Some people in diaspora like to set fire over here. Even during Jonathan, the NEW YORK & UK influence on the media was too much and they were aiming for civil war. Now with their dollar exchange rate power, their influence even greater. Ordinary $500 can move mountains.
How can you leave Nigeria and you can't face your front and keep looking back at Nigeria?
EdgeUp: Cutting your nose to spite your face is dumb! Policies are made based on interests and facts, not emotions. When you have sufficient leverage, you can choose to flex your muscle.
My point exactly! It is Nigerians that will suffer it (to and from). If there are no more direct flights to the UK, it is Nigerians that will need to pay extra to go to nearby countries to join connecting flights.
You pay for a service and get it. Yet, you say they are not giving you anything. Understand this, British airways DOES NOT need Nigeria to continue to be successful. UAE just lifted the ban on Nigerians after two years of extensive lobbying (begging), companies are leaving your country wilfully and in droves, airlines have suspended travelling the Nigerian route without flinching etc
Nigerians need to understand their current reality and drop the stupid pride and arrogance.
My point exactly, now is the time Nigeria has leverage.British economy is in shambles rite now....how many prime Ministers hav been replaced within 10years alone? This is a bilateral air agreement not like we are asking for something new.we both need each other rite now
Tellmeastory: Must he visit London before he can reason like a man?
Many guys here reasoning correctly haven’t been to London.
Many guys that are reasoning incorrectly havent been out of Nigeria so they dont understand or desire their country to work. Uk is always extorting us n right now they need money badly....their economy is failing.
MrEverest: You obviously don’t know how tribal politics are played in Nigeria. Tinubu can’t fight Dangote with yoruba persons in his government. He will definitely use a fellow northerner to divert attention. It’s same way he will also use a fellow Igbo man to fight Igbos or Igbo interests.
Tinubu is sabotaging Dangote badly for his own selfish interests and greed.
Keyamo, if you give British Airways Ilorin as you've suggested, it is still Nigerians that will suffer it. Virtually all the states fly to Lagos but not all states fly to Ilorin. Put in another way, all airlines fly to Lagos (sometimes multiple times a day) but, not all airlines fly to Ilorin (for connecting flights) and terminal destination.
First, it is a travesty for you to compare British Airways (and its OneWorld alliance) with Airpeace and its leased planes. Second, what other options are available? Lastly, I stand by my initial position - Nigerians will suffer it more.
Can you compare the number of Nigerians seeking to travel to the UK against the number of Britons seeking to visit Nigeria?
So u tink it is britons dat occupu d flight from london to Lagos?smh. Oga british airways needs Lagos route.nigerians really goto london alot.uk government like collecting from us n giv us nothing in return....they are so selfish .we must all make money together
Festus is doing a gud job so far.make our aviation eviable to investors so more airlines would spring up like air peace n begin flying to western nations capital .
licnsai: When they will ban air peace totally from UK maybe their eyes will clear.
British airways need Lagos Nigeria more than air peace needs Gatwick.dont forget air peace in paying heavy tax to nigeria so d more money they make nigeria makes. U seem to be very scared wit a slave mentality.i feel u hav never been to london thats why u dey reason this way
MrEverest: Any adult who was born in the 1980’s or earlier knows how Northern Nigeria used to control Nigeria. In fact, whenever they coughed, the rest of the country would catch cold. But today, North has become a sorry mess. They’ve lost virtually everything. From politics to industry, agriculture etc. The only bragging rights they had left, which is Dangote, Tinubu has also gone after him. It’s really unbelievable seeing Dangote suffering in the hands of Tinubu and his men without any form of support or fight back from the North. Dangote is richest Blackman and Nigeria’s biggest investor yet they’re treating him like a nobody. To the point of threatening his multi billion dollars assets!
I bet you, if Dangote was to be an Igbo man or even Ijaw man, his people would have backed him ferociously. Dangote is to the Northzz a, what Innoson is to the East. Any attack on these great men should be seen as an injury to all. Is there anything Tinubu is using to blackmail North? Has Northern Nigeria reached a dead end where it can’t help itself anymore?
The list of Northern casualties Tinubu is decimating keeps growing by the day. The ironical part of it is that some Northerners continue to sulk it up while others even defend. One thing has become clear, North is no longer what it used to be, they’ve declined terribly in all aspects.
U are talking nonsense.d midstream regulator md that wrongly accused dangote refinery of producing low quality product is frm where?wen will u people understand that there is no north or south wen it comes to sucking my naija dry by elites.igbos n northerners are part of d oil cabal in naija....they all do it at detriment of Nigeria.
frog12: so if dangote 650k refinery get operation before warri and ph refinery, e no go corner everything with multi-year contracts?
you know why he build the refinery with big capacity?
Ph n kaduna refinery can never work....d quicker u understand this.NNPC is not experienced enough to run any refinery. Moreover, even if d refinery worked...the efficiency will ne so poor as it was built too long ago.Wat u should clamour for is nigeria to build new refineries...forget d old ones.
Oil cabals in nigeria are fighting back.Im everything u mentioned,u didnt touch on why upstream regulator accused DR of producing low quality diesel wit 1500 sulphur. Look mr man,i hav been in oil and gas for over 12years plus i hav msc in oil and gas management....u writeup is garbage n an attempt to twist d truth.most petrol n diesel imported into naija market are rejected grade no allowed in europe.
Dagger111: All these Nyamiris sef, una go just come online and guessing someone's tribe wrongly. For your info, i am a bonafide Yoruba boy. Omo Yoruba nimi oo.
Dagger111: Abeg why is it that NANS(National Association of Nigerian Students) excos are always old men of around age 30-40yrs? Do you mean these guys are still students in the universities cos i don't understand...These same NANS' excos drive exotic cars with special custom plate numbers, students faa, La'illah.
Members that their fellow mates have graduated decades ago and now consultants in their various professions. I'm not getting the logic, maybe someone should enlighten me, pls - Dagger. 👏🏽
Mynd44, Lalasticlala, Odewale and Seun, pls push this to Front-page, i need to learn more about that group called NANS, Abeg.
U are not happy they refused to protest.i tink u are a northerner.wen d rest of d country wanted to prostest for gud reasons,u guys distanced urself becos of religion. Now d whole youths im d country that even wanted to protest chose to stand down becos na una initiate am.wat goes around comes around
Thewrath: you won’t hear pim from bayo onanuga and his fellow minions on nairaland..first the north wrote letter seeking permission, now they are mobilizing, but some people are more worried about obidients who don’t give a bleeping hoot if/when the protest holds!! than a Fulani with AK47 rifle.
D fear of d north syndrome.always powerless n unable to speak once d north is involved
DSS that is known for lies....we no dey bliev those ones again.Same DSS that said emefiele is terrorist sponsor n till date jav never proven it lol.funny people
Malista: By the special Grace of the Almighty God, I can beat my chest and tell you that I'll be a part of the potential nationwide protest come August 1st. I have never in my entire existence joined any protest before, but this time, I will.
The hardship in this country is terrible. It is saddening and disheartening, to say the least. Nigeria, currently isn't friendly to the poor and the havenots. Right from age 9 when I lost my parents till date, I have never had it easy in life. At times, I feel like God hates me and doesn't want me to be financially successful in life. Everything about my life is all struggle struggle and struggle. Relatives took advantage of my predicament and showed me shege while I lived with them. As I am right now, nothing about life shakes me anymore. I'm no longer scared of death cos I've seen a lot in this life. I don't care if the police shoots at any protester. Even if I get killed while protesting, I'll be happy to have been matyred for the salvation of Nigerians. I believe everything is an sacrifice. One must die for others to live, and if I be the one to die, then so be it. After all, what is life when you don't know where your next meal is coming from? When u don't have a family to lean on? When you're not loved and cared for?
Visitors should stop disturbing the peace and progress of S.W.
Anyone caught will be made to pay for his actions and also face the consequence.
Lol visitors...u are clearly an illiterate.A Nigerian cannot be a visitor in any Nigerian state n yes i wont protest becos i am eating well as d economy of nigeria is not tied to my income.however,i do not support d masses to protest if they are hungry instead of dying of hunger.
The Protest isnt even the issue but it sounds like there is an ulterior motive behind it
Seen countless Twitter spaces where some people were spitting venom and threatening to walk through fire like Shadrack
If thats the case, then Is support the military in this, cause the Army stays back and we continue to retaliate every hit, na that Anarchy go later happen
God bless the NA
No army in d world ever fought it civilian population n survived.D army knows this.everyone is scared abt dprotest becos they dont want it to degenerate into change of government.
D way this bastarda pretend like nothing is happening in Nigeria surprises me.How can this bastard claim he dont know wat nigerians want.Nigerians are dying of starvation...watis there to understand.
SpatialKing: How do you accommodate citizens of Nigeria in their own country...
How do you call Nigerians visitors in their own country
If you don't want Nigerians in Lagos form your own country
This statement baffles me everytime.Only in Nigeria will a state claim to accommodate a full blooded Nigerian citizen.tribalism can make one loose common sense
Antitankweapon: Enough of pampering Dangote by successive govts. Enough please. He has become an entitled spoilt child always running to FG. He is NOT the only industrialist in Nigeria. Enough of pampering Dangote please. See examples.
A) Innoson competes with car importers B) ProForce competes with imported MRAPS B) Air Peace competes with foreign airlines C) Transcorp competes with foreign owned E) Banks compete with foreign banks F) FMCG companies compete with importers
Dangote is not the only industrialist in Naija.
Every business should compete. Sometimes, imports might be cheaper for consumers. Dangote cement and sugar are more expensive than imported ones.
Dangote used a BAN on cement and sugar to destroy other Nigerian companies. Ibeto cement and Nigercem were destroyed by Dangote, thousands of jobs lost and cement price skyrocketed. Thanks to OBJ & Buhari.
Also, Dangote's persistent war with BUA is a pointer to the RISKS of granting his wishes.
As Dangote's refinery is home based, he has lots of advantages over importers. He should be able to offer cheaper quality fuel and win the market. Why is he looking for a BAN to destroy other companies that have supplied fuel before his refinery.
U are a fool.wen did dangote ever demand a ban to imported products.every idiot will jst type nonsense
