The news of Shahrukh hugging Salman at an iftar party yesterday has hit the news like storm! Everybody’s talking about it and even we are elated with the news which can bring the two living legends together in a movie! After ending their 5 year long rivalry the two actors have certainly buried the hatchet and we just found this old picture and thought you might want to have a look! http://bollywood.celebden.com/2013/07/salman-and-shahrukh-hugs-each-other/ |
For those who don’t know, Iftar refers to the evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the month of Ramzan. The time for breaking the fast was 7:22pm, and therefore it was mandatory for both Shah Rukh and Salman to be present at that time. “Both the actors had to be present at the same time and they were aware about the other’s presence when I had sent out the invitations,” Siddique continued. |
Host Baba Siddique gives tells us how warring superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan patched up at his Iftar party. M aharashtra minister Baba Siddique has every reason to smile. After all, he was instrumental in finally bringing together Bollywood’s warring superstars, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, at his Iftar party held over the weekend. “I am really thankful to Allah for making this happen,” he said. “It was really an emotional moment for us. I don’t think Shah Rukh and Salman had anything against each other.”

The two Khans have remained on unfriendly terms since their spat at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008. Since then, the two have always avoided each other in public as well. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan shook hands at Baba Siddique’s Iftar party on Saturday night. This is the first time in the last five years that both the Khans’ have acknowledged each other’s presence. Shah Rukh Khan and Salim Khan were seated at the chief minister’s table, along with other ministers and important guests. The Dabangg actor walked around the table greeting people. When Salman reached Shah Rukh’s side, one could feel the tension in the air. Everyone waited with baited breath to see what would happen next. SRK kept a straight face and looked ahead to avoid an awkward moment. That’s when Salman tapped him on his shoulder and extended his hand for a shake. SRK got up and hugged him. Suddenly there was an excitement and everyone around began clicking pictures. A source present said, “They did not speak after that. If Salman had ignored only Shah Rukh at the table, it would have been very uncomfortable for everyone present at the Iftar party. It was really gracious of him to make the first move. SRK, was quick to react with a warm smile and a genuine hug.” http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/1863943/report-shah-rukh-khan-salman-khan-hug-each-other-at-iftaar-party

Long Distance or Distance Relationship? Well, allow me to quote shah ruh khan. SRK says " distance is also part of love" Sometimes, lovers are seperated by time and distance on individual path which makes it so easy to know the kind of partner he or she is. However, that is not the end of the relationship provided there is constant interaction depending on the fundament of the relationship. In distance relationship the partners tend be more anxious to meet, they know more about each other if only the lovers communicate well. More so, there's high level of deception. It works for some people where as, its a totally a time to others. |
Hindustan Times is celebrating its 8th anniversary with the theme of power. As part of these celebrations, HT Cafe has featured Shah Rukh Khan in a special cover where SRK gives his take on power. According to Hindustan Times, SRK's "energy and accomplishments are not merely restricted to the box office. They go much beyond. Whether it is star power, brand value, money, fan following or the ability to motivate, Shah Rukh effortlessly does it all."

“Born to Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, via a surrogate mother, the boy has been named Abram (a variant of Abraham). We have received necessary documents to register the birth,” said Manisha Mhaiskar, additional municipal commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). BMC sources said staff from Mannat, SRK’s seafront residence, had submitted all relevant papers about a week back. “The baby, born premature at 34 weeks on May 27, weighed 1.5kg at birth. The assisted birth took place at Andheri's Masrani Hospital for Women,” said a BMC official. Shah Rukh today said the much-publicised birth was a “personal and confidential” matter for him. “It is a personal and confidential matter... it is a mix of happiness and sadness. I request the authorities concerned to continue to enthusiastically investigate about my baby,” PTI quoted him as saying. The actor had run into a controversy last month after a tabloid quoted a purported Mannat insider as saying that the baby the couple were expecting would be a boy. It had prompted the Maharashtra government to order a probe to see if a sex- selection test was done. http://www.telegraphindia.com/1130704/jsp/nation/story_17079723.jsp for further details |
Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan have become parents for the third time after their new baby was born through surrogacy, they named him AbRam. AbRam was born on May 27 at Masrani Hospital and was later taken to Nanavati and Breach Candy Hospital due to him being a premature baby. Shahrukh happily made the announcement through a statement and also took the opportunity to rubbish all the controversies surrounding the ‘new born baby’s sex determination’. click http://bollywood.celebden.com/2013/07/bollywood-celebs-welcome-abram-the-third-child-of-shahrukh-gauri/ for more |
FASTING ON THE DAY OF DOUBT Praise be to Allaah. This is what is called the “day of doubt”, because there is doubt concerning it – is it the last day of Sha’baan or the first day of Ramadaan? Fasting on this day is haraam because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Fast when you see the new moon and break your fast when you see the new moon, and if you are not sure, then complete the number of Sha’baan as thirtydays.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1909). ‘Ammaar ibn Yaasir said: “Whoever fasts on the day concerning which there is doubt has disobeyed Abu’l- Qaasim (peace and blessingsof Allaah be upon him).” This was narrated by al-Tirmidhi and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 553. Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said: “It was understood from this that it is haraam to fast the day of doubt, because the Sahaabah would not say such a thing based on personal opinion, so a report such as this has the same status as a marfoo’ hadeeth. The scholars of the Standing Committee said concerning the day of doubt, “The Sunnah indicates that it is haraam to fast this day.” (Fataawa al- Lajnah, 10/117) Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, after mentioning the difference of opinion concerning the ruling on fasting the day of doubt: “The most correct of these views is that it is haraam, but if it is proven to the ruler that it is obligatory to fast this day and he commands the people to fast, then no one should go against his opinion, and that means that no one should show that he is not fasting on that day, rather a person(who has a different opinion) may not fast, but he should do so secretly.” Al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 6/318. |

New Delhi: One of the most anticipated movies of the year is ‘Chennai Express’ with the perfect trio: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Rohit Shetty. The trailer of the film has already been released and unsurprisingly this action-comedy with the traditional SRK effect is a visual delight. As it happens to be the first association of Rohit and Shah Rukh , Dainik Jagran senior entertainment journalist, Ajay Brahmatmaj had an exclusive chat with King Khan on his next. Q. You had initially planned to team up with Rohit Shetty for remake of Angoor. Then how ‘Chennai Express’ comes in? Ans: Yes, it’s true. Actually, Rohit first approached me with the proposal to work on ‘Angoor’ remake 4-5 years back and I too was excited to do it as the original ‘Angoor’ is close to my heart. He narrated me a couple of stories including that of ‘Angoor’ and ‘Chennai Express’. Since, Rohit wanted more time for Angoor remake, he offered me ‘Chennai Express’. Q. The new benchmark of judging the performance of a Bollywood film, is the famous '100 crore club'. In such a scenario buzz is all around that if ‘Chennai Express’ fails to make its mark then what will happen to the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’? Ans: What will happen? I will give up everything and will probably open a grocery shop … I find all these rumours and speculations worthless. They make me laugh sometimes. In the last 20 years, I have come across such questions so many times. Whenever a new comer performs well then people start making speculations about my ouster. If any of my contemporaries give a hit, people start gossiping that the era of SRK is finished. I don’t know why people co-relate me every time with wrong things. Perhaps, they love me so much so, they care for me a lot. click:- http://post.jagran.com/news-article-chennai-express-spreads-message-of-bonding-love-and-affection-srk-1372078587 for more |

Well, maybe that has happened as a result of unfulfilled promises, foolish propaganda, and lies due to his selfish interest. Mr Okorocha claims he pay the Corper serving in Imo State certain amount of money: both the state allowee and the food subsidy to corpers. All na lie ! Each time friends call to verify his foolish lies, i feel so humiliated. Small time now he'll appear on Tv chanting "yes it is true...." its not good O! |
There is an age-old Chinese saying that goes: “When the wind of change blows, some people build walls, others build windmills. Bollywood’s biggest superstar’s Shah Rukh Khan’s life seems to be somewhat dictated by this one. King Khan has constantly taken the winds of change and successfully built several windmills turned around his life…until recently. Bogged down with a less than stellar movie, a private life that had tongues wagging, and fans screaming for their idol’s big comeback, Shah Rukh, had clearly built a wall around him in the last two three years. But walls are also meant to be broken, so goes another saying. With efforts from those who care for him and the superstar’s own attempt to reach out to the people, SRK slowly managed to break-free from the old shackles and bounce back into the sunshine—a little wiser. With Chennai Express ready to take off this Eid and more reasons to celebrate at Mannat, King Khan takes us through his moments that he had quietly lived through especially in the last 3 years. Nursing an injured hand, SRK these days is spending a lot of quality time at home. If not reading, he is swimming and when he is out of the water, there are official stuff, meetings etc. that has to be tended. Amidst the bustle, we catch up at Mannat, almost after a year. How would you arrange this in priority today—power, money and family? My three priorities would be only family. I have never felt powerful nor did I chase money. I have got money. I have only been after goodness and friends who’re like family. Do you believe in good time and bad time? I don’t believe in astrology. I believe no exterior force can give you a bad or a good time. Whatever good or bad happens to me, it is because of my actions. In every religion, the biggest thing taught is acceptance of God’s will. If I accept His will I don’t need to bother about `Shani halka hai or bhaari hai’ (whether my stars are going bad or good!). I’ve seen my worst days when my parents expired--nothing can be as bad as that. My only prayer every night is that my children should be healthy. Beyond that I don’t need anything. Having said that, you’re not an achiever if you can’t deal with things that go wrong! You have been single-handedly ruling Bollywood for the last two decades. Today with so much competition around do you feel your position being challenged? If I had thought that I have been challenged, then I would have acted accordingly. But luckily, my thoughts are never like that. I don’t compete with anyone and I don’t think of being challenged. I read about my own achievements and let downs every few days and take it in my stride. I have lived with it for 22 years. Having stardom is very easy but sustaining it is difficult. There are other people who believe I have some magic and I can do anything. It could be delusional or poetic, but strangely, I believe what they say and I make it happen. I am not a logical chooser, I’m instinctive. My instincts have gone right so often that people think I’m calculative. They feel I plan a lot, but you spend five days with me and see how I function, you’ll know the reality. I just do my work and meet people and nothing else. The rest all follows. You have been little low for past couple of years. By choice? Actually I haven’t been interacting with lot of people from the industry, that’s all. Otherwise I have been busy all through in my sphere. I work wearing horse blinkers and that is why I never compared myself with anyone. Besides, I have a simple logic in my life-- if I don’t like something, I step back. I find I’m becoming a little more of my own person. I don’t know what the reason exactly is. I think it’s high time I get to know myself. And I am finding, I am good company to keep. You mean you’re taking it easy? Not work-wise. I’m doing what I used to do. But time has changed in aspect of the profession and outside it. I’m not able to comprehend. And if I don’t understand something, why would I do it? So, every time I go out or not go out, there’s a certain reason given to it. I can either spend my time clarifying why I do what I do or I can spend time knowing fully well why I do what I do. I have closed down little a more I think rather than having slowed down. I think now I don’t need to make people happy. I would rather be happy myself. Do you regret any choice you’ve made? Everything that happened to me in last three years (as you’ve mentioned), or the last 22 years, it’s because of the choices I made. Maybe I made the choices by mistake, but I made the good choices. I chose this job and I can’t be complaining about it. I chose to be a movie star and God has been kind enough to grant me that. I’m sure that there must be one billion people who want to be in my position. If I had not been Shah Rukh Khan may be I would have been the one who wanted to be Shah Rukh Khan. I’ve got awards, recognition, everything but I’d had to pay a price…willingly. What is the price you paid? It’s no big price. I would love to live the same life all over again! I want to be Shah Rukh Khan again I think it’s a great life. There have been some losses in terms of personal friends, but who doesn’t have losses in life? Professionally, where do you see yourself today? I don’t analyse it like that. At 47, I still wear make-up in the morning and go to shoot, get excited about having some fun on the sets and make a film. I find it as entertaining as I used to find when I did the very first film of my life. There is nothing else that I do. And there is nothing deeper. I enjoy like a 16-year-old would in whatever I do. I have to do two-and-a-half films a year that are of my repute. Basically, I just enjoy my work. I have a very innocent lifestyle with my kids. People say Ranbir Kapoor will fill in Shah Rukh Khan’s shoes as the next superstar shoes. How do you see it? Stardom and superstardom are individualistic. It’s not fair to call me a superstar when there is Mr Amitabh Bachchan. There can’t be someone like him or Rajesh Khanna, or for that matter Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand. Similarly, there cannot be anyone else like me. Superstardom will always be defined with a new person. They would be bigger, better and nicer or just different. As for Ranbir, people shouldn’t put such pressure on anyone, it’s really unfair. He should work lot more and be the next Ranbir Kapoor. He has got the capabilities and the films. He is very sweet and a very well brought up child as I know. That’s an achievement that he could come out of the shadows of his famous father and make something on his own….and I am sure his father is proud of that. I am and should not be part of that equation even media wise let alone seriously. How do you see Salman Khan’s recent phenomenal rise, considering both of you more or less started together? I can’t comment on the phenomenal rise because he has been a star two years (Maine Pyar Kiya 1989) before I came in the industry (Deewana, 1992). And like I say, sustaining stardom is a bigger phenomenon than gaining it. If I am not mistaken, professionally he had more downs than anyone else and still been able to sustain himself and his stardom. Everyone can’t do that. That’s amazing! It’s an achievement. You can belittle his years of hard work by only counting the last few years. Many people got lost in the industry but people like Salman and Aamir (Khan) have come back with dignity. There is something special about people who can do that. There’s a feeling that your friends--Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla etc. are not as close to you as before. The famous SRK-KJO coterie isn’t there anymore. True? The mistake was people thought it was a camp and in reality it was never like that. Karan, Juhi or Adi, none of us ever said that we have a camp. I meet Adi when I do a film with him. I am not someone who gets angry with supposedly my friends when they are doing things with others. I never told my wife whom she should be friends with. It demeans my self-respect to tell a friend of mine to choose his friends according to my relationship with that person. Because I don’t do it some people think it’s bad and it apparently shows that I’m weak and can’t hold on to my friends. But I like to believe that I’m large-hearted enough that I won’t judge you on who are you with and why are you with him or her. I think it has become fashionable to say I have lost my friends. As long as I know and my friends know, I am fine. Actually I have a problem: I don’t clarify. I keep things inside. I have never spoken about what happened with Shirish (Kunder) or Farah (Khan). Certain things should remain in the heart. When it comes to public domain it becomes nasty. I have seen and heard my friends talking about their friendship in public domain. I didn’t stop them nor will I comment on it ever. Today is Father’s Day. What’s the significance of it for you? I think of my own father. For most of the people their father is their hero…mine was the gentlest…sweetest handsomest father…without being recognised for it. I can still smell him around. He died of cancer and the last few months all I remember of him are his eyes. The gentleness in them and the hope that his son and daughter are taken care of. I believe whatever I do and will do…is because he is somewhere far beyond reaching out to me and making it happen. How do Aryan and Suhana celebrate it? I take my son on the terrace of my house on Father's Day and pray together. I pray he gives strength to my beautiful son that he becomes as gentle as my father. True strength lies in being gentle. My daughter always makes a lovely card for me on father’s day and warmly hugs me and that makes me feel extremely special and warm and fuzzy. |
Shah Rukh Khan talks to TOI about how he and Rohit Shetty got onto the bandwagon of Chennai Express. Why did you choose Chennai Express as a film? My kids and I watch films together at night. One of the films that we really liked was Golmaal 3. Kareena was working with me in Ra.One and I told her that I liked the film a lot and met Rohit Shetty. Rohit was committed to making Angoor with UTV. Me and my mom had a strange history, where we used to watch films together. After my father died (Shah Rukh was 15 then), I, my sister and my mother would watch films together as we were all film buffs. I would press my mother's feet while watching films. And Angoor was clearly one of our favourites. Rohit asked me if I would be interested in hearing the narration of Angoor . I told him I didn't need to, as I knew it inside out. He asked me for five days to come back with the adapted script since it was originally not written for me and he did not think I would do it. He then called me and said, 'Sir, I have been writing another story for some years which has gone to different actors and has never happened before.
