According to new reports that just emerged today, Cristiano
Ronaldo dumped his model girlfriend, Irina Shayk after she
apparently refused to attend a surprise birthday celebration
for his mum.
The football superstar, 29, spent New Year’s Eve alone with
his son when Irina Shayk decided not to attend the 60th
birthday party. The couple rowed and the former Manchester
United star – this week voted the best player in the world –
decided to end his romance with the Russian beauty.
Her relationship with his mum Dolores Aveiro and sisters
Elma and Katia was at the centre of tensions, according to
reports in Portugal. Irina, 29, sparked speculation after she
stopped following
the Real Madrid star on Twitter.
She also chose not to attend the Fifa Ballon d’Or ceremony in
Zurich on Monday when he was named the best player in the
world. Her boyfriend of nearly five years was joined on stage
by his four-year-old son Cristiano Jr and mum, Dolores.
Ronaldo even thanked his family, teammates and supporters
but made no mention of Irina.

Chelsea and Manchester City have both been heavily linked
with a move for the Argentina superstar but he insists that he

Lionel Messi insists has launched a scathing attack on "lies"
suggesting he wants to leave Barcelona having fallen out with
head coach Luis Enrique.
The Argentina superstar has been heavily linked with both
Manchester City and Chelsea in the past week, with the
Catalans in behind-the-scenes turmoil following the sacking of
the club's sporting director, Carles Puyol's departure and
early elections being called.
Messi and Enrique's relationship was believed to be broken
beyond repair after the 27-year-old was benched against Real
Sociedad - a match Barca lost 1-0 - and it is suspected that
the forward was pushing for the coach to be dismissed.
But Messi has hit back at such claims, insisting that he has
no "rivalry" with the former Roma boss, and lashed out at
sections of the media for throwing "sh*t" at the Catalan club.
"I never demanded anything to stay, as I have no intention of
leaving," he told Barca TV . "It is not good to look for rivalry

Manchester United 's transfer policy.

while ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes completed his
move to Old Trafford earlier this week.
And Van Gaal says that the club will continue to spend
whatever he deems necessary as he continues to reshape the
playing staff at Old Trafford.
"When I cannot improve my selection, then I wait," he told
reporters. "And then I maybe have to wait a year more.
Maybe you think that there are so many fantastic players, but
it is not like that.
"[However,] I don't [necessarily] prefer to wait until the
summer when I can improve my selections. That I have
showed with Valdes.
"When we can buy a player who can improve my selection,
the club shall buy. Money is not interesting. It is always
quality of the players in comparison with the other players
that I have. I have to compare. I have to decide. Money
doesn't play any role."
Van Gaal has assembled a fearsome attacking triumvirate
since taking the United reins, with Falcao, Robin van Persie
and Wayne Rooney all vying for a starting spot.
But he has promised United fans that he will improve the
club's "quality" in the final third over the duration of his
tenure.
"Now that I coach Manchester United, I expect more attacking

Gareth Bale provokes jeers from Real Madrid fans and
Cristiano Ronaldo's anger by shooting instead of passing
Winger faces the wrath of the crowd and team-mate for being

Gareth Bale provoked an angry reaction from Cristiano
Ronaldo and Real Madrid fans during his side's 3-0 victory
over Espanyol at the Bernabéu.
The flashpoint came in the 72nd minute, when the Welsh
international ran on to Isco's pass and decided to shoot,
despite the Portuguese being better placed, and rolled the ball
past the post.
Ronaldo was visibly furious with Bale and the supporters were
equally unforgiving, jeering the former Tottenham player for
selfishness.
The moment is likely to add another layer of intrigue to Bale's
position at Real, which has been the subject of much scrutiny
in recent weeks.
Various reports have suggested that Real are considering
whether to cash in on the player they bought for a world
record £85.3 million in the summer of 2013, with Manchester
United believed to be seriously interested in signing him
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti did his best to play down the
incident afterwards and noted the Welshman had earlier
scored a superb free kick that put Real 2-0 ahead.
"Later on the fans wanted him to pass to Cristiano but
forwards are determined to score when they are through on
the goalkeeper," Ancelotti told a news conference.
"Generosity is very important and if someone is being selfish
then we will address it," added the Italian. "The supporters
are very demanding when it comes to the important players
and Bale is one of those.
"We shouldn't blow this out of proportion. It's one moment in
a football game. Relations between them (Bale and Ronaldo)
and everyone are very good. We are all pursuing the same
goal which is to lift Real Madrid as high as possible."
The reaction to Bale's indiscretion appeared all the more
curious given he had earlier scored with an unstoppable free-
kick, as Real Madrid ended a two-game losing run and stay
top of the Spanish league on Saturday.
James Rodríguez opened the scoring after a long pass from
Bale was headed back to the Colombian by Ronaldo in the
12th minute. Bale made it 2-0 16 minutes later when
Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla could only watch as he rifled
a left-foot free kick in off the post.
The home side played with 10 men for the last 36 minutes
after Fabio Coentrao was given a straight red card for a low
tackle, but it barely bothered them though Ronaldo was
booked for protesting the decision, and the substitute Nacho
scored in the 76th with Espanyol in disarray.
A moment of silence was held before the match for the 12
people killed at the Charlie Hebdo newspaper office in Paris.
Madrid also paraded their Club World Cup trophy won last
month before kick-off.
The victory gave Madrid a four-point lead over Barcelona and
Atlético, before the defending champions visit the Nou Camp
on Sunday.
