otokx: Companies headquartered in Lagos most times hire our brothers in the West in their numbers, they will always give an excuse that those in the Niger Delta are not suitablly qualified.
This is how the majority tribes oppress and exploit the minority tribes.
The sad part is when a minority person gets to the top they now wash his head to forget where he is coming from and then carelessly get caught in corrupt practices which the majority tribes engage in even more. I think they say lagos is a no man's land and that yorubas in lagos are Agberos and omo onile... |

SOME PEOPLE WILL STILL BELIEVE HE IS A MAN OF GOD.THESE ARE SOME OF HIS 2016 PROPHESIES.NON OF IT COME TO PASS:
Some of Apostle Suleiman’s predictions below: 1. If Americans don’t pray, there will be no election in 2016 as Obama want a THIRD TERM. He will throw up issues relating marital laws.
2. I see a Governor in Nigeria dying.
3. I don’t see some Ministers in President Buhari’s cabinet in office in 2016. They will be abroad for medicals.
4. I see another World War (Russia Vs America)
5. Washington and NewYork should pray against terrorist attacks in 2016
6. Boko Haram has devised new strategies. They will come to public places screaming for help and when people gathers to assist, they blow off the bomb.
7. I see Warri, Delta state being bombed.

aribisala0: The Prof was not making a diagnosis. Last time I checked you need a patient to be making a diagnosis and Buhari is NOT his patient. We must not lose sight of the context
He was conducting an INTERVIEW with the press that was conjectural and speculative on a person of immense public interest and this is what he said
I do not see any confusion over what he said AT ALL
What does PRELIMINARY mean ok |
Politics › Re: "Buhari Has Anaemia", Femi Williams, Professor Of Medicine by Basic123: 12:26pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
aribisala0: We are discussing a newspaper interview not conducting a hospital Grand Round.
So we need to read what the Prof said and contextualize it properly. There is no need to get into technilaties of what anaemia is or is not. That is why in hospital it is the more senior and experienced doctors who are mandated to speak to the publc because they have the maturity to properly calibrate their words.
All that dialogue about causes of anaemia etc has its proper time and place . As far as the interview that I read goes it was properly pitched at the audience. The Prof was not addressing an annual scientific/medical conference but the public and his choice of words was spot on.
Nigerian doctors have a very bad attitude ,that is a fact. Not just nigerian doctors, policemen, judges, everyone. The doctors are arrogant and disrespectful and seem to think that textbooks are bibles. This is a cultural issue with the practice of medicine in Nigeria we cannot pretend otherwise. It is this same attitude that is reflected in this thread; The desire to put down or disparage overtakes the capacity to balance ,weigh and reflect. Nigerian doctors do very well abroad often because they are smart but they must change attitude and imbibe the ability to say " I don't know". Something you willl never hear in Nigeria
I see absolutely nothing wrong with what the prof said but I am not surprised by what I have read head ok |

aribisala0: Did you read the interview. Did you reflect on it before commenting.
You sound immature. You claim it is ALWAYS secondary to something. That may be true(it may be essential) but everything is secondary to something. Leaving that to one side once again did you read the interview? A mature doctor wants to be armed with the facts before condemning a colleague. Your post is self serving and not relevant to what HE ACTUALLY SAID.
At any rate have you ever used ICD 10 in your life to make charges for treatment ? Of what relevance is it to aything the prof said that "anaemia is always secondary". He indeed did say as much!!! Let us assume it is secondary to Iron deficiency that may be secondary to a vegetarian diet which is secondary to a religious belief which is secondary to a religious revelation or to poverty or to recession or to the dollar exchange rate ad infinitum.
That is the way medicinie is taught in Nigeria but . secondary conditions like Hypertension like diabetes like dermatitis like anxiety like vitiligo are indeed diagnoses. Nigerian trained doctors have a problem wiith intellectual humility. They know little but think they know everything quote]......"sound immature"?.firstly.You dont have to insult one's personality before arguing your point.so take note of that incase of other time. 2ndly,what facts did the prof you dignified so much has to make a diagnosis from analysing a picture without any history.Anyway,as you've stated, you might have been thought to practice medicine that way abroad. 3rdly,In Nigeria,we were thought to always investigate anaemia to determine the cause which will form the basis of our diagnosis and treat it not just transfusing with blood and give heamatinics. 4thly,dippression,schiz and co still have pathological basis which form the basis on which their drugs for treatment act.Although some pathological basis are still at hypothetical stage. 5thly,it seems you are so eager to rubbish nigerian doctors than anything. You dont have to do that to Marshall your points sir. |

There must be 1.Anatomical 2. Aetiological 3. the observed changes of the condition

Is depression a disease?
Is schizophrenia a disease
Is Autism a disease? Type two diabetes does does not fulfil your 3 criteria rule since there is no anatomic change and the aetiology is almost always unknown or multiple ..They are.if you think they are not in line with my definition, proove it. |

aribisala0: Is hypertension a disease? Is type 2 diabetes a disease? Please define disease? T Hypertension is not a disease.its a state of high blood pressure which may serve as a sign of a cardiovascular disease. You can only have "hypertensive heart disease" in which the patient will also has high BP. Type 2 diabetes is a disease.which will have its own feature like hyperglycemia(high blood suger).so,medically you will not call the patient disease "hyperglycemia" or "high blood sugar" but diabetes. The same thing is applicable to the "anaemia" thing. That causes of anaemia which are many is the disease.e g SCD,sickled cell anaemia.I.e Anaemia caused by sickle cell.you will not just say the patient has anaemia but SCD. . A disease is morbid entity ordinarily characterized by two or more of the following criteria: recognized etiologic agent(s), identifiable group of signs and symptoms, or consistent anatomic alterations. colloquially for a layman, literature alway muddle the sign and symptom with disease.so,they call everything disease. Medicos in the house will understand.I'm very sure the prof. will not say buhari has anaemia as a disease. |

Gaddafithe2nd: Even before Nigeria economy went south, engineers earn more than doctors. I could remember my lecturer then, telling us (students) how her first son a medical doctor was complaining that his younger brother salary, a computer engineer would pay his own salary for 3months. How many of you doctors are earning fine, that is why most of you are eager to have your own clinics/hospitals. I don't even allow new generation doctors to treat me because most of you aren't doing the job with passion. ....firstly,i'm not a doc. 2ndly,forget about passion this or that.we were all sent to school to study, become a professional and making money. If you have a son that study medicine,Will you tell him that, look, this your job is for passion.to show how passionate are you just set up a private clinic and be treating people for free?...And when your work is not corresponding to your work then you complain.Teachers too can do.it is only when doctors are complaining that they will be shouting passion. Also, they have passion for it that is why they go for it.majority of doctors can study engineering with ease. 3rdly,Nigeria has never been a sane country.Go and listen to fela anti-government songs of the 70s. |

overhypedsteve: Lagos is almost 4 times bigger than accra Ghana. While accra Ghana is the capital of Ghana (hence its orderliness). Lagos is just a nigerian state amongst many others. We also have other states whose economy and industrial advancement will make Ghana to look like a nigerian colony. We have: port Harcourt. Calabar. Kaduna. Abuja. Ogun. Akwa ibom. Anambra. Enugu. This are nigerian states that each boast of gdp's larger than that of the whole of Ghana and they are growing at a fast rate. So why are we even answering this guy? What is Ghana's place in world politics? What has Ghana done? What emerging market organization is Ghana a member to. Nigeria is a member in the following emerging market orgs: next 11. (next 11 biggest world economies). Developing 8. Eight fastest developing nations, MINT: Mexico, Indonesia, nigeria, turkey.
So what is Ghana?
What has Ghana done?
What has a ghanian done?
Mention one ghanian born multinational company?
Do you know how many nigerian banks operate in Ghana and hold their financial institution to ransom.
The president of Ghana does not visit Nigeria like an head of state, he visit nigerian state governors like ex imoke and dickson in their lodge.
Nigeria is not fighting to be the giant of Africa anymore. She is now pushing for her rightful place in world politics.
Keep comparing lagos to your nations capital. ..where did you put Oyo state.Go figure oyo state gdp is higher than that of ogun and anambra. And its the 3rd largest non oil economy in nigeria after kano and lagos.you guys and your hatred for Ibadan. |
