carmelion: Whether Men and Women are equal? As in which side?grin

Hmmm......smh, no they are not equal o!..
I believe there is a reason why they were created FIRST. But nevertheless, each gender has its own perculiar role to play.

I believe this topic works hand in hand with women empowerment. This thing started because women were being maltreated by their male counter part. So the society sought to give women a voice, which am in support.

But women should know their limits. Personally,I don't measure shoulders with men,cos most times,it robs someone of her feminity. The only place I would not mind contesting with a man is in maybe academics, every other thing I give way, as long as it doesn't de-humanise me(Violence/battery)

I think it's horribly sad that you think this way. You dehumanize and disenfranchise yourself by subscribing to the belief that you're lesser than another human being. You're far too assimilated into pathetic patriarchal gender roles that you have lost all sense of personal identity.

The fact remains that women and men ARE equals although we aren't treated the same in politics, careers, domestic duties, etc. Feminism involves leveling the ground on which women and men stand so that the equality may actually be viewed in our everyday lives and not just a phrase.

We ARE equal. smiley

I don't know where exactly cry just know I'm Igbo..methinks

I'm not biracial!!! I hate when people think I'm mixed race angry lol, no harm no foul though.

Fashion / Why Don't More Naija Women Have Natural Hair???? by BeautifulNaija(f): 3:18pm On May 10, 2013
I truly do not understand. Most Naijas use harmful chemicals (relaxers) or other straightening methods in order to achieve a straight look. Why? Why do most strive to fit into a Eurocentric perspective of beauty. WE ARE BEAUTIFUL AS WE ARE. We need to unchain our minds and break free. I have natural hair and am willing to help anyone who is considering going natural or is already natural.

What do you think of this phenomenon?

Sorry to anyone who hasn't received my responses...I'll keep trying..Kedu to all! smiley

No worries dear. As said, welcome and I think you are right. Sounds like you had an exciting experience of growing, better than mine? I will love to hear about some...
For the Igbo, you just met a Professor in Igbo culture... (***laughing at my professorship****). I am Pete, from Abia and which part of Igboland are you from?

So don't worry about the Igbo when I have got your back... Where and when do you want to start your tutorials *****Smiles****

Unfortunately, I was born in the US. Never been to Igboland sad I want to learn more about my culture and definitely the language. Anything you want to know about the dumbass USA then I can tell you LOL. You may tutor me in anything you deem necessary! :-)

Halo there... Welcome and if you don't mind, which culture will you like to share I could be interested.....

Apologies for not specifying!

I am a Naija girl living in the USA and would like to reconnect with some fellow Igbos or just 9jas in general...Learn the language and more of the customs and culture of my people.

The USA steals and tries to change any culture Black people have for themselves...white people can be so evil. I hope we all remain true to ourselves smiley

I could share my own experiences of growing up here. I need an Igbo language tutor.
