Amidst the saga regarding the refineries, business man Alico has during a press conference stated that imported substandard fuel is damaging fuel in the country.

He said this as a response to why he his lowering the price of diesel which he currently produces (some hinting that is a substandard).

He said most senators are already experiencing that damaged that this substandard products are causing Nigerian, a problem his refinery will provide solution to.

I drive a benz n it pains me each time i buy fuel at filling stations as wat i get is low standard petrol.Benz n other luxury cars like Ferrari requires at leat octane rating of 91 while Nigeria is importing below 75...a fuel that is rejected in europe n UsA.This is exactly d reason why na only toyota n Honda get second hand value.Toyota n Honda were built to accept low quality petrol as their target was mainly 3rd world countries.

From 1999-2024 the Federal government has spent more than twice as much the amount Dangote used in building his refinery as maintenance (turn around maintenance) on the government owned refineries. Why aren’t these refineries working today?

And the federal government is now talking of monopoly?

Let me use this opportunity to commend Mr. President for the various reforms introduced by his Administration which have enabled States and FCT to invest massively in NG-CARE thereby producing this outstanding result.

Also, worthy of commendation are the State Governors and Honourable Minister, FCT for their commitment to investing in and building resilience among poor and vulnerable Nigerians using the NG-CARES Programme.

NG-CARES is one of the social Protection Programme implemented in the tents of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of Mr. President and a cornerstone economic resilience and sustainability among the poor and vulnerable in underserved communities in Nigeria.

U are very ignorant.i am an oil and gas expert wit an msc in oil an gas management.Say monopoly or not.there is no one in nigeria that will ever build d size of refinery dangote did.Reason being refineries around d world are build close to source of crude.Dangote trying to import west texas index crude fro uSa will never giv d nigerian market cheap products except if his source is Nigeria or west africa.That being said,dont forget d refinery was built after agreement that its source of crude will be Nigeria.plus for over 30 years we hav been importing rejected quality pms around d world bt dangote now already promised 2 diff fuel grades of 85 octane n 91 octane for premium vehicles.U really hav no clue do u?

I don't see Dangote as an advantage or a disadvantage given that the man is in business for his pocket and that of his shareholders. Nigerians and the Nigerian people are customers and will not get any preferential treatment in any of this.

Even if he colonizes the entire market, it will all still be for his pocket and his shareholders. Government does not regulate the price, rather what it does is subsidize it where it deems it as a severe disadvantage to the people. For example, you pay Naira 750 today for fuel because the government subsidizes the cost, not because the fuel is that cheap. The real cost of the same product, before subsidy, could very well be about Naira 1400 per liter. So? 🤔

U dnt understand wat m saying.Petrol is sold for 750 in places like kaduna.if dangote wants to kii competition n supply over 80% of d petrol in d country...his price at d pump needs to go lower than NNPC 615 ...meaning d most dangote will go to be profitable is 550 or something if hes too greedy.whether u like it or not dangote refinery is more of an advantage than disadvantage.plus his product has more quality than d garbage we hav been getting for years.i am an oil n gas expert wit over 12 years experience in d industry
