My friend, i studied in Texas and lectured for 3 years before i was required to come back here due to our lodge yearly programs that needed my presence to function. My younger brother (family last born), who is a web developer works at Tik-tok (a foreign company in the US) and he's required to have a US bank account in order to receive salary also, if you want to receive yours in another currency, the fee and tax cut is almost half of your salary (that's the force). Just in case you don't know, Tik-tok in the US may soon be forced to sell its company to a US company. You can force any foreign company to open a Naira account for all their staff required to work in Nigeria. In the case where you can't force them, they have to pay in Naira and have the ACH convert it to their account at high cost.

Thats for a us company....everyone knows theres some sort of dollarization of d world.bt i too hav worked n still work abroad wit major oil n gas companies n one thing is certain, they will only pay either dollars ,pounds or euros .They dont pay any other currency meaning ur bank account must be able to accept this currency or u forget abt salary.Its a complete diff game in oil n gas.U cannot force a European expertrate to collect naira.In fact there are international labour laws which Nigeria is signatory .infact even wen i make expense claims to my company abroad in naira for expenses carried out in naira... they convert to pounds n pay me,not naira account.
NB:Oil n gas expenses is in USD,for easy account balancing all transactions are made in 3 major currency only

What Tinubu should have done before floating the naira and removing subsidy.
1. Scrap domiciliary accounts and link Nigeria (using CBN) directly to International Automated Clearing House (ACH) without going through a third-party (ECOWAS) so that our currency will reflect directly on the international market. This move would make it possible for any individual via the local banks to receive foreign currencies directly converted into the Naira into his/her account. This means anyone anywhere in the world can send you money and you will receive it in Naira directly without going to your domiciliary account that would need an exchanger in order to convert to Naira.
2. Force all foreign companies both in the oil sector and the ones handling any government project like housing and road projects to pay all their workers (especially the foreign workers) in Naira. For instance Korean, Italian, Chinese, and others licenced to operate in Nigeria with their CAC number don't pay their foreign workers and some high ranking positions occupied by Nigerians in Naira. With a strong order that all business transactions in Nigeria must happen in Naira will boost the currency's value against any foreign currencies. Also, this will stop all politicians from transacting in dollars during elections to further weaken the Naira.
3. There is enough land in the North (Sambisa for instance) that can be taken by the government for business purposes. How to do this, build military barracks comprising Army, Air force, Navy including police barracks in Sambisa forest, then secure a large part of the forest for farm purposes by leasing or loaning it to real estate agents specialised in farming to farm on the land with instructions to produce rice, beans, yams, tomatoes, etc. (all other essential foods in Nigeria) and flood the Nigerian market with excessive food products since Sambisa forest alone is larger than 2 southern geopolitical zones combined in landmass. This means we can feed ourselves and the entire West Africa if we actually want to, our problem is that a tribe can claim this some day but if it is taking as a national property just as in crude oil, there won't be any problem at all, secondly, the government can through the media enlighten Nigerians that we're one.
4. Ensure that Nigeria has at least 2 working refinery that can actually refine crude oil.
5. Give large grants or high long term loans amounting to over N10million minimum capital to any individual or agents who is willing to start a manufacturing business in any field (technology, electronics, web development, poultry, etc.) in Nigeria, then the government own a 20% stake in it as part of the agreement for the individual or agents to acquire the loan or grant (China did this and their products are all over the world, there's nothing wrong if we adopt this).
6. (This one is not too late) Force all social media and search engine algorithms to prioritise business, artistic, and scientific related models on their sites within Nigeria just like China did. For instance, if this is implemented, it means that when you open Tik-tok or do some search online, instead of seeing girls twerking their butts, you would see stuffs like "how to grow crops as a farmer", "how to generate electricity from permanent magnets", "how to create a host a website by self", etc. kind of contents especially for all youths at and below 25 years old online.
After the above, then floating the Naira and removal of subsidy would be very helpful than just pulling it off without any single plan.

In Nigeria, the protest is as a result of bad state actors who are feeling pained that the election conducted didn't bring them to power even when some came distant third position.

There is hunger in the land. Yes it is true, but what have the individuals done about it? did hunger start today? have they gone to farm? they blame the government and i ask, define government. Are the masses not the authority? are they not the ones who sent people to represent them? What have they done to support those they sent to represent them? If they are hungry they should go to farm and not allow themselves to be used with hunger as an excuse or tool to be used by those who lost out of election to cause chaos.

The rot of over 16 years cannot be cured by just 1 and half year of Tinubu in government. Peter Obi had 8 years as governor of a state yet left Anambra as one of the worst state in terms of development and governance.

Those behind the protest are only calling for anarchy and chaos to make this administration unstable.

Even if the protest ends, untill the farmers harvest their crops, there's nothing that can be done about the hunger. Government can not farm to feed the whole nation. Most Nigerians want everything to be given to them freely without them working for it.

Minimum was increased to about N30k Abia state and Benue that i am aware of were still paying workers about N18k till date. But it is the federal government that they want to blame. Even if it is increased to 200k, federal government will pay her own workers but will the state government pay their workers? will the private sector pay? are the protesters protesting against their state government or against Tinubu? The man -Tinubu- has increased minimum wage. Ask your state governors to implement it and lets see.

Traders in the market are increasing prices in the market at will, are they protesting against those traders? but it is Tinubu that is increasing prices.
We need to be wise as a people in this country.
The call for anarchy should be resisted by all means and those supporting it should be brought to book.

For me, i am not protesting because the protest is just a call for anarchy. The government is working round the clock to make sure things work out for good.

Don't allow hatred for a particular ethnic group to cloud your sense of reasoning.

At 600k bpd, the govt can use Dangote refinery to mop up excess printed liquidity from the system.

At $80 and an exchange rate of #1,500, a barrel of crude will go for #120,000. Multiply that with the projected daily processing capacity of 600k bpd that stands at #72bn. Multiply that for a typical long term 30 day order and that translates to #2 Trillion naira monthly and for a year #24 Trillion.

The govt can use just this sales to Dangote refinery to mop up excess liquidity in the system printed from thin air by Emefile .

And when you consider that Dangote will eventually sell most of that refined stock in dollars to neighbouring African countries that will be paid through the CBN, you have a major FX earner for the country and a means to reduce inflation caused by too much money in circulation.

We might have noticed that since Dangote was blackmailed by that American hook up lady, he seems to have discovered something. The power of the media and the effectiveness of propaganda.

You might have noticed that Dangote is giving more interviews, is increasing his presence in social media spaces and his name and face has been popping up since a very few years now. And more "influencers" and content creators are doing more videos and documentaries about him. It seems to be paying off as we have seen even with the very popular protests against him by the Kogi State residents and his controversies with the State's government, Dangote didn't receive any condemnations and backlash from the Nigerian public. Instead, he only seems to grow in popularity and good will with Nigerians.

Not even Bill gates has or would have ever survived what Dangote has done and is doing without outrightly being jailed, as it almost happened before he stepped down as the Microsoft Chair to focus on his "philanthropy" (just another money making scheme). But Dangote is only getting started!

Nigeria is no where close to having a single individual being so wealthy as Dangote. Nigeria with a population of well over 200 million people, and a GDP of a meager 270+ billion dollars can not have one person holding 5-7% of the nation's entire wealth. This is a big problem waiting to happen and no one with little understanding will say Dangote got to where he is soley or even to a greater extent just by being so hardworking or too intelligent.

Dangote, as we have seen, does not do anything in the slightest to make the lives of the average Nigerian better in any way. Dangote doesn't even pay Kogi State their share of the resources he extracts from them to enrich himself. No country in the world would tolerate such a person, such a person that doesn't give back in any way to the citizens aside donating to politicians for campaigns. But is holding an entire part of the nation's sector to ransom with his overpriced commodities produced in the same country.

Being the "richest Black man and African" does not improve the lives of anyone anywhere!

His refinery will not make the lives of anyone better, he just wants the same leeway and complete freedom to take over and control the petroleum arena the same way he did in the construction areas and partly the food industry.

Even corporations-based countries like South Korea would not tolerate characters like Dangote, while not even seeing real benefits to the citizens like easier access and cheaper goods, safety and job opportunities.

So instead of Dangote to put more effort and resources to make things easier for Nigerians and commodities cheaper so that his actions and contributions can speak louder, he is putting exponential resources into propaganda, brainwashing and especially personality worship. Which are effective ways to get the average Nigerian worshipping, in suffering, while even the North itself is deep in unimaginable poverty, illiteracy and homelessness.
