adioolayi: "What it meant was that the federal government was not subsidising just Nigeria, but the whole of West Africa, which we could not afford to do."
Very dark old days!
I would have given President Tinubu 100% for being bold about subsidy removal, but, I won't .. because he fought against it because of Politics , during Jonathan's administration.
Those protests delayed subsidy removal and Nigeria's economic recovery.
Had it been President Jonathan was allowed to remove it, maybe, by now, we would have finished ensuring the bitting effects of it on common man. Tinubu was right to fight subsidy removal , no refinery was working , compared to now that we have a private refinery fully functional thanks to dangote , it was the perfect time to say goodbye to subsidy. |

For Obi to finally have decided to openly join ADC he already knows what he will be getting , he has been negotiating with them for long . There is nothing to guess here , adc can produce either atiku ,obi or amaechi , even a 5 year old knows this already, so if you think the apc haven't done calculations based on all 3 candidates then I fear you have greatly underestimated the apc . |
Celebrities › Re: Nigeria Safer Than US – American Rapper, DDG by benardtotti(m): 2:05pm On Jan 02 |
Jakumo: Having spent enough years residing in America and in Nigeria, I disagree 100% with the opinion expressed by this rapper who claims that the USA is more dangerous than Nigeria. If the rapper had claimed that GHETTOES in America are more dangerous than Nigeria, his statement would be factual due to the prevalence of "Saturday Night Special" cheap and disposable $50 handguns in most American ghettoes, where the gang and drug culture has decimated generations of semi-educated black Americans.
From coast to coast USA, the odds of falling victim to gang violence drop off steeply as soon as one leaves the inner-city ghetto, and moves into any middle class suburb, even if that safe haven is just a few blocks from the ghetto's boundary lines.
In Nigeria, however, there is NO "safe neighborhood" because kidnappers and armed robbers can strike anywhere and any time, against any and all Nigerian citizens who cannot afford to have armed police guards. When driving along any highway in Nigeria, the risk of getting ambushed and kidnapped that is prevalent all over Nigeria, simply does NOT exist in ANY American city or rural area.
Unless one is wealthy and connected enough to charter helicopters for routine inter-city travel in Nigeria, literally ANY road trip could wind up becoming a one-way trip into hell. The absence of any such ambush danger along ALL highways in the USA , taken as a single factor of consideration, makes Nigeria orders of magnitude more dangerous than any part of America, including the Deep South.
More than likely, the American rapper visiting Nigeria spent his entire holiday in an up-scale area like Lekki or Victoria Island in Lagos, and on noting that there was no gunplay as is a normal occurrence in American ghetto night clubs, concluded WRONGLY that the entire nation of Nigeria must be safer than his ghetto "hood" stateside. Lies ! Nigeria is not as violent as even south africa, if it was that easy to kidnap people in lagos , abe9kuta , Abuja, everyone would have run away from Nigeria into cotonou. |

Remember that Lagos too under Tinubu also set up the template of retired governors lavishing themselves with the resources of their state to the detriments of development post retirement. A bad precedence has long been set. Nurtw has been collecting dues long before tinhbu became governor, I don't know why you keep trying to tie everything to Tinubu. |

DrMB: Tax policy becomes misleading when administrative thresholds are mistaken for living standards. Nigeria’s ₦800,000 tax exemption illustrates this problem: a figure that falls squarely within extreme poverty is being framed as economic relief - We are redefining poverty downward until survival itself looks like comfort. 800k is for 9 to 5 workers, most smes won't pay tax if they don't make 5m per annum . |

He disguised the 50billion naira he gave Oyo state governor using the collapsed building to front, the governor hasn't joined APC, then they started witch-hunting him. This is very wrong in all senses
50 billion naira is about 34 million dollars. This will build ten thousand "Room Parlor Self-Contain" at 5million per flat excluding land cost since all land belongs to the government. This man should be voted out in 2027, He is devilish, even devil won't do this How many room and parlour did Obi build in Anambra? chicfarmer: Where the interest on this money dey go for over one year now?
Secondly it disappointing that the Oyo state government received this money for over a year and just let it 'gather dust' just because you knew 'a day like this will come'. So if you properly applied the money for its intended use and keep good accounting records wouldn't that make better sense? Must you wait for the total money to be released before you start? Meanwhile people who sorely need the intervention are suffering. I'm disappointed in this governor. He allowed politics to overshadow the more important public good for which that money was released.
Nb: and let nobody tell you that they would leave 30bn in a commercial bank without collecting interest on the money. Where is the interest on that money going to? All the Governors do it cos they know an average Nigerian will blame aso rock and BAT for their problems and not hold their Governors accountable. |

thesicilian: You guys just make assumptions then conclude on the assumptions. Your voices are louder than your actions. And when a person's voice is too loud he fails to hear others and save himself on time. Same mistake of 2023 is about to repeat next year.
If you don't know, the reason everyone seems to be on your case is because others are not as loud. Atiku was very professional about his defeat whereas Third Place Guy repeatedly claimed he won even when he couldn't defend himself in court. And you his supporters are some of the most unruly set of supporters ever, even worse than football fans, ever ready to insult anyone whose opinions seem to differ. With this kind of fanbase there's no way he'll win any election whether as VP or P. There is no difference between buharists and Obidients, they both think winning a particular state or region meant you have won elections even when it's clear as day to others that you didn't win unless you partner with some particular regions , While buhari was smart to humble himself and partner with that region , obi and his mob think they can bully and insult to get the support , we will be here in 2027 to laugh at them . |

Nairalandankra: former governor of Kano and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has warned those planning to dump the party that they would fail politically if they make the move.
Kwankwaso stated this while addressing supporters in Kano as speculation continues to grow over the alleged plan of some party members to switch alliances.
Naija News reports that supporters of the former governor, under the aegis of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, are considering defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kwankwaso warned against such a move, adding that those who betray the party will ultimately face consequences.
He said, “What I am seeing is here even beyond what I expected. Of course, I am aware that few, very few of you have decided to cross to the other side; don’t worry, whoever knows them should advise them.
“Nobody in this country or elsewhere has ever succeeded with betrayal; it doesn’t work that way. And if you are in doubt, look at our history from 1999 till date. All those who betrayed this group, like other groups, have never succeeded. I don’t even know one.
“They may succeed temporarily: day one, day two, day three, year one, year two. Some in this state were looking like they were succeeding for 10 years. If you ask them, “where are you now?
“They are on the floor, flat on the ground. So, I’m telling you so that you can learn from other people’s experience.

Nigeria has 36 states (37 in election matters) and you can win just 4 states and be declared winner. It is about getting the required spread and majority.
Last election, he didn't even win Kano and Lagos which has the most numbers Don't bother educating that dude , they will learn a hard lesson in 2027 , I always like it when they make assumptions and underestimate Apc and PBat , then they loose and start crying , since 2019 apc has been winning steady and consolidating , yet they assume they can defeat a German modelled blitzkrieg. |

Now, can anyone show us Tinubu with evidences like this...
NOTE: DONT POST FASHOLA ACHIEVEMENTS
THIS IS ANOTHER REASON IM VOTING PETER OBI ... WORKINGS DEY. The difference between Tinubu and others is while others just buy and Brand equipment, tinubu creates a system that will sustain itself , please read below about LASAMBUS: [ Yes, Bola Tinubu established the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS). He launched the service in March 2001 during his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State (1999–2007). It was a pioneering initiative in Nigeria's public health sector. Key Facts About the Creation of LASAMBUS * First of its Kind: Before LASAMBUS, there was no organized, state-wide Emergency Medical Service (EMS) in Nigeria. Tinubu's administration created the service to modernize emergency response in the state. * The "Mobile Intensive Care" Model: The initiative was designed to move away from using ambulances merely as "hearses" (vehicles for carrying dead bodies) to using them as mobile clinics capable of providing pre-hospital care to accident victims and emergency patients. * Integration: It was established alongside the expansion of 24-hour emergency wards in General Hospitals to ensuring that patients picked up by the ambulances had a dedicated place to go for immediate treatment. Why it Matters The creation of LASAMBUS is often cited as one of the key healthcare achievements of Tinubu's governorship. It laid the foundation for the emergency response infrastructure seen in Lagos today, which has since been expanded by subsequent administrations (such as the addition of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA). Would you like to know more about other healthcare reforms initiated during his time as Governor?] Thanks to gemini. |

If Kwankwaso fails to defect with his godson, it would lead to even less votes for the APC, than in 2023, especially in the presidential elections. Tinubu's desperation and prioritisation of self will be his waterloo. He already showed how selfish he was when he threw Ganduje under the bus without a single thought, as demanded by Kwankwaso. I'm not sure one party system will help this country On the contrary, one party system will help nigeria progress quickly , go back to history and check, no serious government delivered tangible results in 4 years . China is a 1 party state and it took over 30 years of sustained policy to become an advanced nation. Rwanda is a 1 party state and we all see how orgsnized and progressive Rwanda is .
