Drunky thats good for you. I just hope that this 'federal character policy" will not ruin the transparency and genuity of the whole exercise. Why are they so keen on one's local gov't area? If one performs well, then why not employ the person. Someone from a state may perform better than a person from another state but such a person will not be taken because they can only take a certain number of persons whereas the person who has not performed as well will be taken because he falls within the bracket of top persons in his state. I thought this system was only used in common entrance to Sec schools, University and maybe the Civil Service.

I just got a mail from Ernst & Young telling me that they are cancelling their earlier invitation letter to me due change in plans. The fact of the matter is that i didnt get an invitation letter from them. Isn't that wierd? Did anyone receive a similar mail from them cancelling the invitation?

The negative energy in the house is overwhelming and it definately needs to be abated. Anyway guys, i think i know wats up with them calls.
Those who have been called did well in the test but there is no documentary evidence to verify their performance i.e copies of certificates etc.
Therefore NLNG is calling them to check their emails which contains a request for them to send copies of their certificates. It is possible that the certificates were not attached at all or have been misplaced. So to those who have been called to check their emails but have found no mail, it will do you alot of good to get NLNG's HR email address from someone who has it, and just send your certificates to them.

NLNG therefore is in the process of verification of certificates of sucessful and shortlisted candidates for the interview. To those of us who have not called, let us brace ourselves as there is nothing to worry about. Our documents/certificates are intact.

Conclusively, we should start expecting our letters by God's Grace as from next week monday(exactly 6 weeks from the commencement of the 2nd test).

Fellow landers, do not despair but celebrate God and the wonderful opportunity he has given us.

I hope I have helped unravel the NLNG call mystery.

I'm happy for those who have been called so far. You guys should start preparing for the interview. For those of us who are still waiting to be called, remember the Lord is our strength and he will do what he says he will do.

The chain is too long for comprehension. I think u should get the phone no of the person who was called to find out for sure if he did get a call. Its possible that those who wrote the test first will receive their letters first i.e acoording to profession and the interviews may be conducted that way also. I think we should all keep our cool.

Jobs/Vacancies / How I Got My Job by beautyx2: 4:03pm On Apr 19, 2007
I just want everyone to know how important faith is in getting employment. Let me just share this testimony.

I served in a particular organisation in Abuja. During my service year, we were told and made to believe that Corpers could never be retained after NYSC. I rejected the statement and told myself that I would be retained by the special grace of God. While other Corpers were discouraged, I was not moved. I worked hard and did my best. I also believed and told God that I will geta good job after NYSC, not having to face the rigours of getting a job in the labour market. 4 weeks after NYSC, i did 3 interviews and was offered employment by 2 of the 3 organisations, including an offer from my former employers during NYSC. To the Glory of God, today i am writing this piece from my office (former employers). I want to give God all the glory for he arranged everything timely and beautifully.

Remember with God, nothing is impossible; everything os possible

That's great. So fellow Nairalanders, keep your phone lines open from Monday next week and be expectant. It will come to those who really want it.

Let me testify of God's goodness concerning my invitation to the 2nd test. After d first test on 3rd of March, i was devasted and thot I had performed poorly. I cried to God when I got home and told him that I really want to work in NLNG. I promised I would testify of his goodness and be grateful to him if he granted my hearts desire. I therefore covenanted with my God. I started hearing that people were receiving their letters of invitation for the 2nd test. In my heart, I thot I wouldnt get one because of how I thot I performed on the 1st test. Meanwhile I asked my cousin at the mailing address i used to expect a letter from NLNG( for what its worth). To the Glory of God, I got a call from a Fedex staff that he was at the address I used and needed someone to sign for the letter as no one was home. I was totally flabagasted and shocked at this time. I begged him to please come back at a certain time so that he will meet someone. And he did. This happened on a friday and my exam was on the following monday. The letter was then sent to me by ABC Transport and I received it on Sunday, intact. God is too much.

My faith in God is greater now than ever before. I hope my testimony will help increase the faith of someone else in the house. God is indeed good and we must trust in him.

I am tempted to believe that we should start expecting our letters after election or the week after that. Although this is merely speculation, I find that looking at the dates we received our previous correspondence, NLNG has shown seriousness and promptness i.e they are not out to waste their time or our time. Well I don't know about the rest of you all, but I am so anxious u that u can't even imagine. If there's anyone with authentic information, please feel free to share with the rest of us.I wish all of us in the house the very best.
