@oyb. Google Emeagwali, Times magazine called him the "unsung hero of the Internet" and  he's also known as Africa's Bill Gates.
umm emeagwali achievements are exaggerated and no he isn't an unsung hero of the internet.  The software he won an award for  had to do with geology and computing (not the internet).  It's laughable to call him Africa's Bill Gates considering he didn't successfully defend his dissertation nor has he introduced a lasting product to the market.

there is nothing like "noble prize" for supercomputing.   this is all propaganda.

We can discuss it, and ultimately if it's the form of exercise or leisurely activity she enjoys I don't see why it should be biting me in the butt.  She's still not going to beat me up anyway.  I would endorse it.  It's great as a matter of fact.  She can use it in self defense when necessary.
right, it allows the woman to say fit.  Lots of you guys that complain about women getting fat shouldn't mind.

martial arts is all about self-defense and not beating people up.

Lol what a series of farce i'm reading from oyinda's posts.

Now dudes like Bawo can see why I believe women have a proclivity for believing they're innately entitled to financial provisions from men.  This is also a reason why we have the Ujujoan syndrome.
he he Ujujoan deserves a noble prize for gold digger economics.

Why any logical woman would think its right for a woman to spend child support money on herself is mind boggling.

that's the point. to encourage responsibility.
What's wrong with child support laws?  No one is arguing against child support.  If you have a child, u should be forced to support it.
please learn to read.

anyways, on a sidenote, i think one of the reasons Asians are very successful is because the men are encouraged to be hardworking. no money, no job, NO WIFE/FAMILY. lol
here comes the stereotypes.  Asians are a large group (literally billions) with varying cultures.   i guess asians are raised the same way.

with most AAs, it's the opposite.
here comes the racial stereotypes,

a woman looking for a hardworking man to build a successful family with is labeled golddigger.
the key world you have there is "build with".  That's not a golddigger but a partner.  Golddiggers want to live off a man and think they are entitled to spend their children's child support money on themselves.  Kids should not be used for financial gain

"miss independent" aka single mother 9 months down the line, is the applauded way to go.  grin how is this sort of culture beneficial for the society?
Do you know the true meaning of miss independent.  Women like Oprah and condi rice are what i would call miss independent.   you really need to get over this your black women are victims tirade.   The swipe at African americans was pretty hilarious

ok now you make no sense. we're talking about child support and finances.  of course economics is a tied to it. if you want to ignore the economics then there is no logical argument to be made really.
yeah you deserve a couple of checks for raising a baby you brought into the world.  No one forced you to have a child and that includes single mothers. No one forced them to have unprotected sex with no-good men (yes i know some are widows)

lol @  "women are baby factories." seriously now. even if your going to be blatantly sexist,at least try not to make derogatory comments.
madam feminazi "all men are evil" , you weren't reading within the context of the post, were you?  You are a baby factory if you expect to be paid for the "products" you produce.
FamilyRe: I Think Marriage In Africa Is Against Women. by bawomolo(m): 4:46am On Feb 18, 2010
yes it IS a SERVICE.
why do u think women are given paid maternity leaves from work?
the underlying logic behind it is called OPPORTUNITY COST and i'm sure u learned that in intro to economics. it's very simple logic. a child can't pay you for taking care of him/her.
of course why not make the child pay you, you can as well force your kids to hawk Ogi or Plantain on the streets in order to pay you for your SERVICES.  I guess those kids FORCED you to bring them into this world.  Jesu christi, motherhood is now a service measured in monetary terms.

there is nothing wrong with her spending part of child support money on herself as long as she is doing it to the benefit of the child. ex health bills, nutrition, rent etc.
i challenge u to argue this with me.
ummm child support is for the CHILD, spousal support is what she gets to spend on herself.   The woman might want to consider getting a job to provide for herself rather than living off her kids like a leech.

read this NYT article to get what i'm talking abt. the single mother basically had to choose between work and her child  risking jail time in the process. the point is, you CAN'T DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME BY YOURSELF!!!
That's an exception and not the norm.   most single mothers aren't in the army.

and yes it sounds ridiculous to you because u are a nigerian guy. subject matters like economics of child rearing and housekeeping generally sound like foreign language to u.
you are right, i didn't pay attention in economic class to realize women deserved to get paid for the service of being baby factories. You are going into feminazi territory here.

JeSoul:
As for the Vatican, ask me not, I bother myself little with their activities.
so you do agree some religious people do try to influence of others?

And that's fine with me. Why would anyone willing go to an area full of misguided religious zealots that want to harm you?  huh That's why I have previously recognized that religionists overstep their boundaries atimes leading to violent behavior that has no place in a civilized society.
but what if i was born and raised in zamfara, must i live?   isn't that basically segregation.

But my "absolutist claims" are of no consequence to anyone but myself! what damage does my belief "God did it" have on anyone else? eh? again where is the beef?
there is no beef but you shouldn't be surprised when your claims are met with counter-claims.

Evangelism is done in public . . . but you are never forced to stay back and listen.
but what if i choose to for the fun of it? that's the point of free speech.

Do you have a right to challenge that? NO! Not unless you have an inherent fear of the afterlife that you mask by virulently attacking those who choose to believe the bible.
so is your argument that religious dogma shouldn't be challenged? does that include islamic dogma? do you have an inherent fear of islam?

and here we go with the unending circus again. simply recycling the same battered arguments.

. . . and simply recycling stereotypic falsehood deliberately put forward to justify irrational hate for christianity (often falsely masqueraded as "religions"wink.

so do i have the right to challenge what goes on in the sanctity of your private home? The comments here are just incredulous.
since when were those claims private? I guess evangelism is done in private and never in public.

and yes you do have right to challenge what goes on in my private home. If i was molesting someone in my home, won't it be right for the community to get involved?

Christianity EtcRe: Should Religious Dogma Be Free From Criticism? by bawomolo(m): 8:10pm On Feb 17, 2010
Christian views on homosex and abortion do not affect anyone else but christians. It is not by force to be a christian.
you and I know this isn't true.   The southern bible belt is one of the harshest states when it comes to gay right for a reason.  the Vatican has placed pressure on latin american countries on the issue of gay rights.   Christian views do affect for those who do not believe in separation of church and state.

Anyone who doesn't like what the bible says is free to choose another faith. You cannot force a faith to bend to your own predilections and then claim persecution. Go somewhere else if you don't like it.
I agree but isn't this kind of a support of sharia law.  Hey if you don't like sharia then don't come to zamfara or katsina right?   I hope you are beginning to see how dogma's can lead to hostile behavior (take it or leave it)?

All the perfect coincidences that would've had to occur - in the right sequence - in the right amounts - at the right times
what perfect coincidences? have you heard of something called chaos theory?
such concepts do not seem like perfect coincidences.  man hasn't even roamed a significant portion of the universe to claim its perfect.   Teutonic plates shifting, stars dying, planetary bodies colliding aren't signs of "perfect" coincidences.  One can argue the universe is constantly realigning itself (usually violently as seen in haiti).   doesn't seem like perfection to me.

What model can any mathematician build to accomodate efficiently all those variables? none.
because the universe is chaotic and boundless? there is nothing like a steady state model for the universe.   That doesn't mean we should argue some bearded white dude in the sky did it.  This is where my issue with absolutist views come from.    You begin to make absolutist claims on assumptions (eg - the universe is perfect?) and this should rightfully be criticized.

It's funny how folks are calling for "revenge" from the comfort of their computer screen. countries like congo and rwanda are proof of how "revenge" can spiral out of control.
