While I agree that there is Christian genocide I totally disagree that the Muslim-Muslim ticket is an attempt to subdue the Christian which I stand to be corrected because looking at the metrics when Buhari choose a Christian Vice the whole of his appointments were lopsided in favour of Muslims. Conversely, it is absolutely different in the era of Tinubu's administration if Muslim-Muslim ticket will yield this inclusiveness abeg make e kwantinue for another century after all the VP position and sit is the most passive in human history! The only problem is the problem of Islamic fundamentalists and extremists that serves as an existential threats to all...

motymop:
Reno didn’t become an ambassador by accident. His rise is the result of clear political and media calculations that made him the right person at the right time.

First, his nomination fits Nigeria’s long-standing tradition of ethnic and regional balancing. Sharing the same background with the First Lady positioned him naturally for consideration.

Second, Reno has something most public figures don’t, media firepower. He defended Nigeria loudly, consistently and in front of international audiences. From challenging accusations of Christian genocide to correcting misinformation, he became a reliable voice for the country.

Third, politics rewards loyalty. Reno took heat, stood firm and pushed national narratives even when it wasn’t popular. Governments always remember people who fight their battles publicly.

Fourth, he brings international visibility and cultural representation. He wears Nigerian attire everywhere, showcases the culture boldly, and connects with diaspora communities, a soft-power asset any administration wants.

Finally, there’s the power of strategic controversy. Whether people agree with him or not, Reno commands attention. In politics, visibility is currency and he is never ignored.

Funny enough, Tinubu might have set up Reno and FFK for humiliation at the Senate

He did same to El Rufai who dressed in agbada, thinking he would "take a bow" and was publicly whitewashed.

At least Reno will add to his bio - " former Ambassador designate"

However, IF Tinubu truly appointed these 2 sincerely... Very few people have this level of maturity. Saraki too should just go ahead and prostrate for forgiveness.

Saraki would have been the perfect successor to Tinubu under his Northern Yoruba Agenda he's using on the North grin Saraki was just arrogant and impatient
Tinubu does not hold grudges he understands politics perfectly! He knows people can insult you tomorrow oppose you today and still support you the day after , even his former deputy governor that he had issues with in the past is on the ambassadorial list.

He may be hailed as strategist but it is a very negative precedence. It is an act of impunity. It is an abuse of influence and power. It doesn't help democracy and party growth.

This was in the Constitution GEJ organised that never saw the light of the day. Every effort was made to scuttle the Constitution review and ensure that it was not implemented.

Today, they are now admitting the importance of that Constitution.

To me since Independence, the GEJ Constitution was the best in Nigeria.

Forget ethnicity and bigotry, it's the best.
That's because gej didn't know how to play politics , if you want your bills passed you either lobby the opposition if they have numbers or you make sure your ruling party have dominant numbers in the assembly and also across most of the states .

You think tinubu was stupid trying to get as many governors as possible to his side ?

Definitely not , now that constitution review is over and it's time to vote most of the states will go the way of the governor .

DMerciful:
Its a simple logic oga. Petrol is sold at N1600 at the international market, Nigerians are buying at N800+, someone is paying subsidy and its definitely fg.

Lets not eat yams as if they contain bones
I ask again are you importing the petrol or producing it locally? Cos don't understand why you keep trying to tell us petrol is 1600 according to international price when the crux of the matter is the current bulk over 60 percent of your fuel is produced locally .
PoliticsRe: NNPC Report Shows Tinubu Government Spent N7.1trillion On Subsidies In 2024 by benardtotti(m): 10:15pm On Nov 25, 2025
DMerciful:
If the fg has opportunity to sell crude at international price but decides to sell low to Dangote so that Dangote sell petrol for half the international price to Nigerians, is that not subsidy?

If a farmer sells rice to his neighbors for half the price, even if he is the one producing the rice, he is paying subsidy in form of lost revenue
Oga , the report said nnpc paid subsidy claims , you don't pay subsidy claims for something you produce and give another partner to process for you sir, so according to your logic who exactly did nnpc pay the claims to cos we all know they are no longer paying fuel marketers d they couldn't have paid the claims to dangote cos he is already getting crude oil and pays for it in naira .

If you produce rice let's say 1000 bags and decide you will export 500 bags in dollars and sell the rest 500 bags in naira to the local market at discounted offer how then will you loose?

Cos both ways you are getting paid all you need is to balance the books , why will you now pay subsidy ?
PoliticsRe: NNPC Report Shows Tinubu Government Spent N7.1trillion On Subsidies In 2024 by benardtotti(m): 9:56pm On Nov 25, 2025
DMerciful:
Nigeria is paying subsidy. How much is petrol in the international market? About $1, now convert to naira.

Who pays the difference?
Nigeria is not importing fuel , except you are claiming dangote should stert charging international rate for petrol ? Also don't forget that government is not paying private marketers to import anymore, reason they wanted to impose 15% duty on fuel imports to discourage it.

It's simple logic ,if indeed nigeria is paying subsidy you think dangote won't cry out ?

This development comes despite the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government’s repeated claims that it has stopped subsidising the cost of petroleum in the country.

A SaharaReporters' review of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) financial statement for the year ended December 2024 has shown that a sum of N7.1 trillion was said to have been spent on fuel subsidy to defray energy costs.

The expense was tagged "energy security expense" in the financial report.

According to the document, the energy security expense occurs "when there is differential between exchange rate used to freeze the Premium Motor Spirit ex-coastal price and the prevailing exchange rate at point of import settlement."

"The amount is charged against what should have been paid to the federation accounts monthly."

A sum of N4.8trillion was recorded to have been spent on the same item in 2023.

This development comes despite the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government’s repeated claims that it has stopped subsidising the cost of petroleum in the country.

Data by the Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (NEITI) shows that the highest amount spent on subsidy by the Nigerian government between 2005 and 2021 was incurred in 2011, when a sum of N2.1 trillion was paid.

In 2022, however, the Nigerian government paid N3.36 trillion as fuel subsidies, meaning that between 2005 and 2022, the highest subsidy paid stood at N3.36 trillion. With N4.8 trillion spent in 2023, the N7.1 trillion recorded for 2024 becomes the highest ever spent between 2005 and 2024, a twenty-year period.

Upon assuming office on May 29, 2023, President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of subsidy, citing the need to stop wastage in governance and increase revenue for development.

It remains unclear why the government incurred even higher subsidy-related expenses after the announced removal.

https://saharareporters.com/2025/11/25/nnpc-report-shows-tinubu-government-spent-n71trillion-subsidies-2024-captured-energy
Nigeria was already owing subsidy claims to nnpc , I believe this are just settlement for past claims , same way nigeria is owing gencos 4 trillion naira subsidy for electricity.

Being one of the largest economies in Africa with the most diverse cultures is enough reason to visit and experience the diversity. The north alone has many tourist attractions. Every part of the country has rich history and culture, delicious food, ancient artifacts and tourist sites.

The number 1 problem is insecurity. Then things like electricity, and bad experiences tourists have right from the airports to the streets.

Foreign governments have had elevated security warnings about Nigeria since the past 15 years or more with religious riots, BH, Armed Fulani gangs, militancy, armed struggle, abductions, robberies etc all over Nigeria
Bro even before insecurity, Nigeria has never ever been a tourist attraction, that was, what Donald Duke tried to invest in and even ran a lot of PR on global media for tinapa, now since duke left what has happened to tinapa? So insecurity is not the issue.
What of sport, I grew up near the liberty stadium in ibadan and that place used to bubble with life and activities, I heard the place was on fire when David visited earlier this month for his tour, the neighborhood was alive with activities for 48 hours.

See how national stadium at surulere was left to rot, Abuja stadium nko?

The honest truth is ourleaders don't like any project that will make them wokr hard for the ROI, thays why we are where we are.

How can other countries like SA, Egypt, even Senegal have decent football league and stadia and Nigeria can't boast of anything?

We need to stop blaming insecurities for the shortcomings of our state governors.

By the time he left office, all those problems were firmly tackled.
Those problems were not firmly tackled bro , obj just used wisdom to reduce the tension , the root of jihsdism was born as soon as obj allowed northern governors practice sharia instead of abiding by the federal constitution of nigeria being a secular state .

That's my issue with Nigeria, we allow lawlessness for 3 reasons

1. It doesn't affect us directly
2. It's our brother ( religious or ethnic) let's close our eyes to it
3. It is beneficial to my cause long term

Then the cycle continues as time goes on until it becomes difficult to punish lawlessness cos when you try to , other tribes will call it witch hunt.
