It is as if they are not under the supervision of any ministry They are not under any supervision, fifa rules that football federation should be independent 0f government intervention, they almost banned Nigeria years back on this matter , the g0vt nor the ministry can even select the nff chairman ,that's why the misbehave and its difficult for the ministry to do anything. |

Politics › Re: Joe Abah Cautions Tinubu Against Appointing FCT Indigene As Minister Of FCT by benardtotti(m): 11:05am On Aug 07, 2023 |
Hedonisco: I mentioned that there is a technical difference between Abuja and the FCT. This technical difference is crucial, and is what concerned 'indigenes' need to study and familiarise themselves with the constitution about.
Then again, I have nothing against an 'indigene' being made the FCT Minister. What I'm concerned about, as I believe Dr Joe Abah rightly suggested, is the likely agitation that the FCT Minister position should become, by convention, their birth right. A Gbagyi man can be appointed as FCT Minister, but it shouldn't be seen as an entitlement or as a right. We know how Nigerians can be unreasonable with these agitations. This is a very valid fear because such an agitation would make nonsense of the very idea of a Federal Capital Territory as enshrined in our constitution.
An Abuja State could have been created for them, totally different from the FCT, so that they can 'enjoy' whatever perceived benefits that arise from statehood. Then again, it is mostly them that retain the council chairmen for the Abuja councils by convention which is a fair enough deal. I don't understand why they're going further to ask for the FCT Ministry to be ceded to them.
It is dangerous to allow this tribal entitlement 'na we get am' mindset creep into our FCT which is the product of Nigeria's oil wealth and the collectivity of Nigerians. Ok I understand you better now ! |

Hedonisco: Clarify the basis for your question in the context of the discussion so that I'll reply accordingly. In your post you said fct belongs to everyone as its now the federal sit of power , so I'm asking are the abuja indigenes no longer part of Nigeria or Nigerians, is it bad for them to become minister on their own land ? After all it belongs to everyone so they have all the right to ask to be given the position . |
Politics › Re: Joe Abah Cautions Tinubu Against Appointing FCT Indigene As Minister Of FCT by benardtotti(m): 8:31am On Aug 07, 2023 |
Hedonisco: Don't be stupid. FCT is already constitutionally designated as a Nigerian "no man's land" of sorts, that's why it is called the FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY. Don't be an illiterate barbarian.
I 100% support the Joe Abah. I can't stand the idiotic and unfair indigenous agitations that are rife in Nigeria. It is bad enough in Lagos where federal money and the collective effort of Nigerians was used to develop the land, only for a few insufferable so-called 'indigenes' (more correctly tribesmen) to start asserting ownership and insulting the sensibilities of others.
Imagine the FCT which is Nigeria's melting pot, developed with billions of dollars of Nigeria's money, shaped by ALL Nigerian tribes, now being claimed by some lazy members of a local tribe as theirs. Not gonna happen!
Let them agitate for a state to be carved out of Abuja (Abuja is technically different from FCT) if they are desirous of having their own state. Maybe portions of Abaji and adjourning areas - where they can have their own governor and senators and whatnot. But they can't claim FCT because the FCT constitutionally belongs to the Federal Government, hence to all Nigerians.
I don't like encouraging rubbish. Simple question to you , is the abuja indigene not a Nigerian citizen or not ? |

Ebubu3: Why were these policies and modalities not set into motion by Buhari since 2021 so that by 2022 or early 2023, we will be reliant on CNG then fuel subsidy can be removed.
Why commencing this policy that as they said will be completed early next year ? Why put the cart in front of the horse instead of horse in front of cart? This thing should had been done and concluded before subsidy was removed.
Our misleaders like to suffer us. This is how they came about with new currency and cashless policy that they made no provisions for.
This is commendable but damnly late.
Unnecessary sufferings will be created.
While I agree with you , the labor union also needs to share a blame , they sat mute when buhari was passing final budget to end subsidy by June, they didn't ask him all these questions about the plans to give Nigerians alternative energy , now they are running up and down making demands and protesting, I have discovered Nigerians are the most unserious set of people in the world . |

Politics › Re: Mass Burial Of 103 EndSARS Victims: Lagos Govt Being Clever By Half - Ogunlana by benardtotti(m): 2:15pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
Franzinni: granted they are factoring the cost of keeping the bodies but if you want to be fair with it, how many times have they used people who are identifiable and claimable for cadaver in medical situations? Now the 103 people are unclaimed and unidentified so why dont they bow use them for medical research instead of a mass grave and then use the 61m to do something that is beneficial to the masses... The reason why is that they want to do what Nigerians do... Mind you those bodies were stored in government facilities so what is the billing for ? Are they not Nigerian? You don't get the point ,whether they use them as cadaver or Bury them ,they will still pay the mortuary for keeping them this long , I believe over 60 percent of that bill is going to settle running cost , you sef calculate it since 2020, we are in 2023 , that's a huge bill on the morgues. |
Politics › Re: Mass Burial Of 103 EndSARS Victims: Lagos Govt Being Clever By Half - Ogunlana by benardtotti(m): 1:59pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
Franzinni: 61 M .... These people have been moving billions so 60m to them is just like 60naira. Nigeria will never grow without a conscious focus to effect growth rather it will continue to be constricted by those we appoint to lead the way. Have you factored in the costs 0f keeping the corpses at the morgue? I hope you know they charge daily for the corpse being in the fridge, it's like hotel if you like stay for 1 year after your initial deposit they will calculate your final balance and give to you, I personally don't think that 60m is just f0r burial alone it covers other costs. |

His own style of road construction has defied logic. From. Isawo-Agric road, Igbogbo - Bayeku axis roads Demuren (ketu) roads and many more, one could point out one thing: GROSS INEFFICIENCY, INDIFFERENCE TO PLIGHT OF THE MASSES, WASTAGE AND GRAND CORRUPTION. Roads meant to be fixed for certain speculated period are alarmingly left to lay uncompleted for as long as TIMES FIVE of the period. Demuren toad was billed to be completed just for slightly above a year is just 30%done after about four years. Agric - Isawo Road that should be constructed for almost the same period is 7 years and less than 35% completion. One should not even talk about roads in Bayeku Igbogbo axis. hardbody: This postulation only applies to criminal suits not civil matters such as election petitions. In civil matters, the courts look at the preponderance of probable evidence presented before it. The law is that judgment will be entered against that person who fails to lead evidence to prove its case in a civil matter. Stop misleading people with your half- knowledge. Bro this does not follow , if you claim you won an election then it is for you to show why you won it and the declared winner was the loser, what exactly do you want the winner of the election to do ? Start bringing Ec8 forms to show he won? That's not how it works, you said you won an election ,show us how you won then its easier for the defence to plan their next move . Go check oyetola vs Adeleke , even tho oyetola lost he tried to prove there was over voting at a adelekes stronghold. |
Politics › Re: Peter Obi/labour Party Vs Inec/tinubu/shettima/apc Final Written Address by benardtotti(m): 8:27pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
XY23: Lol. Let me try and understand your arguments for once. It is true that neither PO nor AA could prove they won the highest lawful votes cast. I read both responses thoroughly. But guess what? The 1st respondents couldn't prove that BAT did same. Why? the umpire (INEC) simply conducted elections and flew the evidence to Mars (figurative). They couldn't defend what they declared (e.g. EC38A for rivers). PO was able to prove however, that he won in Rivers and Benue (making a total of 14 states).
Now, the thrust of both petitions is NON-COMPLIANCE with electoral law. It has also been established that INEC guidelines are not rhetoric, they're backed by the law with which it operates.
Possible verdict: Rerun (unless the court feels such departure from the law is not substantial). The FCT issue will set a precedent, no need arguing about that. Whether BAT will partake in the rerun or not depends on the other issues. In all, let justice be seen to be done. It is not for the respondents to prove anything, it is the petitioner who has to show beyond reasonable doubt that he won .he who alleges must prove , a respondent only has to defend his stance based on whatever the petitioner throws at him . |
