NaijaPikinGidi: Wisdom is not bought in the market. Such childish and pathetic grandstanding!! In 2012 alone South Africa spent a whooping $30billion buying crude oil from Nigeria. Yet the same South Africa is the one investing "big money" to explore Shale in the US? Fact is ... while you are busy splashing your hard earned taxpayers money into the porous Shale exploration project, the US will use your same cash to procure more of the sweet Brent Crude from Nigeria to power their economy. More like the US taking from Peter to pay Paul. In any case we earn the cash both ways. South Africa needs to learn so much in fiscal economics from Nigeria. Obama knows where his bread is buttered best ... whether or not he visits Nigeria. Live with it young lad!
Let's quote you again. 100% of your crude oil in South Africa goes to one refinery in Sasolburg - owned 60/40 by Sasol and Total. No taxpayer involvement.

The same Sasol that is burying Nigeria's oil business in US.

South Africa is not a spaza shop like Naai-geria, the ghetto. You've been chewed up and spat out by the US because you sat on your brains for 60 years.

Gone is your money. Smarter nations are taking it.

Rest in peace, aspirant giant that never achieved giant hood!

Dark cloud over 2013 budget as Nigeria loses US crude oil market

By Omoh Gabriel

Last week at the OPEC meeting in Vienna, the Minister of Petroleum resources was reported as expressing concern over China and America sourcing energy from shale oil. Early in the year this column raised alarm over the development. We reproduce this article first published in January 2013 as a reminder that Nigeria should diversify its economy as fast as possible.

NaijaPikinGidi: Did I mention SAEngine? I know what I am talking about so don't try to hoodwink me please! It was SAEngine so far who had the guts to reprimand your Kwame Nkria surrogate for the pile of cut and paste trash that has clogged this thread! Point out the lies and baseless insults any Nigerian debater has told. I am waiting.
Leave Zetdee alone. This is a South African thread. He can say whatever he likes. We own this thread, thanks to all of you.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by BCraig: 3:53am On Jun 22, 2013
NaijaPikinGidi: You may claim you never tried to derail the thread ... would that be the same assertion for the CraigBs, FighterPilots, MsauZAs, DictatorZARs of South Africa? Will that be the same for your surrogates the AwoduaGyans, Kwames, Otumfours and the Ghanaian pack of immigrants in South Africa. You can claim to beat us by talking more trash than sense. Debate ... leave out insults. Simple.
Stop wasting our time with your tears. You were having fun in Agaugust's heyday. Now that he's decea*sed, you want to bore us with your tears.

Rather listen to these words about Sasol in the US:

"This will go a long way towards the goal of making the US energy independent."

"This is the biggest investment in the entire state of Louisiana. We think even the whole country (US). We do not know of anything bigger.

- Lousiana Governor

NaijaPikinGidi: When people focus on the big issues all I see you do is dwell on the low-level things that tickle your delusional fancy! How has Obama's refusal to visit Nigeria subtracted from the normal life or income of the average Nigerian? A much more appropriate question would be ... how has Obama's visit to South Africa helped to provide skyscraper homes for the thousands of squatter camp dwellers living below less $0.50 per day across South Africa? Please get a life or die trying here on Nairaland. You are most welcome.
Sour grapes from Nigerians lost in the middle of a debate.

The point is that the US should not ignore Nigeria, because a lot of your oil goes to the US. But as a testament to your uselessness, the US thinks you are significant. And the best example of that is that Obama has chosen not to go to Nigeria - twice!

The US has used Nigeria. The US has used up Nigeria.

Now that the US has discovered shale gas, the US has spat out Nigeria. That's why you keep getting warnings and instructions from the US. You aren't needed anymore.

By the way, the shale gas that has led to your being considered insignificant, South Africa will benefit from, seeing as we are currently investing big money in US shales. We are showing the US how to make diesel from shale gas.

In other words, we are contributing to your being spat out by the US.

Cry about it, why don cha?

That's what happens when you sit on your brains and talk all day, Naai-ja.

zetdee: Most of the traffic on Nairaland is celebrity and sport related, other than the political section i don't see much intelligence on Nairaland. There're so many SA websites but none ever discuss Nigeria so I don't see what you'll be doing there.
They are crying because they've been hurt. To work out (lack of) intelligence, you only need to look at Nigeria.

End of story.

President Obama Skips Nigeria Again in First Major Africa Trip
By AfricanOutlook Reporter with Agencies

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle will leave on a first African tour next month, visiting Senegal, Tanzania and South Africa, the White House said on Monday, but his itinerary bypasses Kenya, an ancestral homeland, and also leaves out Nigeria contrary to recent speculations in the Nigerian media.

Nigeria: US Trains Nigerian Military On Counter Terrorism
Posted by: Web Admin in News, People November 10, 2011 2 Comments

The United States government has offered to train Nigerian soldiers on how to counter the continued deadly attacks of the B**k& H0r*m sect. The training is expected to equip the Nigerian soldiers on how to tackle the frequent attacks by the group.
In a report by The Guardian of London, military authorities in Nigeria were said to have confirmed that Nigerian soldiers were undertaking trainings in the US.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by BCraig: 12:53am On Jun 22, 2013
Is this why you have a "big" military?

To have your military checkpoints attacked?

You aren't feared in your own country.

____

Students, soldiers killed in Nigerian attacks

(17 June 2013

Suspected extremists attacked a secondary school and military checkpoint in Nigeria’s northeast, leaving 11 people dead including seven students, the military said on Monday.
Details were sketchy and the information could not be independently confirmed. Mobile phone lines have been cut in much of the northeast since the start of a military offensive targeting the extremist group, B*k* H*r7m, on May 15 and access to the area is limited.

Is this why?

ebankole: GIANT?
what has that got to do with the topic now?
Economic well being, peace, prosperity and a nation's military philosophy should be intertwined.

You claim to be a giant, but you aren't. You claim to have a big military. One question: what's the use?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by BCraig: 12:46am On Jun 22, 2013
And the sad part is the US only steals your oil with the left hand, while it trains you with the right. The US then tries to dictate to you on how you should do things. You are hapless.

Lambs to the slaughter, is you.

patriot4: I am comparing Nigeria with world powers such as France, England ans the Brazil and the USA, certainly not with your country. I certainly don't see your military as strong or developped.
When I say military strenght, I mean real military strenght, the kind you can threaten the US with.
Not the kind you can use to send beautifull pictures with.
Nigeria cannot train itself, today. You saw what people said when you posted that link of you guys trying to train yourselves. "Headless chicken", you were called.

This is why the US took it upon itself to train you lot.
