PoliticsRe: Northerners Are Calling President Tinubu OTP by bdon123(m): 9:27pm On Jul 30, 2024
SadiqBabaSani:
Some Northerners seem to have an ulterior motives for the protest.

They are tagging Mr President with

OTP- One Time President.

Let it be known that the proposed protest must be restricted to reversing policies that brought hardship which I believe this government is listening to Nigerians

Anyone Northerner or otherwise who have other ideas should perish it, because if TINUBU stabilize this wicked inflation and bring down price of PMS, he has his 8years straight up.
We all don't mind

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Refineries Buying Crude Oil In Naira Changes Nothing by bdon123(m): 12:01pm On Jul 30, 2024
MossadAgent:
Illiterate.

At 600k bpd, the govt can use Dangote refinery to mop up excess printed liquidity from the system.

At $80 and an exchange rate of #1,500, a barrel of crude will go for #120,000. Multiply that with the projected daily processing capacity of 600k bpd that stands at #72bn. Multiply that for a typical long term 30 day order and that translates to #2 Trillion naira monthly and for a year #24 Trillion.

The govt can use just this sales to Dangote refinery to mop up excess liquidity in the system printed from thin air by Emefile .

And when you consider that Dangote will eventually sell most of that refined stock in dollars to neighbouring African countries that will be paid through the CBN, you have a major FX earner for the country and a means to reduce inflation caused by too much money in circulation.
Well said...this people don't understand shit.Dangote is based in Nigeria meaning d whole fx he earns comes to cbn.People forget dangote refinery has capacity to handle half of africa.most countries in west africa will rather buy frm dangote than import frm europe as d high cost of tp will reduce.

MasterJayJay:
Use import duty as an example. Importers pay import duties in naira. But the cost is determined at the current naira-dollar exchange rate.

Dangote will buy crudeoil from NNPC with naira at the current naira-dollar exchange rate.

This won't make petrol cheaper.
It depends on how cheap FG sells to dangote at d end of d day

PoliticsRe: This Is What Dangote Has Been Doing With All His Billions by bdon123(m): 4:38pm On Jul 29, 2024
LocalStandard1:
We might have noticed that since Dangote was blackmailed by that American hook up lady, he seems to have discovered something. The power of the media and the effectiveness of propaganda.

You might have noticed that Dangote is giving more interviews, is increasing his presence in social media spaces and his name and face has been popping up since a very few years now. And more "influencers" and content creators are doing more videos and documentaries about him. It seems to be paying off as we have seen even with the very popular protests against him by the Kogi State residents and his controversies with the State's government, Dangote didn't receive any condemnations and backlash from the Nigerian public. Instead, he only seems to grow in popularity and good will with Nigerians.

Not even Bill gates has or would have ever survived what Dangote has done and is doing without outrightly being jailed, as it almost happened before he stepped down as the Microsoft Chair to focus on his "philanthropy" (just another money making scheme). But Dangote is only getting started!

Nigeria is no where close to having a single individual being so wealthy as Dangote. Nigeria with a population of well over 200 million people, and a GDP of a meager 270+ billion dollars can not have one person holding 5-7% of the nation's entire wealth. This is a big problem waiting to happen and no one with little understanding will say Dangote got to where he is soley or even to a greater extent just by being so hardworking or too intelligent.

Dangote, as we have seen, does not do anything in the slightest to make the lives of the average Nigerian better in any way. Dangote doesn't even pay Kogi State their share of the resources he extracts from them to enrich himself. No country in the world would tolerate such a person, such a person that doesn't give back in any way to the citizens aside donating to politicians for campaigns. But is holding an entire part of the nation's sector to ransom with his overpriced commodities produced in the same country.

Being the "richest Black man and African" does not improve the lives of anyone anywhere!

His refinery will not make the lives of anyone better, he just wants the same leeway and complete freedom to take over and control the petroleum arena the same way he did in the construction areas and partly the food industry.

Even corporations-based countries like South Korea would not tolerate characters like Dangote, while not even seeing real benefits to the citizens like easier access and cheaper goods, safety and job opportunities.

So instead of Dangote to put more effort and resources to make things easier for Nigerians and commodities cheaper so that his actions and contributions can speak louder, he is putting exponential resources into propaganda, brainwashing and especially personality worship. Which are effective ways to get the average Nigerian worshipping, in suffering, while even the North itself is deep in unimaginable poverty, illiteracy and homelessness.
So dangote is now ur government n d source of ur poverty?its a poor man mentality to tink d rich is responsible for his suffering

That statement you made ! Subsidy.
You want us to transfer the petrol subsidy to crude oil subsidy.

That will not work, we are trying to get rid of subsidy.
Crude Oil market is standard all over the world.
USA has 130 refineries, they do not have any oil subsidy.
One Dangote refinery will not bring down petrol prices, in Nigeria.
Nigeria cannot sell crude subsidize, where are they going to get money to pay salary and pension. Even now they sell all the crude abroad, we still have to borrow from IMF and world bank.
We are subsidizing in USD rite now n our exchange rate is shit.better subsidized in naira locally here n save alot on fx.

U will never enjoy ur nation's common wealth without subsidy in a country like nigeria ..the money not paid to subsidize essential goods or services like health care or education will only be embezzled through dirty palliatives, fake grants to poor families and their usual inflated cost projects like using 600billion dollars to build bridge of 400million dollars
Yes there is no super nation that doesn't subsidized.ours is more of a problem of border control as our products end up in other countries

Bros we are paying subsidy heavily whether i like it or not.price of landing petrol in naija is around 1100 n it sells around 700....that is 400 naira subsidy.dont forgot petrol is priced in usd not naira so d more exchange rate drops d higher d price of petrol

That doesnt solve the problem, if you are asking them to subsidize crude oil to Dangote.
We are still paying subsidy. As long as we are paying subsidy, whether its imported petrol or crude oil to Dangote. Nothing will change.
Nobody is yet to explain how Dangote refinery will make petrol cheaper.
Dangote refinery will sell expensive fuel because he has to pay back loans he used to build his refinery.
I am sure Dangote refinery will sell petrol even more expensive than importation.
Dont forget he is still a newcomer to the refinery world. He is a refinery virgin.
He has to learn a lot before he becomes an expert.
There is no such thing as refinery virgin.yes he will probably sell higher that current rate except FG sells him crude at subsidized rate.dont forget we paying subsidy on imported product wit USD.Its better to subsidize for dangote via any means be it reduced tax or reduce price of crude so his wnd product becomes cheaper. At d end of d day d refinery is a business n they wont run on loss . however,we can pay n collect product in naira which will ease pressure on our currency n also guarantee us quality premium fuel frm dangote refinery not d current garbage dey all import at octane 75

Dumb youths who cannot understand price of product must be higher than price raw material i.e crude which is priced in USD.
D only way out is to sell at crude at maybe a subsidized rate as Nigeria is already paying subsidy in USD to keep price of petrol at current price

Look at these illiterates mentioning competition!! Where is the competition? The oil importation that we have been trying to stop for about 60 years is now the competition to local refineries? Let's tell the illiterate Arewa youths that importation can never be regarded as competition to local production.

Arewa youths are mostly illiterates, I don't expect them to understand how Tinubu is undermining the success of 20 billion dollars investment just to protect his blending plants in Malta and to keep the business of oil importation from Malta going smoothly.

Marketers can't buy from dangote because there is no how dangote can sale for ₦1100

And there is no how marketers can buy ₦1100 when price is ₦600 to ₦800

So only NNPC can buy and sale at a loss ( AKA subsidy of ₦700)

Do you need any more proof we pay subsidy?
We hav never really stopped paying subsidy.exchange rate is poor to dollar therefore d real price pf pms is around 1100

All those people shouting Dangote refinery is going to make prices cheaper.

"He plans to sell at international rates, meaning government will buy it expensive from him and subsidized it for the citizens."

He is a 100% Businessman.
Dont let them drag you into their challenges.
These people dont care about us.
Yes its very correct he cant buy crude at international rate n sell less.Right now,d cost of landing petrol in Nigeria is more than 1000 naira.d current price is been subsidized by government even though they are denying.
Same way, nigeria will hav to sell crude to dangote at subsidized rate to enable him sell product cheaper.dont forget there is also cost of transportation by ship for this products imported into d country.las las it will be hard for dangote to sell below d current price as our exchange to a dollar is terrible n he is buying in dollars.i tink d only government will gain frm dangote refinery is better quality fuel n savings on fx as they could buy products in naira.
