In honor of this horrible experience, we give you Tony Soprano.
8. Dot Matrix Printer
It’s no secret that printers are loud, but no printer shuffles along more loudly that the Dot Matrix printer from the 1970s. Boy was this thing LOUD.
9. Dial upNowadays the Internet is super fast. Even “low-speed” Internet is fast. Don’t believe us? We suggest you go talk to someone who lived through the 90s. You need only say three words to this person: Dial-up Internet. That loud groan you’ll hear is the collective frustration of every person who ever had to suffer the torture of dial up. Not only did you take over the phone line, which gave your grandmother anxiety attacks because she kept getting the busy signal (see above) while she dialed you on her rotary phone, but you also had to wait half an hour for anything to appear on the screen. But that wasn’t the worst part. Oh no. The worst part was the sound. That horrible dial-up ton
10. AOL You’ve Got Mail!
No doubt you’re still traumatized by the dial up tone and just experienced a horrible flashback, so we’ll end things with a much nicer sound that many of us actually miss. So here it is. You’ve got mail!
Now to you
Do you agree with this , or You think some things are still is missing from this list, please feel free to tell us by using our comment box below …

Technology is improving everyday which had lead to new creative thought and improvement in mobile app and gadget.
As you all know that Technology is improving everyday which had lead to new creative thought and improvement in application and gadget. These days, technology is eerily quiet. You have complete control over which sounds you hear and when you hear them. If you want to silence your smartphone, all it takes is the flip of a virtual switch or the press of a touchscreen button.Remember when technology was loud and obnoxious? while many of the sounds from days past annoyed us to no end back in the day, it’s so fun to reminisce now that we’re rid of them forever. Thanks to YouTube and the amazing archive that is the Internet, we’ve put together this charming list of antiquated tech sounds.
WARNING:While reading this post you may suffer from traumatic flashbacks and fits of nostalgia.
1. Typewriter
When visting a friend of mine at Office Technology department of Yaba college of technology , and i look at the way he is typing on his Typewriter , i laughed no wonder Malarie Gokey the author of this article describe it as the oldest dinosaur whose sounds we’ve unearthed is one that has been popular since the 1860s and alive in some incarnation since the 1570s. The typewriter enjoyed more than 100 years of uninterrupted domination in the lives of journalists and writers everywhere before finally being displaced by computers in the 1980s and 90s. Of course, if you’ve ever ventured into your parents’ basement or gone to a flea market in Brooklyn, you’ve seen a typewriter in person and maybe even used one. If you get real sad, there’s always Tom Hanks’ viral Hanx Writer typewriter app on iOS for those of you who long for the era of clacking keys, ink ribbons, and whiteout.
2. Rotary phone
If you were around in 1960s through the 80s, you probably grew up dialing your best friend’s digits into this slow-moving wheel. The rotary phone first arrived in the 1890′s and became popular in 1900s. For the next 60 odd years, people went through the painstaking process of entering seven to nine numbers into the rotary dial. There was a lot of waiting involved, so it was a good thing calling 911 only required three swipes (though it seems unfortunate that folks had to wait for the 9 to go round).
3. Busy signal
Remember when people actually had land lines and sometimes the signal was busy? Then you had to hear this horrible sound for what seemed like forever. And then you’d have to try calling again, and again, and again until it stopped.
4. Pager beep
Before there were text messages, there was the pager. First used to call doctors to New York City hospitals in the 1950′s the pager quickly became the ultimate device for businessmen on the go and the tech savvy.
Then, in the 1990s, hip-hop culture picked up the pager and glamorized it. Ice Cube, Destiny’s Child, and other major acts referenced pagers in their songs. Pagers were so cool and so annoying. Oddly enough, many doctors still use them today. Remember this terrible sound?
5. VCR rewind
We know it’s hard to believe, but yes, there were movies before Netflix. Once upon a time you had to go to actual movie theaters to watch anything (gasp), but then the world got really advanced and created the VCR and VHS tape. The only bad part about the VHS was you had to rewind it when you were done or face the wrath of your older sibling when they popped it in the VCR a week later and had to wait a minute or two for the darn thing to rewind … and they would wear out pretty fast. I think we can agree that VCRs can stay in the past.
6. Floppy disk drive
Saving your class project on a floppy disk when everyone else had CDs was not fun — ask any 90s/00s kid who had cheapskate parents. But before floppy discs became Lame, they were the best and only way to save and transfer files from PC to PC. Up until Apple eschewed the floppy disc drive for the CD-ROM drive, Floppy discs were the bees knees — even though the drives sounded ridiculous while reading the small discs (and unless you had an old 5-inch drive, they also were not floppy at all even though the word floppy was in the name).
7. CD skipping
If you were around in the 80s, you probably heard about CDs from your rich friends. 90s kids may have owned a cassette or two before their rooms became full of CDs. Cassette tapes existed for a very long time before CDs, but once they arrived in the early ’80s, CDs took over quickly. Then Apple released the iPod, ending the reign of the CD with the MP3, which is now being replaced by the likes of Spotify and Pandora, but we digress. The thing about CDs is that they’re delicate. Scratch ‘em once and you’re stuck cursing the world every time the CD skips right in the middle of your favorite song.

Technology is improving everyday which had lead to new creative thought and improvement in mobile app and gadget.
Android is a popular operating system based on the Linux kernel with a user interface based on direct manipulation, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers..

Whistle Cam is also works like the Whistle camera , but it has less feature than it! Here also you can snap picture just by whistling. The awesome thing added here is, you can adjust white balance for your photos before taking photos. This is a very good advantage here when compared to Whistle Camera. Here also you can share your photos directly on social media by just tapping the social keys. In this app you can’t use or control the front camera. It will not support you front camera and the sensitivity of the whistle can’t be adjust or changed by you. But others are working fine! Just give a try for it on your mobile!

BloombergL.P. , a privately held financial software, data and media company headquartered in New York City reported this morning that Apple Inc.’s suppliers are preparing to manufacture the company’s largest-ever iPad, with production scheduled to commence by the first quarter of next year, According to people with knowledge of the matter.
The new iPad will have a screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public.Applecurrently produces iPads with 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch displays.
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Apple-Preparing-New-12.9-Inch-IPad-for-Early-2015-techcribng.jpg
The Cupertino, California-based company has been working with suppliers for at least a year to develop a new range of larger touch-screen devices, said the people.
Trudy Muller, a spokeswoman for Apple, declined to comment.

Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cookis working to shake up the iPad line. Sales of the tablets, which are Apple’s second-biggest product by revenue after the iPhone, have declined for two straight quarters amid a lack of new models and as consumers have instead gravitated to smartphones with bigger screens. Apple’s suppliers recently started manufacturing an updated 9.7-inch screen iPad, and were also set to enter production of a new version of the iPad mini, people familiar with the plans have said, with the devices set to be available later this year in time for the holiday season.

Tablet Growth
Apple is also increasing the screen size of the iPhone, people with knowledge of the plans have said. The company is holding an event on Sept. 9 to debut new bigger-display iPhones, the people have said. Those smartphones went into mass production in July, Bloomberg News reported in June. The iPhones will come in two new models: one with a 4.7-inch screen and another with a 5.5-inch screen, the people have said.
Shares of South Korea’s LG Display Co. and Taiwan’s AU Optronics Corp. climbed to their highest levels since 2012 in Asia trading. LG Display rose 1.4 percent to close at 35,200 won in Seoul. Innolux Corp.climbed its 6.8 percent daily limit to close at NT$15 in Taipei and AUO climbed 6.6 percent to NT$14.65.
*.Apple is working on a bigger-screen iPad even as much of the growth in tablets has recently come from low-end, smaller-screen models. That helped Google Inc.’s Android mobile operating system become the top tablet operating system last year, with 62 percentof the market, according to researcher Gartner Inc. IPads that use Apple’s iOS mobile software had a 36 percent market share at the end of 2013, down from 53 percent a year earlier, according to the researcher.
IBM Partnership
Potential customers for larger-screen iPads are businesses, where the device could take on more tasks of a traditional laptop computer. In July, Apple unveiled a partnership with International Business Machines Corp., and Cook said part of the pact’s rationale was to sell to corporations so they could “be a catalyst for future iPad growth.”
OJitesh Ubrani, an analyst at researcher IDC, said while tablet sales growth has slowed, he projects businesses, schools and governments will become bigger buyers of the devices. Those groups accounted for 16 percent of tablet sales in the second quarter this year, up from 13 percent a year earlier, he estimated.
“We’re expecting larger tablets to do better” in the enterprise market, Ubrani said in an interview.

After a busy lecture day in school today, i read this lovely article on CNN titled Eagerly awaiting the new iPhone? Then sell your old one now. With my little knowledge and research, IPhone 6 posses a lot of characteristic like bigger in size i.e Five inches is the new four inches , strong Battery life, data performance, fitness apps ,GPS hangups could be fixed e.t.c

Eagerly awaiting the new iPhone? Then sell your old one now
.
The trade-in value of an old iPhone declines sharply before the launch of each new one, and Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 in just a couple of weeks-- on Sept. 9.

In the past, prices for old iPhones have dropped 20% a month before and after the company's announcement, according to Gazelle, a company that will buy your old iPhone from you.
The company calls Apple's launch day, which typically happens in September, "Gazelle Christmas," said Alyssa Voorhis, the company's senior tech analyst.

As of Tuesday, a customer could fetch up to $290 for a 16 GB iPhone 5S in good condition. Prices vary depending on what carrier it supports.,
This year, Gazelle is allowing customers to lock in a guaranteed price for their older iPhone now and send it to Gazelle later, after buying the new version. So don't worry, you won't have to be left without a smartphone while waiting for the iPhone 6.

A growing number of people are figuring out that their old gadgets are worth some cash. The company has a 125% jump in trading-in customers this year, compared to last year. On Aug. 18, the first day customers could lock in a price at Gazelle, the company made more than two price offers every second.

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/money/dam/assets/140722130612-apple-smartwatch-iwatch-patent-00000026-620x348.jpg

A lot of the increase is due to a growing awareness of the service, said Voorhis. But there may be another reason Apple fans are ready for an upgrade this year. It's likely the new version will have an entirely different body.

"Historically, there's a lot of excitement when that happens," Voorhis said.

Aircraft to be made from 'human-like skin' to enable them to feel damage and monitor their health while flying

BAE Systems in Essex has revealed a new technology for aircraft
The smart skin would be embedded with thousands of micro-sensors
The sensors act like human skin to detect damage and 'feel' the world
These can sense wind speed, temperature and movement accurately
Could then monitor health and locate potential problems like our bodies

A system that allows the exterior of aircraft to "feel" damage or injury in a way similar to human skin is being developed by British experts.
Dailymail revealed that Engineers at BAE Systems’ Advanced Technology Centre are investigating a ‘smart skin’ concept which could be embedded with tens of thousands of micro-sensors.

When applied to an aircraft, it will enable it to sense wind speed, temperature, physical strain and movement, far more accurately than current sensor technology allows.
https://techcribng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/BAE_Systems_AIRCRAFT-techcribng.jpg
The image above show a new technology developed by BAE Systems in Essex . A human-like 'skin' will detect damage and 'feel' the world around the plane (illustration shown). The smart skin would be embedded with thousands of micro-sensors. These can sense wind speed, temperature and movement accurately
The revolutionary ‘smart skin’ concept will enable aircraft to continually monitor their health, reporting back on potential problems before they become significant.
Engineers say the smart skin system would reduce the need for regular check-ups on the ground and parts could be replaced in a timely manner, increasing the efficiency of aircraft maintenance, the availability of the plane and improving safety.
The tiny sensors or ‘motes’ can be as small as grains of rice and even as small as dust particles at less than 0.002 inches squared (one millimetre squared).

Collectively, the sensors would have their own power source and when paired with the appropriate software, be able to communicate in much the same way that human skin sends signals to the brain.
The sensors are so small that BAE Systems is exploring the possibility of retrofitting them to existing aircraft and even spraying them on like paint.

An analyst also to The BBC that innovation could prove useful "far beyond the military".

Senior research scientist Lydia Hyde, who came up with the technology, says the idea came to her while watching her tumble dryer, which uses a sensor to prevent overheating.

"Observing how a simple sensor can be used to stop a domestic appliance overheating got me thinking about how this could be applied to my work and how we could replace bulky, expensive sensors with cheap, miniature, multi-functional ones," she said.

'The idea is to make platforms "feel" using a skin of sensors in the same way humans or animals do.

'By combining the outputs of thousands of sensors with big data analysis, the technology has the potential to be a game-changer for the UK industry.

'In the future we could see more robust defence platforms that are capable of more complex missions whilst reducing the need for routine maintenance checks.

'There are also wider civilian applications for the concept which we are exploring.'

The research is part of a range of new systems being investigated by BAE Systems under a major programme exploring next-generation technology for air platforms.

Jennifer Cole, senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) think tank, told the BBC the technology could help stave off natural disasters or everyday annoyances.

"It could help equipment and technology to 'report back' on local environmental conditions and alert users to when repairs are needed ahead of schedule if hairline cracks are detected early, for example on flood defences and dams.

"Or it could enable water pipes to 'switch on' heating elements automatically during a particularly cold winter that would prevent pipes from freezing and bursting."

She added: "If similar technology could be applied to cars, it could revolutionise MOT schedules and potentially reduce road accidents."

A WORLD-first system to track cars via their Bluetoothdevices as they drive around Adelaide will help drivers avoid traffic congestion and reduce travel times.
The Traffic SA system will display travel times via various routes between major destinations on roadside message boards to help drivers choose the quickest routes, according to the Transport Department.
Colour coding of travel times will also be used to demonstrate areas of high congestion, with red used to signal the greatest delays.
The innovative system uses more than 280 “receivers’’ – worth $1000 each and mostly located at traffic lights – to count passing cars fitted with Bluetooth across more than 700km of Adelaide roads and highways heading into the city.
A pilot program is underway with a message board erected on North East Rd near the intersection with Grand Junction Rd showing travelling times to the north-eastern suburbs.

Transport Minister Stephen Mulligan said the system “measures traffic in real time, allowing us to predict where traffic is likely to build up, and communicate this to drivers to consider using alternative routes.
“This bluetooth trial is unique in delivering up-to-the-minute data for motorists, and we are keen to see if this provides advantages over other existing sources of traffic information,’’ he said.

The Transport Department said numbers identifying individual Bluetooth systems were not collected by the receivers.
The ground breaking system last night received a gong at the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management conference held in Adelaide.
Other Excellence Award winners included Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Council’s City-Wide cycling plan which created Bicycle Boulevards..
