The truth is they are really pushing the Shiites to the wall and i pray they don't reach their elastic limit because, when they do, radicality will come in & a second insurgency group will emerge. May be by then, Buhari will blame GEJ for making him(buhari)to be the architect of his own problems.

Politics › Buhari's Daughter, Hadiza, Dimisses BBOG's Allegations- Daily Trust by BeeBeeOoh(op): 4:20pm On Oct 21, 2016 |
The Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative (AFRISEI) has rejected allegations of franchise infringement by the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group, led by former Education Minister, Dr Oby Ezekwesili.
This is contained in a statement co-signed by the President and Secretary of the NGO, Hajiya Hadiza Buhari-Bello, a daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, and Don Uche, respectively.
The BBOG advocacy group via statement jointly signed by Aisha Yesufu and Oby Ezekwesili had dissociated BBOG group from a fund-raising event organised by Hadiza Buhari-Bello, daughter of Nigeria’s president.
The event tagged: “Official Inauguration and Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Chibok Girls Endowment Project”, took place at the Peace Corps of Nigeria premises, Abuja, on Oct. 17, with the #BringBackOurGirls inscription on the backdrop.
While demanding an immediate retraction and unreserved apology from the organisers of the event, the BBOG also urged the general public to disregard attempts at linking the group to the event.
However, Hadiza Buhari-Bello and Uche stated that contrary to Yesufu and Ezekwesili’s allegation, AFRISEI did not need to lean on the BBOG to be of service to the Chibok Girls.
They maintained that they had no reason “to steal anything from BBOG or use its name to achieve any advantage.
“The Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative has its own defined objectives and that it didn’t need to steal anybody’s ideas to operate in line with its own objectives’’.
While praising the activities of the BBOG to raise and sustain awareness about the plight of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, the President’s daughter said that their organisation had broader objectives beyond the Chibok girls.
They said though the Chibok girls were within the priority of their organisation, their commitments to humanitarian causes did not end with Chibok schoolgirls.
“Given the size of the problem at hand, the more organisations we have assisting Chibok and other devastated communities, the better for the country,’’ they said.
According to them, as a charitable organisation, AFRISEI is committed to empowering the youth and the less privileged in the area of job creation and skill acquisition.
“It is also committed to supporting the education of the less privileged students, giving material support to the downtrodden; the internally displaced persons.
“AFRISEI is committed to educating the masses to discourage unhealthy practices such as child trafficking, child abuse, child labour and gender discrimination’’.
The AFRISEI president and secretary said there was no law that prevented their organisation from assisting the Chibok schoolgirls, adding that as a charity organisation, they offered help to people in distress, including the Chibok girls and the Boko Haram victims.
They noted that AFRISEI was duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and issued certificate of incorporation on July 14, and hence would never engage in illegal activities by stealing someone else’s franchise. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/buhari-s-daughter-dismisses-bbog-s-allegations/167979.htmlLalasticlala, Mynd44

Politics › Aso Rock Policemen Protest "Discriminatory Allowance"- The Punch by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:45am On Oct 21, 2016 |
Some policemen attached to the Police Mobile Force 24, State House, are not happy over their alleged exclusion from the payment of the outstanding allowance to security men attached to the Presidential Villa, Abuja recently, The PUNCH has learnt.
The PUNCH had reported exclusively that President Muhammadu Buhari had cleared the backlog of allowance of security agents, thereby dousing the tension that was brewing among the operatives.
It was reported that the President, through the Office of the National Security Adviser, also effected over 50 per cent increase in the security agents’ allowance popularly referred to as the Risk Cautious Allowance.
Multiple sources among the policemen told our correspondent on the condition of anonymity on Thursday that about 288 personnel were exempted from the payment of the allowance.
The soqurces claimed that those who were exempted from the payment were allegedly tagged “Peoples Democratic Party policemen.”
One of them claimed that the only problem authorities had with them was because they worked in the Presidential Villa under the last administration.
He said the “discriminatory payment” was already causing disaffection among the policemen who were supposed to be working in unity.
He said, “We are calling on the NSA to come to our aid and ensure that this injustice is redressed.
“We all suffered together and we are supposed to smile together. The discrimination is not necessary.
“If our services are no longer needed, we should be paid our entitlement and then they can transfer us.
“Why will some people be smiling, while others are not? We deserve to be treated better.”
When contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, denied the allegation.
Shehu said as far as the government was concerned, everyone entitled to the allowance had been paid.
He noted that there were some officers who were used to free money and would do anything to inflate the list of beneficiaries.
“There is no free money anywhere. Those who are entitled to the payment have been paid. Only security men around the President are entitled to it. Government won’t allow officers who will inflate the list for their selfish purposes,” the presidential spokesman said. http://www.punchng.com/aso-rock-policemen-protest-discriminatory-allowance/

Business › NNPC Cuts Oil Prices To Woo Buyers- The Punch by BeeBeeOoh(op): 5:38am On Oct 21, 2016 |
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has cut the price of every type of crude oil it sells in an effort to regain share of the global oil market amid continued supply glut and growing competition.
This is coming two weeks after Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest crude exporter, cut the prices for November oil sales to Asia and Northwest Europe, and for most grades to other regions.
The NNPC lowered its official selling prices by at least $1 per barrel for 20 out of 26 oil grades monitored by Bloomberg, according to pricing lists.
Qua Iboe, Nigeria’s largest export crude under normal circumstances, was reduced by the most since 2014.
The NNPC cut the selling price of Qua Iboe for November to a 17 cent premium to the benchmark Dated Brent, according to the price list, from $1.07. It reduced the price of Bonny Light to a seven cent premium and Forcados to a 41 cent discount to Dated Brent.
The Group General Manager for the oil-marketing division of the NNPC, MeleKyari, was quoted to have said that the price reductions were due to a “huge cargo overhang” as the country attempts to regain market share.
Like every other producer country, Nigeria is grappling with prices that are less than half of what they were in July 2014.
Over the past few months, the upsurge in militant attacks has worsened the revenue woes plaguing the country, with export flows falling to the lowest in at least nine years earlier this year.
Shipments are gradually resuming, and lower prices are seen as a sign that Nigeria is seeking to become more competitive in an already oversupplied global market.
“It is a bearish signal for the light, sweet market,” the Principal Consultant at KBC Process Technology Limited, EshanUl-Haq, said in an e-mail, referencing the types of crude Nigeria mostly pumps, adding, “In order to capture a higher share of the market, official selling prices have to come down.”
Brent crude futures slumped as much as 2.7 per cent to $51.27 a barrel, the largest intraday decline since September 27.
Five companies that market the Nigeria’s crude have raised the issue of high official selling prices, Kyari said earlier this week. He said on Thursday that the pricing decisions were unrelated to those “complaints.”
The changes to November prices have brought them back to accurate market levels, according to a survey of four buyers of West African crude after the numbers were published.
The reductions take place as the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, of which Nigeria is a member, attempts to cut its combined output to 32.5 million to 33 million barrels per day in an effort to steady oil markets.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr.IbeKachikwu, had said the country would be exempt from any production cuts, though final details of such an agreement have yet to be worked out.
State-owned Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Saudi Aramco, had lowered its official pricing for Arab Light crude to Asia by 25 cents a barrel to 45 cents less than the regional benchmark. http://www.punchng.com/nnpc-cuts-oil-prices-woo-buyers/

Politics › Senate Passes Bill For Establishment Of Northeast Development Commission by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:59pm On Oct 20, 2016 |
The senate has passed a bill for the establishment of a northeast development commission, which will be mandated to initiate and oversee the development of the region.
The bill was initiated in response to the largescale destruction of infrastructure, lives and property by Boko Haram in the northeast.
The consideration of the bill had at different times been postponed owing to disagreement over some of its clauses.
The joint committees on special duties, establishment and public service, chaired by Murtala Nyako, presented their report on the bill on Thursday, after which a consideration of its clauses commenced.
One of the contentious clauses seeks the allocation of three percent value-added-tax accruable to the federal government to the northeast for 10 years.
Also, where the headquarters of the commission would be situated had been a subject of controversy, but upper legislative chamber settled for Maiduguri.
Commenting on the bill after its passage, Bukola Saraki, senate president, said it would help in bringing infrastructural development to the northeast.
And he thanked his colleagues for making sure the bill saw the light of day. https://www.thecable.ng/senate-passes-bill-for-establishment-of-northeast-development-commission

Politics › Illegal Oil Export: Judge's Absence Stalls Fg's $406m Suit Against Shell by BeeBeeOoh(op): 4:25pm On Oct 20, 2016*. Modified: 6:02am On Oct 21, 2016 |
A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned till December 8, 2016 to hear a suit filed by the Federal Government against a multinational oil company, Shell Western Supply & Trading Ltd, over alleged illegal crude oil exports.
The Federal Government alleged that Shell Western Supply & Trading Ltd under-declared the volume of crude oil it shipped out of the country between January 2013 and December 2014.
It alleged that the oil company short-changed it to the tune of $406.7m.
The scheduled hearing in the case was unable to continue on Thursday due to the absence of the presiding judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun.
The case was consequently adjourned till December 8, 2016.
In the suit numbered, FHC/L/CS/336/16, filed through its lawyer, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), the Federal Government claimed to have uncovered the alleged illegal crude oil export by the defendant through a forensic analysis of the bills of laden and shipping documents of the defendant’s operations between 2013 and 2014.
The forensic analysis, the Federal Government claimed, was carried out by a consortium of experts it hired to track the global movements of the country’s hydrocarbons, including crude oil and gas.
The Federal Government averred that its forensic analysts found out that the defendant engaged in practices that led to missing revenues from crude oil and gas export sales to different parts of the world.
The Federal Government averred that its forensic experts revealed discrepancies in the export records of the oil company from Nigeria to ports in the United States of America.
The Federal Government claimed that it was short-changed by the defendant to the tune of $406.75m.
It urged the court to order and compel Shell to pay the sum to it with interest at the rate of 21 per cent. http://www.punchng.com/illegal-oil-export-judges-absence-stalls-fgs-406m-suit-shell/Lalasticlala, Mynd44
