BlackBerry launches the Classic, a new phone for people that want an old keyboard. Blackberry yesterday launched its Classic, a new phone that it hopes will convince those holding onto old BlackBerry’s for their keyboard and size to finally upgrade.
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/blackberry-techcribng.jpg
Jennifer Cowan , a Managing Editor for Sitepronews reports that BlackBerry is getting back to basics with the launch of its new BlackBerry Classic Smartphone that gives enthusiasts the QWERTY keyboard they love along with the speed of new technology.
The Canadian Smartphone maker really needs this phone to be a success as it struggles to regain its footing in an ultra-competitive market dominated by Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Android-powered handsets.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen officially debuted the BlackBerry Classic today at a special event in New York.
The device, which sells unlocked for $449 in the U.S. and $499 in Canada, offers 60 percent more screen space, 50 percent longer battery life and a browser that is three times faster, Chen said.
“We listened closely to our customers’ feedback to ensure we are delivering the technologies to power them through their day — and that feedback led directly to the development of BlackBerry Classic,” Chen said. “BlackBerry Classic is the powerful communications tool that many BlackBerry Bold and Curve users have been waiting for. It’s the secure device that feels familiar in their hands, with the added performance and agility they need to be competitive in today’s busy world.

The device also features the BlackBerry 10.3.1 operating system, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of device storage (expandable by up to 128GB via uSD), and a 2MP front- and 8MP rear-facing camera with enhanced optics and upgraded imaging sensors.

BlackBerry Blend is a nifty feature that links messaging and content across all of a user’s devices while BlackBerry Hub enables the user to manage all e-mail, texts, BBMs, phone calls and social media in one place.
The device also features the BlackBerry Assistant, the company’s first digital assistant that can be used with voice and text commands.
“It’s the only Smartphone assistant on the market today that can access both personal and work content in your work perimeter,” the company said in a press release. “BlackBerry Assistant intelligently determines how to respond to you based on how you interact with it – if you type, it responds silently, if you speak, it speaks back and if you activate over Bluetooth, it speaks back with additional context because it assumes you might not have access to the screen.”
Users can also access productivity apps for business from BlackBerry World as well as popular Android apps and games via the Amazon Appstore.
“This device underscores our commitment to helping BlackBerry users be at their most productive and respond to the demands of business from anywhere, at any time,” said Chen. “By bringing back the trusted functionalities, incorporating our latest operating system and building a speedier browser, our users can feel confident they are using the best communications tool out there.” source : http://techcribng.com/blackberry-launches-classic-phone-with-qwerty-keyboard/ |

According to a report by Business insider, The rumors started shortly after the the co-founder of rival messaging app Telegram, Pavel Durov, told TechCrunch that he thought WhatsApp was working on a web version“since they tried to hire our web dev.” WhileWhatsApphas yet to make any official mention of a web version of its popular messaging app, a recent discovery by the team at AndroidWorld.nlappears to back up Durov’s suspicions. Hidden inside the code of a recent WhatsApp update is the mention of “WhatsApp Web.” https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/whatsapp-skitch-techcribng.jpeg In addition to the explicit mention of “WhatsApp Web,” the code also mentions logging in to a web service as well as references to tracking statuses online. It’s still not definite proof, but it certainly looks like the WhatsApp team is at least exploring some sort of web functionality. With over 600 million users, WhatsApp is the largest messaging service that still doesn’t offer a web version, as competitors like Line, Viber, Telegram, and WeChatall allow you to message either on your phone or the via the web. its gona luk gud to be able to use whatsapp on our Pc, what do you think?. Just Take a second, and try to imagine the world without theInternet. Its Kind of tough, huh!..How do you managed to get through the day without the internet , which many people believed started 25yrs back. The Internet, for better or worse, has changed almost every single aspect of our lives. Perhaps the most important and lasting impact of the Internet is the speed at which people can now come together to protest and share there views using social networks, especially Twitter and Facebook. In 2012, there were more than 2 billion internet users. One thing is certain, the internet, also known as the World Wide Web, has forever changed the way that people obtain and gather information, in addition to how people all over the world communicate with each other. Many have contributed one way or the other to the growth and success of the internet…. It is usual to have an idea but turning that idea into a booming company through innovation and execution matters most. Here, these are the people who have the biggest impact on the direction of the web: past, present, and future. They changed the internet and revolutionized the way we propel our lives today. Just imagine the world without internet, it has become part of our daily life. 42 People Who Changed the Internet Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn Father of the Internet. allisonluvsu: Good write up bro. You have your block button activated. Secondly, use ur settings properly and you will have no issue with automatic download of photos. Thirdly, if all the contacts on your mobile phone is useful, then you will not be thinking of blocking some persons.Thirdly, that is the more reason you should buy a power bank from either konga or Jumia now it is cheaper, atleast 1k will save your power for the whole day. Fouthly, i have observed that those that often send messages to too many women/girls complain alot about whatsapp eating the battery span up.Lastly, you can not get everything you want coz the app was not only designed to meet 100% user want. You simply opt in or you opt out. The choice is yours.
Conclusion: With this few points of mine, i hope i have been able to convince you that Whatsapp is a great messaging app for matured people. If not, try 2go. Thank you lol |
Phones › 7 Things Everyone Hates About Whatsapp by baseg25(op): 1:03pm On Dec 16, 2014 |
WhatsApp Messenger is a proprietary, cross-platform instant messaging subscription service for smartphones and selected feature phones that uses the Internet for communication. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages as well as their location using integrated mapping features. Whatsapp is said to be the most widely used instant messaging application outside Asia and it’s interesting to note is the most widely used instant messaging you would swear it has no downsides, negatives or has atleast given users more freedom around security and privacy.. But you some people do overdo or don't even know how to use it, especially when will talk about selfie and the rest.
Adding friends
This is one the thing i dislike about whatsapp...i just don't like it when everyone who has my numbers can automatically add me.i know most of you reading this now will disagree with me but I am simply saying there is nothing as irritating as the inability to determine who can connect with you and how. Whilst some people can argue that you have the option to block people, a lot of people I have blocked have either resurfaced on a new number which either embarrassed me because people I blocked asked me the question “Why did you block me” or I felt infringed further by the same people I am trying not to connect with forcing themselves into my life without my consent. Blocking all the time can be a daunting task. Imagine how a simple friend request would simplify things.
limit to the number of Group
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/whatsapp-group-techcribng1.jpg
There would be a limit to the number of groups one can be a part of for the sheer sanity reasons. Groups like ‘can’t stand these cousins group’ ‘we were in college together group’ ‘old school group’ ‘daughter’s friends’ mothers’ group’ ‘son’s classmates’ mothers’ group’ ‘son’s hobby class’ mothers’ group’ ‘and ‘we’ll soon figure out what the hell you are doing in this group’ will have to show 10 messages every individual every week to renew their membership into the group.
Online Activity
Unlike im like 2go , and the rest , whatsapp don't allow you to choose when I want to be visible and when I just need sometime to talk to that one person whether my friend , gf , or mother without having to chat with the whole world or give people that excuse I dread the most “Sorry I am busy now let’s talk later” It would be nice to have a feature that allows one to be invisible or away (Take a leaf from Skype already) . Some will even argue that there is a ” hide last seen activity” this feature is only useful if you not active on Whatsapp
Time stamp
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/TIME-STAMP-TECHCRIBNG.jpg
Whatsapp “time-stamp” your last online status. This is the most annoying privacy-intrusive function! I have no idea why the developer wants to include such a feature. But it is a disturbing tool for stalkers to track one’s availability. You can disable the “time-stamp” function but the app will still reveal your online and offline status. Without you knowing, anyone can check if you are active or not. This function is stupid and should be disable permanently.
Don’t allow me to send a message when I am not connected to Internet
Why WhatsApp assumes, I should not write message when its not connected to internet? Why should I wait until I got Internet connection? I might want to write a message and post it, whenever my iPhone get connected to internet, it should send automatically. Its really annoying feature (read failure).
Automatic downloading of photos
WhatsApp application for iPhone downloads the photos and videos without any instruction and the worst part is it doesn’t have any option to set it. Some intelligent people argue that, there is an option in WhatsApp to turn off automatic savings of media to gallery, but wait… it only prevents photos to be saved in gallery, but still it continues to download automatically and stores into WhatsApp's gallery, which you can access through contact’s “View all media” option.
Whatsapp: The merciless battery drainer
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/whatsapp-battery-techcribng.gif
In country like Nigeria that power supply is absolutely zero, You don’t check your phone much. And your phone shouts “Please connect your charger” about 3 times a day along with some 500 whatsapps :/ NOW TO YOU
I know you may disagree with 7 reasons above. it is true that life just feels incomplete without WhatsApp!!!... Any suggestion , comment , or the reason why you also hate whatsapp.. please let us know by using our comment box. source : http://techcribng.com/hates-about-whatsapp/ |

so because most people use their phones to browse that's why a topic about facebook is in the phones section?
facebook is a website, where you access it from doesn't matter. The fact that most people use their phones doesn't make it a phone thing.
You may as well open up a topic on google and put it in the phones section because people use their phone to browse. it will make a whole lot of sense
There is a general section on nl where you would have gotten more views and the post moved to its appropriate section. i just want to people to view and comment on this topic compare to the science and tech section.. Please if knw the mod on this section tell him to move it to the General section. Thanks. |

https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/wakie-appwake-her-up-techcribng.jpeg Are you someone like that my friend that do Struggle to get up in the morning?……. Do you know that you can Get a STRANGER to wake you up every morning or you just constantly hit the snooze button each morning to avoid getting out of bed, wakie app lets random people call each other at set times. It took 9 months to be approved, but, Wakie — the ‘social alarm clock’ that lets you wake up (and be woken up by) strangers — has finally arrived . it was originally Launched in Russia as a website back in 2011, before being rebuilt , rebranded and debuting on Windows Phone and Android earlier this year, the app is designed to replace your phone’s alarm clock with a call from a real person: Namely, another member of the Wakie community. For example , you set an alarm through the app at, 6 a.m. you’ll get a call from another user waking you up when that time comes. Likewise, if you’re in the mood to be the waker, not the wakee, (“Wakies” and “Sleepies” in the app’s parlance) you can also go to the app, see how many people are ready to rise and shine and click to be the person who delivers the news. https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/wakie-techcribng.jpg
HOW THE WAKIE APP WORKS Wakiewas created Armenian developer Hrachik Adjamian. To use Wakie, an alarm is set via the app for 7am for example, and at 7am, the user who set the alarm will receive a phone call from another member. This member can be from anywhere in the world. Each call lasts just 60 seconds, and users will hear a warning at 50 seconds, before the call is automatically cut off. User can also choose to wake someone else up,and the free app does not reveal phone numbers. Each call is carried out over the internet, which means if a user is connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network, they won’t be charged for the call. However, on a mobile network, the call will use data, and if the user has used more than their data limit, they may incur a fee. “A lot of people keep snoozing alarm clocks and still can’t wake up,” Hrachik Adjamian, Wakie’s CEO and co-founder, told TechCrunch.“Our research shows that a one-minute talk to a stranger wakes your brain up with a 99% guarantee. When someone asks you questions in the morning your brain has to wake up to answer. Also you try to be kind, you try to turn on your social pattern of behavior. After the call you can’t sleep anymore even if you had a short sleep.”Adjamian told TechCrunch that version may allow conversations up to five minutes, as well as letting users choose the gender of the person who calls them. Remember that wakie is free and the premium version is on the way which is going to extend the talk time for each wake up call to 5 minutes, and allow you to specify the gender of the person ( male or female or both) you are connected to and see their profile after the call, depending on their individual privacy settings. Adjamian also saidthe company is also working on adding clever robo-calls. You will have an ability to set an alarm clock just for you: it will tell you the weather in your city, news from your industry, interesting facts and much more. i think this should be a great news for celebrity because it also consist of a Celebrity alarm clock. You can buy an alarm clock of your idol and get different pre-recorded calls from him every day. Celebrities promote their alarm clocks on their social network pages. visit the source for amazing tech tips and news : http://techcribng.com/app-gets-a-stranger-to-wake-you-up/ |
