amazing to be able to Charge your Phone by Walking...

"Our EnSoles have an embedded mechanical system inside of them, which is what generates the electricity , Davit Davitian, head of business development for SolePower, explained.‘

‘During the heel strike the kinetic energy of the foot is transferred into the mechanical system, which uses it to spin a micro-generator.’

This generator allows power to be built up in an external battery pack connected by a cable, called a PowerPac, tied onto the laces so it sits on top of a shoe.

Dailymail also reports that, It contains a USB port, allowing a variety of items to charge off it, including smartphones.

Mr Davitian said: ‘The PowerPac is attached to the shoelaces, as you walk you are charging the PowerPac.

‘When you wish to charge your phone, you simply detach the PowerPac from your shoelaces and plug into the available USB port.’

The SolePower company is a spin-out from Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, which received $60,000 (£38,591) of money from a 2013 Kickstarter campaign.

While the insole is still in the design phase, the company intends on launching it ‘as soon as possible’

HOW DO THE ENSOLES WORK?

The insoles fit into shoes and the wire is wrapped through the laces.
The charging wire from the insole is plugged into the battery pack, which sits outside the shoe - either fastened around the ankle, or clipped onto the top of the footwear.
An embedded mechanical system inside the soles generates the electricity.
During the heel strike of each step, kinetic energy of the foot is transferred into the mechanical system.
This uses the energy to spin a micro-generator.
Wearers walk for an hour to generate two-and-a-half hours’ worth of power for a smartphone.
When the battery pack is charged, it can be unclipped from the shoe and connected to a smartphone, or other device using a USB cable.
The device is set to go on sale soon.

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/footware-2-techcribng.jpg
The insole connects to a power pack (pictured) and collects kinetic energy, with a mechanism that converts linear motion - generated while walking - into rotational motion, which is capable of spinning a generator

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/footware-3-techcribng.jpg

Sarah Griffiths an editor for MailOnline said that , It is not the first time designers have attempted to harness power produced by walking in order to charge devices.

In 2013, mechanical engineering students from Rice University in Houston, Texas, created a prototype shoe capable of charging a mobile phone.

Their PediPower shoes featured a shoe-mounted generator instead of an insole, which they designed to charge medical equipment in remote areas of the world.

The prototypes delivered an average of 400 milliwatts, which is enough to charge a battery through what looked like a metal heel, attached to the back of the shoe.
