TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by BellaRouge(op): 11:43pm On Mar 29, 2006
@ego
ego:
Perhaps it's the conveniences electricity, water, but before these were available, we didn't miss them did we? We managed to do incredible stuff like build pyramids out of groundnuts, villagers drinking from streams outlive us town folk by decades, so are we better off with our light and water?

Safety? when we're attacked in Lagos, we move abroad, and get splattered all over the highway courtesy of the suicide bomber who was sharing our seat on the bus.

I agree that Nigeria is one great big study in contradictions. Nothing works, yet everything functions. Poor as dirt, incredibly wealthy. But, that's the beauty of us. We make the most of what we've got. Take it from someone who has lived outside of Nigeria and has chosen to come home: Life is not better anywhere, It's what you make of it right there where you are.

@ Bella Rouge
By the time the choice is up to you, come and visit. You might like it enough to stay, or be cured of your home sickness wink
You live in Nigeria, right? Do you think that the situation has improved over the last five years? Is electricity and water more available?
Music/RadioRe: Ginuwine Or Usher: Who Is A Better Dancer, Singer, And Everything? by BellaRouge(f): 6:03am On Mar 29, 2006
Okay, i see your game. U got me on that one, okay okay, i can't stop laughing, cheesy cheesy

But girl, u don't need to ask me whether or not ginuwine knows if he's my boyfriend, go ask him how i look "in those jeans", or better yet how it is "when we make love". He tells me "he'll do anything", and also that our relationship is "none of my friends business". So yeah, i think you tripping not me. "Hell Yeah" you is. cheesy

Lat but not least, i think there are so many "differences" betwn my husband and "your boo". But wahetever happens my husband always goes "back to basics".
Girl, you need to "Pop your collar" and recognize that Usher has got it going on. Usher is "My Boo".
Dear Usher, "U dont have to call". "Yea!"

I got nothing. I give up, you beat me but, Usher is still hotter!!! grin cool
TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by BellaRouge(op): 5:51am On Mar 29, 2006
Yes, I understand what you both mean but, I dont think that Nigerians who havent been abroad realize that it's not what it "cracked up" to be.

I'm sure there are some good opportunities in Nigeria for honest and un-corrupted people. I really dont think that Nigeria is that bad of a place.

I have a question;
Is crime rate (especially armed robbery) decreasing or increasing in Nigeria? My family got robbed once at gun point. That's really one of the reason my dad moved us here. So, if crime rate is decreasing, then why are people still moving out of Nigeria?

Although, you might get paid a lot for working at six flags but, the government takes half your money for taxes. That's rough. Do Nigerians even pay taxes to the gov't?
ohh my ass. u think usher is hotter than ginuwine? That boy with big nose, big head, and ohh hell! He's nothing compared to my man.

Ginuwine even dances better than usher (*coughs*). And ginuwine's voice would make a woman melt. His arms, his voice, his body, his face, I'm going to be "in those jeans" when he throws me on his bed. Like whoaaa, Can u see the veins running through his Arms?? I mean like, *shivers* Don't even compare that dude to usher! Like eww!!!

My Husband (don't let my boyfriend hear)
Like whatever! cool
Girl, you're tripping! Ginuwine is not all that. Seems like you have some "Confessions" to make because "U got it bad"

Does Ginuwine know that he's your boyfriend? You are "Caught up" in Ginuwine's bad boy looks. Usher's got the charms girl. He does not have big nose and big head. Ginuwine's head is bigger than Usher's. "Yeah!"
TravelIs Life Really Better Abroad? by BellaRouge(op): 2:08am On Mar 29, 2006
Hi Nairalanders,

What do you think?
Is life really better abroad?

America might have more educational opportunies than Nigeria but overall, I dont think that life is better here. Although it's nice to have electricity 24 hours a day, but I really didnt mind sleeping without in the dark.

People go through the same problems that some Nigerians complain about; Crime and corruption. The American government is also filled with corruption just like Nigeria. Except education, what other reasons do people have for leaving Nigeria?

If it was up to me, I would return to Nigeria in a blink of an eye because I miss everything about it. cry

Dont worry, by the time you are given a "brief", only a "brief" on Introduction to Juju in Nigerian Politics, no-body will tell you before you enter the next plain back to where you came from.
LOL! grin Juju doesnt scare me!
PoliticsWould You Run For Nigerian Presidency? by BellaRouge(op): 2:08am On Mar 27, 2006
Everyone seems to complain about Nigeria's problems. If you could run for the position of president, having the power to change anything, would you?

I would run for President if politics in Nigeria wasnt so complicated. Besides, with all the juju and witches in Aso Rock, grin

Anyways, is Nigeria over-due for a female president? If men arent doing the job right, then I think we should try a woman. I want to be the first female Nigerian President.

*I am inspired by the present President of Liberia - her niece was a student at my school last year!
CelebritiesRe: Atorise Or Yinka Ayefele? by BellaRouge(f): 1:45am On Mar 27, 2006
I don't know who Atorise is but I would choose Yinka Ayefele over any other Nigerian artist anyday. I love his music! The story of his life is also very inspiring. Is he still using a wheelchair?

"oko tungba
oko tungba part2
fulfilment
new dawn" , Are these new releases? I've never heard of them.
