Sports / Liverpool's Possible Line Up by bdnsports(m): 11:20am On Sep 18, 2018
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a late decision whether Firmino will Feature against Ligue1 Champions, PSG. The Brazilian was sent to hospital for tests, which showed an abrasion but no lasting damage, though Klopp admitted in his pre-match press conference that he was unsure if Firmino would be able to play against the Ligue 1 champions.
Firmino has been an important assest in Liverpool's fierce attack and will leave a big void if he is absent, but Klopp has several options to choose from…

LIKE-FOR-LIKE SWAP WITH STURRIDGE

With Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi carrying knocks, Liverpool only have one fit striker to replace Firmino: Daniel Sturridge. The forward has looked useful in his cameos so far this season, and Klopp is supremely confident he will be ready to face PSG. Sturridge’s link play is often undervalued, and while he is not as adept at dropping deep as Firmino, he will still allow Liverpool to stick with the same 4-3-3 system that has worked so well, also allowing Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to break forward.

SALAH THROUGH THE MIDDLE

Rather than bring in Sturridge, Klopp could instead opt to play Xherdan Shaqiri on the right wing and move Salah more central; the Egyptian often drifts through the middle in matches, with Firmino moving wide to cover. However, a front three of Salah, Mane and Shaqiri could lack some of the work rate and pressing that is so characteristic of Liverpool’s play under Klopp, and allow PSG greater control than the German coach would ideally like.

MIDFIELD DIAMOND

Another potential, though somewhat unlikely, option for Klopp would be not to replace Firmino with another attacker at all, and instead add another midfielder to replicate the Brazilian’s link play, work rate and hard pressing. A four-man diamond midfield could stifle and overwhelm PSG in the middle of the pitch and grant Mane and Salah a degree of freedom going forward, though there would be huge demands placed on the full-backs to provide width.

The super eagles of Nigeria will be looking for their first win in Group E when they face the Pirates at Stade Linite, Victoria.

Gernot Rohr has included four uncapped players in his first-squad, including exciting 20-year-old Porto B midfielder Kelechi Nwakali.
Collins Jamilu, Samuel Kalu and Semi Ajayi are also new to the fold. Also, there is plenty of experience to blend the fresh faces.

Sports / What Ramos Has To Say About Salah by bdnsports(m): 11:16am On Sep 08, 2018
The Real madrid defender has faced a constant stream of abuse from Liverpool supporters since his tackle on Salah in the Champions League final wrecked the Reds’ European dreams and derailed the Egyptian’s World Cup adventure. Liverpool supporters became more furious with ramos at the Champions League draw where he was awarded Defender of the Season, and squeezed Salah’s shoulder as he returned to his seat. Salah noticeably ignored Ramos, and the Spanish star might encounter a few angry Liverpool fans when England welcome Spain to Wembley. ‘I’m not really concerned about that,’ Ramos said when asked about the possible reaction towards him from the English crowd. ‘I never wanted to hurt a colleague on the pitch of course, so my conscience is really clear about what I did that night. I’m not going to be affected by that at all. ‘I know the English fans will treat players as they deserve and I’m not worried about that in the slightest.’ England take on Spain in a Nations League game, in their first home match since returning from the World Cup in Russia. Luke Shaw is expected to start on his return to the international set-up, while Marcus Rashford may get the chance to impress in the absence of the injured Raheem Sterling. Spain begin a new era under Luis Enrique after a disappointing World Cup and the retirements of Gerard Pique, David Silva and Andres Iniesta. England have just three victories over Spain in their last 12 meetings, but are on their best ever unbeaten stretch at Wembley having won 14 successive games.
Sports / Why Klopp Was Happy With Alisson's Error by bdnsports(m): 1:08am On Sep 04, 2018
Jürgen Klopp says he is "really happy". Alisson has played a howler against Leicester City because Liverpool "does not have to wait now". The Brazilian goalkeeper, who came from Rome in the summer, was left red-faced after losing a ball on a Cruyff train. Kelechi Iheanacho expropriated Alisson and Assisted Rachid Ghezzal, who Scored trying to bring Leicester back into the game.
However, Alisson's mistake did not cost Liverpool three points and Klopp is glad that the incident took place.

‘He is 0.0 per cent arrogant, but he’s confident and he can do it. It’s like when our centre-halves play passes,’ Klopp said of his £56million shot-stopper. ‘They have to play passes and defend and all that stuff. I don’t look for anyone responsible, the final one was Alisson but we should have cleared the situation before. ‘It wasn’t a situation where you pass the ball back. We make decisions in a second and in a second you realise, “That was the wrong one”.
‘I think that was this situation. To be 100 per cent honest I am really happy it happened, because we don’t have to wait for it now.’
Sports / What Thibaut Courtois Said About Chelsea's Standard by bdnsports(m): 12:59am On Sep 04, 2018
Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has aimed a dig at former club Chelsea by claiming the standard is far higher at the Bernabeu. The Belgian completed a move to the La Liga giants shortly before the transfer window closed for Premier League clubs in August with Chelsea signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao in a record deal as his replacement. Courtois was offered a new long-term deal to stay at Stamford Bridge but told the club he would not sign a new contract as he entered the final year of his deal.
Chelsea fans were angry at the manner of Courtois’ exit and the Belgian’s done little to help relations by claiming the standard in Madrid is higher than it was in London.

‘In training, you see that the level at Real Madrid is high,’ said Courtois. ‘I am now experiencing on a daily basis that Ramos is the best centre-back in the world. The level at Real Madrid is higher than at Chelsea.’

Sports / Pochettino's Message To Mourinho by bdnsports(m): 11:56am On Aug 27, 2018
Mauricio Pochettino has called José Mourinho "inspiration" before Tottenham's visit to Old Trafford on Monday night. Mourinho is under pressure at Manchester United. The mood in the club seems tense as there are rumors of a rift between the manager and Ed Woodward and Paul Pogba. United want to turn their fortunes with a good performance against Spurs after Brighton inflicted an embarrassing defeat on the Red Devils last weekend.
Pochettino could be close to Mourinho, but the Tottenham boss praised his rival before the game.
‘For every single manager who is younger than him, he was an inspiration,’ Pochettino said. ‘For everyone. Of course. I took a lot of things from him. So many things. He is an unbelievable manager.
‘I am younger than him, of course. The circumstances that happen with me, that happen with other managers, they will happen, it is up and down. ‘He is an inspirational manager for a manager like me. ‘I have a very good relationship with ‘Mou’ from when I was a manager of Espanyol and I have full respect for him and the club.’
Pochettino will be hoping his side can stake a claim for their title credentials by beating United, while Mourinho will be desperate to see signs of improvement from his squad. Mourinho warned United fans before the campaign began it would be a very difficult season, after a lukewarm pre-season and a disappointing transfer window.
Sports / Zidane's Decision On Managing Manchester United by bdnsports(m): 12:45am On Aug 25, 2018
Zinedine Zidane has informed close associates that he has plans to manage Manchester United. Jose Mourinho is under intense pressure after a summer of public rowing with Paul Pogba and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. United only brought in Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant in the summer transfer window, despite Mourinho’s desperation to sign a top-class central defender, and a 3-2 defeat to Brighton raised tensions inside the club further still. While Mourinho has no plans to step down from his position as manager, United’s board have already drawn up a list of possible replacements which includes former Real Madrid boss Zidane.
According to The Daily Mail, Zidane has told friends that he expects to receive an offer from United if Mourinho loses his job in the coming months. He’s also made it clear that he is interested in the role should it be made available this season.
‘Why would we discuss him when there is no job available?’ a senior source at United said when discussing the speculation surrounding Zidane. Zidane has been out of a job since leading Madrid to a third successive Champions League title at the end of May. The French icon was earmarked as Didier Deschamps’ potential successor but the side’s World Cup triumph has quashed those rumours.
Paul Ince claimed that Mourinho has turned United into a ‘laughing stock’ following a turbulent start to the season. ‘Other clubs and fans are having a field day at the minute, seeing what is happening at Man United. They’re becoming a laughing stock, and falling behind,’ Ince said.
driving ‘You would never have seen this going on with Sir Alex Ferguson as manager, especially not playing out in public. At Man United, everything from top to bottom is in turmoil, and it shows. ‘Should Mourinho leave? No. Should Man United as a club get their house in order? Absolutely. That’s the whole lot. From the top down, Ed Woodward, Jose Mourinho, Paul Pogba, everything is a total mess.’
Sports / Who Do You Think Is Mourinho's Best Replacement Among The 5listed by bdnsports(m): 10:24pm On Aug 23, 2018
As hostilities in the Premier League enter Week 3 this coming weekend some of Manchester United supporters are still keeping the faith with Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho.
Most fans are not ready to sanction continuity for ex-Chelsea boss as they disagree to agree that he is the immediate solution to the club’s poor run so far.
Already, reports are spilling out daily over acts of discontent among squad members, agents publicly attacking club icons, the club boss at loggerheads with eggheads over transfers, and most importantly, poor performances on the field of play.
Positively or negatively, most of the issues raised above have been linked to Mourinho, who stay at Old Trafford appears to be coming to an end despite the euphoria that spearheaded his arrival.
While the ex-Los Blancos tactician might still reverse the present state of the result at United with unthinkable Premier League silverware, the state of affairs at the English Premier League giants appears to signal the end of Mourinho, barely into his third campaign at Old Trafford.
However, the big puzzle remains who would the Red Devils consider as the savior if Mourinho fails to deliver the goods going forward?
This report thus looks at the 5 most possible managers will the deserved credentials to turn Manchester United around after Mourinho’s exit.

1. Mauricio Pochettino
The Spurs manager has become a broken new ground in the English Premier League after breaking into the top four on a limited budget.
The Argentine’s attacking philosophy clearly meets Manchester United attitudes and aspirations and has shown his ability towards developing and improving young talent, which Old Trafford supporters will gladly welcome.
But the tactics that would be employed by United’s chieftains to prise Pochettino from North London to Manchester remains to be seen.

2. Zinedine Zidane
The Los Blancos legend and ex-boss who also doubles as bookies top choice to take over the managerial role from Mourinho is Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman claimed three consecutive Champions League trophies with Real Madrid as at the Santiago Bernabéu, and is a name that the club’s eggheads as well as supporters would fancy to be the club’s boss.
The legend is well respected and appreciated for his man-management expertise and has been termed the ‘ideal candidate’ to succeed Mourinho by club icon Lee Sharpe.

3. Ryan Giggs
Former club ace Ryan Giggs could take up the mantle at Old Trafford if Jose Mourinho’s quits.
The current Wales manager worked as a player-coach under David Moyes and took charge after his exit during the final four games of the 2013/14 campaign.
In addition Giggs worked as number two to Louis Van Gaal during his unsuccessful stint at the club.
Naming Giggs at this point as club boss would be a big risk due to managerial inexperience at the top and might damage his existing relationship United supporters.

4. Laurent Blanc
The Frenchman was a member of the France squad that claimed the 1998 World Cup but is not a popular face with the United fans.
Blanc may not be successful in the Champions League with PSG, but he still won three French Ligue 1 trophies during his 36 months stay in the French capital.
Already, the 52-year-old is familiar with the likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and other squad members after a playing and coaching career at the top level.

5. Antonio Conte
Ex-Chelsea Italian manager Antonio Conte presently ranks as the most unpopular candidate to land Mourinho’s job but the former Juve boss is the immediately available choice to have won the Premier League.
The Italian at the last count has three Serie A titles on his CV and was able to impact positively at Chelsea was a three backline that saw him claim the Premier League title in his first season.
However, the manner he left Chelsea, criticising the club’s transfer policy, will no doubt pose a concern to Old Trafford chiefs because that is exactly what’s that are currently fighting, with Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, we previously had reported that Manchester United have received a huge boost after the pair of Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia returned to full training.
According to a UK Mirror report, both Matic and Valencia are likely to face Tottenham in the Premier League on Monday at Old Trafford after the pair left the club’s US tour early last month with various injury problems.

Sports / Alan Shearer Names The Best Foreign Player In The Premier League by bdnsports(m): 10:17pm On Aug 23, 2018
Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has said that Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero is the best foreign player in the Premier League history.
Aguero signed for City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and has scored 146 goals for the Premier League champions so far.
The Argentine international scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 thumping against Huddersfield Town in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.
Aguero’s treble against Town saw him move into the EPL’s top 10 all-time scoring list.
Shearer, who is currently the EPL’s highest goal scorer with 260 goals, said Aguero is more prolific than any overseas player.
“He [Aguero] was deadly again,” Shearer told Premier League’s official website.
“He’s now on nine Premier League hat-tricks and only two behind me.
“The best foreign player to play in the Premier League. A great centre-forward with no weaknesses,” he said.
Aguero’s goals have fired City to three Premier League titles and a trio of EFL Cups.
He won the Premier League Golden Boot award at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Sports / Player Who Scored 9goals In 29minutes by bdnsports(m): 10:11pm On Aug 23, 2018
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo step aside the hottest striker in world football at the moment is China’s “Nine-Goal Diva” Wang Shanshan. She scored 9 goals in 29 minutes at the ongoing Asian Games.
Wang earned that nickname from Chinese fans and media when after coming off the bench in a 16-0 demolition of Tajikistan on Monday at the Asian Games in Indonesia.
The forward has found the net a total of 11 times, netting in the 7-0 opening victory over Hong Kong and adding a soaring header as China’s women beat formidable North Korea 2-0 on Wednesday to top their group and make the quarter-finals in style.
China’s free-scoring women, yet to concede a goal, are being feted back home and 28-year-old Wang, in particular, is making headlines for her astonishing prowess in front of goal.
There have been tongue-in-cheek suggestions that she could be the answer to the goal-scoring problems of the Chinese men.
Wang’s sizzling form is all the more surprising because prior to the past week she was hardly prolific, although she did catch eyes by scoring a backheel volley against South Korea last year — the kind of exquisite strike that Messi and Ronaldo would be proud of.
She currently plies her trade in China’s little-noticed domestic women’s league. “For the past three group matches, Wang Shanshan scored 11 goals and became Chinese women’s football’s talisman,” China’s Tencent Sports said in an online article.
“In more crucial tournaments, Wang Shanshan will become the key player in helping the women’s team win gold.”
Against the North Koreans, midfielder Wang Shuang, who recently signed for Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team, opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finishing off a fluid passing move.
“China’s women really have the chance to win the gold medal. The team is blessed to have Wang Shuang and Wang Shanshan in this era,” said one fan on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter.
China’s evening ended on a sour note, however, after substitute Zhao Rong was sent off at the end and coach Jia Xiuquan followed her for complaining to officials.
China’s men play Saudi Arabia in the last 16 on Friday at the Asian Games, although they have struggled for goals in international football in recent times.

Sports / Madrid To Make Surprise Move For PSG Star And It Is Not Neymar by bdnsports(m): 8:53am On Aug 23, 2018
Real Madrid is still working on a marquee signing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and believes they have a chance to sign Kylian Mbappe before the window closes, reportedly. The Spanish giants have made the surprising decision to accept an £ 88m offer for Ronaldo £ 88m earlier this summer, but not to replace it on the transfer market - with Gareth Bale at the start of the season.
But the Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Madrid is preparing a move for Mbappe if PSG violates Financial Fair Play.
The French side has until Monday to exercise the 160 million pounds purchase option in Mbappes contract after it was originally borrowed from Monaco. UEFA must resolve PSG's FFP situation by 30 August, and if they break the rules, they may not be able to sign Mbappe - or be forced to sell it, as soon as they potentially trigger their call option at a profit.
Real President Florentino Perez is already ready to switch for Mbappe, should that be the case, although Madrid could only have 24 hours to complete a record for the club. Thibaut Courtois is the biggest new signing that Real has made this summer, while she has also recruited Alvaro Odriozola and Vinicius Junior in big bucks.
But Mbappe is the player Perez really wants, and the club believes he could lead his attack for the next decade. The Frenchman, who was voted best young player at the World Cup, has already scored two goals for PSG in Ligue 1 this season, while scoring 13 goals and scoring eight assists in just 24 starts last year.
Sports / Former Manchester United Star Predicts When Jose Mourinho Would Be Sacked by bdnsports(m): 8:56am On Aug 21, 2018
Former Manchester United striker Lee Sharpe expects José Mourinho to be released at Christmas for growing unrest at Old Trafford. The Portuguese tactician was frustrated in the preseason after Deputy Chairman Ed Woodward failed to reach some important transfer targets. Mourinho was furious that the club was unable to find a new center-back and United played a defensive horror show against Brighton to claim their first defeat on Sunday. After the 3-2 draw against Chris Hughton's team, Sharpe explained why he was so unfazed by Mourinho's prospects this season.
And he expects Mourinho to lose his job before the turn of the year.
Sharpe told Sky Sports:

‘I am expecting the manager to get sacked before Christmas.
‘If he is going to continue with this dourness and this moaning, then people will turn around and say this attitude is not getting us to the top so we need to change it. ‘It just seems same old same old. As much as the press and fans have been on Jose Mourinho’s case about the negativity over the past few seasons and him moaning about players he has and has not got, he just seems to ignore everybody and carry on as usual. ‘He looks fed up and it is reflecting in his team’s performances. He is playing negative stuff.

Pogba was given the captain's armband When they face and defeated the foxes on Friday. Pogba's performance made many supporters had hoped

Mourinho was furious with the comments after stretching out an olive branch to the midfielder and he believes that Pogba threw the good will back into the sun's face.

The pair is said to have collided with Mourinho and told Pogba that if he wants to leave the club, he should "submit" another transfer request.

Mourinho clearly referred to Pogba's decision to leave United 2012 for Juventus when he felt he did not have enough playing time by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The couple's relationship is now deepest since Pogba returned to the club. The Frenchman is said to have even told Mourinho that he should communicate with him via his agent Mino Raiola.

Mourinho blames Raiola for much of the speculation surrounding Pogba and wants the midfielder to sack his agent.

Pogba's frayed relationship with Mourinho dates back to last February, when he was dropped for a clash against Sevilla in the Champions League.

Mourinho had the perfect chance to heal his relationship with Pogba after his fantastic performances for France in the World Cup, but instead he looked out for the midfielder, suggesting he has to do more to produce such shows at Old Trafford.

United will not sell Pogba, whether or not it submits a transfer request.
Sports / Unai Emery Believes His Players Have Too Much Fat In Them by bdnsports(m): 12:27am On Aug 17, 2018
Unai Emery believes that several members of his arsenal team are wearing too much fat and ordered them to continue running during the games.

The successor to Arsene Wenger is trying to realize a new energetic, pressing style that has been particularly successful for him when he led Sevilla and Paris Saint-German.

The Daily Express claims that the Spaniard has set stringent goals for his innovative performance team and believes his players will lose an average of 1.3kg of fat and need to consume an average of 760m per man per game.

Emery is also said to be hit by Arsenal's historic injury record and wants to be able to choose from a virtually full-fledged squad, but suffered some early setbacks in this regard as both Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac were out for at least six weeks ,

Arsenal's season started surprisingly on Sunday after goals from Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva helped Manchester City win 2-0 at the Emirates.

Emery's team travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday for the London derby against Chelsea to recover from their first defeat at the weekend.

Alexandere Lacazette started against City, but striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hopes that the French international sooner or later returns to the starting eleven.

‘We really get on well,’ Aubameyang told ESPN. ‘There is a spark between us when we are both on the pitch together.

‘We look for each other, we saw it [on Sunday.

‘We still need some time to adapt to the new manager and to integrate the new players. It is hard to test ourselves in a first game like this against City because they are so strong.

‘We have to stay positive, work on the things we did well and improve on the rest. We will have a better idea next weekend after the Chelsea game. The message of the new coach is all about showing character, to put a lot of intensity, play high up the pitch and implement a big pressing. ‘That’s the style we will play this season.’
Sports / Why Welbeck Could Be Arsenal's Left Back Against Manchester City by bdnsports(m): 7:25am On Aug 12, 2018
Unai Emery has hinted that Danny Welbeck could serve as substitute left-back against Manchester City on Sunday. Arsenal will miss Sead Kolasinac, who suffered a ligament injury in the knee in the preseason against Chelsea, while Nacho Monreal returned to training this week. Summer signing Stephan Lichtsteiner and youngster Ainsley Maitland Niles, who played the left-back last season, may be tasked with taming City's winger Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane, but Emery revealed Welbeck as an unlikely challenger.
‘Danny has multi-position possibilities – right winger, left winger, striker,’ said Emery. ‘And, yesterday, he worked with us at left back. His performance was good!
‘I like this positive spirit to help. I’ve said to him I want the best performance in his career, with better quality and data – more goals, more assists.’ Welbeck, who has just under a year remaining on his current contract, was heavily linked with a transfer away from Arsenal this summer but a move has yet to materialise. Southampton and Everton were the Premier League clubs credited with an interest, while Besiktas were also linked with the England international who could still leave for a European side before the August 31st deadline.

Sports / Funny Events At Chelsea As Players Resume Preseason Training Against Conte's Ord by bdnsports(m): 10:35pm On Jul 07, 2018
It was seen that several Chelsea stars returned to pre-season on Saturday as opposed to the wishes of Antonio conte. Despite facing the sack issues , The Times claimed earlier this week that conte emailed the players to resume training on Monday in preparation for the next campaign . A directive was sent to those players who did not participate in the World Cup requesting that they should resume training today, but Conte is said to have reacted angrily and asked for the start of pre-season training to begin on Monday , reminding his staff that he is still their boss.
Chelsea published pictures of Cesc Fabregas, Marcos Alonso and Alvaro Morata among others participating in stretching and running exercises on their official website, but refused to offer any update on Conte’s position, or even clarify if he had attended the session.

Conte still stand his ground that he will not walk away from his role at Chelsea despite a relationship gone bitter with the club’s board. The Italian coach is keen to take a sabbatical, and his £9m pay-off, but Chelsea cannot sack Conte until they have struck a deal for Maurizio Sarri; the former Napoli boss is already believed to be consulting the club about transfer targets.

Spain legend Andres Iniesta has confirmed his retirement from international football after his country was eliminated by Russia out of the World Cup . The midfielder's dream to retire with a world cup win to finish his Spain career was denied.

‘This was my last game for Spain,’ Iniesta told reporters. ‘A marvellous spell is over. Sometimes the end is not as you dreamed it. ‘It’s bad, it’s tough. It’s a difficult moment, one we have been through on various occasions — we weren’t capable of going that little bit extra. ‘The critics don’t matter so much; we are angry because we weren’t capable of taking another step and we didn’t rise to the occasion, despite trying everything.

‘On a personal level, it wasn’t my dream farewell, but these things happen in life.’ Iniesta scored the World Cup-winning goal in extra time back in 2010, and also played an integral part in both the Euro-winning sides in 2008 and 2012. The 34-year-old also departed Barcelona this summer following their La Liga win, opting to play for Japanese side Vissel Kobe instead.

Sports / Lukaku Told Referee Not To Award Him A Penalty In Their Match Against Tunisia by bdnsports(m): 10:41am On Jun 24, 2018
Manchester United and Belgium Striker Romelu Lukaku expressed the personality of sincerity inside of him by instructing referee Jair Marrufo not to award him a penalty during Belgium’s match against Tunisia. The referee, already awarded Belgium a penalty in the 6th minute,a decision vindicated by VAR, following a foul on Eden Hazard by Syam Ben Youssef. Hazard scoring the penalty gave Belgium the lead over Tunisia that was soon doubled by Lukaku, who converted a Dries Mertens pass with an accurate finish. Romelu lukaku should have scored again in the 27th minute when he was set free by Kevin de Byune but his first touch on was poor which made the ball run away from him. Lukaku attempted to redeem the situation by dribbling around the advancing goalkeeper but fell to the floor under the challenge of Farouk Ben Mustapha.

Instead of appealing for a penalty, the belgian stood up and refused to put any blame on his opponent who tackled him. His actions were in stark contrast those of Brazil superstar Neymar who dived to win a penalty in Friday’s match against Costa Rica, only for VAR to come to their rescue. Lukaku was rewarded for his honesty shortly before half time with another goal, his fourth of the tournament in total, as he drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot.
