To all those who lost their lives in the brutal incidence, you are still remembered. Continue to rest well. |
This is a Federal Road in Ndoro, Ikwuano Abia State. This road links Akwa Ibom and Cross River States but its present state is one that the Federal Government needs to be questioned about. Commuters have been stranded here for days and the queue is almost 3 kilometers long. T.A Orji during his tenure paid no attention to it and now, it is a glaring death trap. Government should please intervene.

talk2odim:will it be correct to say that the manufacturer of the pens paid the government, the marketer paid the manufacturer and the consumer paid the marketer? |
talk2odim:So we should say that the manufacturer of the pens should pay the government while the marketer pays the manufacturer and the consumer pays the marketer? |
ednut1:Oh! Am running my second degree programme for now... I told him something similar but he said, "what if the money is not remitted, who will know and for this course, the VAT should have been added to the cost of the pens bought by the marketer and received by the manufacturer." |
FriedPlantain:Why did you place all the VAT burden on the marketer, which will be borne by the consumer? |
talk2odim:If it is the customer like you said, then why is VAT deducted from his sales proceeds and never added back? |
talk2odim:Now, here is the twist...The question now is, who should pay the VAT? The marketer or the consumer? |
talk2odim:Oh! guess there was a complication with the way you understood the question. There are two categories of tax there: VAT which is charged at 5% and tax on profit which was charged at 10%. Guess you will have to re-work. |
talk2odim:Thanks for the response but would love you to show your computation procedure before arriving at that...thanks |
Good day NairaLanders A friend who recently underwent a job interview as an Accounts Officer in a growing Telecoms firm narrated what he encountered with a question he was asked to tackle during the course of the interview and now he fears that the question could cost him the job. Here it is: A marketer who sells ball point pens (assuming it is a VATable commodity) bought 100units of the product from a manufacturer at #15 per unit. He sold the 70units at #18 per unit (VAT Inclusive); sold another 20units at #20 per unit (VAT Inclusive) and sold the remaining units at half the cost price because they were damaged (VAT Inclusive). NOTE: In Nigeria, VAT is fixed at 5% His tax payable is 10%. Calculate the marketer's take home profit (that is, profit after tax). If you were him, what would your answer be? Let's see it. |
I will give a green card after a victim of a bad tackle stands up and instead of picking a fight or banter words with the opposition who wanted to injure him, he will give him a smile, an handshake and a hug ![]() |

What other data were they supposed to have captured that weren't taken during the SIM registration which has been referred to as incomplete? Everybody wan chop |
The images of people I see on the OP's picture are quite manageable. You needed to see what it was like in an MTN compound in Umuahia, Abia State yesterday that the frustration of people who were even left under the rain forced a uniformed (army) man to slap an MTN security officer. It almost got deadly if not for other civilians. I still couldn't register as I was number 512 on the list. MTN threatened to disconnect my line yesterday but till now, it is still very much active and whenever I am less busy, I will go back for the rubbish! How will aged people in the village travel to town to complete this hazardous task? |
They didn't state how much it was before and after the reduction. |
Heard a fuel tanker fell and caused the mayhem. Properties destroyed. |
I get the feeling that security operatives no longer value the lives of citizens for them to open fire on people to the extent of killing seven. If people are to be necessarily dispersed, why can't some other method be used- tear gas would have been more effective. |
Now, this is becoming melodramatic... Isn't there a better way of dispersing people rather than shooting at them? What happened to tear gas? we just been wasting lives |
Don abeg make this one work...Thank you! |
I no see where your head cut o..
