Dear Esteemed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , Your remarkable campaign journey was indeed unparalleled. The comprehensive engagement you had with stakeholders from all sectors, a feat no other candidate accomplished, is a testament to your dedication to fostering inclusive governance. Your announcement of an open-door policy is not only extraordinary but stands as an unprecedented strategy in the annals of Nigeria's government. With the recent proclamation of a "state of emergency on food preservation," your leadership acumen further resonates, demonstrating that you are not just a leader of words but also one who pays heed to the trials and tribulations of the masses. However, we must address an area of concern... The approach you've adopted for implementation bears a striking similarity to that of your predecessors, a path whose outcomes we are all too familiar with. Former President Muhammadu Buhari's method of channeling agricultural incentives through state governors is yet to yield tangible results. Therefore, I implore and propose that you involve the agricultural stakeholders as you did during the electoral period. Let the farmers receive their incentives directly from their respective state associations and national bodies. This strategy will enable us to reach the genuine farmers rather than the phantom ones who tend to populate the lists provided by some governors. It wouldn't be surprising to learn that a party loyalist, who is a vulcanizer by profession, could receive these incentives before a bona fide farmer who genuinely needs them. Such a scenario would negatively impact the masses, who are desperately in need of a reduction in the price of food products. While we remain hopeful for a brighter future, we must be vigilant in pruning the bad elements from our system. Yours sincerely, #iambatified

THE FG SHOULD STOP EMPOWERING SMEs Before you question my perspective, let’s consider the Federal Government's longstanding strategy of funding Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as a way of alleviating poverty– a strategy that, from the era of Obasanjo to Buhari, has not proven to be effective. What could Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu do differently? The answer lies in learning from the Igbo people’s system of wealth creation. The former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, acknowledged the potential of the Igbo artisan system as a powerful wealth creation tool if correctly harnessed. In the Igbo system, an artisan is rewarded with millions of naira or a fully stocked shop with all necessary start-up equipment or goods after 5-7 years of service. This artisan, in turn, passes on the same benefits to other artisans, creating a sustainable cycle of wealth and opportunity. Contrastingly, in the Yoruba system, it is the responsibility of the artisan's parent to pay for their child's education and training. After graduation, parents are again burdened with substantial graduation fees, and many of these trained individuals end up as commercial drivers due to a lack of funds to start their own businesses. Where can the government step in? The Federal Government should make business registration more appealing and introduce an "artisan insurance" policy for every SME that employs artisans. Of the government support funds, 60% should be directed towards this insurance, while the remaining 40% should go to the business owner. SME owners should commit to a monthly contribution to this insurance plan until the artisan graduates. Artisans should be incentivized to learn from registered businesses to take advantage of this benefit. This approach will lead to more businesses employing artisans, thereby creating more tax revenues for the government – a win-win situation for all parties involved. I am of the firm belief that wealth creation can be achieved more efficiently through this method, rather than directly funding SMEs. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Join me on this journey as we delve into the ideologies of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Obafemi Awolowo, examining whether they share the same political vision. As a governor, Asiwaju was critical of the policies and ideologies of Obafemi Awolowo, who was widely regarded as a socialist advocating for free education and subsidies for basic amenities. Interestingly, Asiwaju, during his tenure as governor of Lagos, achieved a similar feat by implementing free education, including covering the costs of exams such as WAEC and NECO. However, why the apparent change? Why is Asiwaju currently pursuing a capitalist agenda? Awolowo's policies were successful because he had a smaller population to cater to, as Nigeria was operating under a regional government system. Each state within the region contributed resources that were judiciously utilized by Awolowo's administration to provide free amenities for the people of the Western region. Similarly, Tinubu's success with the free education policy in Lagos was due to the state's manageable size, comprising 20 local governments, which made it easier to implement such policies at the state level. The same Tinubu, who campaigned for and implemented free education as a governor, is now removing subsidies from education and introducing student loans. This predicament is rooted in a fundamental problem, and I must acknowledge that Asiwaju foresaw these challenges from a distance. He never promised free education or freebies during his campaign because he recognized that the Nigerian federalism system can only thrive under a capitalist framework. This is due to the fact that only a few states contribute significantly to the nation's resources, resulting in an imbalance that currently plagues the country. The capitalist system strives for equality and enables governors to exercise their intellectual capacities, while also ensuring that people do not rely on handouts but elect visionary leaders who can think outside the box. Moving forward, Nigeria has only two options. We must either embrace capitalism or revert to the regional system we once practiced. I must hold Aguinyi Ironsi and Nnamdi Azikwe responsible for the predicament we find ourselves in today. Had we harnessed the cocoa from Ibadan, fish from Ilaje, locust bean from Ekiti, marijuana and oil from Ondo, and tourism from Osun, the Western region would have soared to great heights. We must accept the truth that federalism is an expensive form of government that Aguinyi Ironsi forcefully imposed upon us, and it can only function effectively under a full-fledged capitalist system. Currently, we collectively contribute to Nigeria, but only a few reap the rewards. We must separate the wheat from the chaff before each region can embark on decentralization. No one fights for freedom without planning for independent welfare after the battle. That's precisely where we find ourselves today. Until we meet again, stay well!

Annually, a substantial number of Nigerians embark on pilgrimages abroad. Let's set aside the religious aspect for a moment and consider this post from an economic perspective. According to statistics from Israel's Foreign Ministry, which were shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Israel raked in an astounding $7.5 billion from tourists and pilgrims before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. That's an enormous figure! Within Nigeria, we have a significant number of Ifá worshippers who share a connection with their counterparts in Southern America. Brazilians, Cubans, and various other communities across the Americas trace their origins and religious practices back to Nigeria. If I were the governor of Osun State, I would prioritize the celebration of Ifá Week alongside the renowned Osun-Osogbo festival. Undoubtedly, the latter receives more attention and bolsters tourism in the state, but there is room for further exploration. Creating a dedicated week for Ifá worshippers, accompanied by robust publicity, and collaborating with the governments of these foreign nations to promote the significance of Ifá pilgrimage, would be instrumental. If these individuals identify Nigeria as their spiritual source, it presents an opportunity to capitalize on their presence and generate revenue. They can connect with like-minded people, partake in their pilgrimage rituals, and subsequently contribute to the development of the state. If executed effectively, the government of Osun State stands to amass considerable annual profits. To facilitate this vision, Osun State would require: - An international airport to accommodate increased international traffic - Upscale hotels offering world-class amenities - Thoughtfully designed resorts and recreational centers - Seamless interstate transportation options We can commence by engaging with the Brazilian and Cuban communities, while the allure of curiosity will attract Americans and Europeans. Ifá, originating from Nigeria, holds a similar significance to Christians' belief in the origins of their faith in Israel or Greece, and Muslims' belief in the origins of their faith in Saudi Arabia. These nations have been supportive of Nigeria, our brothers. Let us reciprocate by becoming a beacon for our South American brethren. P.S. I am not from Osun State. P.P.S. I am not an Ifá worshipper. #iambatified

THE EASTERNERS AND THE TALIBANS: A TALE OF CONFRONTATION Over the course of two decades, America expended a staggering $2.3 Trillion in their relentless battle against the Taliban, endeavoring to establish democracy in Afghanistan while eradicating the presence of "terrorists." Throughout this period, local Afghanistan troops provided invaluable assistance to the Americans, recording both remarkable successes and distressing losses. However, on the 6th of July, 2021, America announced their imminent departure from Afghanistan, leaving the fate of the Afghanistan army hanging in the balance. Astonishingly, it took a mere two minutes for the Taliban to seize control of the Afghanistan government house. Without encountering any resistance, the Afghanistan army swiftly surrendered. This revelation was a poignant awakening for the Americans, as the very army that had supported them during their expeditions had also betrayed them. The same people whom the Americans had endeavored to safeguard had placed their own interests above those of their allies. This unveiled how the Americans had been repeatedly ambushed and rendered helpless during their tenure in Afghanistan. This situation demonstrated that a significant portion of the Afghan population truly preferred the Taliban's governance over the American influence that had been imposed upon them. Yet, they remained silent, fearing that the Americans would label them as "terrorists." You may be inclined to recall the harrowing images of individuals desperately clinging to planes in an attempt to escape alongside the Americans. However, the truth remains: "in the realm of choices, opposing voices always find their place." The latter portion of this adage fittingly depicts the predicament faced by countless Easterners (Igbos) who stand opposed to the agitation, killings, oppression perpetuated by their fellow Igbos. Yet, they choose to remain silent to evade the wrath of these oppressors and bullies. What about the millions who dutifully adhere to the "Sit at home" order imposed by these individuals, believing it to be a fight for freedom and a necessary sacrifice? They are the ones who should give us pause, as any dissenting voice might be interpreted as an attempt to impede their progress, freedom, and consequently, will be viewed as an enemy. Should we permit this situation to persist? No. This resembles a case wherein caution is of utmost importance, much like dealing with a mosquito perched upon one's testicles. If other regions, particularly the Southwest, remain unconcerned about the occurrences in the Southeast, assuming that they are merely inflicting harm upon themselves and enjoying it, have we contemplated where these individuals will flock in significant numbers seeking safety? Do we possess control over our borders? I have personally witnessed instances that convince me that Easterners are indeed flocking to Lagos. A friend and I encountered an Uber driver who fled the East due to the activities of the UGM. A motorcyclist informed me of his recent departure from Enugu, and a dispute between a conductor and a passenger unveiled the man's unfamiliarity with Lagos transportation. He need not explicitly state his origins; his usage of the term "Arm Lobber" clearly revealed his Eastern background. If we idly stand by, believing that figures such as Mr. Peter Obi , Oby Ezekwesili, Psquare, Obi Cubana, and other prominent Ndigbos are indifferent to a situation that could bring the entire Eastern region to its knees, we must diligently safeguard our own community. For "when harmony dwells in hearts of all, peace finds its way through every wall." The detrimental implementation of the carrot and stick approach by the aforementioned entities can be countered by the federal government and relevant bodies. However, once everything is said and done, can you truly assist those who do not desire help? Food for thought. Wishing you a splendid week ahead! #iambatified
